Guest Reviews
- Andrew (6/5): - The place was advertised as a hotel, but was a motel. I was incredibly disappointed when we arrived. Every night guests smoked outside of our room, filling it with the smell of cigarette smoke. Electrical outlets were hard to find and sketchy. Water pressure in the shower was bad.
- Brian (8/5): - We had a good stay. The person serving us at breakfast was great. The over all breakfast itself was not good. The quality of the food was poor. The people who were supposed to keep the food items stocked for guests did not.
The hotel was fine. Everyone was friendly.
- Mary (10/5): - Nice
- Roseann (4/5): - I did not receive maid service for 4 days. Unbelievable!! I had to ask twice. Unacceptable!
- Sandra (6/5): - The hotel was quite nice. The only complaint I have is there was hair in the ice bucket as I went to put my ice inside of it. That was so disgusting Price was reasonable.
- Terry (10/5): - Breakfast was better than I expected, with table service a big plus. My only complaint is with the coffee, which was nearly as bad as the self-serve stuff in the room.
- Judy (8/5): - Nice breakfast included with the room. Laundry facilities on the property. I felt safe and room was very comfortable.
- Kathleen (10/5): - The room was clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly. There was lots of parking. Overall everything was great!
- michele (6/5): - Room stunk, think its the air conditioning
- Tonya (10/5): - Front desk very kind and helpful
- Linda (4/5): - I could hear everything from the room next door. They were fighting and loud every night. Walls are paper thin and I had to play music to drown them out.
- William (6/5): Not my favorite - The breakfast was not as good as I was hoping. I would not eve try the restaurant. Coffee was very weak. Apples were the only fruit other than juice. Hot food floor area was sticky and/or slippery due to syrup spills. The "gym" was extremely small with 5 cardio machines and no room to do anything else. The fitted bed sheet was coming loose and we had to tuck it in ourselves each night.
- Terik (10/5): - The hotel did not look good, and the back yard was in very poor shape. The staff was great. They were very helpful, pleasant, and professional. My main issue is with Expedia; they were not helpful at all. I mistakenly booked the wrong date, and they would not change the date or provide any assistance. They told me that they called the hotel, and it was the hotel that did not want to change the date, and I can only book again with the correct date. I called the hotel myself, and they had no problem with changing the date. It showed that the workers at Expedia were liars and were only interested in keeping my money and making me spend more. I will never book with Expedia again.
- ELIZABETH (8/5): - The room had few plug in spots for devices. Breakfast was very good
- Sheryl (8/5): Nice value - Great pillows, big bath towels. Very clean.
- Stewart (10/5): - Friendly front desk staff. Super understanding also. Great attitudes from all 3!
- Effie (6/5): - Not typical Wyndham property.
Was existing hotel rebranded as Wyndham, and not upgraded.
No USB ports at all in rooms, and no USB or outlets bedside. Very inconvenient.
Had to crawl under bed, disconnect lamp to plug in laptop and cell phone.
- Billy Jo I (10/5): - Everything was very clean and the area around the pool was beautiful. Our outdoor door had gaps in it and we had a few crickets in the room from the gaps but everything else was excellent!
- Ron (8/5): - Nice breakfast
- Tony (10/5): - I must admit, I was a little hesitant on making these reservations here. However, after our experience at a $250 night hotel the week prior, I figured it couldn't be ant worse.
This was the perfect stay. The outside was a bit dated, but up-kept and clean. The rooms themselves were updated and again, clear. The staff pleasant was more than accommodating. Peppers, the in house restaurant was great. A 10oz steak was a 10oz steak, unlike the national chains where an 8oz steak magically turns into a 6oz [or less] steak. Portions, options and pricing were good. Our waitress was very tentative.
- Enyi (2/5): - This place is truly disgusting , never will i ever stay here
- James (10/5): - The folks at the front desk were awesome. Really appreciate the kindness and conversation.
- Timothy (8/5): - It was nice to have a full breakfast
- Carole (10/5): - Always a great place to stay, friendly staff, convenient location.
- Sara (8/5): Price was good. Amazing breakfast. - The hotel was very conveniently located right off the highway. However, the room was not as clean as it could have been. They was sticky things on the wall next to the bed. The bedspread on the bed closest to the door had brown stains on the white spread. The outside of our room, which was around the back was dirty and not well maintained. The cost was good. The breakfast buffet was excellent and just about made up fir the uncleanliness of tge room.
- Marybeth (2/5): - This was so awful that we ended up asking for a refund at 11 pm and went to a different hotel. The beds had hair and dirt in them (?), there was hair on the bathroom floor, and the towels were stained. The property itself smelled like weed and the rooms smelled very musty. We also didn’t realize that the Baymont and Days Inn are in the same building, so they are pretty much one hotel. The website was very misleading in this way. The only good thing about this place was that the front desk was very accommodating when we asked for our refund. But overall, I would not recommend staying here.
- Holly (8/5): - The TV in my room did not work, and I had a very late check-in so I did not want to move rooms after I got everything to the second floor. Notified the front desk of the issue.
- Dan (8/5): - Breakfast buffet included was very nice!
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room was clean nowhere to plug in phone etc near bed to charge. Breakfast was awful. Food was cold and over cooked
- Justin (8/5): - Descent room. Our AC unit broke but was replaced inside an hour. Minor inconvenience. Property is very dated but looks like they're in the process of updating the rooms. I don't think I would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not happy at all. - Outside had ants everywhere on the walkway. You could smell marijuana being smoked even though it was a nonsmoking hotel! The toilet leaked bad! There was an electrical cord going from the wall to the TV exposed in front of the adjoining room creating a potential electric and tripping hazard!
- Elizabeth (8/5): - The hotel was fine for a one night stay before a race. Very helpful staff. Lobby didn’t have 24 hour coffee.
- Brandon (10/5): - Sweet server in the breakfast room. Very attentive
- alejandro (2/5): - We have a miserable time because it was a leak one night and the hotel staff it was not able to find a solution next morning I ask the person in the front desk to send someone to clean it and check out the problem and never didn’t also some of my personal items was damaged for the water leak and they said I will get it replaced and never happened
So we are not happy about it and never stay in the hotel…
- John (10/5): - great staff
- Lissette (8/5): - We enjoyed our stay
- Jonathan (2/5): - While I initially booked this stay with optimism based on positive reviews, our experience quickly revealed that the conditions at this property were far below reasonable expectations for a safe, clean, and comfortable stay.
We arrived around 6:00 p.m. on June 24 for what was supposed to be a four-night stay. Upon arrival, we were immediately concerned when we saw two individuals sitting on the curb outside the lobby who appeared to be intoxicated or under the influence of drugs. This set an unsettling tone before we even checked in.
As someone recovering from a herniated disc and currently suffering from sciatica, I asked the front desk about elevator access. I was told there was only one elevator located on the complete opposite side of the hotel from our room on the second floor—making it extremely difficult and painful for me to carry luggage and access our accommodations.
Upon walking to our room, we encountered overflowing trash cans and cigarette butts scattered around the premises. Inside the pool area, guests were openly consuming alcohol—both from cans and glass bottles (while swimming)—despite clear signage prohibiting glass in the pool area. This was not only a violation of hotel policy but also a serious safety hazard, especially for families with young children like ours.
The room itself was cramped, far smaller than any standard double-queen room I’ve stayed in before. The bathroom was so small that opening the door barely cleared the toilet. A coax cable f
- Steven (8/5): - We enjoyed being 5 minutes from olde town, very nice pool, and the fact that there was a restaurant built into the hotel. Peppers had great food at a great price. Very friendly staff throughout the building.
- Paula (2/5): Review - Unfortunately, we did not realize that hotel had an outside entrance before booking. There was only one elevator and it was at the rear of hotel. The AC did not work properly, kept going off during the night and was very noisy when it did work during the day. Check in staff was polite. Cleaning service did not come daily so had to ask for towels and TP. Would not stay there again.
- Anne (10/5): - My only real concern is that I can hear all conversations in the room next to mine. We are separated by a door.
- Marla (6/5): - It was ok for a quick stay. Had to walk to main office (was not a short walk) several times for simple items like towels and toilet paper.
Was there with kids and pool was closed entire stay. Weather was an issue but checking chlorine the first day shouldn't have taken all day.
- Gerard (10/5): - The girl went to front desk was unbelievable
- Veronica (8/5): - Everything was great. Not giving 5 because the bar closed at 10 PM on a Friday night.
- Flavio (10/5): - The property is a bit unusual as it has several public levels and it is dificult to find ones way at the arrival. Soon one gets used to it and the receptionist was very warming reacting to my questions and needs
- john (8/5): - Convenient
- Alina (6/5): - My husband allergies were worse inside of the hotel than outside.
The bathroom has a strong smell of mold.
- Cassandra (10/5): - I am going on the comments from my children who stayed at the hotel. They liked it very much. They said the beds were very comfortable. The room was nice and clean. They said they would definitely stay there again.
- Boyd (6/5): - Not quite what I was expecting from a Wyndham. The toilet was dirty upon arrival. The a/c fan was noisy and not very effective unless on 62.
Beds were comfortable, pillows very soft.
Place was being remodeled while we were staying there. That was not a problem. This unit appeared to be an old motel being refurbished.
- Eugene (10/5): Excellent for 1 night stay - Clean, comfortable bed, quiet. Good breakfast
- Jeremy (10/5): - Great
- Michael (10/5): Would go there again - Friendly, clean, comfortable and a full breakfast buffet!!!!
- Bruce (8/5): - location is very good
- Joanna (8/5): - This hotel is gradually being upgraded from a Days Inn. Our room was large and clean. The bathroom was tiny but clean. Hypoallergenic bedding was made available on request. Our room was facing the inner garden/pool area so quiet. Not sure what the outer rooms would be like. The breakfast buffet was good. The price was reasonable for this facility. Would stay here again.
- Erin (10/5): - The staff was so friendly, and when there was a problem with the room (my son's toilet was flooding!) maintenance arrived while I was still on the phone with front desk!! Excellent service!
- Phillip (8/5): - Nothing
- Craig (10/5): - Great experience - exceptional breakfast.
- Andrea (4/5): - My room wasn’t clean, even though we waited almost 2 hrs after check in for it to be ready. The updated rooms on the 2nd floor are a better option. The ones on the first floor are full of bugs. No bueno!
- Lisa (10/5): - The staff were friendly
Nice renovations since our last stay
- Taylor (6/5): - Check-in was at 3pm and we got there around 5:15pm and were told our room wasn’t ready. They said they would call when it was available. We didn’t receive a call for our room until 7pm. We have a two year old toddler who had just spent 5 hours in the car and goes to bed at 7:30pm so not having a room until 7pm wasn’t a good start. Then, we also paid extra for this hotel because it had a pool. Not realizing because it’s not advertised that it doesn’t even open until May 1. Finally, when we got to our room we couldn’t use the top blanket because it had hair and several stains on it, we had half a roll of toilet paper (for 3 nights) and had to request more, and there were several hairs sitting in the shower and on the toilet seat. Just started off disappointed.
- Lois (8/5): - Very loud at night keep s you up. It was just outside our door.people fighting and yelling
- Sam (6/5): - Limited parking. Couldn’t check in till 5pm. Did not adjust room rate for their tardiness
- Stacie (6/5): - Front desk staff were very helpful, however, it would have been nice to have better housekeeping.
- Wayne (10/5): - Great visit.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great visit.
- Delma (10/5): - Staff was great; beds were comfy.
- Catherine (6/5): - When we checked in our room smelled really bad. When we returned from our day out it was still really bas plus the toilet didn’t work. The front desk clerk was very gracious and gave us another room which was a big improvement. We had dinner at the restaurant next door that was connected to the hotel. The food wasn’t good and the service was also not great. We had the breakfast that was included the next morning and that was better, both the quality and the service. I didn’t realize when I booked it that it was a motel. If it had been less expensive I wouldn’t have minded but it was a lot for a pretty dingy motel. I would not return.
- Melanie (4/5): - Our fridge didn’t work so they bright another one and that didn’t work. They finally sent someone and found out it the outlet that was the issue. Also I was charged multiple “holds” on my bank account with no resolution and the holds were daily with different amounts that made no sense. No one including the manager could explain the reason it was happening and it caused me to have over $500 held from me my entire stay which left me short on funds for my trip
- Ellen (10/5): - Reasonably priced, always clean and comfortable!
- Rolando (6/5): - Great service.
- Lynda (8/5): - The only problem we had was the heating unit in this room made a grating sound when it turned on.
- Swindell (10/5): - My family has used this location many times over the last 25 years. It's consistently clean and the staff is always willing to go the extra mile to help you.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Baymont Culpeper - Everything was nice and rooms were clean and came with a good buffet breakfast.
- Wayne (10/5): - Great location with an excellent restaurant attached to the lobby.
- Malinda (10/5): - I was very surprised at the updated design. Everything we needed to be comfortable while away from home.
- Rebecca (8/5): - Small room too much furniture. Very clean. Nice firm bed and soft bedding. Small microwave. Mini fridge. Hard to find front desk, you have to go inside where the restaurant is to find front desk. Friendly staff. Free and lots of parking. It's two hotels in one with bar restaurant. Continental breakfast. Eggs, cereal, French toast, bacon/sausage, sausage gravy n biscuits, cottage cheese, yogurt, muffins. Breakfast until 10am.
- Ellen (10/5): - Everyone is always nice and helpful. Nice rooms
- Ellen (10/5): - Everyone was very nice. The room was nice and clean.
- Russell (10/5): Comfortable Stay - Came for a Parachute demonstration at Old House Winery. Easy access and distance to both the venue and downtown.
- James (8/5): - blankets could be more comfortable
- Isobel (10/5): - Clean, quiet and convenient
- William (8/5): - Great breakfast
- Clyde (6/5): - This is an old property with the feel of a 1950's motel. It was clean but dated. The attached restaurant was at best marginal with a loud bar. The breakfast was free and worth every penny of it.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Updates - Nice updates. But there was pubic hairs everywhere. Tub, sink, floor, blankets, etc.
- Michael (8/5): - The property is very convenient, easy to access and was located next to the event I was attending.
- BARBARA (6/5): - I got up during the night and discovered a cockroach scurrying across the floor. Fortunately my luggage was on a rack and zipped shut.
- Tracy (8/5): - The room was renovated and clean. The outside was a little "worn" looking but was fine. I don't like doors that open to the outside as much but I did feel safe the whole time. The breakfast was very nice with hot and cold options.
- jill (6/5): - I was disappointed by the accommodations. Won’t be staying there again.
- Deborah (8/5): - The property was close to a wedding venue.
- Kevin (8/5): - It served us well for our 1 night of travel.
- Celia (8/5): - This is an older hotel. Room was nice but minimal with older furniture. Had a fridge, microwave and coffee maker that was nice. Room and bathroom were clean. Beds were comfortable. Large fresh breakfast buffet included with room. Staff was friendly and professional.
- Shirlene (10/5): WOW,, excellent night - Check-in was quick, simple. Viewed the pool it was clean and large with lots of table & chairs with lounge chairs. Had carts to get everything to our room asked for 1st floor and by the time we got there it was ready for us. The room WoW new, everything was new,, the bed was comfortable, towels soft & also new, they gave me extras a the front desk. Water pressure was high, Breakfast bar hot food, from eggs, bacon, biscuits w/gravy, French toast,(homemade), to apples and pastries. Will stay again. Thank you Amanda (the lady at the desk)
- Randy (8/5): - Very clean nice people
- Angel Colon (10/5): - Todo muy bueno gracias
- Eileen (10/5): - Great staff ! Restaurant attached is quite good ….remodeled rooms are nice
- Brenda (6/5): - Room had an odor, big round spot missing from the carpet, sink and bath were slow to drain (literally standing in about 8 inches of water, wall paper peeling away from wall, entryway door did not close with a seal, I could see a line of light between the doorframe and the door.
Staff was friendly.
- Stephanie (4/5): - It was just all around sad. No cell service and poor tv viewing options. Wasn’t very friendly
- Eileen (10/5): - Great front desk staff and restaurant!
- Elisabeth (2/5): - They took my reservation for 4 days. At check in, they told me I could only stay one night. The remainder of the town was sold out completely. I was there for a horse show all week and had to stay 30 minutes away.
- Maud (10/5): - .
- Samuel (6/5): - Didn’t receive any fresh towels on our second day. They took our used towels, and Bath Mat, left our used washcloths but didn’t leave any new towels or bath mat.
