Guest Reviews
- Hazel (10/5): Perfect in every way - Stayed here a few times now. It’s amazing! Comfortable beds, very clean & the best food
- Steffen (10/5): -
- Ceit (8/5): A lovely, comfortable stay at the Boot in Repton, with tasty food & fab staff! Thank you! - Room & ensuite shower were excellent, clean & comfortable. Staff were lovely & food was very tasty. Accessing the room was a little tricky from the small car park at the back of the property & the room was quite small.
- Siobhan (8/5): -
- Paul (5/5): -
- Jonathan (9/5): - Friendly welcome. Excellent food and beer
- Sandra (9/5): Great food and atmosphere and a lovely cosy room - The room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable. No problems with the bathroom at all. There were tea and coffee making facilities including very decent size mugs. There's nothing worse than having tiny cups to make yourself a cup of tea with a tea bag that almost matches the cup size. There were lovely biscuits too. Breakfast was delicious. I had eggs royale and usually elsewhere, the smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce portion is tiny but The Boot serve a really generous portion. We also had lunch in the beer garden which was equally delicious. The only thing I can criticise is that in the bedroom the window looked out onto the street and was directly opposite another building with windows. There were no blinds or nets up at the window so once the curtains were open anybody could see in and it was quite a big window. Plus the bed was right beside the window so if you wanted to sit in bed it felt like anyone could see you there.
- Corinna (9/5): -
- Heather (10/5): High quality with friendly staff - Lovely room and excellent food, all round high quality Minor point a larger sink in the bathroom would be good if in the future you refurbish
- Lino (9/5): -
- Colin (8/5): - Staff very friendly and helpful. We arrived prior to check in time and staff really went the extra mile to ensure we were able to access our room. Room itself was excellent. Breakfast was very good, loads of choice and high quality ingredients Quite noisy early in the morning. Beer delivery + loud music from kitchen woke us earlier than we'd have liked
- Geoff (9/5): Good break - Staff were very friendly. Food was excellent. Limited parking
- John (9/5): just what we hoped for - All staff very friendly, efficient and good humoured. Food excellent and a good choice of beers
- James (8/5): -
- NIGEL (10/5): Great room , top breakfast and very attentive staff - Very smart, excellent room. Breakfast was very good.Their own beer is marvellous and the ambience of the hotel & bar is really nice. Nothing
- Suzanne (9/5): Very nice , felt like a real treat . - Fabulous room, spacious, clean and felt very luxurious. A member of staff used a pass key and came into our room early evening and we were in bed !
- Kelly (10/5): Thoroughly recommend this charming hotel - The staff were welcoming and the rooms really well appointed and comfortable Liked everything!
- DAisy911 (7/5): Decent pub with rooms and good Sunday dinner - The Sunday dinner was exceptional for gluten free options - I felt very safe and very well catered for, with gluten free cauliflower cheese and gluten free Yorkshires - almost unheard of! Dinner staff were great.
Our room was nice and spacious with plenty of room to move about, plus a dressing table and very nice hospitality tray with decent biscuits. Plenty of plug sockets and good WiFi. Good sized towels in the bathroom, and a very cute wardrobe. Gluten-free options at breakfast were rubbish in comparison to dinner! Almost like eating in a different restaurant. Service was slow, the menu wasn't marked up, and the single staff member gave me a separate menu where they'd crossed things out that weren't gluten free; they had gluten free bread, but no gluten free sausages so choice felt a bit limited. People staying over had a different breakfast menu to people coming in for breakfast.
Our room was above the bar so was a bit noisy until time was called. The mattress on our bed wasn't the best, we both had sore backs in the morning. The bathroom sink was hilariously small which made washing your face quite challenging.

- Natalie (9/5): Lovely pub with friendly staff, good food and comfortable room. - Lovely pub with friendly staff, good food and comfortable room. Bar area full of locals and dogs making for a friendly and warm welcome. Nothing
- Pauline (8/5): - Lovely place im a lovely little village/ town Room was far too hot. Restaurant was busy for a Tuesday which in fairness probably shows how good it is.

- Maureen (10/5): Amazing place to stay and eat, with super friendly staff! - Amazing food - had two delicious breakfasts and evening meals and one lunch; loved them all.
All the staff I encountered were really friendly and welcoming, and the bedroom, bar and restaurant were beautifully decorated.
All in all a really enjoyable stay..looking forward to returning in October. I can't thing of anything at all that I didn't like!
- Zakiewicz (8/5): Fantastic location for a night away. Don’t miss the restaurant, it’s amazing! - Great food, location and staff My room was a little noisy
- Neil (10/5): - Lovely room. We really enjoyed our stay albeit rather brief. Would definitely return to this very clean and comfortable hotel and would not hesitate to recommend. Staff were friendly and professional. Nice location. Food is really nice, good choices of beers wines and spirits. Can't fault it really. Parking is tight but plenty of street parking nearby.
- Rebecca (10/5): -

- Julie (6/5): SHOULD HAVE BROUGHT HEADPHONES AND A BIKINI - THE ROOM WAS VERY NOISY FROM THE BAR UNDERNEATH AND THE ROAD WAS HEAVY WITH TRAFFIC AND THE CURTAINS DIDNT BLOCK OUT THE LIGHT FROM THE STREET LIGHT OUTSIDE. THERE WAS NO TEMERATURE CONTROL AND THE ROOM WAS STIFLING HOT ALTHOUGH THE RADIATOR WAS OFF SO WE HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO OPEN THE WINDOW WHICH THEN MADE IT NOISY... A POORLY THOUGHT OUT ROOM MADE IT LIGHT, HOT AND NOISY..... BETTER CURTAINS, LESS NOISE AND BETTER TEMPERATURE WOULD HAVE MADE IT A PERFECT STAY ON A PLUS SIDE THE FOOD AND SERVICE WAS GREAT AS ABOVE. LIGHT, NOISE AND HEAT
- Samantha (3/5): Great service, but let down by misleading parking, poor room comfort, and lack of follow-up. - The service was excellent throughout our stay. Staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful, which made a positive difference to the overall experience. The parking situation was misleading, as it’s advertised as available but not actually allocated for overnight guests. We had to move our car after the pub closed, which meant staying up past 11pm. The bed was too soft with poor-quality mattresses, making it uncomfortable to sleep. On the second morning, the shower was completely cold. The toilet uses a macerator system, which is very noisy and disruptive during the night. Finally, although I was told a manager would follow up regarding these issues, no one has contacted me.

- Jannine (9/5): Outstanding Service - Boot is a great place to stay. The room was beautiful, food was good, but the real stand out were the team - the service both on check in, during dinner and breakfast was exceptional Parking always tricky and please get mugs that can fit under the coffee machine !
- Jason (8/5): -
- paula (10/5): Beautiful place and great value for money - Lovely room and area
- Tracy (8/5): Comfortable stay - It was very convenient to where I needed to be. The beds were very comfortable. The sink in room 1 is way too small and this needs to be bigger. Given the price of this location I wouldn’t expect to see Nescafé as coffee all the tea is Taylor’s so why is this not mirrored with the coffee?? Also at breakfast I would have preferred a grilled Tomato and not a small portion of tinned chopped tomatoes this would have been more in keeping with the venue.
- kim (9/5): Lovely pub stay. Very friendly staff and excellent breakfast. -
- A (10/5): A fab stay in a beautiful hotel in a lovely village. - Beautiful decor, rooms immaculate. Ate breakfast, lunch and dinner whilst here and loved every meal!
- Jane (8/5): I’d definitely stay there again but I’d have to be convinced to have another meal there. - The position is great for where I wanted to be, and the room was fabulous. The restaurant was poor compared to the last time I stayed. The food at dinner and lunch was overcooked, even though I asked the waitress the following day when my guests joined me for lunch to ensure that my guests chicken schnitzel wasn’t overcooked….it was deep friend, dark brown, overly crispy and dry inside. The fish fingers were fried in more batter than fish…sorry, but it has to be said.
- Helen (9/5): Very pleasant overnight stay with work amazing food and staff clean comfy bed easy safe parking quiet location will be o - Easy parking lovely food lovely staff comfy bed quiet room Bathroom and shower was tiny my husband looked like he was in a phone box when in the shower and the sink was like the sink you rinse in at the dentist room 7
- lee (8/5): Nice place and quiet - Breakfast was very good, room nice and quiet room shower was a bit pathetic
- Ben (10/5): Comfortable, and serves fantastic food. - The food is truly excellent! And the staff were attentive and friendly. The sink in the bathroom of bedroom 1 is too small and difficult to use. It's a missed opportunity because a larger sink could easily be accommodated in the space. If it were my place I would fix this problem quickly.
- Paul (8/5): - The location was handy to visit friends and the room was beautiful, a good size and very comfortable. There was a lot of noise from people in the early morning.

- Gui Leng (1/5): Disappointed - I am afraid I am a very disappointed customer of this hotel last night as I was standing on the road waiting for someone to check in but no joy Booked months ago and confirmed with payment a week ago that I would definitely check in. Left a message to inform I will arrive late due to work commitments but when I arrived there was no staff or openings to check in, I had my colleagues worried and phone around to find me a last minute
rescue hotel to spend the night on 29 Jan.
I called up the next day at 8am to enquire & resolve this issue, NO ONE picked up the phone at all.
- Richard (9/5): Amazing place to stay - Stayed here many times in the past. Comfy bed and good sized rooms. Food is fantastic to.
Great place to stay Bathrooms are a little small in the rooms upstairs. Sink and shower coudl be a tad bigger

- Anthony (10/5): We stayed in my wife’s home village, back for a funeral. The Boot Inn has had a makeover and is in fine form and doing a - Clean, smart and well maintained with a good ambience Nothing
- Martin (9/5): - Staff were excellent.
- Nigel (9/5): -
- Gillian (9/5): -
- Gary (10/5): Great - Beautiful rooms N/A
- Lesley (10/5): Fabulous New Year treat - Everything! Fabulous room, lovely, helpful staff, great breakfast. Situated in a very quaint village. Perfect! I am being very honest, but we were initially in room 3. The bar area was directly beneath, and it was a bit noisy. In fairness, it was the day before New Years Eve, so it was busy.
- Janice (9/5): We really enjoyed our stay and will certainly stay here next time we are visiting Burton.here - I llove the position of the Boot in historical Repton. I love the outside garden to sit and have a drink or meal. The outside rooms are very stylish and comfortable and the super king bed was an added delight. The meals are superb and the staff very friendly and helpful. A popular pub with lots of character. After giving the Boot a glowing report I feel bad to say I was disappointed with the shower which had poor water pressure. I managed ok and maybe it was the time of day or a one off.
- Gill (9/5): Lovely place to stay but not the best location for gundog people due to limited parking spaces - Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Nice atmosphere. Food was good
Lovely room It’s not really a negative as it is what it is but Car parking was limited. We travel with our dogs and they sleep in our truck so we had to juggle a few spaces around to get a safe place in the car park. Dogs are welcome at a fee but we prefer to sleep without them as we have multiple dogs.
- Mark (7/5): -
- Howard (8/5): - Been several times it suits our needs
- Lynne (10/5): - We had a lovely room in a separate outbuilding in the car park which was beautifully appointed with a very comfy bed and a lovely bathroom.
We had dinner in the restaurant which was absolutely excellent- fabulous food beautifully prepared and cooked. If youre staying here you'd be crazy not to eat here!
- Robert (8/5): Good Village Pub - We’ve stayed here a few times and like it. Rooms are nicely decorated and quiet at night.
There are two pubs in the village and the food is much better at this one. Easy parking. Pleasant staff. Good breakfast. Rather strange breakfast pricing whereby for example, if you order extra bacon there is a charge, but if you delete items (I dislike baked beans and hash browns) there is no credit. I think some substitution should be allowed.
- Kathryn (9/5): -
- Debs (10/5): Perfect - Fantstic room - so cosy and well supplied and fitted out. Very tasteful. Delightful staff - they really could not be more helpful. To top it all an amazing supper at The Dragon and very very good breakfast. My compliments to the chef and thanks to all.
- Juliet (9/5): Brilliant - I would definitely stay here again - Staff were super friendly and the food was delicious I wanted to watch more TV channels that appeared to be available on the TV but couldn’t get online to access them - to be fair, I could have asked staff for help but didn’t
- Alex (9/5): -
- Karen (10/5): Would highly recommend a stay at The Boot. - Location was perfect for what we were after. Pub itself is lovely, tastefully decorated and makes an impact as you walk in. Staff were helpful and attentive.
Our room overlooked the back of the hotel, with no external noise. The room was tastefully decorated, warm and the bed very comfortable. We had everything we needed and a voucher for a complimentary drink left in the room which was a lovely touch. Fresh milk was available on request. The room was clean although there were areas in the bathroom which could do with a little attention/deep clean but nothing to take away from a great stay.
Food in the pub was exceptional on the Sunday evening and it had been prearranged for us to have the included breakfast in their sister pub 5 minutes away as the pub was closed on the Monday morning following our stay. Nothing we didn’t like.

- madeline (9/5): Wonderful Stay - The room, the setting, the welcome from staff, the Sunday food. Would deffo be back. The service from staff was definitely exceptional. Especially on the Sunday dinner and check in. The breakfast was disappointing, Hash browns and hard poached eggs .
- Clare (10/5): Superb place to stay - A really great place to stay, the rooms were very nicely decorated and a huge bed !Tea and coffee are in the room along with water. Nice toiletries in the bathroom. Great location. we are in the restaurant. really great food, although it was busy the food arrived quickly and hot, very tasty. I can say the same for the breakfast. The staff were super friendly and delightful Nothing

Food was amazing
- Marc (9/5): Great Gastro Pub with Rooms - Lovely boutique style pub in the middle of Repton. We often struggle to find good accommodation in the Burton area and were pleased to find the Boot Inn. This is a lovely gastro pub with a good number of rooms for overnight accommodation. We were able to park at the rear of the pub which was very convenient. The team at the pub gave us a good welcome and were very helpful.
Our room was on the top floor and was clean and quiet. There was a large comfortable double bed. The bathroom was small but fine for an overnight stay. The WiFi worked really well.
We had dinner and breakfast int he pub which was a great experience with excellent service and food. The team accommodated a late checkout so that I could have a quiet spot for a work related Zoom call in the morning. We will definitely stay again when we are next in the area to visit our daughter. Everything was good, my only small comment is that the shower could do with a little modernisation to give a better experience.
