• Glenda (9/5): Overall it was a nice place. - The location was perfect as I was there for a sick relative at the Royal Alec. Starting at 6:30 am doors starting slamming. Then there were people out in the corridor talking loudly at about 7:15 am. Then about 8:00 am I could here kids in the hall running to the pool and making to much noise. So I was woken up hours before I needed to get up.

• de corte (9/5): stay was great as usual. - The location is perfect for going anywhere. There's a mall across the street. I chose the hotel because it was close to my dr's appointment. We arrived sooner than the regular check-in time because of my appointment and I was handed over the key to our room, gave us some time to get organized after laser treatment, as i wouldn't be able to see and get around. The pool is rather small but warm and my grandson loved the slide. As the weather was terrible, we had breakfast at the restaurant on the 2nd floor. Very nice place with big windows, nice atmosphere. Servers are friendly. Lots to choose from on the menu. My 3 egg omelette was cooked perfectly, i added peppers and spinach. Coffee is included. I was there before and i always go back because i like it there. the weather. lol. It was April craziness: snowstorms, blowing snow and cold.

• Kristie (6/5): Good location but issues - Great location right across from Kingsway Mall. Upon arrival we checked in at 5pm after traveling all day. When we got to our room it STUNK so bad of cigarette smoke. My eyes were burning. I called front desk and they said they couldn’t switch me rooms as they were booked up - and asked us to leave our room for an hour while they use an ozone machine. I don’t understand why we couldn’t switch rooms with someone else checking in later and they could use the ozone then rather than inconvenience us. I thought that was poor customer service. Within 24hrs the room smelled terrible again. This is a very large place that has a motel type of layout. You *can* walk all the way around but most often if you’re in the further buildings it’s quicker and easier to walk across the parking lot to access the lobby/pool/restaurant.

• Mallorey (6/5): Some rooms are great and others are not. - Great location. I stay there about twice a year and each time the quality has gone down. This time the toilet didn’t like to flush so we would take the tank lid off to fix it and found mould behind the tank.

• Wardill (8/5): Surgery Stay - It was a great hotel. Nice and close to the Kingsway mall, the RAH hospital. The one chair I would have switched out to have one of the chairs that were in the lobby. The lobby ones were much better after surgery.

Didn't use the pool but everything was very clean and well supplied. Even the little store in the lobby has everything you might have forgotten.

The windows facing the hallways were a bit odd for privacy, and it could get loud when people were passing by your room. It would also be nice to have an included breakfast.

• Rochelle (9/5): A very nice stay - Room was clean and a good amount of space for a standard double queen room. The beds were super comfortable, and the waterslide is really fun. The pool is a nice temperature, and the hot tub is nice and hot. The fitness room has everything you need for a simple workout, although one of the Elliptical machines was broken. It's right across the street from a great mall work lots of options for food. I'm not sure if we just didn't see it, but the wing we were staying in didn't have an elevator. The chairs next to the table/desk were really low so it made using the table a bit awkward.

Previous hotel I stayed in nearby was gross, this hotel was a excellent experience in comparison. Include the breakfast for guests. Most hotels I stay in have it as included with the room. That's my only critique.
• Svetlana (6/5): Disappointing arrival to a dirty room, but nice responsive staff provided an alternative. - Staff was apologetic about arriving to a dirty room (towels on floor, bed obviously used... and it was nearly midnight when all we wanted was to go to sleep.) They were responsive and gave us an upgrade as no more of those rooms (double queen) were available. Arrived exhausted at nearly midnight to a dirty room with towels on the floor and unmade beds. Layout of the hotel.. to get to the first room it was faster to exit the lobby/building, cross a slushy parking lot to get to another wing.

• Brittney (9/5): Wonderful stay! - The amenities made this stay wonderful- we loved the gym, pool, waterside and hot tub. The beds were very comfortable so we had a perfect rest. It is becoming more dated, could use an upgrade with carpeting but this didn't affect the quality of our stay.

• Jacqueline (9/5): - We were having an operation at The Royal Alex hospital. Especially in winter, this was a perfect location. Took 5 minutes to get there. Room was very comfortable. Comfy bed and pillows. We ate at the Runway restaurant which is hooked to the hotel and had a delicious supper without starting the car. Which was nice when it was so cold out. Looks like it’s a popular stay for anyone with an operation scheduled or has to stay in city one night after an operation.

• cdnart2018 (6/5): Where's the Breakfast? - This Best Western Plus does not have the customary hot breakfast buffet which is the reason we had booked a Best Western for our stay. We lost a half hour of sleep each day because we had early morning meetings and still needed breakfast. Cooked to order takes more time than buffet. The other issue we had was if we wanted to have our room tidied up, we had to leave a hanger on the door, but they did not have the do not disturb/clean room sign in our room

• beli32 (8/5): Better than expected - I needed to stay here due to a medical appointment that was close by. I’ll admit I was hesitant to book. I stayed years ago and it wasn’t great (dated room and uncomfortable bed). I’m a platinum member and requested a quiet room in the main building. Happy to say my request was fulfilled! I was given Room 128 - on the main floor, long walk down a corridor to get there (I didn’t mind), and it was a single queen bed in a corner style room. It was small but conveniently laid out. Had a fireplace which I couldn’t figure out but too lazy to call the front desk lol. It was clean, updated, and for the most part, quiet (it’s far away from the pool so you don’t hear any of that noise). It’s right across from Kingsway Mall so it’s walkable to get there. There were a few addicts hanging around the bus terminal but I didn’t feel unsafe in the area (I talked to the front desk to ask if it was safe to walk and they reassured me). There is a lovely restaurant on the top level with a great view of the city. The breakfast isn’t free, but it’s reasonably priced ($9.99 gets you a lot of choices). It’s very worth it to pay for breakfast. Service was great and the food excellent. Made me wish I hadn’t ate at the mall the evening prior. It’s definitely not the fanciest BW that I’ve stayed at, but it’s reasonably priced, clean, and convenient. I would stay again.
