• Patience (4/5): Decent and affordable - The pool area was great.. the pool hours were very accommodating. The staff was extremely nice and very helpful with solving all the issues. The hotel is recently under new management so they are trying really hard to make improvements. Breakfast was cleaned up before 9am, so we didn't experience breakfast. The hotel room was extremely dirty. The bathtub wasn't cleaned! We had to ask for toilet paper, towels and clean sheets. The walls were dirty, stained and had hair stuck on them. We didn't have a remote to the TV. The air/fan never shut off. The in room microwave didn't work. We had to plug in the refrigerator.

• Shawna (5/5): Not a place I will stay again. - Breakfast was powdered eggs and occasionally pancakes and juice. The facility itself is an older building and has potential to be an exquisite place if some care and attention is given to it. The entry way is beautiful with a winding staircase leading to the second level. The facility is in need of renovations, the toilet wouldn't stop running unless you jiggled the handle just right. They charges a $40 pet fee per night and had a weight limit of 40lbs. I don't think you should advertise as being a pet friendly hotel if you put a 40lb weight limit on allowed pets. The staff wasn't very friendly.

• James (7/5): The hotel had been thru a recent storm that damaged the building.but I feel like the GM is working his ass off to get th - The location was perfect. Just 5 minutes from our destination Keys would randomly not work, bathrooms need a great professional cleaning, cracked sink, dirty floor boards, cracked toilet seat, fresh linens would be a plus.
• dennisngailh (2/5): Happy once, not this time. - It was a bad trip. We had stayed at this beautiful hotel several years ago. It was magnificent. We had booked a 2 night stay Jan 2&3rd. We left at 7 am after the first nearly sleepless night. When we woke up and went out in the hall for breakfast there was a space heater in the hallway. No juice, no milk, limited cereal and the rest was horrible. We won't go back until a complete rehab is done. Choice did give us a refund. That is why we are Choice privilege members.
• Lorraine (5/5): Terrible stay - Location The room floor was sticky, the ice machine on the 3rd floor was broken. Had to go to the 1st or 4th floor to get ice. The water faucet in the bathtub was extremely loose. The breakfast was not good at all. Sausages were dry, pancake maker and a coffee machine were broken.

• TimWyg (6/5): Hotel is tired and in much need of a freshening up - We've been staying at this specific hotel on trips for more than 10 years now. On this trip, we stayed twice - going north then returning south. Unfortunately, it's apparent from the moment you drive up that time has caught up with it, and that general maintenance and freshening are long overdue. There's visible roof damage on the street side of the hotel that's covered with a tarp. While the staff is always pleasant here, it seems they're understaffed for the workload. The rooms are very tired and outdated. On our second stay during this trip, the room A/C unit did not work to warm the room. We actually turned it off because besides the typical noise of a hotel system, it was cooling the room, though it was set to heat. The hallway and room carpets are stained, as well as the bathroom tile. While the rooms are clean, it doesn't necessarily feel that way. Wall paint is obviously touched up and not even. Towels and linens seem to be nearly "used up". This is a great location, and we've been loyal to the hotel. I hope the owners and Quality Inn take action to catch up on repairs and appearances. This is definitely not the jewel it once was, and we will be watching future reviews to determine if we're going to stay here ever again.

• Natalie (1/5): - I heard you booked a hotel for the weekend and I had booked it weeks ago. Well, it came down to that weekend. I had called that day to see if it was still reserved my room and the girl at the front desk said that I didn’t do anything that wasn’t no room reserved for me or anything like that. I had gave her my name and multiple times. She couldn’t find immune system nothing And she told me that she didn’t know what was going on that she had to let her boss now and then her boss would call me back. I waited and waited waited nothing so I canceled it on booking which I had told my confirmation number also and she still said that was in a room reserved for me After I canceled it and everything and went to a different hotel while Sunday they tried to take out my bank three times, so obviously I was booked, but they couldn’t find me and they were no help at all. They act like they didn’t care. And they are still yet try and take money out of my bank. I had it blocked though.
• Mark (2/5): - Noticed there were several charges to my credit card ,tried resolving this issue during my stay but staff said the Manager would have to look into it. They took my information and i was told manager would contact me but this never happened. I was charged twice for my stay and hsd to gile a Dispute with credit card provider to try and get refund. Still unsure why there were 6 different transactions on my card from the motel.
• 304davd (10/5): Quiet and comfy - This place is really looking good. The new management has done a fantastic job turning this place around. They are starting a massive remodel. Hotel is quite & parking lot is well lit up. I like that they have security at night made us feel safe. Pool was great. Breakfast was good. The rooms are a pretty good size & the bed was comfortable. For all the amenities and the signs of the rooms the price is great.

The new owners are really nice and helpful, but having some problems with the computer system. Did upgrade are room at the same cost. The place is a little older looking but clean. The sofa in the room needed some help. The breakfast was ok, but nothing to write home about. Until the remodeling is done I would look at a different place to stay.

Upon arrival I was told they were “overbooked” and had no room for me. Was told by the location they couldn’t process a refund until the manager was available. Front desk was unsympathetic, rude and threatening when I asked how the large group of student athletes arriving as I was leaving were afforded accommodations.
• gmail-dum (2/5): Confirmed reservation was canceled due to their overbooking - Traveled four hours with confirmed reservation and told on arrival by the tattooed front desk clerk that they had overbooked and our reservations for three days were canceled. When we protested she said we needed to leave or she’d call security, on 70+ year olds. She didn’t even offer to help us find other lodging, which could’ve been with Choice hotels also. We’ll never use Quality Inns or Choice Hotels again.

Mattresses pulled out of rooms and leaned in the hallway, doors to rooms left wide open. Carpet appeared not have been vacuumed in….I don’t know….maybe forever. Breakfast inedible. No way safe temperatures were maintained. Dead flowers on the tables. Disgusting. DO NOT STAY HERE.

• 975debrah (2/5): Not.a "quality inn" by any stretch of the imagination... - It took three different key cards in very outdated locks for us to access our room; on the third try the door opened and clearly the room was already occupied! Upon entering a different room, we noticed some dirty edges...oh well. We left for dinner and returned. No hot water...took a very fast shower and warmed up w the hair dryer. My hubby had called down to report a missing remote; he told the man at the desk about the shower and was advised to "let it run a few minutes". The new remote didnt work, and obviously neither did the advice on the water. After cold showers and no TV, we went to sleep fearing bedbugs...considering the state of the place. There was accumulated dirt on the corner of the bathroom counter behind the tray. The mirror was coming apart. The bottom of the shower curtain was stained. The windows curtain, carpeting, and bed coverings were stained. There was some kind of dried-up lotion(?) on the bathroom floor. Ugh. We intended to travel early, and went up for breakfast at 7 (the sign said 6-9 for breakfast service). No breakfast...just a few dried up bagels in a case (obviously not fresh), and few dessicated apples and oranges in a basket, mostly-empty dry cereal bins, a dirty waffle maker, and worst of all...a dirty serving system w old, dried up eggs...obviously from a previous day. Gross. Two older men were sitting there..someone must have had coffee, and they said 'the girl is going down to make the eggs'. They were also grousing about the state of the hotel, and said at one point it had been a premiere ▪︎Precious* hotel (apparently the Precious Moments factory is nearby). No way we were going to stick around for breakfast. After packing out, I went to find the clerk to get a receipt. I went back up to the breakfast area, only to note that SOMEONE HAD DUMPED NEW EGGS INTO THE DIRTY OLD EGG TRAY. Major violation of wvery health code. I found the clerk, shared our experience, and asked for a refund. He said he was not allowed to do that. I asked for a manager email and was given one. We left. Oh..did I mention the dead plants inside and outside the lobby? Emailed. No response. Called Choice. Was.given a different email. No response. Called Choice again. Was given another email and told someone should contact me in 24 hours. Nothing.
• Neil (4/5): - This hotel didn't measure up to other Comfort Inns we have stayed.Neither key opened door. Manager came and had trouble also. We got inside eager to relax after a long day of travel only to descover the toilet was left with tissue inside. Toilet did not flush. Moved us across the hall. Inside we found no hand soap,coffee cups and parcel candy in made up bed. Towel with a huge hole. Breakfast was subpar. Cereal but no milk,no juice or fruit.Bagels and muffins were stale To say eggs and sausage were not t to eat is an understatement. Housekeeping is very lacking. FRONT DESK workers nice. Disappointed!!

Room had 1 small trash can. Room was stocked with towels for 1 person. Door leasing outside at back of hotel was not lock or latched. No forks for breat…. Eating waffles with a spoon was fun!
• Rhoda (2/5): Would not go here again. - Did not get the room I reserved- Got confirmation on king with walk in shower and got a room with 2 queen and bathtub with handicap shower. There were no towels or bathroom amenities. Had a coffee pot but no coffee or tea. Around 10:00 pm someone knocks on our door and says we aren’t registered He was the same gentleman who was standing in the back of the desk when we were being checked in. and In the morning, full breakfast was a bowel of cereal and warm coffee. In fact there was a sign saying cereal only.

• Evan (2/5): - I booked my hotel 2 days in advance when i arrived t they gave me the key and there was already someone staying in my room. So we waited woop min to get another and they had to clean it. But all that meant was change bedding and spray tons of frebreeze. The was other pps hair in the bathroom and carpets were gross thought they would clean it the next day but they didn't. Every night the manager would sot in lobby and drink alcohol and there was always a mess left in lobby. Finally the last day there we complained again they cleaned room told me they would return some of my money but when i went to chasm it the hotels manager or owners wife was working and she was very unprofessional and rude. Referenced me at " that women" took down my complaint and said they her husband knew more. I doubt we will see a return if any kind. I wanted to like hotel and i was not rude or complained to much was very patient and yet she treated me like i was a horrible guest. I do hope they can do better i truly liked the manager but

• prabhveersinghs (10/5): I love to stay at precious hotel in carthage. - Beautiful hotel, big lobby, big chandelier, had a great hospitality by Mr. Singh and staff. Very big pool in left. Super clean and had all the supplies. Beautiful big room, comfortable bed, nice furniture and precious moments pictures in room and lobby. Helpful front desk and housekeeper. Small but good gym with shower. Welcoming amenities. Big parking lot, easy excess to car according to room allotment. We had my son's birthday party there. We recommend stay in precious hotel. Our family will keep coming again and again.
• T3498IYlynnr (2/5): HORRIBLE!!!!! DISHONEST!!! BOGUS!!!! - This is absolutely one of the worst hotels I have stayed at. It is advertised on the sign as being a Quality Inn and it isn't - I called Choice Hotels Corporate Office and they do not have a contract with this motel. There was a crawling bug in one of the beds and a still bug in the other bed. When I went to the office to ask to speak to the manager, the tattooed man and the young lady were somewhat making out. She was zipping her pants up when I walked to the counter. Totally unacceptable. Without a doubt we did not stray to have breakfast!!! I talked to the manager by phone and they were not able to reimburse the cost of the room BUT offered to let me stay another night for FREE.....really.....I would never stay in that BOGUS Quality Inn & Suites hotel again - ever!! CAUTION folks: Make sure your motels are actually represented by Choice Privilege as this hotel is trying to pull off!!!!!
• Bobby (2/5): - Don’t stay here!!! I booked a king room and they didn’t have any clean when we arrived at 8:00pm and said that if they could get someone to come clean the rooms, that they would move me. The floor was sticky and dirty, both carpet and tile. The walls were gross. It was supposed to be $191 total and they have charged my credit card for $520, so far. They claimed that the charges are made by hotels.com and that I would not understand. They said we can only get one key because they didn’t have very many. There are several people who appear to be living there with cats and a very large dog was aggressive and barked at us when we walked out the front door because he was “startled”. They would not give a receipt as they claim that they are paperless. Our room was at the end of a long hall with a door at the end that would not open. The middle of the hallway also had a door that was broken and taped (not working) which should be a safety issue! They told hotels.com that we had to pay for 2 nights whether we stay or not and we definitely checked out after the first night. Over half of the charges to our card were added after we checked out. I cannot believe hotels.com represents such a disgusting place.

• Richard (4/5): Quality Inn and Suites in Carthage MO is a No Stay - A/c in the room worked well, but the lobby and halls did not and were hot. Fridge needed defrosting, toilet was child height and difficult for seniors to use. Tissue dispenser was empty, breakfast area was non functional, smoking area was right next to entrance so you have to endure the stink when unloading. Large SUV was parked in front of entrance during the three days we were there probably because it was the only shaded area. Door card had to be reprogrammed the last day. People at the desk were nice and pleasant. Beds slept well but were quite high and a little hard to get into. TV worked well but chair was worn and uncomfortable. Overall for the price paid we were disappointed and will not be staying there again.

• Debby (2/5): - I have never experienced anything like my stay in Carthage, MO. For some reason Expedia had my reservation for the week before, my paperwork showed the 24th check-in. Not one guest that I talked to had anything good to say about their stay. Breakfast was the worst I have ever had. Staff didn't show up till 6:00 and breakfast was suppose to be ready at 6:00. I will never go through Expedia again for any of my bookings.

• Shannon (1/5): Disgusting and ghetto - The worst place I have ever seen. Never even got my refund. As soon as you walk in roaches everywhere, no a.c.. rat in the cloudy pool . Receptionist had no bra on with slippers.
• Pina (2/5): - This was by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The only nice thing about it was the super sweet night clerk. The pool was closed, there was no hot water, they were so short on key cards that they could only issue 1 per room and in our case, we got 1 key for the first room and our second room had to be opened with the master key, though they later found one and brought it to us, the bedding on one of the queens was dirty, breakfast for the entire hotel consisted of 4 bagels, 3 slices of bread, cereal with no milk, and coffee that left half an inch of grounds in our cups, our keys quit working each time we left our rooms, the carpets were strained and worn through in many places. The guy who claimed to be the manager at one point blamed us and said it's an old hotel with old keys, claiming we were demagnetizing them by putting the cards near our phones. After that, we kept our phones and cards separate, but the keys continued to fail. We were blamed for the lack of hot water, supposed management said we didn't allow the water to run long enough. We tried running the water longer, but it still didn't work. Staff said I had been informed at check-in that there was no breakfast, but I don't remember that. The guy claiming to be manager tried bargaining with us to give him a good review (at least 4 or 5 stars) and he would give us a 50% discount on additional nights during this stay. I couldn't do that. There is more to say, but I'm out of characters.

• Todd (4/5): - No hot water, no toilet paper, very dirty, the employees park right outside the main doors so you can’t pull up to unload your stuff.
• scop2021 (2/5): Avoid like the plague…or mold, like in the room - Room was dirty, guy at the counter offered to allow me to pay more than advertised. Almost got into argument proving that literally anywhere online was a lower price than he was trying to charge me. Ice box was full of mold, carpet was uneven. Hallway smelled like cigarettes. Lobby had no Ac and sweated to death as we haggled over price for a terrible room. Can’t see out of the windows, non of the furniture matched, blankets were dirty. Go anywhere else but here. Spending a night under a bridge would possibly be a better alternative.
• Darren (4/5): - It needed some updates. If a person needed a place to crash for a night it would be fine . Our showers were lukewarm at best. We didn’t use the pool . We didn’t eat breakfast.

• FlyingLowOK (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE! - Terrible! Had a reservation, drove in super late to find out the hotel had no hot water and no WIFI. It was after 11 PM and the lobby doors were propped open with rocks (maybe no AC?), weeds growing everywhere, and we waited over 15 minutes for a front desk attendant to show up. It felt unsafe. We left and drove around trying to find another hotel (look in Webb City). This is completely run down, poorly managed. Don’t stay here!

• Pamela (2/5): - It was the worst stay i ever had no hot water which would of been fine only staying one night but was put into a dirty room then moved to another room in the 2nd room toilet was clogged couldn't get anyone to help had to unclog it myself with my hands
• Curtiss (2/5): - DEPLORABLE. DO NOT STAY!!! - OVER GROWN WEEDS AND TRASH AT ENTRYWAY- NO HOT WATER - COUCH TORN
• Sara (2/5): - Hot water tank broke so there was no hot water, filthy, bugs, I was given a roll of toilet paper upon check in and had to take it to my own room, unkept sheets with stains on a pillow and on a bed comforter, dust and cobweb dirt behind tv stand, picture do NOT represent the pictures on advertisement, Sheetrock was all over the floor in entrance and hallways, the door outside was unlocked so anyone could open it without carrying keycard. The isrealian that was working the desk was nice and answered questions and offered me a cancellation but I had booked through 3rd party that didn’t allow refunds so I was charged regardless. Stay clear and keep driving!
• Homer (2/5): Horrible - Hair dryer didn’t work , no napkins , tool 45 minutes to check in , no drinks or snacks as advertised, very poor hotel you should take it off your website
• Dunkel (2/5): No stay, gave away rooms that we had reserved ahead - I and 2 others had reservations and were greeted with a No Vacancy sign on the door. With reservation information in hand we went in and were told they were full, no rooms available to give us. They had taken people on a first come first served basis regardless of whether or not they held rooms for reservations! Of course, we were flabbergasted. We had never heard of such a thing. There was no further explanation other than "first come, first served" and we were, eventually, asked to leave the property. We have been using that hotel regularly for 30 some years and probably will not be back and it is breaking our hearts, but we have hung in there through thick and thin but cannot abide what happened. If there had been a reasonable explanation we might feel better about it, but none was offered, just obstinance. One of our party is in a motorized wheelchair so needs a handicapped room. Where would we find a place that would accommodate? (we did)

• yvonne (8/5): - Was disappointed that the pool wasn't open the whole weekend. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. The front desk lady was helpful in making suggestions on things to do.
• Brenda (2/5): - We had to reactivate our key cards every day. We had to re-register twice. The pool was awful. No TP in any bathroom. Had to ask twice. No TP in our room. Had to ask. Drinking fountain was out of order. The faucet in the women's bathroom was completely loose. (I.E. you could turn it all the way around on the sink. Hall carpeting was loose and wrinkled. Trip hazard for sure. We will not be staying at any Quality Inn and Suites in the future.
• Samantha (1/5): You get what you pay for. - The staff Everything but the staff! No toilet paper in room, tv didn’t work, the bed mattress delapidated and needs to be replaced. The breakfast was no good. The furniture in lobby all ripped up. Lobby needs vacuuming.
• Josh (4/5): - This property is outdated and over priced. Pool was absolutely disgusting and it appeared most of the people staying were full time residents along with the staff. Will never stay here again or recommend this hotel.
• Sharon (2/5): You Don’t Want This - Bad beds with old inner spring mattresses and sheets with blood stains on them. Really dirty areas of the property, ragged, dirty and torn carpets. Breakfast was supposed to be from 6-9. I walked in the food area at 7:30 and most of the food was gone. I asked if they would put more out and was told by the attendant to make toast or a waffle because that was all that was left and no more was being served. The coffee was like weak tea. All together a horrible experience. Don’t stay here.

Breakfast was pathetic with only fake eggs and waffles. No meat! Room smelled like smoke and ever time i walked in the bathroomI smelled fresh cigarette smoke! Probably wouldn’t stay here again.

• Don (1/5): Bad - Nothing five years ago it was a great place not now. Everything, the snow wasn't plowed in the parking lot. If we didn't have a reservation we would have kept going. The faucet in the restroom in the room was about to fall off the sink, had to move bed to plug in a lamp, coffee maker and clock radio weren't plugged in, chair in room was so dirty it stunk, buttons on front door for handicapped access didn't work, orange juice in Bearcats room was rancid looked as if it had been sitting out for days as it had foam on top of it, had a very poor choice of breakfast items ( and very poor is not what I wanted to say but I was trying to be nice). It was a great place but now is a dump ( and dump is trying to be nice). It was a big waste of my money to stay there never again will that happen. Lots of places that needed cleaned. I used to be a school custodian so I see dirt without looking for it. And the ridiculous need for a credit card for incidentals. When we are now in a high-end motel and they didn't ask for that. Wish I could get my money back for staying there because it was not worth the money and there better not be any other charges on my credit card.

When I called the front desk to get towels, they said your phone isn’t working come to the front desk to tell us what you want. Never apologized for the phone not working or the room not being cleaned. We checked out a day early because it wasn’t a great experience.

We got a room, our key cards wouldn't let us in, and then when the guy working came to help us, a guy answered the door because the room wasn't vacant so then we had to go back to the lobby and wait for a new room. The room was cold and the water in the shower was barely warm.

Then ten minutes after checking in staff walked in are room without knocking still don’t know why. Breakfast was ok. Hoping this is not a normal thing for this place.

• Ganson (3/5): Poor - Didn't go to the breakfast The room we were assigned to had leftover food and drink containers still in the refrigerator. Which meant what else would we find if we stayed in the room. We were given another room and there were shampoo and conditioner containers still in the shower stall. Made us wonder if the sheets had been changed or the just the beds remade.
• David (8/5): Probably last time in Carthage - I have stayed multiple times at this property. The first time I enjoyed it, the last time it was a bit more trying. Possibly because I was a very late arrival. But three things concerned me; they have almost doubled the pet fee - on their form it said $25, they charged $40, The room carpet was in terrible condition and one thing about “fees?!”

• April (2/5): My worst hotel experience ever - Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at in 45 years! I reserved a room with 2 queen beds and when I arrived was told there were none available, my mom would be spending 1 night with us so we needed the extra bed. They rushed to “clean” a room for us at 11pm. I’ve attached a picture of the mirror in our room that was disgusting. We had no blankets on our beds, when we asked for them we were told there was a shortage of blankets and we had to go to our car and get our own blankets that we use for traveling. Our room smelled like cigarettes the entire 5 days. The room next to us # 251 was adjoined to ours, those people fought and cussed every night. I also suspect that’s where the cigarette smoke came from. When I complained twice, the only resolution offered was for us to switch rooms. On our second morning we tried to take advantage of the complimentary breakfast but there was none “due to a medical emergency” the next morning the biscuits and sausage were burnt almost black. The entire place smelled like chlorine from the pool and the glass door at the entrance was shattered. The employees all look very trashy and unprofessional and they do not care and act like the guests are a bother. We asked multiple times for tp and clean towels and didn’t get them until I finally had to go and stand at the desk until somebody literally handed them to me. Very poor service and dirty hotel, the owners should be ashamed.

• 709ChrisC (2/5): Horrible experience - Do NOT stay here! 1. I made this reservation a few weeks ago online. No problem, the rate was great and the information on the web looked good. So, we arrive, wednesday nite. 2. The room we were given was occupied by someone. We went back to the front desk, they gave us another room. The second room was occupied as well. Again, we went back to the front desk. The third room would not open. Finally maintenance showed up. Opened the door, someone's luggage was already in there. We left. Let me also say, this hotel is undergoing renovations. I believe there are lots of "homeless" folks living there. While we were waiting on maintenance to unlock the door on the last room, some fellow rode up on a bicycle and came in carrying a cast iron Dutch oven that had been used recently, it appeared. In my opinion, the desk clerk may be letting his homeless friends live there. Do NOT stay here.

• Verified traveler (2/5): Horrible Stay - We were staying for a friends wedding for the weekend to say this hotel was awful is an understatement the smells of weed in the hall when this hotel is supposed to be non smoking, black mold on the air vent which triggered both myself and my wife's allergies. The phone was not connected to the wall so you cannot contact front desk if you needed something and when I went up to the front desk it felt like as a guest i was being a bother to them over simple requests i even got an eyeroll from the employee because i disrupted there dinner. If your looking for somewhere to stay, stay somewhere else.
