Guest Reviews
- Alex (10/5): -
- Monique (4/5): - The location of the room was perfect. It was a pet friendly room, but we were able to leave our doggo home. I would absolutely book the same room again, with some exceptions. We are smokers, and it was super convenient to just step outside. There was no body wash for the shower.
The bottom lock on the window was broken.
There was a smell in the room...I'm sure it was from someone else's pet stay.
The bathroom vent fan did not work.
I would absolutely book this same room again with these exceptions.

- Katherine (6/5): - Ease of checking in. Back entrance to get in where told to park was not shoveled.
The breakfast selection was not what I remembered from previous stays.
- Svetlana (7/5): -
- Andrea (6/5): -
- Dung (8/5): It was good. - The room was clean and simple and easy access to what I needed. Building seems dated, could use a refresh inside and out.
- Kathleen (1/5): Worst motel I've ever stayed at will never stay again - Nothing Everything, place was disgusting
- Nancy (9/5): -
- Sophia (5/5): I wouldn’t stay at this best western again. - The beds felt like they were concave in the middle, the bathrooms had zero ventilation so when you showered it steamed up the entire room, the toilets felt high up but the sinks super low, everything felt dirty. Like not dirty to the point of disgusting but like they do the bare minimum when cleaning. Dead bugs all over the tile of the entrance to the stairs etc.
- William (4/5): It wasn't worth the price - Breakfast wasn't ready before checkout Beds and pillows were hard and uncomfortable
- Kohli (10/5): excellent - Customer service was excellent. I had the pleasure of meeting Rebecca, Sabastian, and a member of the cleaning staff, and each of them was professional, kind, and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, and the location was convenient and made my stay even better. NA
- Dennis (9/5): -
- Elizabeth (8/5): -
- George (4/5): We were disappointed. - Location was good. The shower curtain was ridiculously short allowing water flood all over the floor! There was only one chair for two people. The television did not allow for broadcast stations and desk. People did not know how to remedy.
- Julie (8/5): -
- Courtney (3/5): it was a place to stay for the night, but was nothing elaborate - The pool was very cold, the ceiling was falling down, and the window was open to the pool. it was -4 degrees outside. The beds were very uncomfortable, and not a lot of charging options
- Rowena A (7/5): -
- Anthony (7/5): -
- Joanna (1/5): Terrible will never stay again and wouldn't recommend - Pool not open our entire reason for booking at a hotel with a pool as we have an autistic son.
Breakfast area trashed by unattended children. children there for a hockey tournament screaming yelling and running through the halls all evening slamming doors and knocking on our door and running away.
Shower drain in room plugged, water wasnt draining
- Stephen (10/5): - Clean hotel at great price with breakfast Nothing
- Z9836PBkathys (4/5): Comfortable but need some serious upgrades - Our room was clean and it was comfortable however this healing showed some water damage where it was yellowed and discolored and peeling. Our bathroom door knob was broke and almost hanging. The ice machine on our floor did not work at all. The microwave overheated so we can only use it in 3 minute intervals and head to wait 7-8 minutes in between to continue to use it. The pool was closed and we were not made aware of this prior to our arrival that was disappointing as we did expect to use it on the one night we were there. Breakfast was ample but nothing was hot, there was no bread or English muffins for toast with our breakfast and the juice was watered down severely. The staff was courteous and friendly and when there was no milk for our cereal for breakfast the desk clerk did run to the store and came back with milk for us. This hotel needs some serious upgrades especially since the new hotel down the street has the same exact rates for a much nicer and more comfortable stay.
- Kathy (6/5): The room was clean & comfortable, and adequate for our one night stay - Room was comfortable and clean The door knob on bathroom was broke. The ice machine on floor did not work. The pool was closed due to broken doors but we were not informed of this prior to our arrival. The coffee maker in the lobby did not work. The juice at breakfast was watered down. Eggs and sausage at breakfast were cold and no microwave to warm up. No bread or English muffins for toast. There was no milk breakfast but the desk staff ran to store for us and brought milk. Some general maintenance would make a big difference.
- Alan-Penfield_3 (2/5): End of an era - We have family in Saranac Lake and have been visiting this motel for many years. At one time it was a nice place to stay. Not anymore. Generally dirty and badly in need of extensive rehabbing and general maintenance. It is not worth the savings compared to other area motels/hotels.
- PHILIPPE (2/5): - hôtel vieillot
- heysamoyano (2/5): A rough night. - My worst hotel stay ever. The only good thing was the friendly front desk clerk. I got to the hotel late after visiting Whiteface Mountain since I didn’t want to drive 4.5 hours home. Everything else was booked, so I paid $260 for one night in a pet-friendly room. I’ve never seen anything like it. The carpet was dirty with bits of plastic wrap everywhere. The armchair was gross and stained, and the coffee maker looked rotten. Super disgusting. The beds were okay, and the bathroom was just mediocre; you couldn’t shower without making a mess. I took my toddler to the pool, but it was freezing cold, even though it was supposed to be heated, and it smelled super strong of bleach. My husband asked the front desk about it, and she insisted it was heated. I called the front desk to complain about the room. They offered to switch my room or give me a different seat, but I turned it down since I was only there for one night. They also mentioned talking to the owners about a discount, but I haven’t heard anything back yet.
- 3booths (2/5): Poorly managed, housekeeping seriously understaffed, NO ELEVATOR -- NOT WORTHY OF HIGH BEST WESTERN STANDARDS - We are Best Western Platinum members and have stayed at dozens of BW properties over many years. This was our WORST experience with a BW hotel (or ANY hotel for that matter). On a Wednesday afternoon, we booked on-line around 1 pm. We arrived around 4 pm. The front desk rep took an inordinate amount of time on his computer trying to find a room for us. We asked for a first floor room. He replied that none had been cleaned. We quickly surmised that there was a severe housekeeping understaffing. The rep then advised that he was going to personally check rooms for us. He left the desk and was gone for at least FIVE minutes. People on line behind us were asking why he left his post. When he finally returned he booked us into a room on the second floor. When we asked for the location of the elevator, we learned for the first time that there is NO ELEVATOR. We are seniors with mobility issues. He advised us that the only way we would have a first floor room was to wait in the lobby for a half hour while a room was cleaned. After being on the road all day, we wanted to simply check in. In spite of our mobility limitations we hauled our luggage up two flights of stairs to the second floor. On opening the room door, we saw that beds had not been made and housekeeping had not touched the room. The front desk rep had LIED TO US when he stated he had personally checked that room! We hauled our luggage across the building and down another two flights of stairs. There were no other rooms ready for occupancy and the rep agreed to process our refund. We took seats in the lobby and began a search for other accommodations, all of which were pricier. We also did not want to get back on the road. While we searched, the rep advised that he had suddenly found a clean room on the first floor. Not wanting to take chances on find another hotel, we agreed and we unpacked. A half hour later we had problems with two of the three lamps in the room. I returned to the front desk. The rep LIED TO US A SECOND TIME. He stated there were no spare light bulbs in stock, something that never happens in a large hotel. He offered to move us to another room. Having just unpacked, we were not inclined to repack and then start over in another room. I asked if he would take two working lamps from another room and swap them out in our room. He then stated that by that time the hotel was fully booked and could not switch lamps (which only meant that if he moved us to still another room, a new guest would be dealing with the lamp problem in our room). By now the entire hotel experience had turned into one serious and surreal experience after another. The rep did suggest that we speak with manager Rebecca in the morning who would most likely not charge us for the room. The following morning, Rebecca was not in. I spoke with another gentleman and stood at the front desk for nearly 20 MINUTES while he typed an email to ownership recounting all of our serious inconveniences, not including this additional twenty minute inconvenience. Several hours later I received an email offering a 25% discount on our hotel bill. This was unacceptable and certainly not commensurate with the extent of the inconveniences we suffered. I sent an email in reply. I then called the hotel and had a cordial conversation with Rebecca who had arrived after our check-out. Shortly later I received an email confirming we would NOT be charged for our hotel stay.
- Debra (5/5): Disappointed - Bed was comfy Pool wasn't heated
Door to room wouldn't shut properly
The ice machine on our floor was broken
No elevator
- Ann (10/5): - Indoor pool was too cold for kids. Very disappointing. The check in lady was great!
- Anabela (6/5): OUTDATED - Very outdated and was given a handicap room with bo shower door or curtain - so strange!!!
- Noreen (8/5): - Breakfast was terrible. Cold eggs, sausage. No toast, bagels.
I would go back but plan on out for breakfast which we did this trip.
- Janet (8/5): - The location is great. Nice place.
- Karyn (5/5): Won't stay again but it wouldn't kill me if I had to. - Didn't have any, didn't appear appetizing. Coffee in the dark hallway. Needs a major overhaul. Paint peeling, wallpaper peeling, old smell, dark.
- 120thek (2/5): apparently had a double booking that I clarified with the desk clerk at time of check in and only used one room. - Charged for 2 rooms when only used one. Staff was aware and corrected it but management felt the need to charge me anyway and override the staff. they charged me manually after the fact.
- Wilmer (10/5): - Good
- Ginger (2/5): - We left day early - bathroom door was moldy, tv iffy, room cabinets warped. There was no problem with refund when I showed registration photos of the damage.
- Linda (5/5): - Location. Friendly staff. Sad breakfast. Out of many choices.
- Jennifer (10/5): - The staff was very nice and hard working. Room was clean and comfortable. Great location, close to hiking/biking. I definitely recommend.
- Joyce (2/5): - Sheets and towels are worn and not white so must not be bleached. Tv small door didn't lock.
- Laurie A (8/5): - It's nice that it's across the street from Lake Flower. Check in staff was very nice and helpful.
- Christie (2/5): - Not clean ,smelled very bad ,musty ,moldy ,thought about sleeping in my car. Water stains on bathroom ceiling, dusty coffee maker, hallway smelled like the strongest of Ax mens spray.Breakfast there was enough mix for 1 waffle, then ran out at 6:30am.sausage was not brown ,it was cold. I would not stay at this location again. Needs to be updated, new floors, get rid of the old carpet, paint and clean the room .
- Libby (8/5): Comfortable visit - Our stay was ok. Pleasure trip during leaf peeping season. Beds were comfy. Room was ok. Breakfast questionable. Upon arrival the night before, the breakfast bread box was housed on the floor in the front desk area. The breakfast prep area for staff is a small closet that looked to be very unkept/unsanitary. This hotel is older and has been somewhat renovated. The ice water available at the front desk was wonderful. This property is near a beautiful walking/biking trail which we enjoyed. Not many staff working however those we ran across were pleasant.
- Larry (8/5): - Okay
- Jim (6/5): EV chargers no longer available here - Listing mentioned electric vehicle EV chargers at hotel, but they are no longer working, bummer! Hotel is pretty dated, could use updates. Furst room i wss assigned had flooded bathroom. But im still giving it 3 stars because guy at front desk was super helpful, second room he gave me was fine, and breakfast was fine.
- gary (2/5): - Everything is very old and dated. Sheets are worn thin and dingy. Flooring is worn and dirty. No USB ports and limited electrical outlets. Lighting is only 3 table lamps so room is dark.
- Tara (10/5): - Awesome stay
- Emerick (6/5): - There was no food one hour after the start of it>
- Bartlomiej (10/5): - ok
- John (6/5): - Pluses
Staff was helpful
Location good for town and bike trail
Deltas
Room had a significant musty odor
Room service was missed on one day
- mcmac53 (6/5): meh - It's pretty good, but having my wife leave the room to check on breakfast and have her come back and complain isn't good. Oh, well. Mostly good.
- RICHARD HARRY (2/5): - The smell in the room was terrible, dirty carpets, couldn’t bring ourselves to spend the night there!
- Carol (10/5): - The customer service was excellent!
- James (10/5): - Nice staff. Breakfast.
- Phyllis (8/5): - Breakfast - change /alternate what’s offered every other day maybe for variety
- Robert (4/5): - Location was good.
Breakfast room was fair. But not as clean as it should have been.
Ice machine was not working and had a Temporary out of order sign on it as did the washing machine and a few other things that were out of order for some time by looking at the condition of the tape and the signs they had been there awhile.
- Katherine (6/5): -
- Anjali (2/5): - Not as clean as the amount they charge for the stay. Rooms were smelly. Also, be aware of doing any credit card transactions. They charged my credit card even though the room was pre-booked through Expedia.
- 821dwightz (4/5): Very over priced - Very over priced for the quality of what you get. Bad lighting in the room. TV hard to work. shower leaks, breakfast was minimal at best.
- Shanta (10/5): My weekend in NY - I was in town from Wisconsin visiting my son. The staff was great, and the hotel room was clean. I enjoyed my stay.
- Christina (4/5): - 1st room given clearly had just had someone sitting on the bed with the bed set up for sitting - and was not ready-staff then went and "checked" the room -then said the room was ready-how could it be cleaned in the 5 minutes they spent "checking" it?! Bizarre!!! They just fluffed up the bed that someone had been sitting on and said the room was ready! It was 2 hours past check in time. I refused the room because I thought it would be gross to sleep in a bed someone had just been sitting on or doing whatever. I was given a new room that was better. Entire building needs a deep cleaning and furniture in my room was dingy, scratches in the table. Others mentioned the blast of bleach smell when you walk into the place - it is because the laundry is next to reception. Also beware - the coffee at the breakfast comes out of a Nescafe machine...I couldn't drink it. There is a Keurig in the room also luckily. It was quiet and I did sleep so if that is all you need this is your place.
- Gloria (5/5): Hotel needs updating - Very sparce not replenished The pool was freezing
- Mackenzie (2/5): - There were bed bugs, mold in the shower,
- Gregory (2/5): Not a great hotel - Location We checked in at 5pm and our room wasn't ready. We had to wait around 20 minutes for them to finish cleaning. When we did get to our room it smelled damp and like stale smoke. The bed was not supportive and made my back hurt. The breakfast was not appetizing. The whole hotel was very dark. There weren't any screens on our window so we couldn't let fresh air in to help get rid of the awful smell.
- Michael (2/5): Most likely won't stay at BW in future. - Location Floor was damp, black stuff hanging from the ceiling, bugs on floor of bathroom
- Paige (8/5): - The property and rooms were clean. Not new, but not bad either. I was disappointed in the morning staff. They had the “stepped away from the desk” sign up, but were in the back room behind the desk just hiding with the lights off. The evening staff was much better and more attentive. I did not attend breakfast, but heard the food was scarce.
- Kelsey (2/5): - Our room was signed off to someone else under MY name. They gave us another room and it smelled like mold and the shower flooded the bathroom floor!
- Robert (10/5): - Nice surroundings. Parking close by.
Staff erratic: some good, some not so much
Room smelled of mildew.
Poor lighting.
Drab bedding.
- B7007WMrobertt (6/5): OK but not great - While the hotel was reasonably clean, it smelled of mildew. After first night, person who cleaned our room left no toilet paper and toilet paper dispenser was broken. Free breakfast was OK, but apples were rotten, eggs were powdered, and juice was watered down. On the plus side, person who cleaned room second day came back at our request to clean up accidental spill and couldn't have been nicer. Apparently, hotel is short on staff, given Trump administration crackdown on undocumented immigrants.
- Debbie (2/5): - We stayed in room 107 the toilet was wobbly and the shower cutain was stained and smelled mildewy. They cleaning people only brought in clean towels every day, but did not clean the room or change the bedding. The breakfast room were dirty, only the desk clerk working so the tables were never cleaned. When i checked out a note was on the desk that they clerk has step away so i left the key on the desk with 5 other key from others guest. For 572 dollars it was nit worth it, we expected more from best western. Needless to say I will not be stay at best Western again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Coffee machine was tempermental
Telephone cord and headboard was dusty
Tile missing in bath ceiling
Not all rooms have extra chair
Employees VERY friendly
Breakfast very good
- Carol (6/5): - Total property needs updating! Frogs in the pool area. Coffee was not good!
- Roger (5/5): Bare minimum clean and comfortable hotel for a stay in Saranac. - The room itself seemed pretty clean. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had hot water. The hotel was pretty close to downtown Saranac. The hotel in general seemed a little rundown. When we checked in the lights in the pool area were flickering. The carpets in the halls seemed a bit dirty and had a strange smell. The breakfast area also seemed very dirty and messy.
There were signs of water damage on many of the ceilings and walls.
- James (5/5): - Staff was friendly The room was not cleaned, no new sheets or towels, no garbage removal , after day one of a two day stay. We had to ask staff for fresh towels (which were provided), but no other service provided to the room.
- Donna (6/5): - Lobby area was dark. Check-In was chaotic- had to find another room. Room had a strong odor upon entry. Bathroom was small, counter low and ceiling looked unclean. Beds were ok. Breakfast was minimal.
- Matthew (4/5): - Shower dirty and broken. Very strong incense smell that gave everyone headaches
- Tomlinson (6/5): - Our room was open at the moment of arriving. The carpet had a feeling like it was wet. The room was humid.
The coffee maker was not working. The breakfast was poor.
- Dixit (8/5): - Good place to relax and take a stop!
- Julie (6/5): - I guess it’s not expensive and it’s ok for the price.
- Q5228XEkatew (6/5): An affordable choice for the area - Friendly staff, good location. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable and hotel is really quiet. I got an amazing night's sleep! The smell of cleaning products was very strong upon arrival but the windows do open so we were able to get ventilation and it was fine after a few minutes. Signs of aging and definitely not fancy but a solid comfortable place to spend an evening.
- daniel (6/5): - Check in was fine and staff was friendly and professional, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was marginal in quality and quantity. Oatmeal packets, honey oat cereal and cocoa puffs were the only (sugary) cereal options. Waffle maker provided. Bagels and white bread were the only toast options. No pastry or muffins. Yogurt thru a dispenser. No fresh fruit. Though there was a duel heated tray apparently intended for eggs on one side. None were offered both days we stayed. On the other side were biscuits one morning and sausage links the next. (Im not sure why biscuits would be offered without eggs or gravy). No lids for coffee are provided. Room was clean. Bed was better than average. TV worked fine. The refrigerator was fine, though a lot of buildup of ice on the mini freezer door. There looked to be unfinished work in our bathroom with a couple of large patches on the drywall. All of the above would not deter me from staying again. However, the following is a deal breaker. The room we had was humid. There is definately a moisture issue. We hung our towels, but they never dried. After walking on the carpet, we could feel the moisture on our socks. Clothes in our suitcase were not as fresh as when we packed them. After two days, the envelope supplied to leave a tip (which we did), was the texture as paper left in a musty basement. For this reason alone, we would never return without assurances the moisture issue was fixed.
- Kathleen (4/5): - Unfortunately this hotel has seen better days. It is in rough shape and definitely needs to be spruced up. When we arrived it smelled of urine in the hall. Perhaps from a dog accident. It did get cleaned up during our stay, but that was very off putting. The front desk folk were nice and welcoming and we have no complaints about the service. This place definitely needs to be updated though
- faitht649 (2/5): Never again!! - Totally outdated room. Only modern thing was a keurig machine and the television. Bathroom wall was down to sheet rock above the mirror!! Mold/mildew all around the tub. No bath mat even though I asked for one with the maid service. Got locked out of room due to faulty electrical unit on door. they did promptly fix it but WOW...office/desk staff clearly didn't understand me when I told her it wasn'st a card issue (we got into the building...not the room!). But....off she went with new cards for us.Even though we both told her, it's a door problem. Breakfast was just awful. NO protein choices. ALL white carbs. Coffee is sub-standard and NO nut based milks or ANYTHING for a vegan or plant based diet. Just appalling. AND both ice machines were broken after day 1 there. I will NEVER use Best Western again. Ever. I do have to say that the one woman on Monday afternoon was very nice and polite at the desk. And the outside of the building is charming. But they need new management and a total make over. Room smelled musty the entire time and the carpet always felt damp.
- clay (2/5): - This place is convenient and perfectly located in between Saranac and Lake Placid. However the hotel itself is rundown. The room smelt moldy and dirty. The shower was fithy. The hotel had very little to offer. Their breakfast included of bagels/toasts/cereal and some fruits available. The eggs were not edible. I refused to eat it as it looked like it was plastic and fake. They did not have regular coffee as they ran out and only had decaf our whole stay there. Overall, it was not worth what they are charging for. I am disappointed with Best Western to allow their name to be used.
- Ed (4/5): - The property was very outdated. Picnic had broken leg and was being held up by four rock. Grounds unkept. Dirty rugs.
- Margaret (6/5): - Room was comfortable. Sink drained slowly and left a note about that. Loved the bathing products provided in the shower.
Breakfast was poor because it was not attended to. Eggs and biscuits were cold and eggs were almost depleted at 8am and breakfast ran til 9:30.
Waffle maker needs to be looked at...couldn't read the timeout on the machine to know when to turn the waffles over. Yogurt machine made noises so my granddaughter didn't use it.
- Jimmy (10/5): - Great location!
- Wayne (6/5): - This place needs some serious updating and cleaning.
- Kathy (3/5): Would not recommend to anyone - Location Loud AC. Fridge never got cold so was unusable. Big problem for us. Staff not friendly. Room not ready for check in. Hotel seems way understaffed.
- NIcholas (4/5): - bed needed a blanket not just a sheet
- meganbA6394ZW (2/5): Extreamly unsafe - When I showed up the hotel was dirty. The bathroom was filthy and shower had dirt all over it. Not one single person who worked there was the same person over my 4 day stay. Not one single employee had a name tag or wore a uniform. The room cleaners were only men. They didnt speak english and were hanging about the rooms listening to music but werent actually cleaning. I spoke to a lady who was checking out when I did and she said upon arrival her room was dirty, bedding not cleaned etc and a boy who was also checking out told me he had left his room a few times and locked the door and when he came back his room door was unlocked and open. When I arrived I asked the front desk how safe it was and he said it was safe, they have never had any issues. When I got to my room my window was unlocked and open. This window was bug enough for anyone to get in and out of. Housekeeping should be making sure windows and locked and shut before a guest comes into that room and the blinds should be open so people can see that its closed and the blind was shut most likely in hopes that we wouldnt check it but thankfully we knew enough to do so. I immediately did not feel safe. On my last night there I was sleeping and at 2am a man in his 50-60s and a younger boy 15-16 were trying to get into my hotel room. I woke up freaking out. It was just my mom and I and the man was able to get into our room. Luckly we had the latch on the door but the man used his hand to push the latch back to get into our room. We tried calling the front desk and there was no answer. I tried calling out to the police and operator and the main hotel line and the phone didnt work. I ended up calling the police from my cell phone and when they arrived they told me that my room was booked and that we shouldnt have been in there yet the hotel its self actually messed up and they shouldnt have had double booked the room. Had they actually double booked the room my key card wouldnt havent worked and it was still working. And the guy who tried to get into my room couldnt get in at first and tried a few times and had walked away and came back and tried again and then got in a second time. The girl who was at the front desk knew 2 females were in the room and she was about 20, she was in a baggy tshirt and track pants and slippers (running the midnight shift) and said claims she let the man in our room meanwhile she was never actually to be seen until the police came. The police couldnt do much and the man claimed he didn’t know someone was in the room. If there is a latch on the door Im not sure how you dont see that someone is in the room. Earlier that day the girl at the reception told me they didnt have any toilet paper and within a minute found me and myroom , not sure how she knew which room and handed me toilet paper. The girl knew I was a young female myself in the room and most likely assumed I was alone. She could have given this man any info and this could have been an inside job. I went to leave the next morning and of course no one was at the front desk for 15 mins. I went to the back room as I heard music playing and approached an employee folding towels who claimed she didnt speak english and refused to help me. I found out the manager was out shopping and wouldnt be back for a while so I sat waiting to check out and informed the ‘manager’ of what happened upon his arrival. He said he got a call at 2am from the girl at the front desk but was sleeping and chose not to answer! He said the girl was new on reception this was her first night shift and didn’t know what she was doing. He claims she had only been with the company for 2 weeks and wasnt trained properly. He said that it was a man and woman who thought they were checking into our room which made no sense as there was no woman it was a man and a teen who had no luggage on them. No one checks in at 2am and no one checks in before 3pm at any hotel so this wasnt a mistake. This was an inside job done on purpose. The manager claimed that the owner likes to run the hotel his way not by best practices which is not ethical. This was very insafe and not acceptable. This is not a place you want to stay. Its dangerous. A lot of men stay here for work out of town, alot of men who dont speak english, and a lot of men who are immigrants. Our room was also right beside the back door which was an easy exit and enterance for anyone trying to break in.
- Roman (8/5): Very good -
- brigitte (6/5): - I was expecting more for the money. I know it’s a very touristic area and price inflation is part of it. The first room they offered smelled so bad we couldn’t even walk in. The one washer on our floor was out of order. Breakfast was really sub-par. The only positive was the location. I probably wouldn’t return.
- Abigail (4/5): location is the main attraction. - location was good, and the exterior was so cute! lobby was nice and the fish tank looked clean and well-maintained. It was so dark everywhere! Not enough lights in the room or hallways. The pool water was frigid. The breakfast bar was poor quality, and all the waffle items (syrup, cups, spray and griddle) were out but there wasn't any batter. the staff member just said "there wasn't any" batter. The cereal was stale and damp. The bathroom was super-cramped and there wasn't an exhaust fan to pull out the humidity so the room was a mess. We didn't get any housekeeping service. The outdoor bench and tables were broken and looked crazy
- Seamus (6/5): - Staff was nice. Rooms and hallways smelled musty or too strongly of cleaning agents. Good location and right across the street from lake.
- Jeffery (6/5): - A good area and had a restaurant/bar on walking distance for food and drinks if you wanted to. Very busy place but I got a room with horrible beds, besides that everything else was spot on very nice place
- Patricia (9/5): Location was the main reason I stayed there - Location was great walking distance to main street and close to trails and Lake Placid.
The breakfast was not that appetizing ...Sausage and oatmeal on the hot plates, cereal and apples...Oranges and banana would have bee appreciated and maybe yogurt and egg or some other form of protein... waffle maker wasn't working while I was there. I stayed there mostly for the location. Breaffast was in need of eggs working waffle maker, and maybe more than just Apples in way of fruit. The oatmeal was all they had hot and it was gross...not one of the best CONTINENTAL HOTEL breakfasts I have encountered
- Jeff (6/5): - It was not the best the beds are hard and very uncomfortable, however everything else was decent.
- Kevin (4/5): - stayed for 3 days never cleaned the room or brought towels never empty the waste can continental breakfast was marginal
