• HARUN (8/5): Very good place to stay if you are in Port Alberni! - Staff is very friendly and nice. Washrooms can use some upgrading. I was able to smell smoke in my room. I guess someone was either smoking outside or inside but I shouldn’t be smelling it in either case.

We didnt get our king suite we originally booked, but they gave us a nice double queen room and a free breakfast for the inconvenience, management treated us very good.

• EdisonW1979 (9/5): Will be staying again if I return to Port Alberni - One of the cleanest hotels, and rooms, I've stayed at in years, was definitely taken a back in a positive way how absolutely spotless everything was! Worst part about the room would have to be the noisy mini fridge directly in front of the bed, each time the compressor turned on it would wake me up, which was frankly the only let down.

• Rosemary (7/5): Good location for staying in town. - It had a good fitness centre. Clean. Comfortable. No breakfast included in price. It seemed high priced for what you got.

• David (10/5): - Staff are very friendly and helpful. Restaurant has very good and reasonably priced food for both dinner and breakfast.
• PAUL (9/5): VERY COMFORTABLE PLACE TO STAY EN ROUTE TO TOFINO (ETC.) - We didn't have meals at the hotel. In fact, we were a little surprised that there would be a charge for breakfast - this had not been our general experience with the hotels where we have stayed; however, this gave us the opportunity to find another excellent place for breakfast (Boomerang restaurant). The staff, however, were very helpful, and the room and beds very comfortable. We would have no hesitation staying there again. Minor disappointment: we went to the bar at about 9:45, just to have a nightcap, and learned that they were closing up for the night - not a big issue, just a little surprising.
• Steven (7/5): Convenient and comfortable stay - Easy walking distance to river, local park and a few restaurants including 2 excellent brew pubs. Parking is easy — very large parking lot. Staff were very friendly and helpful. This is really an industrial area and our otherwise excellent room had a view of the hotel roof heating equipment and a concrete batch plant.

The gym could be nicer with more up to date equipment and open for longer hours (5:00-11:00 perhaps). This hotel is not walkable to the shopping area Quay. It would be nice if there was an option to include breakfast in the cost of the room. I recommend this hotel if you are ever in Port Alberni. Or driving to Tofino and want to stop in for a break to a city that is a bit more cost effective.
• Tina (4/5): - This hotel was overpriced for just run of the mill hotel. I paid $414.00 for 2 queens, not even a complimentary bottle of water for that price. The pool was outdoors, advertised as heated and it was cold water. No breakfast included but got a 20% off coupon on over priced breakfast. Upon check in wasn't directed to the hot tub or gym or the pool or what floors ice etc were on. The pillows were lumpy. All in all the stay would have been satisfactory but when yiu pay over $400 for a hotel a person does expect more. Port Alberni is a small community with not much going on. Price goughing at it's best. I was told that the prices were so high because it was high vacation season and Tofino is close to Port Alberni, not for the quality of the hotel, service or amenities, just close to Tofino.

Hervorzuheben ist auch das großartige Me - Ein Best Western Standard-Hotel, aber mit außergewöhnlichem Service und einem sehr guten angeschlossenen Restaurant. Schon bei Ankunft hat uns der Empfang wertvolle Hinweise für Ausflüge und Sehenswürdigkeiten gegeben das war großartig. Ehrlich wenig, außer dass die Bar vielleicht etwas früh zugemacht hat.

Es gab nur normalen Kaffee, keine fancy Cappuccini oder Lattes (O-Ton von der Servicekraft). - Der Pool war eine tolle Abkühlung nach einem langen, heißen und verstaubten Hike. Parkplätze gab es in Hülle und Fülle. - Jeden Tag Service im Zimmer. War nicht der Standard in den anderen Hotels auf unserer Rundreise. - Frühstück - die Lage vom Hotel ist nicht wirklich zentral. Zum Essen gehen oder downtown nimmt man doch besser das Auto
