Guest Reviews
- Sharonda (8/5): - Nice people
- Brandy (10/5): - Hotel is very clean on the outside as well as the inside! The manger and his wife are very nice and helpful.. My room is very spacious and clean! Everything looks very updated and the beds are comfortable! Highly recommend if you need a nice quite comfortable place to stay and if I ever come back this way I will stay again!
- Brandy (10/5): - Clean property. Excellent staff. Room is comfortable and tidy. Will stay again!
- Britany (8/5): - Clean but dinghy, no breakfast, quiet, easy, safe area. Front desk man was nice but not quick. Great for the price.
- Evelin (10/5): - Cuatomer service was excellent!
- Heather (10/5): - Priced right (less than $80 after tax). Beds very comfortable. Property shows wear. Housekeeping forgot to empty trash can in bathroom from previous guest. Bedding and towels clean.
- Stephanie (10/5): - The service was great! A nice size room and the beds were comfortable. Interior hallways made it really quiet and we were near an entryway. Right next to Flying J who has a Denny's and conventional truck stop fare.
- Stephen (4/5): - Manager at front desk was rude when I asked for extra time at check out( 20 minutes). My fiancé was getting ready and needed more time to get dress. He had a mean attitude with me and gave me 10 minutes instead. The worst.
- cliff (8/5): - Chinese restaurant on location was excellent
- Dawn (10/5): Excellent stay! - Excellent check in. Room was spacious and very comfortable. It had a very comfortable couch with 2 ottomans. Bed was one of the most comfortable beds we ever slept in.
- Carl (10/5): High value for the price - I was really quite impressed at the stay given the price. The room was clean and in good condition. The family running the place were nice and helpful. It was certainly no frills, but of all of the hotels in this price range this is easily the best experience I’ve had. I would match the condition to hotels priced 50% more. The area was safe, though a bit noisy. I would trust bringing my kids, though I was solo this trip. I definitely recommend it.
- Amber (10/5): - Convenient , check in was about 5 minutes. The room was clean and the whole building smelt clean. Only issue was the lobby was closed when I went to check out, but I was also checking out at 530am so it wasn’t an issue.
- Rachelle (8/5): - This was an easy place to stay close to Downtown Memphis. Nothing special, but GREAT for the price. Clean, comfortable bed, a little.bit of freeway noise, but not anything that kept me awake.
- michaela (6/5): - nothing unique about it. we were looking for a cheaper, clean place to crash after a ball game since we live out of state. we got what we paid for, a standard clean room.
- Taurus (6/5): - Badly
- Devonna (2/5): Last option! - The bathroom had mice droppings behind it too nasty to take a picture and it smells in the hallway. They knocked on the door starting at ten o’clock and check out is 11am. They aren’t friendly with the customers. The first and last time!
- Carol (10/5): Nice, comfortable stop in our journey - We're still here but the room has been very nice. The only issue is that the fridge didn't work but that wasn't a big deal to us. Friendly gentleman at check-in, the room is everything we needed for just crashing for a few hours before continuing our travels.
- Derrick (10/5): - Great Place! Friendly Staff! Highly Recommend!
- Elizabeth (8/5): - Check in was in the vestibule because the lobby was locked, but it took a little while and was pretty chilly.
- FRANK (6/5): - The cleaning staff knocked on our door at 9am telling us it was time to check out, check out was 11...
- Charles (10/5): - We were staying to go to the Bass Pro Shop, it was only a 10 minute drive. Very convenient and not an expensive hotel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - My only problem was my room wasn’t ready. Other than that it was perfect. I would definitely book again.
- Carmen (4/5): - No breakfast or coffee. No staff and doors locked.
- Alonso (8/5): - The hotel is good, clean and not too far from down town Memphis. The only thing I did not like is that your window is right on the hwy so no stoping semis traffic all night long. I would recommend the hotel if that is ok with you
- Frederick (6/5): Manager couldn’t have been more helpful! - Hank the manager was so very accommodating! We got there sooner than expected and he was able to give us early check in. Also I didn’t realize the place didn’t have an elevator and since we are both handicapped and unable to climb stairs he was able to give us a first floor room. It’s an older motel type property and could use some updating, but our room was clean the bed was comfortable enough and that’s really all we needed. Thanks again to Hank for being so accommodating!!
- Omar (4/5): - Dry slow service. No seats to wait for the long processing if checking in even though we have had the reservation
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Hotel was good! The only problem I had was the noises from the 18 wheelers. It's right by a truck stop or two
- Glenn (6/5): - N/A
- Melissa (10/5): A pretty good stay - Right off the interstate, clean and with a friendly staff. Mattress could of been better but that could just be me.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Loved this stay very clean and neat!! Go e it 5 stars!!
- Pasterant (8/5): - Nothing everything was good.
- jerry (10/5): - stayed one night, good stay would stay there again. friendly staff.
- John (8/5): - Overall I enjoyed my stay
- Marjorie (10/5): - Easy off and on the expressway. Many food options.
- Ashok (10/5): Very Comfortable Stay - Very nice clean room. Staff was Great! Had a very comfortable night stay.
- Timothy (4/5): - Bare bones... This is a fine place if all you need is a bed for a few hours.
- Margaret (8/5): Great hosts - The couple running this hotel are really nice and very welcoming. The hotel is clean and the bed was really comfortable. Driving distance from downtown Memphis is good. The down side is the pool was closed and looked like it had been for a while and it was quite noisy with road traffic but overall we had no major complaints.
- Debra (6/5): - Room was ok, but no Kleenex provided in room and not enough towels first night. No one available to get more. Office locked up at 9pm and no access to lobby. There was a fight down the hall and nothing was done for awhile. Wouldn't stay there again.
- Delisha (10/5): - It was ok. Tv could have been larger.
- vuanita (6/5): - Easy access to the highway
- Veronica R. (6/5): Good but bad at the same time. - I am not sure why but there was Poo on the floor in my mother's bathroom. The air conditioner had this loud rattle every time it came on. After a while it became very irritating, so we just turned it off for a while.
- Chris (6/5): - It served its purpose but had a dank smell and stadium lights on all night for the front rooms
- Dennis (10/5): Hidden Gem - Great Value .room service every day. Great location
- Sue (4/5): Not a great motel - it was not great. The bed was lumpy. When I moved I could feel the springs pop, plus the was a low place in the right side. I haven't know of a bed in 20 years that you could feel the springs. I asked for a box of tissue. He looked at me like I was crazy, and said we don't have those. I know the room was cheaper than some, but not even an offer of a roll for breakfast. It was not what I would ever stay in again. He was a foreigner, and hard to understand, nor could he understand me well.
- Brittni (10/5): - We were just passing through so we only stayed one night. The room was clean, everything worked and the staff was friendly.
- Prabakaran (8/5): Value for money - Value for money. Hotel renovated superbly
- Trisha (10/5): A+ - We just needed a place to lay our heads and rest. It provided a safe and clean place to do that
- Lois (8/5): - Clean and comfortable
- Brandi (8/5): - The rooms was clean and nice
- Ieke (8/5): - Very friendly owners, room was king size, the noise of the nearby truck rest area was a bit anoying.
- James (8/5): - Well maintained, staff was friendly and helpful, décor is about 30 years out of date
- Georgiann (8/5): - The staff was polite and patient. Very clea. Had trouble finding the property. Overall, a positive stay.
- John (10/5): - The Front Desk service was better than most of the other motels we have ever stayed at... A real pleasure to spend 3 nights there.
- Alicia (10/5): - Good stay
- Shekima (6/5): - The owner was rude.
- Latosha (6/5): - The water stayed warm and didnt get hot. The beds was rock hard and so uncomfortable.
- Billy (8/5): - It was a good stay, however the room will need a new mattress soon.
- Anna (10/5): - Very clean and quiet rooms
- Theresa (10/5): Nice place and we got it for a good price. - The room had obviously been updated and was clean and comfortable with very nice decor. Hotel was a bit tricky to find when using Google maps- turn before the Luv's gas station and loop around.
- Marie (6/5): - Too much noise and no access to luggage rack.
- leathia (8/5): - The stay was good
- Angela (8/5): - The place was clean and there were no areas in disrepair. The room was nice and clean but the hairdryer was not working and the bathtub did not have a plug. Overall it was a decent stay for just a nice place to sleep after a concert in Memphis.
- Dennis (10/5): - Room Cleaned every day. Shower was great. Quiet Hotel
- Patti (6/5): - In the area there was very poor street lighting and had pot holes over the roads . It was difficult to see them at night . I would not recommend staying there if someone was planning to go to the casino there. It was hard to figure out how to cross over to the other side of the interstate. Beds were clean but bathroom had hair in the tub and hotel had a bad oder .
- Cindy (8/5): - Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and spacious. Beds were ok for a nights sleep. Area was a little noisy due to being right off interstate but as tired as I was it didnt really bother a whole lot.
- Cara (8/5): No breakfast but clean space and friendly staff - I will start by saying that they DO NOT have breakfast . So i dont why its advertised that they do . BUT everything was clean and the staff was nice .
- Edward D (10/5): Clean, Comfortable, but a little highway noise. - My stay was amazing. The hotel was clean and comfortable. However, little highway noise, but I manage to sleep through it.
- Raymond (4/5): - Property dated. Bathroom door was creaky. Wifi was very slow and cuts off all the time and you have to enter password constantly. Behind the building was were all the semis park so very noisy at all times. Owner called my room to basically kick me out when check out was 11am and it wasn't even 10:30 yet. Very annoying.
- Cleshay (10/5): For 100 bucks for one night well worth it - It was a last minute check in. I was only here for one night ..The host was great. The room came with a microwave and fridge which i didnt know that was a plus. The hotel is surrounded by resturants another plus ..beds was confortable and room was clean. Staff was very friendly
- Shunda (8/5): - cleanest
- Tommy (6/5): - Got their late, the attendant took forever to attend because the night bell was out of his hearing range.
- Daniella (8/5): Good stay - Was good for the price. Near a truck stop off the interstate. Seemed safe and clean enough. Would stay again if on a budget
- Rick (6/5): - It's a fine place if you are looking for somewhere to lay a weary head while traveling. I didn't feel particularly safe having the outer door fully accessible to the outside. You didn't even need a key to enter the property!
- Mary (8/5): - Location was easy access to highway. Building is old but staff was nice and rooms were clean.
- Benjamin (10/5): - Room was clean. Good value. Easy of and on interstate
- Ken (8/5): - Overall, it was a good value for the money. It was close to the highway when you need to stop for the night on a road trip. The hotel itself is clean and the staff is kind, it’s just on an exit with several truckstops, so it’s not particularly scenic. Great place to get a clean safe night stay.
- April (6/5): - Property manager was great but the property was a little sketchy. Truck stops surroud it so its a little noisy. Dont know about the safety of the area?
- Romil (8/5): - Safe
Quiet
Shopping
Dining options
Transportation
Walkable
Convenient
Easy Parking
- ASHA (2/5): - I do not recommend this hotel. Sheets were dirty, the entire place smelled of smoke, the appliances were dirty, refrigerator didn’t work and there is only 1 channel
- Adam (6/5): - Fine as a layover but nothing more
- Lucy (4/5): Not very HAPPY with overall stay - Beds were very uncomfortable & sides must be made of steel as extremely stiff so feels like your on a roll to the center of the bed. Couple issues with the room, my husband notified front desk so we weren't be blamed for destruction if property. Such as scrapped-up wall, arm of chair cover ripped off & toilet all wobbly like it was going to fall over. Stated free breakfast, no breakfast provided, office locked up tight at 7am, no employees. Had to leave door key in the room. Pictures of pool in the line-up for photos of the hotel, but not listed in the amenities. I called the hotel & spoke to receptionist who said it's not open that's why it's not listed in the amenities. However, we looked at the pool. It's disgusting, not in use for quite sometime now. Probably never will be again under this management grouo. Should have tge pool pictures on the website removed, very misleading. Overall, dissatisfied and wouldn't stay at this hotel again.
- John (10/5): - A good place
- Stephanie (2/5): - The area
- Gina (10/5): - Property matches description given. Economical, very clean, convenient to interstate, friendly staff. Perfect for a nights rest on a long road trip. Plenty of security measures.
- Jason (8/5): - Never even get to step foot in the lobby. You end up talking through a window in the area between the double doors. Do they get robbed a lot? Room was spacious and clean. Good for a night of rest.
- James (8/5): Good value - The bathroom was a little worn, dated, and dirty, but overall a good room.
- jorge (8/5): - My husband accidentally left his Apple Watch when we left. We called the hotel and Nick said that he found the watch on the floor of our room. Because we were already 4 hours away we asked Nick if he would send it to us if we sent a prepaid postage box. He was so honest and helpful and we were so happy to get the watch back. Thanks Nick. American Inn is lucky to have such great personnel.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - My stay was nice thanks.
- CLARICE (6/5): 1 night only. - Hotel need amenities or an update. There is no elevator, the vent in bathroom was extremely loud and you dont have the option to turn it off. No breakfast offered and the side door is broke anyone can gain access with or without keycard. Ck out is 11am we got a call at 930 asking if we were checking or staying another night. We only booked 1 night because thats all we needed.
- Martin (10/5): - big room and clean
- Phillip Knox (10/5): - Extremely complicated getting in and out. No real restaurants, only fast food. Good value though. Very clean.
- Ian (6/5): - The property is ok for a single night on a long journey but be aware that there are NO dining options in the area except the truck stop down the road.
The rooms are very noisy as it is located very close to the Interstate.
- Santiadra (10/5): - Excellent!!
- Denna (10/5): great hotel - Great staff quick checkin. Need another towel. Got it right away
- Karen (6/5): - It was alright for a quick overnight stay. Close to food and gas. The staff was nice. We felt safe.
- Lori (4/5): - The room smelled, the coffee maker overall was dirty, the fridge was outdated, barely worked, the beds were terrible, as were the pillows! There was no comforter, just thin sheets of material on the bed and it wasnt washed, the light switch was dirty, rusted lamp, stained carpet, noise from others through thin walls.
- Nadiyah (8/5): - It was quite clean for a low budget hotel. The staff was friendly but had to pay a extra $5 fee for each room that was not expected. Overall a pleasant experience.
- Jeffrey (6/5): - Bathroom not fully clean or stocked when we arrived. Tiny bath towels. Location is a bit noisy. Otherwise ok.
- Heidi (10/5): Clean and comfortable - I was impressed immediately by the cleanliness and the attention to detail of the upkeep of this hotel. I felt the loving care put into those details, and it greatly enhanced my overnight experience. Thank you for providing such a clean and comfortable place to stay for weary travelers :)
- Judy (4/5): - Girl started cleaning my room before check out time which is 11. The air conditioner stopped working after she came in the room so it must be on a timer so I had to sweat while showering … no toilet paper and had bug bites when I woke up.. wouldn’t recommend..
