• Andrew (7/5): We will be back - It is close to my daughters house and very convenient When we arrived at 9:00 pm, all the exterior lights were off, unsure whether it was even open. I walked in, mentioned the lights and then they were turned on.
• Rachel (5/5): - We stayed at the Baymont in Huron for an extended period (over a month), and overall our experience was a mix of positives and some very disappointing interactions. On the positive side, David was consistently helpful, professional, and kind throughout our stay. He genuinely made the day-to-day experience better and was someone we felt we could rely on when we needed assistance. Unfortunately, our experience took a negative turn toward the end. When we asked for a little extra time to pay after already staying for over a month, the response from the owner was extremely unprofessional and hostile. Being told to leave in such a disrespectful manner after a long-term stay left a very bad impression and overshadowed the rest of our time there. In summary, while certain staff members like David provided excellent service, the overall management experience we encountered was disappointing and handled in a way that lacked basic professionalism and respect for long-term guests.
• chris (9/5): - Room was large and uncluttered. Staff was friendly. Every hallway had cameras installed. The breakfast was excellent... even with only 1 or 2 visitors remaining in the morning, old food was replaced with fresh. Location was across the street from a gas station, grocery store, 3 resteraunts and a Lewis Drug, When I checked in, the rooms hat a strawberry aroma. Hot Tub was out of service until further notice... a minor peeve, but something I was looking forward to when visiting.

While shaving, a nice sized spider dropped out of nowhere into the sink. An attention getter! The backdoor has a sign that says it is locked after 9 pm, nope! Never locked. I won't stay there on my next trip to Huron.

• C4012HAirmak (2/5): Won’t stay here again. - I would not stay again. Poor quality. Room was dirty. The floor was pretty dirty and the carpet was very old. The bathroom was pretty dirty. Bathtub/shower was stained and old/gross. Hotel would have to change management and modernize / renovate the hotel. It looks and feels like a hotel from the 70s or 80s currently. It’s not very attractive. The front desk is rarely ever staffed unless you pick up a phone and then someone will finally come out after a few minutes. I went downstairs and did not see anyone around. This hotel looked very empty, not vibrant at all, and somehow the front desk was not able to upgrade our room upon request. The breakfast was very meager and disappointing. The furnishings in the room and breakfast room were very old and antiquated/beat up. The hotel needs a serious renovation and upgrade to breathe new life into it.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Clean, just worn and in need of updates. - We have stayed here a few times for events at the State Fairgrounds. The rooms are clean but worn and they always seem to have a parking lot full of building materials that never quite make it into the hotel. The rooms are as clean as they can get them, it's just an older hotel. I DO like it when we get a room with an interior and exterior door.
• Michael (6/5): Best Western Huron SD - The room felt run-down and neglected. The lamp connected to the light switch at the door had no bulb, and the lamp on the nightstand had blue electrical tape around the base. The television, refrigerator and microwave all were plugged into a six-plug extension which was dangling in the air. We thought that might have overloaded the circuit, creating a fire hazard. There were insufficient electrical outlets in the room, including none at the work desk where guests could plug in computers and phones.

• Mike (8/5): Mediocre - Shower water supply line is loose in the wall, and so are the shower curtain rod ends. Pillows are nuts. They're too small. I call them marshmallow pillows. A king size bed with such small pillows is not a recipe for comfort. That constantly flashing light outside the window makes sleeping challenging.
• Koriana (8/5): Good location, would benefit from some adjustments - Convenient and acceptable breakfast The cleaning products used triggered an allergic reaction. It would also be nice if the breakfast area television was tuned to the Weather Channel instead of a news channel. It would be of more use to for traveling.

• DEBBIE (6/5): - I stay here occasionally. The slamming doors at the inside entries into the hallways slam. It is a rude awakening. These have been like this for several years. Time to repair them. The shower floor doesn't drain all the way. Other than that it is a nice facility.

The staff was friendly and accommodating, making check-in and check-out smooth. The location was perfect, with easy access to nearby amenities. I’d definitely stay here again!!

• Dennis (2/5): Very poor - I like the outside entrance to the room. We choose this motel because it shows it had a hot tub available. We traveled 8 hours and wanted that feature. This is why we chose this particular location. Very disappointed. I talked to the management and they said it was closed for remodeling or something like that. It looks like it has been shut down for some time. I got the feeling that it was oh well that it wasn't working. I did say this is why we chose them. Again Very disappointed.

• mikedG5483DN (2/5): Worst stay ever - I would never stay at this hotel again. All bad reviews online are correct. Staff is in tshirt, sweats and sandals and hardly ever at the desk. Food area was filthy and unattended. Jacuzzi is non existent. Room lighting is horrible. No elevator and no outside sitting area.

• Verified traveler (8/5): pretty good - Check in was ok, had one key that didn't work, another that did. Went back to the desk to try to reset the one. Both were attempted to be reset, still had one that worked and not as well, and the second still didn't. We were told at check in that breakfast would start at 6 am, which was great because we were leaving at 7. We found out in the morning that on Sat breakfast didn't start until 7, we were disappointed. Otherwise the room was good, clean, and comfy. One other point, the shower was hard to pull up the plug to start it, took two hands, room 202.
• James (6/5): - I had problems with 2 rooms. The first had a leaky sink, the pipe under the sink was not connected. (They were in the middle of a remodel). I told the staff and they quickly gave me another room. That one had a hole in the wall and smelled like smoke. The 3rd time I got a nice remodeled room and the stay was pleasant after that. They did take care of me quickly but it would have been nice not to lug around luggage going room to room 3 times, to find something acceptable.
• KEVIN (4/5): - Not sure how this hotel stays open. Pool and spa closed. Lobby was dark. Parking lot was full of construction materials but no sight of construction. Plaster missing in the bathroom. Dirt ring in tub was so bad I didn’t use the shower. No remote for tv. Candy bar wrapper in the floor right next to the bed. Huron needs a hotel that has some pride in their property. Will stay in Mitchell next time.

• Hannah (6/5): Clean, but Missing Perks - Our first room we were given had not been cleaned - beds unmade and towels on the floor. They quickly put us in a clean room which was much better. Breakfast was fine, better than expected, and juice and coffee were available 24/7. However, one of the reasons we had chosen the hotel was for the amenities, the pool, hot tub, and gym, all of which were behind a dysfunctional, nailed shut door.

• jrb3652024 (2/5): Check your bill - Tried charging us extra for staining sheets when we were in the room for maybe 8 hours since we were only staying one night. When i called to inquire i was told i would get a call back- the manager was a coward and never called back- let his front desk staff handle my complaint and wouldnt pick up when they said he was going to be there. As a manager in customer service this is disgraceful and cowardly. The front desk employees deserve a better manager for sure.

• William (4/5): - We rented months in advance and a week prior received a call saying the reserved room was overbooked and we had to take a different room. The day we were coming we received another call saying the room we chose was available. We checked in and noticed the bottom of the dresser was extremely dusty. Then my bedside lamp wouldn't work. I figured out that it was unplugged. Plugged lamp back in. I took a shower in the morning and there was no water pressure and the water was cold. Staff couldn't be found half of the time. I will NOT stay in this hotel again.

• Sandra (7/5): Good - The welcome from the front of house staff was excellent. Husband and wife team, couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast needs to be updated. Fruit needs to be fresh. The cereals and yogurts are fine, pastries not so much!
• kappruss4 (8/5): Nice stay - When I come to Huron I'm looking for a nice, affordable, clean, quiet place to stay with ideally a breakfast option. I've always had a good experience at this hotel. It's close to food places and near the side of town where i have to work. It's due for a remodel but based on the stack of pallets near the building that may be in the works soon. Better pillows would be nice as well.
