• jennadB8956JE (2/5): UNSANITARY, OUTDATED, MOLD, BLOOD STAINS, BAD PLUMBING, SAVE YOUR MONEY DO NOT STAY HERE! - Very old, outdated, and not clean. The first room’s window unit for heat and a/c smelt like urine when we had it running. On top of that, there were random pills and some Cheetos in the hideaway bed. Then they gave us two sets of linen and both had stains all over them. It was so bad that we went to the front desk to see what they could do. They offered a different room, at which point I accepted as it was late and we had a dance competition the next day. The second room was very minimally better, we basically just didn’t run the air unit at all so it wouldn’t stink in that room. We had booked a 2 night stay, and decided we would check out Saturday and go elsewhere. My daughter was dancing that morning so we didn’t get out of the hotel until 1pm. Check out is noon. We talked to the front desk to see if we could get a refund for the second night. They said they had to talk to their manager, and would call us back. 4 hours later they hadn’t called back so we reached out to them. They said their manager’s decision was to not refund us ANY money since we checked out 1 hour late. NEVER AGAIN, this is unacceptable customer service. I was and still am completely disgusted with the entire situation, especially since we paid 400 for the two nights because that was the rates at the time of booking. SAVE YOURSELF THE TIME, STRESS, AND MONEY- I HIGHLY RECOMMEND AVOIDING THIS PLACE BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY.
• Rebecca (3/5): Cold showers, green swimming pool and a disobliging clerk make for a questionable stay - The bed was comfortable. The clerk was accommodating. He switched us to an inside room. The pool was warm. No bed bugs. The pool was green. There isn't any hot water in the shower! When I reported it to the manager, he said there wasn't any problem and at this time he is unwilling to give any sort of refund or adjustments to the rate. Almost $300 is too much to pay to not get a shower.

• Jennifer (8/5): Good place to stay when on the road. - Check in staff was friendly. Was just an overnight stay for us. Bathroom door didn’t shut properly, also tub didn’t drain so water collected at our feet when showering.
• Ruben (10/5): Fair - The rooms need remodeling the carpets are in bad shape n smell really bad room 114 after the 2nd night the carpet was all wet. Moved to room 408 the toilet is all loose our American flag in front was all torn all of uncles n aunties n my Dad were in the service. Of course everyone is gone. my brother travels with me h to visit there grave site. The breakfast was not the greatest there was never any type of protein meat. The only day that they put out that was Saturday September 27th every day a breakfast should consist on some eggs maybe rotation of bacon, sausage, links,hot dog fried, country potatoes, hash browns For 2 days in a row there was no yogurt. On Thursday by 8:30am there was no begals no toast the bananas were all black. every day went at different times n looks like nobody comes n checks if there's anything that needs replacing. One staff member was very friendly. The man's bathroom in the lobby really needs cleaning specially the urinal.

The shower was ripped out if the wall and some water damage on the ceiling. The staff was very nice though. They did have an inside pool that seemed clean.

There was a red stain on the sheets in the bed when we arrived and what looked like possible orange / brown mold or poop on the bathroom wall. Smelled very mil-dewey. If you need a place to crash it would be alright but would want to get out pretty quick the next day.

• johnrF5047NQ (8/5): John Visits His Daughter - It was a very nice motel. It was not fancy, but everything was there, towels, shampoo, soap. The bed was comfortable and the TV worked great. It was very close to several eating places and was close to campus to see my daughter which was the whole reason of choosing that location.

It was a good peaceful experience were they didn't bother me unlike the other hotels I've stayed at in Lawrence KS have been in my experience.

• Verified traveler (2/5): - When we first checked into our room there was a really bad odor that was all over the room. And when we got back from our concert into bed we noticed a bed bug and they weren’t going to refund us. The man at the counter just said “We can give you a room a couple doors down”. We didn’t feel like driving 2 hours home at 1 am so we took the other room and it had that same odor but worse. This was the worst hotel i’ve ever stayed at and will not be coming back.
• Brent (2/5): The Photos DO NOT tell the story - The hotel was unkempt, dusty and in some cases very dirty. The room had a sour odor and was not generally clean. My Sisters room had a drain back up in the bathroom that was not addressed until the second day of stay and there was no offer from the hotel to change their room. The front desk clerk was working a three day straight shift and was sleeping on the lobby couch. Overall it was not a good stay and I would not recommend that anyone one stay there.

• 526aprylr (2/5): Health concern and poor customer service - We arrived at 10:30 PM. After falling asleep we heard dripping in our room. Water was coming out of the ceiling. It was obvious after inspecting that the problem had been going on for some time. The ceiling was spongy and wet. I attempted to use the phone to call the lobby, but the phone system is not working. Given it was very late and we were in our pajamas we chose to deal with it. The next morning, I communicated the problem. No apology was provided. They told me that they will have someone look at it. Besides the inconvenience, it’s a health issue. We won’t be staying here again due to the quality of the room and horrible customer service.

• Explore58322401652 (2/5): DO NOT STAY AT THIS LOCATION - This was the worst hotel and hotel experience I have ever been apart of. From a crack pipe on the sidewalk, to the room smelling like smoke, wet carpets from leaking AC units, no customer service whatsoever, and a list of complaints on the front desk with over 10 rooms, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. As a former Choice employee and as a member of a franchisee family, this is not up to standards with our brand. This location would not pass as a Roadway Inn. To top it off, when I checked out early and canceled the rest of my stay, they informed me that my card would be charged for the full stay. I will be disputing these charges.
• F9325YWrc (10/5): Well worth the price!! - I actually stay here regularly when i’m in the area, nice clean rooms, comfortable bed, and i especially like being able to pull right up to my room. Check in is always quick and very friendly. I don’t always make it up in time for breakfast, but when i do, i always have a big breakfast of waffles, sausage and eggs.

Key cards deactivated every time you need to use it. my room was never cleaned I asked for towels and they acted as if that was wrong of me. I was told I would get a receipt at check out for my deposit and the soda I purchased at the counter however that wasn’t true I was told I would get my deposit back in 24 hrs and it’s been 60 but no deposit in my account they have terrible customer service you ask them a question and they get frustrated never answer the question and just say okay, over all I’d give it a -10

And the power went out twice. At check out there was no clerk around for me to speak with so i had to leave a note. After getting my son checked in at school i went back to speak with some one and was told by the clerk AJ Ferguson that everything was taken care of. Whatever that means! He refused to let me take a picture of the screen for verification.

When I checked in the guy at the desk gave the distinct impression that he would rather I hadn't bothered him by coming to check in. Property was tired and didn't feel properly maintained. When I got to my room climate control was off it felt like it was well over 90 degrees in the room. The AC hardly worked. It put out very little cold air and cycled off often without making real difference in the room temperature. I turned it on and went out to eat. When I returned the room didn't feel any cooler. I finally fell asleep out of total exhaustion sometime well after midnight but the room never got cool enough to be comfortable. There have to be better options in Lawrence.

Check in went smooth but I decided to check out room before we brought our stuff in. The room appeared to be clean. The shower was either dirty or bottom of tub was stained a grayish color. There was a strange smell. You could look down from the second floor at the indoor pool and it was cloudy with obvious areas of dirt in the bottom. I went back to the front desk to cancel the room. Again it was several minutes before someone appeared. The cancelled my room with no issues- if you cancel within 30 mns of check in it is a full refund.
