Everything was clean and staff was helpful with questions I had about a second booking for family. Bathroom is outdated but everything was clean and worked fine.

The toilet should be a large and tall toilet so pulling yourself up is easier. hand bars help there too. I chose BW because they do have a larger toilet seat than most. The seat was b it too low and there was nothing to pull on except the doorknob and that is not good.

• Linda (8/5): Hotel in Oxford - Oxford is a small town so it is nice to have a Best Western hotel there. It appears there was water damage to the hotel that was still being dried out. There were loud fans and cords in the hall. There was wall insulation on the carpet. The staff were friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Should be a nice place to stay when the damage is repaired!

We will be telling our out of town family about this location!

Staff was super helpful in giving us places to visit and eat! We were going to be tight on check out because of the time football camp ended, but they worked with us so my son could shower before our 3 hour drive home! We will for sure stay here again!

• eliziav2023 (10/5): A warm welcome to Oxford Ohio, a great place to stay. - If the first person in America you met was Curtis (who was on the night desk when I arrived), you'd want to move here. The best thing about the hotel is the service, Curtis and Rachel could not have been more accomadating, especially for me as I have coeliac disease so I need a gluten free diet. They went out of their way to make sure I was well catered for. Better than some of the fancier hotels I've stayed at. I felt safe, welcomed and appreciated as a guest, given that I stayed for a week to work at the university was important. The hotel is a good quality mid-range hotel for business or occasional travellers, the room, everything was of a good standard and quality, the beds were very comfortable, the room was clean and warm, well sound proofed. The pool was good if a little chilly but that's supposed to be good for us. The breakfast buffet offered a good range of options, a lot of it was a bit too on the processed side for me, but the fruit and yoghurts were good as was the bacon. I tell you being able to start the day with a gluten bacon sandwich made me happy and I have to say as a Brit, the tea bags they supplied were very good and I have to say the cosmetic products supplied are excellent, a Canadian brand called La Coupe, which I liked so much I searched for it on Amazon, and if you're staying for a week and you're busy with no time to go shopping this makes a big difference to your stay. All in all a great place. I note someone else's whinge about the pillows, mine were fine, OK not quite duck down but the mattress was comfortable, I slept incredibly well so all in all I was very happy. It's not the Ritz, but in comparison to other Best Westerns or hotels of this category I highly recommend the Sycamore Inn Best Western.

• tcooper0612 (6/5): Overpriced, outdated, falling apart - We were in town for Make it Miami so just needed somewhere to stay for the night. I picked this one based on it's price and the fact that it had relatively good reviews. I just want to start by saying that this hotel is NOT worth the price and does not deserve good reviews. The only positive of our stay was the location in proximity to Miami University. And I guess you could say the front desk attendant was okay. First of all, the entire hotel is super outdated and in serious need of an upgrade. Everything looks drab and not very welcoming. The room didn't look too bad but we opened the curtains and the window sill was just covered in a layer of dust, which obviously had not been cleaned recently. The bathroom is tiny with just a toilet and bathtub. When we turned on the shower head it shook so badly it looked like it was close to falling out of the wall. The toilet paper looked similar, like it was barely hanging on. Behind the bathroom door, the wall had pinkish red spots that resembled blood spots. Not sure what it actually was because I was not going to investigate. If it was blood, eww. The bathroom was nicely stocked with towels and typical hotel-style shampoo, conditioner, body wash. So that is one positive. The sink and countertop are just outside the bathroom door, which I hadn't seen a lot in hotels. It was stocked with make-up cleaning cloths and similar body products. No issues here. The room itself did not look terrible and I felt comfortable enough staying there. My hotel-stocked blanket did have a stain. Again, kind of gross. This room severely lacked outlets for charging electronics. There were two outlets at the bed, which was not nearly enough for two of us. I, alone, I had a phone, watch, and fan. My daughter was also in need of an outlet. We experienced quite a bit of hallway noise even into the later hours, but it wasn't a huge deal because we were also up quite late. The pool area was nothing special. Nicely stocked with towels and a good amount of seating. Unfortunately the pool was too cold. I stuck one toe in and knew there was no way I would be getting in. A hot tub would have been a great amenity. And, finally, breakfast. It was included with our stay but was tiny compared to most hotels. Only a few small tables. We were rushed for time because we had to be at the college early, so we grabbed a few items to go. I got a few pieces of bacon and I'm not even sure how to describe what they were like. They were so thin and crispy and lacked all of the qualities of real bacon. It was almost like it was imitation bacon. Needless to say, I didn't even end up eating one full piece. My daughter had what I think was an omelet? A folded egg thing with cheese and stuff inside. Again, she took one bite and did not want any more. I believe she described it as disgusting. Ordinarily I would not mind paying what we did for one night in a hotel ($141) but this hotel is not worth this amount. At all. I would say this hotel should be less an $100 per night, so don't be fooled. I randomly decided to check the price for a night at this hotel for Friday (the night of Make it Miami) and it was $356! I really hope nobody paid that rate for this hotel. I'm not a hotel snob by any means, but I'm going to be honest about the positives and negatives to let future guests know what they are getting in to. Please research other hotels in the area and be willing to pay extra for a hotel that is actually nice. I wish I had taken pictures as a warning to other guests.

We enjoyed the breakfast as well. The hotel is a bit dated and would benefit from better ventilation in the stairwells and pool area. It was very expensive to stay here because of the events happening at the university, but the location made it easy to get to campus.

I called multiple times to switch rooms because the air compressor turned on for 20 minutes every twenty minutes. It literally shook the wall as my room was right next to the furnace room. The front desk attendant who was working the next day apologized but at that point the damage was done. I slept a total of an hour that night. Very disappointing.

• Samuel (8/5): - Easy walk to Miami campus and sporting events.
• Jamie (10/5): - Nice pool
• Carol (8/5): Clean and Thight - The room was nice and clean. Not a fan of the sink outside of the shower area. The actual shower/ tub area is extremely small. Had to stand between tub and toilet to open door. Iy was nice and clean though. The staff was very nice.
• Erica (4/5): - Front desk staff were unpleasant, could not find them half the time. Pricing is ridiculous and obviously marked up bc of MOH events, however, do better. The bathroom was not even clean which is telling of the rest of the facility.
