• Konio (4/5): Comes with a great view and poor customer service - The view and convenience Old drapey carpet that needs changing, apartment not properly cleaned with stains on walls and cobwebs on top edges of blinds, no cleaning materials and no cleaning offered for long duration of stay, poor communication by property manager with late responses or no response at all,no booklet or instructions on how to use the thermostat, old cheap Kogan tv and faulty tv remote control, needs more clothes hangers, would be nice to have a king size bed and some basic cooking items in the apartment for the duration and price paid, such as salt, pepper, cooking oil etc,

• Peter (1/5): Disappointing. Disrespectful and Dismissive! - A disgraceful experience all around. A specific request was made for a quiet room and was given a room adjacent to several noisy lifts. When I reached out for support, multiple parties blamed one another as Booking.com only utilizes external parties and defaults to an Asian call center on weekends. No host was there to meet me as promised at a specific time resulting in a substantial financial contract being lost given strict meeting times which were obviously delayed. Please see the attached image of the room on the fire escape floor plan - any guesses as to which room I was provided? Furthermore, when I requested a different room, none were available resulting in me having to find another hotel for accommodation. No refund was provided, so $1500 AUD was lost. Add an additional $1500 for an alternate accommodation option and you have a significant financial loss! For the readers, please be aware of the disgraceful support afforded by Booking.com My respectful advice is to always book with hotels directly and you can deal with professionals directly!

This is because the building is mostly residential ... and front desk does NOT support VRBO clients. The location is perfect and the building is very nice. HOWEVER, you have to watch a video and get approved to use the gym. It takes 30 mins to get approved for a 60 minute workout.

• Verified traveler (2/5): - The property was great beautiful views well worth the money...My husband got for me as I have been sick and going through chemo therapy and in and out of hospital and it was my birthday he wanted to surprise me which he did. My husband had organised a couple of family members to meet us at the appartments as he had also made 9pm dinner arrangements at crown casino. As we were getting ready we had foxtel on the tv on the music channel when a couple of family members arrived. As we were about to leave for dinner he received a phone call stating that we are having a party and that we had 15 min to pack our stuff and and leave the premises....as you could imagine we were a little confused about this. We tried to talk to the lady asking what is it we had done to deserve this treatment she insisted we were having a party and we have to leave right away with no refunds. We then showed her There was no party there only 1 friend my mum and dad and my uncle and auntie there and we were just about to walking out the door as we had a 9pm dinner booking. They did not care about this and insisted that we had to leave ASAP she then went and got security we have not long arrived and had the apartment booked for the weekend...due to this happening we missed our dinner arrangements and had to leave ASAP in disbelief. I have never been so disappointed and so disgusted by the treatment we received it was my 49th birthday we are not kids and didn’t deserve to be treated this way very disappoint

The apartment was well set up and the kitchen had plenty of crockery etc.. We didnt cook though. The bed was comfy and the small balcony overlooking the Yarra was great for the NY fireworks. Furniture getting a bit tired and carpet in bad need of stretching plus there was a large crack on the mirror in the bathroom door. The walls could also do with a freshen up. Overall very enjoyable. The guy who met us at the property was great and showed us everything we needed to know. Would definitely stay again.

Floor boards had big air bubbles underneath which made some places weird to walk on, broken blinds that couldn't come down, the bench looked like it hadnt been wipped down there was stains and cup marks still on there.. aircon didnt work so the room was veryy hot and couldnt even open no windows or nothing! Oh and one of the wheels on one of the beds was just sitting there so when you sit on it.. it broke! Then get charged a 50$ weekend check in fee when we checked out that wasn't specified on the site prior to booking! Disappointing is and understatement!! Wouldn't stay here again.

• Helen (10/5): City Views! Location! River Views! Location - We had a girls weekend, the 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit was good value and perfectly located on Southbank. We were greeted on arrival by a very helpful chap (so very sorry I can't remember your name). The unit had everything we needed and the city views were stunning! We will definitely be back. We stayed in unit 1207 2 nights check in 15th of June.
• Bella (8/5): Great location and clean apartment - Worth it for the view of the river and ease of walk to everything. Friendly staff member met us to check in and explain everything. Simple drop box for keys on check out. Apartment needs some TLC and some little hidden fees were annoying ($5 per day for wifi, extra $50 for check in after 7pm). Worth it for the price though, and would stay again.

• Verified traveler (8/5): Great location - Great location, near train,trams &bus services. My Son & I went to Melbourne (1st time) for Aus Open &could walk to venue. Also walk to National Gallery of Victoria, a must visit &its free! Central to Southbank dining, DFO Shopping 15min walk or cross bridge to heart of Melbourne. Only had few issues:bathroom had hair on floor so had to clean that up,however must say once management knew they sent housekeeping promptly. Also pics showed Queen&Single so assumed i had option,however AFTER booking was advised single beds only in 2bedroom apartments; &there's no Reception Desk so no where to leave your bags if have a late flight,however there are lockers at Southern Cross station-$16 for 24hrs, whilst not expensive it was more the inconvenience &worry they may all be taken &we stuck with our luggage till head to airport at 6pm. Also no Reception meant managers available week days 9 to 5pm so anything go wrong or need assistance in appartment with appliance etc over a Saturday or Sunday there was no one to ring or ask, only for emergency. Thankfully nothing went wrong for us but didnt like the feeling no one available. Also no one to ask general questions on direction, tram numbers & venues to visit or lobby brochures. All worked out & we had great time just would have preferred to have known the bedding &no Reception (no where to leave your bags) on the FIRST appearance of advertising, ie: list of hundreds of hotels/apartments on Expedia, not AFTER non-refundable booking is made.

Cannot really ask for any type of room service. Customer requires to do everything themselves. (Repair guy just came in without any notice. Unexpected visit. No formal notification in prior. None of their staff advised in prior) Very poor customer care service.

• Jen (6/5): Clunky check in & very limited service on weekends - Booked & paid in full online, weeks before the stay, and the confirmation email asked us to call to confirm - so I did. They said thanks for calling, please call again when you are leaving the airport - ok sure. So they call us up the day before our check in to confirm everything and STILL want us to call the next day when we are 30min away. Never before have I had to have three separate conversations about check in before it even happened (52 countries and counting...) esp when we've already paid in full! Other issue was that we were checking out at 10am on a Sunday, flight wasn't til 1, so needed somewhere to store our bags for an hour. The check in notes left us a number to call during business hours but could use it on weekends if required (considering it was a weekend stay, we didnt have much choice!!) so I asked where they have a baggage storage facility, the girl that answered couldnt help me but kindly offered to leave a message and have someone call me back the next business day (by which time I would have been home for 24hrs... how helpful) just as well we didnt have a midnight flight or we would have been stuck carting our bags all day and night around Melbourne. More positively, we were upgraded to a bigger room which was a nice surprise, it was pretty clean and it was a great location. I just feel the other things hampered the experience. At the end of the day there are plenty of other options in Southbank so I wouldnt stay here again.

No problems with checkin & checkout Fantastic location, walking distance to Crown & the Melbourne convention centre. Full kitchen, & washer/dryer combo. Great facilities, pool, sauna, and BBQ area. Very clean apartment both inside, as well as the facilities. Will definitely stay here again. IGA across the road was a plus too. Will definitely stay here again.
• Gayle (10/5): BLOWN AWAY BY OUR VIEW - As we were two ladies travelling location was paramount. Freshwater place was in the perfect location, safe walking distance to everything we needed and more. Just outside of our doorway was an arcade that had all the eateries one could ask for and directly across a fully licenced IGA. We were totally blow away by our view - looking out across the Yarra and Crown Casino and views all the way to the bay. The only thing i would complain about was the heating which we struggled to control overnight and were cooking in 26 degrees - perhaps a little instruction on use would have been handy.. Other than that everything we need and more... We will definetly book again and again. We felt safe, comfortable and were very very happy with our apartment...

We stayed a year ago and loved the ultra modern apartment overlooking crown casino, however this time we were in a dated, average room that was extremely underwhelming. No pride in the property. • Lee (10/5): Our Go too - Just stayed here over the weekend for 3 days, and fell in love with the place. It was perfect position along SouthBank, all the great Resturants, Bars, Casino, all the Entertainment right there and right on the Yarra, plus Public Transport. The views from our Room and Balcony on the 31st floor were just spectacular. The Apartment was so clean and the beds were very comfortable. There is a great little Supermarket and Bottle shop and Chemist right at the front door as well, not to mention the abundance of Coffee Shops, even Maccas and Subway for that late night snack. We are definately going to recommend this place to all of our friends who visit Melbourne alot. And from now on this is the only place we are going to stay. Love it.

• Martos (8/5): Great apartment except the spa is not hot. - Everything about the apartment was great, except that the spa is cold... lukewarm at best, and the water is connected to the main pool. Although this is a minor issue, it was an extremely unpleasant surprise.

• Leanne (10/5): Great apartment close to all the restaurants - We enjoyed our stay at the apartments very much. It was close to everything we needed. We also loved the view. The only issue would be the shower head. It was too high up and came out sparingly. Overall the apartment was neat, tidy and clean and we would highly recommend same. If we go back to Melbourne, I would definitely book this accommodation again.

Only problem is that although it had a reception, they are not part of the holiday apartments and therefore there was no place to leave bags when arriving early or leaving. This was a pain, as I had to check out at 10am, but didn't fly out until late. I had to carry my bags around the city all day.

• Pisces74 (4/5): Nothing special - I selected this apartment based on the great reviews; I wish I had those experiences for my 5 day stay. Checking in is a hot mess. You need to make an appointment to check in. Then confirm the time. Then text them 45 minutes before arrival. After all that, they called me after the agreed check in time to ask me where I was. Only then did they turn up (late). Apparently the key had been lost and I was issued with a special key that needed to be replaced the next day but I didn't hear any more about it. All the advertising photos are of light filled apartments with beautiful views. Mine proved to be a dark and noisy apartment with views of a dumpster and 24 hour loading dock. There were 15 steep stairs from the entry to the living space (not mentioned in the ad). There was a small balcony but no key to open doors. It was missing the promised work desk, which was inconvenient. The apartment was spacious and well apppointed, except for the lounge which had bottomed out. The ad did explain there was no reception or baggage hold (a pay locker self-service might be helpful for customers). Great location but I'll try one of the many other apartment complexes next time.

The rooftop garden is pleasant. The pool and gym is amazing. We loved the sauna. The hot pool wasn't warm enough.

Room looked good on surface, but needed maintenance. ie Light bulbs not working, laundry doors broken, carpet stained and general wear and tear. Internet not available unless set up before arrival and was not advised of this. Was told to see concierge for pool access, but had to download an in house app and watch video and answer questions first. Without internet this was impossible. No alternative given. Pool was also closed for residence meeting and 2nd pool closed for maintenance.

You are made to feel like an interloper. "Review this website - wifi is extra $ - late arrival (after 7pm) costs extra" - lots of "Strict conditions". This is all geared toward the company renting the asset and little about the user experience. All the process stuff not worth the hassle for short term (a few days) stay. Might be worth considering for longer term - eg week or more. And the "EXTRA CHARGES" are NOT obvious in the website and associated marketing.

• Verified traveler (6/5): Noisy room and a few annoying details. - Our stay in Freshwater place left quite a bit to be desired. From creaky floors that would wake other people to noisy elevators that could be heard all night in the master bedroom and an aircon system that had a mind of its own with no instructions for use, it was difficult to get a good night's rest. Whilst the check-in assistant was very nice, the need to book a check-in time and then reconfirm the day of arrival then call 30mins prior is an annoyance. There were also details like needing to exit the car-park and then find a parking space so you can drop the keys into the box that just make things harder than they should be. The room had a great view and the amenities and the building's location are great. It just could have been a lot better.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Worth it for the views - Our family enjoyed our weekend away at freshwater place. Very secure building in a great location. We had great river/city views from our apartment and kids loved watching the helicopters fly past. Kids also loved the pool and there is also a large gym (you need to fill out online form for access). Apartment was a good size, we had the 2 bedroom which also had two bathrooms, washer/ dryer and full kitchen which was well equipped with all required utensils. Only negatives not having all the Foxtel channels and some street noise especially on Saturday night but that is to be expected with the location. Also carpet in the dining area is not great with young kids. But overall we were pretty happy with it.

• Anthony (10/5): Great Stay - Great apartment with excellent facilities. Location is fantastic and could not be placed better within the Melbourne CBD. Room was very clean and staff of both the apartment and hotels.com were great. Only issue was the laundry sink had an occasional smell that would fill the bathroom was a bit unpleasant but never did the smell come into the bedroom or other areas. Was bearable. All in all a fantastic stay would definitely recommend
• Jon (10/5): Well located to tram and restaurants. - Excellent city views from our 2 bedroom apartment overlooking the Yarra. Many Southbank restaurants within a few minutes walk and across the road from Crown Casino. A tram station is located nearby, which takes you directly to Queen Victoria markets and Melbourne Zoo.
• alex (6/5): Fantastic location and gym and pool facilities - Fantastic location in southbank, easy access to fine and casual dining, trams and cbd. Gym well equipped and spacious. 20-25m pool, sauna, steam room, spa. Rooms clean...cleaners actually arrived 1 min before checkout time and started cleaning before we left. Zero hot water pressure in showers. So unless you dont mind cold showers, use the showers at the gym. Building management were strict but not helpful. They watched your every move in the gym and pool and were quick to arrive if you broke a rule. Concierge wont mind your bags if you want to check out but stay in town for longer...so straight to the airport after checkout.

• Lydia (10/5): Great location, awesome pool and amenities - This residential apartment building is wonderful, with great amenities, including a lap pool, large sauna and steam room, media room, and outdoor garden with several BBQ areas - big enough for little kids to ride their scooters. Location is awesome, right on Southbank, near the casino and walking distance to Federation Square. Just be aware the apartment is privately owned, so there is a rental company that handles the bookings and a separate greeting service that manages the keys. We found that the greeter arrived late and then ignored us while he showed someone else to their apartment. He told us we had full Foxtel, but it turned out to be just basic channels. We were expecting free wifi but the code wasn't included and when I tried to chase up with the greeter I was told to contact the booking company. I had trouble booking this apartment with hotels.com online, so had ended up booking it through the hotels.com phone service, so perhaps the free wifi didn't come through on the order properly? The confirmation email I received from the phone booking was quite basic compared to the confirmations I usually receive on hotels.com when I book online, so I think that may have been the problem. Anyway, the apartment was lovely. We were on the 27th floor and one wall is glass, so we had awesome views of the river, looking towards Crowne Casino. The view changes over the day as the light changes, beautiful. Easy to walk around SouthBank, plenty of restaurants and cafes.
