Guest Reviews
- VERONICA (10/5): - Lovely little pub, We stayed 2 nights. Barry the Barman and the owners etc were all so lovely and accommodating. Our room (twin) was very spacious, the beds very comfortable. Toiletries and towels provided. The breakfast was fantastic. Lovely pub and lovely little town to visit.
- Mike (6/5): - Overall I enjoyed the stay but shower gel pump not working was a let down
- Les (10/5): - I found it easy to relax in this hotel and the fact there was a bar with a good range of beers helped. I would go back if I was back in the area.
- ANGELA (10/5): Historic stay - Amazing building dating from 1400's. On opening my room door, WOW ! Super large room, light and bright with church view opposite, lovely clock chimes which were only just audible and didn't disturb sleep. Lovely modern large bathroom. Beams everywhere and slopey floors.
Individually cooked breakfast excellent.
The only thing to spoil things could be the early morning traffic, though it never awoke me.
A REALLY LOVELY STAY.
- Joseph (10/5): - Clean spacious room in a friendly old pub, in the centre of the town. Staff are warm and accommodating. The shower in our room was clean with plenty of hot water. Large comfortable bed gave us a sound night’s sleep. A great stay at the price we paid and a lovely breakfast. 😊
- Leon (10/5): - Working away and met my needs of comfy beds, powerful shower with plenty of hot water and clean. No noise insulation from pub below but pub shuts at 9 during the week, later at weekends. Breakfast is free but cooked option starts at, other options is cereal and a pastry. Be warned one room has a skylight with no shades. Overall great value for money.
- Alan (10/5): Midweek fishing break - Stayed for three nights. Breakfast excellent. Room no. 4 overlooked hillside very comfortable. Hosts very friendly. Will be back next year
- Stephen (8/5): - Staff were helpful and welcoming . Very peaceful in the evening. Room clean and plenty of space in it.
- PAUL (10/5): Pleasant stay - Good all round no problems friendly staff everything you want
- Nicholas (10/5): Great place to stay - Very friendly staff. Great breakfast and morning coffee. Room was nice and big for a twin.
- David (10/5): - Great service and room. Beer spot on too
- Alison (10/5): - Great pub in a lovely village. Room was fine, nice and big, bed very comfy. Above the bar so could hear a little noise but didn't affect us sleeping. Breakfast was lovely. Would definitely visit again
- Jon (6/5): - Didn’t do breakfast until 9am I found strange but supplied me with a continental as I needed to depart earlier
- Harry (10/5): - Old buildings have caricature!
Welcoming staff!
Some of the woodwork in the toilet needs replacing, looks like rot.
Shower was good, bed comfortable
- Paul (8/5): Great value overnight stay in Cleobury Mortimer. - A lovely overnight stay in Cleobury Mortimer. This old 15th century inn oozes character, charm, crookedness and creaks.
Comfortable, clean with lovely food and drink, having stayed for breakfast and dined there in the evening.
Small issue with the room was soon rectified.
Lovely landlady.
Great value. I would stay again.
- Ciaran (10/5): 5 Star - Had a great stay here. Would highly recommend to anyone. Staff were polite and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were spot on and a Good selection of local ales.
Wendy is a great host. Will definitely be back.
- Keith (10/5): - Great staff, beer and food
- Malcolm (10/5): Welcoming - The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean and comfortable. I will definitely stay again if I'm in the area.
- Clive (8/5): - Very nice.
- A (8/5): 1 night stay - Nothing to much trouble. Nice breakfast
- Jaqui (6/5): Dog friendly! - Bed and pillow very comfortable- i often can't sleep anywhere without my own pillow- so thumbs up there.
However: cracked sink with empty soap dispenser, creaky floors, creaky heating pipes and creaking water pipes made a broken sleep a huge thumbs down. (I think, lined curtains would help with it being so daylight outside too).
They let me take my dog in which was great as there was kids outside smashing bottles which unsettled me if i had to leave dog in car. They really should add dog friendly to website. Thank u for that wendy.
Limited street parking and noisy room will make me double think future stays.
Breakfast at 9am but i left early so cant comment on food.
- Stephen (10/5): - Good
- Maureen (10/5): - Beautiful old pub, full of character. Very comfortable beds and fabulous breakfast
- Craig (10/5): - Excellent Value for money.
Fantastic Breakfast
- Peter (8/5): Country Wedding overnight Stay - Unique pub B&B.
Very friendly , good breakfast.
Rather cool on arrival , lack of heating as we were changing for a Wedding.
Better by the next morning. Wedding Country
- Jill (10/5): Lovely stay - Good value for money, very comfortable bed, nice little place, friendly staff and a good breakfast. Rooms are above the bar so there is a little noise but that didn't drag out and didn't cause a problem. Parking is offsite but not far and free. I would stay here again.
- John (10/5): Loved our stay. Will hopefully stay again! - Really enjoyed our stay. Arrived much later than planned due to transport issues but they were very flexible. Breakfast was very tasty. Room was nice. Hotel is quite old fashioned but comfortable and charming and in a lovely old building. Hotel is opposite a pretty church and the village itself is very picturesque. Staff were great, very friendly and funny. Much more interesting than going to one of the chain hotels.
- Wayne (8/5): Kings Arms Cleobury mortimer - Great location in town centre, no parking on pub premises but got a space on road opposite.
Room was clean and comfortable with a king-size bed,
Shower t.v. plus tea and coffee facilities included.
Staff were friendly, and had a lovely full English breakfast the next morning.
- Daniel (10/5): Fantastic stay. - Nice big, clean rooms. Staff are very friendly, and welcoming. Breakfast was fantastic as well. Overall, a great stay for me and my family.
- Mike (10/5): - Friendly and helpful staff, good all round thank you
- Shane (10/5): - The Kings Arms staff were so friendly beds were the best great stay many thanks to them we will be back :-)
- TRACY (8/5): - Pleasant young man showed us to room, gave his name and invited us to contact him if any issues during evening. Spacious well appointed room, v comfortable. Was a Friday and pub busy, sounded as though pub guests were in our room, so clearly did their voices travel through the ceiling or floor. However was quiet after around 11. Ladies on duty during breakfast preparing pub for the day were v pleasant. Breakfast pleasant however earliest times was 9am, later than would have liked, and cooked part didn’t arrive until 9.55. Overall pleasant stay
- Alison (10/5): Fantastic - Absolutely lovely hotel and all those who worked at the hotel were amazing. Very friendly and couldn’t do enough to make us feel welcome. Highly recommend.
- Patricia (10/5): - I had driven from the Isle of Wight to pick up a rescue dog from Farlow. It was a one night stay, I returned after spending some time withe dog & had an excellant meal couldn't faullt the meal or the service & the huge fire was so welcoming. After a good nights sleep in the king size bed I had a very tasty breakfast which set me in good stead for the long drive home. The lady brought the dog to me & had coffee before I left they too were made very welcome.i must mention the price whice was much more reasonable than up the road.
- Colleen (10/5): - Stayed here Saturday 5th March, from the moment we walked in we were greeted very well, checked in easily and was immediately shown to our rooms. Big, beautiful & spotless. Pub was nice, very friendly atmosphere. Breakfast Sunday morning was delicious, lovely and hot and we were all served together. I would definately reccomend the kings arms and will definately be returning
- Jayne (10/5): Great stay, - Staff were very helpful. Lovely feeling to the place. Do expect noise from the bar but remember you are staying in a pub.
We would definitely return and stay again.
- Hayley (8/5): - Room was huge with lovely comfy bed, lovely friendly staff at breakfast which was really yummy. Enjoyed our night out so much we are going back again this week
- mandy (10/5): - Very friendly staff, beautiful room, made us really welcome would definitely stay here again.
- Stephen (10/5): - Staff was excellent and very helpful food was good had a great time would recommend to friends and e
- E (10/5): Very enjoyable stay near the Severn valley. - The reception was friendly and the room was spacious and very nicely furnished. Ensuite area was clean and shower easy to use. Bar and restaurant staff were pleasant and most attentive. The food was excellent, served quickly and very good value - wide choice of dishes available. Excellent breakfast freshly cooked. We'll definitely be back soon!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Well kept comfortable pub breakfast was amazing
- Linda (10/5): Super - Very welcoming staff.
Super big bed very comfy.
Brilliant Thai restaurant next door.
Would stay again if we’re in the area.
- Malcolm (8/5): One night stay - This stay was great value for money. The hotel is an ‘Inn’ with comfortable period rooms. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners. A good full English breakfast and a power shower. The bed was a bit soft for my personal taste but the bedding and towels were clean and fresh. The only down side was you can’t get a taxi tie love nor money as the town is quite remote.
- Ashwin kumar (10/5): Very comfortable stay, will definitely recommend - We enjoyed our stay. We stayed for 3 nights, service was very good. Made us feel special and comfortable. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Only street parking is available, but plenty is available. We found parking everyday within a minutes walk. The high street is good, has decent option to eat. The food at Kings Arm was very good, My wife is vegetarian and they had good options. Breakfast was better than lot of other places we had stayed. No food server on Saturday and Sunday evening, so you have to be careful while planning. Most of the walks we planned were within 30 mins drive so location wise not bad at all.
- Jason (8/5): Stay hear you will not be disappointed - Location fantastic. The staff couldn’t do enough for you, very good. Rooms ideal and comfortable. The only downside the walls seems pretty thin and you can hear everything going on in the pub, that said it is probably because of the age of the pub- this adds to the character. Overall a good place to stay 😀
- Zsuzsanna (10/5): - It was nice and clean room, staff was wery friendly. We got tasty breakfast they cooking wery well.
- ian (10/5): A good experience - Late night check in en route, comfy bed, good breakfast, great staff and lively bar atmosphere
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Liked the olde world feel but with that comes creaky floors!
- Alastair (10/5): Comfortable and quiet - This made an excellent base for touring this lovely area. Room was quiet, clean and comfortable and everything worked fine. Only on-street parking but no problem finding a place. Tasty freshly-cooked breakfast with good coffee.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Noise from pub was loud in room and music was played to gone midnight
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A one night unwind with my 20 year old son. Great location. Beer, food and service were all fantastic. Will definitely stay again
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We asked to have breakfast early on the sat morning as we were going out for the day they only turned up at 8 30 to open up and started cleaning so we asked for coffee and the reply was in a minute im busy she was quite rude but the next morning the lady was fine very polite .
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely friendly staff , good food definitely going back there
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The room was clean and staff very helpful. Parking on street outside was actually no problem either night. Bed quite soft.
- Sheila (10/5): One night stay - The room and staff were excellent, but the food about average
- Gail (8/5): Good value - Very friendly and helpful staff. Great place in centre of town. This is not a complaint,,,but as it is such an old building...sound carries and I could hear people speaking in the next bedroom and from the bar below. It didn't bother me but might if you wanted a quiet visit!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great check-in, lovely place and very clean and looked after. Would recommend over and over again :)
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Right in the middle of town and the room was above the bar so a little noisy however we were in the bar so no problem if you don’t want a early night on a Friday. Staff were super friendly and rooms very good value for the price and I would return and if you want to come to cleobury I would recommend.
- Paul (6/5): - The stay was reasonably comfortable but the room was in need of some tlc ,lighting in the room was poor, the bed needs a headboard attached .
- Stephen (10/5): Good basic choice - For basically good accommodation, good value, with good customer service, this is a good choice. Clean room, maybe a little dated, but comfortable. Good en-suite shower/toilet. Despite a kitchen electrical failure, breakfast was still provided by using a local café - good customer service without any fuss. We came away feeling happy with the experience, and what more can be asked?
- JohnM (10/5): Faultless For The Price - Extremely pleasant stay and one of the best breakfasts I’ve had for a very long time.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely stay at the king's arms. Very large room and very comfortable bed. Nice setting, right in the middle of the centre of town.
Excellent hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent and friendly staff, good value for money
- Roger (8/5): We'd go there again, but maybe not on a Saturday. - The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. We were worried when we arrived on Saturday evening because there was quite a lot of noise from the pub downstairs, but it stopped around 11 p.m. and we had a perfectly quiet, peaceful night thereafter. It's almost certainly quieter on weeknights.
The breakfast was excellent and the staff couldn't have been more helpful.
We were just passing through so can't comment on the local area.
- Michele (10/5): Good location - We recently stayed for two nights at the Kings Arms. We were immediately made very welcome by the staff and they were happy to change our room from a twin to a double. The room we were given was beautifully decorated, very spacious with a king size bed. There was a good sized en suite shower room. Tea and coffee making facilities with complimentary biscuits, bottled water and even some local beer! Breakfast was excellent and we also had an evening meal which was also very good
- Christine (10/5): Above and beyond excellent! - The Kings Arms is a lovely old inn, with a characterful salon and dining area - very atmospheric. My ensuite room was charming, comfortable, clean, and well appointed with TV, wifi, the makings for tea, and a modern bathroom with fluffy towels. The service was remarkable. The manager, Wendy, went out of her way to honor a request from my daughters in the US, who asked that a note be placed at my breakfast table to wish me a Happy Mother’s Day. Wendy actually bought a card for me from them and signed their names with love and kisses. I couldn’t have been more moved and impressed! Thank you, Wendy! I will definitely recommend The King’s Arms!
- ALAN (6/5): - just a stopover, shame they don't do a early breakfast on a sunday as some people need to be on their way early.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - noisy in the evening
- Julian (10/5): - Lovely country pub hotel great food nice rooms and friendly staff and locals. If I’m in the area again I will definitely be stopping here.
- Paul (6/5): - Helpful, pleasant staff and nice food. room right above the bar could hear all the conversations until closing time.
- John (8/5): - Comfortable room, good food, good beer. Drawback is no off street parking. Also my room was above the bar and noisy until about 11pm. Friendly helpful staff. Building of age and character. Not good for disabled as old building with uneven floors and no lift, which can't be helped in a building of that age.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Clean room. Drink in bar before bed nice - Although the room was clean our overall experience was disappointing. On our second morning the heating didnt come on and the hot water ran out after a minute in the shower. The explanation for this was that it had been windy the night before and the boiler must have blown out. We also found the mattress' were far too soft so we didnt sleep well.
- Jean (4/5): Nice hotel but loud disco music bar - Arrival and check in at the "hotel" was a pleasant experience and the room was comfortable and clean. Check in staff friendly and helpful. No meals were served at the weekends, which was a surprise, but breakfast the next morning was good. The Kings Arms is a popular pub, especially at weekends, which we found out at 7:30pm when the loud music started. We had been warned that we might hear music from the bar, but did not expect the room to reverberate and the music to be so loud. We could almost see the floor and walss shaking. This went on until 11;30pm when I finally called and asked that the sound be turned down. It was finally turned off a midnight. We were very tired after a long drive, and the fact that we could not sleep until after the pub closed was not at all pleasant. We complained to the staff the next day, and were not charged for the stay. Suggest that any guests avoid the weekends in order to have a very pleasant experience.
- Ellie (8/5): 1 night only - Very nice clean room, everything we needed was provided, hairdryer, tea, coffee etc.
We had a drink in the pub , great atmosphere but were a bit disappointed as they don't do meals on a Saturday night :( we ended up going up the road for a takeaway. The only downside was we could hear everyone from the bar below, saying that we just turned the TV up and relaxed on a very comfy bed! Shower was excellent as was the full English breakfast in the morning, piping hot and tasty all included in the price! We would definitely stay here again :)
- Alan (8/5): Good hotel for visiting Shropshire/Worcestershire. - Most enjoyable stay with lovely room and very friendly and efficient staff.
