Guest Reviews
- Tony (10/5): -
- Amber (7/5): - Good location while interstate was shut down
- Chad (10/5): -
- Everett (5/5): - Can yotext me invoice for6 last 4 transactions
- Sandra (7/5): Okay for one night - Close to main highway. Near truck stop. Nice and warm once the heat came on. Manager wasn’t really friendly but he did help us with heating. Kind of dreary room but comfortable. I believe the carpet in room was new so maybe that was the not so nice smell. Bath water coming out was discolored. Breakfast (I didn’t see room) was sparse. $25.00 pet fee.
- Todd (8/5): - Vozy
- Susan (7/5): - Quiet, pet friendly Faucets in bathtub did not work in rm 41, making bath impossible.
Breakfast was not available at 6 as posted.
- Todd (7/5): -
- Jill (5/5): Fair to bad due to breakfast experience. - Overnight Stay in room was fine. Breakfast was disgusting at best. Received a voucher to have bkfst at neighboring restaurant, basically a small buffet. Eggs were down to cold scraps; nothing was replenished when we came in. Meat was cold but had plenty. Fake orange juice. Owners just sat there, seeing our disgust but not offering anything fresh. Never would I suggest this stay expecting a good breakfast.
- Maksym (1/5): - Very disappointing experience. Do not recommend.
Upon arrival, the front desk administrator told me that my reservation had been canceled because the payment was not guaranteed. However, in the Booking app my reservation was clearly active and not canceled. The booking did not require prepayment and allowed free cancellation.
I tried for a long time to explain that this was not my mistake, but rather an issue on their side. Unfortunately, the administrator kept insisting that it was my fault. In the end, I had no choice but to pay separately for the room.
The situation became even worse due to the room conditions. The outside temperature was around 2°F, and the heating in the room was not working. The room was extremely cold — I had to sleep fully dressed. Throughout the entire night, the room never reached a comfortable temperature, and it was actually warmer in the hallway than inside the room.
Overall, a very unpleasant stay with poor service and unacceptable room conditions. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend this hotel.

- Curiosity05163440834 (10/5): Comfortable room right off of I-35 - Comfortable bed, nice hot shower, DirecTV, good variety for Continental Breakfast including make your own waffles. Close to two truck stops, closest one opening soon.
- Marianne (8/5): Very good for the price - Location and price
- Byron (3/5): Lousy, frustrating, stressful, poor sleep - Nothing about the stay. The room itself was a joke, straight out of the 1950's. Old lamps, old furniture, mediocre at best.
I made a reservation through Booking.com. The promotion said that I did not have to pay for the room in advance. I paid about $70 for the night online. Upon arrival at about 9 AM, the desk clerk told me that I did not have a reservation. Apparently the reservation did not "take" in the system.
Then the clerk refused to give me the price that I thought I had "locked in" through Booking.com, saying that the ONSITE rate was not the same as the online rate. This made no sense, and put the entire problem on MY shoulders. The clerk would NOT take any responsibility for the "lost" reservation. I had a confirmation number for that location for that night. That did not matter.
He never did explain why the reservation was not confirmed. But, I now realize that I probably made the reservation TOO LATE to hold it without paying upfront.
NOWHERE in the Booking.com promotion was the statement that the reservation WAS NOT GUARANTEED. Unless Booking.com wants to reimburse me for the entire amount I paid, $78.xx, I will not be using Booking.com to reserve anything, ever.
- Lawrence (10/5): Nice and relaxing - Friendly owners
- Ler (8/5): - It's a great place to stop by as an old motel.
Funny twist is I can heard a mouse whiles asleep.
- Lisa (4/5): - It was close to the freeway, easy on and easy off. It was disconcerting to have to check in over video chat since the person behind the desk spoke absolutely 0 English. Glad it was an one time experience!!!!
- Daniel (8/5): Stay was just OK. One night only - Immediately upon checking in, the clerk at the desk said that there would be a $20 fee for a pet, my dog. I made my reservation on the basis that the hotel charged $10 as advertised…the desk clerk wasn’t budging on the fee so I had brought the listing up for proof…he finally gave in. Otherwise, the rooms were great. Needing something to eat, I went to the vending machine which wasn’t working properly. The morning coffee pot was turned off and I scrambled to find the coffee and filters in the cabinets. After finding it the maid/housekeeper returned and wouldn’t allow me to make the coffee (I have the same coffee pot at home). She used only 1 scoop when I use 2 normally. She didn’t speak English so there was no way of communicating with her but she seemed bossy just the same.
- Dena (2/5): - Despite the Clean Air Act, this property allows smoking. They have a bar at one end where they allow indoor smoking, and, per management, rooms on both ends are designated as smoking. There is limited entry by an indoor hallway, which smells of smoke. I was not aware indoor smoking was allowed anywhere. I haven’t run into this since 2000.
I have serious asthma. I had been at a horse show all day and could not smell anything at all upon arrival. Once showered, it became quite clear I had a problem.
Additionally, I nearly ran them out of hot water in the course of an average shower.
The towels are threadbare and scratchy.
The bed was hard with old bedding.
Vending and ice are very loud and were nearly constant for the hour I was in the room.
He offered me a different room, but with smoking offered at both ends, it would make no difference.
I submitted a complaint to corporate. The franchise response was to say I was in the room for three hours and offer a partial refund. I was at the property for two hours, check in to returning to my car.
According to the truck stop employees, who expressed concern over my obvious asthma, the establishment has received numerous complaints. Drive on to Iowa Falls and stay there. They were booked up, or I would have.
- denas326 (2/5): Dangerous if asthmatic, worn out towels, old thin bedding, better off sleeping in my car. - This facility reeks of cigarette smoke in the public hallway and in the non--smoking room I was assigned. I did not know smoking is allowed in hotels. It is, but cannot affect areas other than designated rooms.
Smoking rooms are at both ends of the enclosed hallway, there is a smoking permitted bar at one end.
The hall smells of smoke. My room smelled of smoke.
Limited hot water in the shower.
Threadbare, scratchy towels.
Old bed and pillows, if you like sleeping on a rock, this will do.
Bedding, sheets, blanket, duvet all very thin and old.
Obvious plaster patching on the wall, didn’t even bother to paint over it.
I had a profound asthma attack. He was dismissive.
It’s bad when the truck stop employees are used to hearing complaints about the place. I’d have been better off showering at the Equestrian center and sleeping in my vehicle. Plan ahead and stay in Iowa Falls, 15 miles away.
- roy (4/5): - Very dated property. Unable to check-in early on-line.
- Gene (10/5): - Friendly. Convenient. Quiet.
- Jonathon (8/5): - The AC in the lobby was out which made the lounge hot in the morning.
- Keith (8/5): - Facility was clean but could use an update to property. Nice convenient property immediately from the interstate.
- Patricia (8/5): - All was good!
- Connie (8/5): - Was an old property you would drive by but our room was clean, bed comfy, and all things worked. Could use some new towels.
- Osmany (10/5): Good - Good Good
- cchopper (10/5): Wonderful surprise, we liked the room! - I was pleasantly surprised at this Super 8, so much better than most Super 8's. Room was very clean, hallway carpet looked fairly new and bright. The room was well lighted. Breakfast was decent, clean dining area. Beds were good. All plumbing worked good and hot water came fairly quick. Just a few miles to Webster city and a good restaurant. Room Rate was great for 2024
- Martin (10/5): - Caring
- Tamar (10/5): - Staff very helpful..love the text front desk sevice. Clean and spacious
- dhut827 (10/5): Nice motel - Nice quiet. Was able to get some sleep. The price was very reasonable. Breakfast buffet had alot of choices.
- Dawn (8/5): I’ll be back. - It’s an older hotel but well-kept and the price is right. The staff was very friendly.
- Victoria (7/5): For the money, should be prettied up a bit - It was perfectly adequate and clean and reasonably priced Dated and dingy looking and the view out the back has potential but needs some attention to make it look nice. Wide rubber barrier like a pool liner. It could be prettied up and updated- Breakfast was okay.
- Lora (6/5): Ok stay - Overall an ok place to stay. Bed was too hard for me, but I have a finicky back. There was only a old worn office chair to sit on in our room even though there was room to have some kind of chair/chairs for sitting on. Cleanliness was ok, I find that in the hotels I usually stay in need to invest in a crevice tool to get the edges of the room and halls. Otherwise it was clean and tidy, lots of warm water. A very no frills place to stay for a night. Manager was gracious.
- Kelly (4/5): It worked for a few hrs sleep. - Breakfast was skimpy and coffee was watery Reserved a king room, got a room with a single queen bed. Shower was like warm for a few minutes then cold.
- Jaclyn (3/5): Got what I paid for I guess. - Was cheap - had decent breakfast for the price you paid. Internet worked. Shower was clean. Wouldn’t honor a cancellation (had 3 rooms and needed to cancel 1) when booking.com emailed them. I also several days in advance and the refused to cancel or said the fee would be more then the room cost to rent for the night. The rooms are not clean - dirt, hair, food in between mattress and wall. Trash and toe nail clippings on floor. Smudges on walls and door, not sanitary. Sheets are stained (washed but stained).
- Matthew (4/5): - Hole in the wall property. Everything needs updating. Any hotel chain would be foolish to attach their name to this property.
- William (1/5): Don't use pet room-SMELLS - Individuals at desk nice. Pet room smelled, dog couldn't settle down. Haven't had any issues with this at other hotel pet rooms.
- Linda (6/5): - The room was COLD!! I called three times, and 3 different men came out, did something and left. The hall was warmer than my room!!!
- Andra (6/5): Pleasant - Location is right off the interstate. The staff were very nice. It needs some touching up. Breakfast was subpar
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The shower to even get lukewarm you had to leave cold water off, Wall mounted heat / air... turned on and off every minute no matter where the temp was set at. Sadly, it was not a restful or pleasant stay.
- mmmoore711mm (10/5): Warm Cozy Fuzzy type Great Breakfast - Warm Cozy Fuzzy is best description. A Great stay for rest and sleep, bad if you have somewhere to be next morning. Nice waffle juice fruit cereal toast muffin breakfast. So cozy u'll be late for work, i was.
- Brandy (8/5): - The hotel was nice. We had two rooms. They were comfortable.
- Jeff (8/5): - No close by places to eat.
- Holly (6/5): Pleasant -
- Rwmccormick (7/5): Good -
- Kathy (6/5): - There was food on the floor under the vanity, saw the big pretzel as we walked in. Hard to regulate the temperature in the room. Looks very old needs updated
- tcdecker (10/5): Great service with great integrity - We stayed as a church youth group. One young man left his phone, it was accidentally thrown in the trash. The staff located the phone and mailed it out with no charge to us. Very friendly people and
All around great stay!
- Ricardo (10/5): - Very clean and quiet and friendly
- John (6/5): Pleasant -
- Pj (1/5): This motel should lose its franchise with Super 8 - Picked for location and have always had clean facilities with Super 8. We don't need a fancy hotel with lots of amenities for overnight stays, but do expect cleanliness. This motel was filthy. We should have not checked in, the Lobby area was the cleanest part of the motel. An obviously new staff member did his best to rectify the situation Found a roach in the bathroom and the room was not clean. Decor was dated but that wasn't the issue, it was dirty, felt unclean. As we didn't check in until about 10pm, we were too tired to leave as the nearby hotel didn't give off good vibes. We slept a few hours with all the lights on ... Call me crazy, but if you see one roach....
- Catherine (2/5): The hotel clerk on duty was nice. The facilities need to be updated. - Property is run down. Smelled bad. Needs some work. Smells. Bed’s we’re old and not comfortable. Needs some updates.
- Bryan (8/5): - Affordable
- Joe (8/5): good stay overall - comfortable ran out of bananas and waffle mix by 8:30 when we were eating.
- Nancy (6/5): - The bathrooms really could’ve been cleaner and the water had a weird smell to it leaving a weird smell to my skin.not once did I wash my hair there... In the lobby it had a weird smell and there was people that lived there. Also the landscaping could be better. The hours for breakfast are ridiculously early 6am-9am.
- Karen (5/5): okay to stay if you are in a pinch! - location smell in the room - like mildew from the heater unit! it was very strong! and the dust was really bad like nobody had been in the room for weeks.
- Lucia (4/5): - The coffee was terrible, unable to drink it, the worst quality ever. At check out staff unable to produce a paid receipt?
- Tracy (5/5): Brief, difficult to sleep due to the location of the room next to the bar. - Cleanliness Room phones did not work
The beds were Like sleeping on just springs
The lounge was right next to our room loud music hard to get to sleep until 12am.
Breakfast was not as expected
- Gregory (10/5): - Clean
- Dieter (3/5): Poor - Basic and run down. A paper thin blanket doubles for a duvet.
Breakfast? The offerings are waffles, toast and cereal ... and sort of an undrinkable brown water from a dispenser machine.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): - Staff
- Debbie (1/5): Bad -
- Victor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cara (4/5): - Don't waste your time or money on this one. We were coming in late at night and figured it would be fine for a quick overnight stay. It was dirty and run down. The deadbolt on our door was missing. TV didn't work at all. The room did not even have the basics like tissue. Just drive on by!
- Kreampuff (10/5): Super 8 Williams - Everything was great. We had a late check-in after being on the road for several hours. Coffee was fresh and hot in the morning. Beds were comfy and the pillows soft. There was no compliments about the room or service.
- Cathy (8/5): Very good - They just made a mistake when the original booking was made I was supposed to have two nights and they only ended up making it for one but things worked out
- James (3/5): Poor -
- L4081BRmichaelw (4/5): Not what it used to be. - Rooms/hotel is dark and uninviting. Staff walks around barefoot. had cockroach in room. Bed was hard as a rock. Go to Webster City or whatever the next stop is this one isn't it. I had a crew of 6 up here and if we would have came back we would have went to Webster City.
- Judy (1/5): Did not stay Ask for Refund but would not give - this is not a true image of this facility. stains on mattress cover
- Chris (9/5): Superb -
- Kathy (4/5): Would not stay here again - We had to call at the front door to get let in. The clerk showed up barefoot in what looked like lounge pants or pajamas. The property was very shabby. The pillows were awful-lumpy and flat. The tub and sink were either stained or dirty.
- Aimee (6/5): - Carpet in my room was dirty. Walls in hallway dirty. Bed was comfortable though.
I didn't feel safe leaving my room, as a single gal with men sitting around outdoors. This place seems more for men working for companies whose people travel to work sites.
- theifetz (8/5): Basic but good - When you drive up to this hotel, you wonder if you made a big mistake. It does not look like much from the outside and there's really nothing around it. It's clearly an older property. The design is a bit strange... it looks like you'd enter the rooms from the outside... but there is a long interior hallway where you get into the rooms.
On the inside, the rooms are modern, large and comfortable. Everything worked as it should (although the A/C was a bit hard to manage). The people who work there (maybe the owners?) were very friendly. I would expect it to be a bit quieter since there is nobody above or below you. But it was a bit noisy.
Other than a couple of truck stops... there is nothing around here. But that's not a bad thing. It's really easy getting on and easy off I-35. Just make sure you eat beforehand. Speaking of eating, breakfast is sparse. They have waffles which is great. But otherwise there is not a lot.
Overall, I'd stay here again. It's just what I needed for a short stay on the road.
- janine (4/5): - The rooms were clean, however the overall facility needed updating. The outside of the place needed a paint job. Breakfastdisappointing d
- erfda48 (8/5): Pleasant and comfortable - Friendly staff. Recently renovated -- comfortable beds, new carpet. Three bath towels provided, but no hand towels. Couldn't adjust the temperature of the room at night. Breakfast consisted of two choices of juice, toast, waffles, two cereals and milk. I missed having bagels and/or yogurt.
- Brittaney (2/5): - This was the most dirty, disgusting hotel we have stayed in in a very long time!!!!!! Nothing like the pictures online!!!! Needles laying in hallways, outside on sidewalks…. WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN!!!!!
- Jeremy (10/5): Excellent motel - Nice older facility that's well maintained and equiped. Easy check in abd check out.
- George (4/5): Last Resort - Felt sketchy and unsafe to my wife. We thought we were booking at a Super 8 in Webster City, not across from a truck stop.
- Joseph (6/5): - Price was good. Ice machine broken. Electric heat turned off. It was a cold night.
- Derek (6/5): - The bathroom was very small ..the light was so dim you needed a flashlight
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Was just okay. The coffee was not good. Hard to understand the desk clerk.
Trash bins were full outside and had a very foul odor.
- SHELLY (6/5): Older But Great - It was an older hotel but over all it was great
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A property that fit the area
Easy access to I 35
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly
- Verified traveler (6/5): - This is a clean small Super 8 off of 35. They do a nice job.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Enough parking for car and Semi. Room was clean. Breakfast was good. Front.desk staff was super friendly and helpful.
- Anthony (10/5): Unassuming property - excellent stay - I enjoyed my stay. The property is well kept. The room was very clean and the care was evident. The customer service was attentive and professional. The managers really cared about how they represented the property. It was a great stay. Well done!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean quiet comfortable and great price.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Staff had a difficult time Communicating and were not flexible.
- hrstetler (8/5): Clean rooms & comfortable beds - Clean room and comfortable bed - quiet & good access to Interstate. The outside appearance is not that appealing but the inside seems to have been recently renovated. Overall an excellent stay and a good experience
- Rebecca (8/5): - The bathroom door needs to be repaired in the room I stayed in
- Ashish (4/5): Hotel staff staying next room were too noisy. - The only problem was that the room next door had someone flushing every 10 min. for the entire night. They literally flushed the toilet almost 100's of times until 9:30 am. It was extremely difficult to sleep due to the flushing noise.
- Kimberly (8/5): - Was very clean and friendly
- Zeth (6/5): - Easy check in. Older hotel. Get what you pay for. Parking fills up fast and can be dark.
- Kathy (10/5): - It was great.
- Jackie (4/5): - The bed had stains of all varieties, as well as I honestly don't what was coming out that faucet in the bathroom.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Only thing good were the friendly people. - The people were nice so its hard tp complain however i knew as soon ss we got in the room it was bad. Stains on chairs the paper was used from people before. It was late so we needed sleep. In am the tub ran for 30 mins before my son could bath the water ran black with ear wigs coming out of faucet and worse than that i have been breaking out with bites all over which i didnt have before!
- Patrick (10/5): - Was really pleased with how clean my room was as well as facility!!!!
- Shawn (6/5): - We needed a place to stay. It was at the right location. It wasn't the greatest or cleanliest, and smelled peculiar. Not nasty, or rotten or musty, just funny. The swing bar door lock was torn from the door frame, my guess would be from brute force. There was a stain on the comforter. However, I didn't feel particularly unsafe, nor did the room seem overly dirty. I would stay again in a pinch if I just needed a place to lay my head.
