Elke-Martina (9/5): Sehr schönes, optimal gelegenes Hotel mitten in Whitehorse - Das Hotel ist so optimal gelegen, dass Restaurants und die Main Street sehr gut zu Fuß zu erreichen sind. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und modern, das Personal überaus hilfsbereit, das Frühstück sehr umfangreich und sehr lecker. WLAN ist schnell und perfekt. Zahlreiche sehr gute Restaurants befinden sich in unmittelbarer Nähe. Ansonsten: Museen und Flughafen liegen so nah, dass ein Taxi oder Bus eine gute Option ist.

The bathroom was small with no space for a toiletry bag because of the large above counter sink that took all the space. The restaurant was good for breakfast, supper was a bit overpriced. Limited seating for a lounge area.

U7782FRnickm (8/5): Very helpful staff in a charming hotel that's not as huge and corporate as some - We spent 3 nights at the Gold Rush and enjoyed it very much. We had a snafu with our arrangements, so we had to book at another hotel for the last few nights. The management and staff at Gold Rush were very accommodating and helpful getting us to a new place. I would recommend Gold Rush Inn for a nice Yukon experience that's not as corporate as some of the others, very comfy and welcoming.
timdrewitt2 (2/5): Horrible, noisey, not clean, dated and staff that do not communicate or assist with issues. Do not stay. - We stayed here twice, once mid December and once at the end of December. Checking in was an issue. They were unable to locate either of our bookings. They then found them and were mixing them up with our later booking. The staff were rude and indignant and less than helpful. Moving on, we got to our rooms. The first stay, our room had 2 doubles in it, with absolutely no room to move. Only 2 cups were provided, the smell to the room was average. It was tolerable for the one night. We were travelling as 2 seperate parties. Upon checking out we made sure that our rooms were together/on the same floor and we guaranteed that we would be for our return in 4 days time. Upon checking in, we were on different floors. The staff did not care. The ‘family suite’ was anything but family friendly. The toilet not even bolted to the floor, it moves 20cm either way when you sit on it! Upon entering the room we were met with the stench of cigarette smoke, and excessive heat, as a floor heater had been left on and it was 29 degrees in the room! We opened the windows to get the smell out and cool the room down. The floor was still littered with previous guests rubbish, benches had grime, dust and food stuff uncleaned from them. The fridge was surprisingly clean! The couch has white stains on it, use your own imagination there. Peeling back the bed sheets revealed multiple strands of hair….we had not been in the bed! Add to this, the arctic gear we had hired and paid for 8mths ago, was not delivered to the hotel. The hotel reception were no assistance, and would not assist in calling or trying to source the missing equipment. They seemed completely out of their depth with how to manage issues. We requested a taxi be called, went back down, and once again, it had been forgotten…making us late for another appointment. The hot water in the shower took a good 10 minutes to start to come through. When reported to the front desk, they said no one could look at it until the next day. We had words, and they had someone look at it who said it was fine. Overnight, if you intend to sleep, bring headphones. It’s so bad the hotel provide ear plugs (only 1 set per room, so survival of the fittest). Constant noise outside the room at all hours of the night, talking, yelling, swearing….and the constant smoking explained why the room smelt of cigarettes! It was so bad I needed to move to another area. Add to all this, the carpet is stained, the walls damaged and stained, the tiles broken and more! Finally my wife was handed a letter cancelling our tour for that day, the morning of the tour…dated the day before. We had been at reception multiple times, and at no point did they give us the letter advising of the cancellation, they had ample opportunity, and no attempt was made to contact us, take it to our room, or advise us. In actual fact, they forgot to give us the letter at the desk, and called my wife back from up the stairs. Book at your own risk! We will not be back, and do not recommend it to anyone! Do not expect any level of customer service, comfort or cleanliness. Best western, lift your game. **Hats off, well done to the lady from Northern Tales Tours who tried to assist with the missing clothing, and hotel issues, despite it not being her problem or responsibility. She went above and beyond.

The staff member at the counter was extremely helpful, courteous, and genuinely friendly. They took the time to explain everything clearly, which made the entire process smooth and stress-free. The lobby was spotless, beautifully maintained, and featured a warm fireplace with a comfortable common area that made it easy to relax. The attached restaurant was also impressive — clean, inviting, with courteous staff and great food. It was a perfect addition to an already positive stay. Overall, exceptional service and a welcoming environment — highly recommended.

calgaryguy (8/5): Comfortable Stay in Whitehorse. - This was our second time here in the last couple of years. It is a good place to accommodate our tour of 33 people. We had one of the upgraded rooms which was quite pleasant and comfortable. Clean as well. We never have the staff come in during our stay so cannot comment on cleaning efficacy. Sleep was good and the restaurant served a good, if pricy, breakfast. Good location, close to everything in town. No complaints.

44patriciaannr (10/5): Perfect option to stay in Whitehorse - I have traveled the world for over 50 years (started young) and have never experienced such excellent staff (hotel, not restaurant) as I have here. Facility is a little worn but comfortable, accessible to town, base for excursion pick-ups, clean, great value for dollar and generally quiet (but they provide earplugs). I would definitely stay here again. Only missing and desired item was a room safe. Friendly and great introduction to Canadian hospitality.

Prabh and Kusum always make my day by greeting me very personally and are always there to help and assist in anything i might need. They both go above and beyond for whatever is asked of them and do it always with a smile, professionalism and passion.

Amie (10/5): - This is the best hotel to stay in Whitehorse even though it isn’t cheap. It is clean, quiet and at the end of the main strip so it’s close to the shops, restaurants and river. There is also a shuttle bus to and from the airport which is great. Make sure to visit “La Cara” a Mexican restaurant, “Burnt Toast” for breakfast/brunch and “Baked” for excellent coffee and baked goods.

Opted for stairs access to our room on 3rd floor rather than wait for the one lift which was always crowded and in demand at busy times. Location and wi fi reception were good and another luggage rack would have been helpful. Sleep comfort was good and we encountered the smallest bathroom on our travels. Breakfast was provided to tour groups in a separate room and it was very average with a very small choice of fruit and no yoghurt.

Marianne (10/5): - This was literally a very last reservation for us. We made the decision to stay in Whitehorse and 20 minutes later we walked in. It was a perfect room for our family of 3 that has been on the road for 35 days with over 6,000 miles. Good laundry, quiet room, the staff was great and all the beds were comfortable!

The quality of bathrooms varied considerably with one being excellent in one being average and the third being below average. The third room I had had a large air conditioner taking up the bulk of the floor space. I paid the same for all three rooms!

Janice (10/5): - The room was comfortable and we were able to settle in quickly. It was clean throughout the room and the main lobby. Checking in took us almost an hour because they were trying to find us a room (context: we booked 2 Queens & were originally offered 2 twins at check in which isn’t feasible for a family of 4). When we arrived we didn’t realize they only have 1 elevator which is small and could only accommodate a small group of guests at a time. So waiting for the elevator could take 5-30 minutes depending on how many people were in line in the lobby, so we ended up opting for the stairs instead. Overall the room was comfy and updated which was nice to have during such a long road trip. The staff was nice and trying to be as helpful as they could be. Parking is down the street which we didn’t know until we got there. Breakfast & dinner at the saloon wasn’t bad just a little pricey.

Lauri (8/5): - Does NOT have on site parking. It’s STREET parking and you have to feed the meters. Homeless people around property. Parking is not so safe either, hotel makes you to sign a waiver that they are NOT responsible for loss of items. So they know the problem. Hotel itself is clean, breakfast is not included.
Brian (4/5): - No onsite parking, parking is paid by meter in front of hotel, only one luggage cart which was way small to begin with, I didn’t find a ice machine or a pop machine, food wasn’t all that great in the restaurant and the service was even worse
Phillip (6/5): - I arrived 10 mins before check-in time, told my room wasn’t ready. Came back 40 mins later, room still wasn’t ready. Came back again and guess…room not ready! 😡 I don’t know how they stay in business! I talked with 2 other people having the same problem & another who found someone already in the room they were given. The guy at the desk was blaming “housekeeping” for all of it. Wrong. Management. For the price it was overrated to me.

We were on the 4 th floor with tons of luggage. no option ,but to wait. Some language barrier with front desk.

Cindy (6/5): - I arrived late (after 11 pm) from a long drive-only to discover children running up and down hallway without supervision. Reported it to front desk, but about 15-20 minutes later again, children running around. I asked if there are quiet hours at the hotel, but was informed by front desk they didn't know. I was right in front of the elevator - so there was added traffic after midnight and around 6am...so limited sleep in that room. One thing I would have appreciated was a door hanger that says something to the effect of "Quiet please - weary traveller at rest"...I know when I see these door hangers, I try to be extra mindful to be quieter. As for the children, perhaps parents need to see visuals of "Parents, please ensure your children do not roam or run in hallways" or something for all guests posted in the elevator to say "Welcome Guests, you will be happy to know that quiet hours are 11 pm so that you and all guests can enjoy a restful sleep". Finally, came to take a bath this morning - and my tub had a ring around it. I used the hotel make up wipes and my own make up wipes to clean it and sure enough...there was grime on the wipes. :S If hotel staff cannot clean the tub properly, then please offer to provide Clorox wipes for guests at check in to wipe their own tubs. Room had a strange smell - but was too tired to put this in to front desk. I had to use my spray to mask the smell. This said, otherwise rest of room was clean, sheets clean, bed comfy and towels clean.
Wayne (6/5): - They advertise free parking. But they have no parking. Parking is on the street. You pay the meter until 5:30, so you don’t get a ticket. For the amount they charge for the room, this is unacceptable.
Mary (6/5): - There is no early or any breakfast provided. The one we stayed in in Anchorage provided a nourishing breakfast on the house. Not impressed with Gold Rush Inn.

septaleon (6/5): Clean but lacking amenities - The hotel is lacking amenities. Almost all Best Western's give you some type of complimentary breakfast. This one doesn't even have coffee set up in the lobby. Everything is $. They only have one elevator for four floor so that slows things up. There parking lot is one block away facing a park. Not safe to park your car in there. Whitehorse downtown has a lot of car break-ins and property crime. Go to the visitors center and get a free three day parking permit allowing you to park at the meters out front, a little safer. The city has a drug & alcohol problem so break in's into a vehicle are common to support their addiction. Police presence is virtually non existent. As a Diamond select member she said she upgraded my room but it was only a basic two bedded queen so not sure where the upgrade was.

Laterisers (6/5): Expensive compared to other Best Westerns in Canada with no added value for the extra money. - I drove from Alaska to southern BC and stayed in 4 different Best Westerns along the way, this one was over $100 more than any other and was far less comfortable than two of the others. Desk Clerks were very polite and professional, the bed was comfortable and the gold town theme was interesting (such as the elevator door looking like a safe door) and that was pretty much the positives. Negatives: No parking, I was told some was being built, but you have to park on the street, and they stressed multiple times to make sure nothing in your vehicle was in view to prevent theft, there was a lot of road noise, and the floors made a lot of noise when you walked on them, this is a know issue as they do give you complementary foam ear plugs in the room. Biggest positive for this BW is it was clean. Overall, the higher cost, lack of parking, apparent vehicle break ins and noise, do not believe I will stay here in the future unless the other options are sold out.
haybri2016 (8/5): Clean / Comfortable / Great Service - Stayed at this property for 6 nights on our first trip to Whitehorse. We had a two double bed room on the top floor. The room was spotless, and the beds and linens very comfortable. The service at the hotel was exceptional from the front desk and room attendants. Parking is two blocks away from the hotel, but was convienent enough despite the short walk, plus it was free! The restaurant was average and the hotels location was very central. One minor criticism is that we found the property to be very warm, we had to sleep with the window wide open each night and the aircon was a little noisy. I would recommend this hotel to others and will likely stay here again when we return to Whitehorse!
Judi (6/5): It was a good value for our needs. - The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, the floors were thin so we could hear the person pacing back and forth above us. A complementary pair of ear plugs was provided.

Thomas (8/5): Good stay for the price. - Older hotel that could use some renovations however housekeeping and maintenance have done an amazing job keeping it very nice. In the middle Of downtown and parking is terrible. Comfortable bed, hot shower hotel is creaky and you can hear people walking in the halls. I just turned on the fan for white noise.
