Everything starts with how they greet and treat you at arrival, where you feel that the service is on a high level. It continued to be so throughout the stay. I stayed in the Waterfront View King Room, which was spacious and practical. All the details are in place, as expected from a high-end hotel. Ordered in-room service several times, because it was delicious and enabled me to eat and enjoy the view from the room. Bed was very comfortable, AC could be set to a non-intrusive fan speed & everything was spotless. Special thanks goes to Mr. Stephen from the front desk, who helped me solve the problem of the no-show charge from the first night.

• Camper55963763941 (8/5): Thank you for a comfortable stay. - When making my reservation, I had shared with the reservations agent that I lived and worked in Macau for 15 years and that my wife and I were returning after four years. The agent responded warmly and expressed appreciation for our visit, which set a positive tone and raised my expectation The airport transfer was booked through the hotel. The vehicle itself was well-equipped, clean, and very comfortable. The greeter was welcoming upon arrival and guided us efficiently to the pickup point. The car arrived within two minutes, and we were promptly on our way — all of which was greatly appreciated. However, the journey to the hotel, although short, fell short of our expectations. There was no communication or engagement from the greeter during the drive. Having lived and worked in Macau for 15 years, this was not an issue for us personally, as we are already familiar with the destination and what it has to offer. That said, I would have expected a brief orientation or introduction, especially for guests who may be visiting for the first time. Even a simple overview of the hotel or nearby attractions would have enhanced the experience. If language confidence was a concern, I believe an effort could still have been made — my wife is Singaporean Chinese, and we would have appreciated any attempt to engage. Given your Forbes 5-Star standard and the consistency the hotel has maintained over the years, I would expect this level of personalised service to be part of the experience. The room was well appointed, and I particularly appreciated the pre-installed charging cable—it was a thoughtful and convenient touch. The soundproofing was also excellent; we didn’t hear any external noise throughout our stay, which made for a very comfortable experience. After settling in and preparing to head out, we realised that the in-room safe wasn’t working. To avoid losing time, we proceeded with our dinner plans and contacted Facilities upon our return at around 22:00.Facilities responded promptly and attended to the issue without delay, ultimately replacing the safe door. Following this, the safe functioned well for the remainder of our stay. The view would have been amazing, but I understand that clear visibility in Macau is something to be cherished 😄—so no fault there at all. I’m aware that renovations are underway, which is certainly timely, as the bathroom is starting to look a little tired and would benefit from a refresh.

• vinceh517 (10/5): Great Value Luxury Experience - This was a memorable experience that felt so personal. ALL the staffs were professional and friendly. But what made it special is how tentative they are and the effort they make (our house keeping staff wrote us a hand written note to welcome us). We had the ocean view room which was incredible and the bathroom has a huge tube which is great for couple to enjoy. The hotel offers some top notch dinning options which are incredible as well. Great value for what you get.

Nice view of the city and other side of Macau. Convenient shuttle service into the main part of town too. The room had a slightly unpleasant smell; it was a non-smoking room and it was also present in the corridors, so it might just be some cleaning agent. We also checked in early and told to come back later (3pm), which is fine. We came back at 3 45pm and we still had to wait another 15 minutes for them to check the room was ready.

Due to a missed flight, we had to delay our arrival until late evening. Despite the change, the hotel team was incredibly understanding and held our room without any issues. A special thank you to Patrick from the Contact Centre, who kindly offered to arrange a transfer for us when he learned of our situation. Although we ultimately decided to make our own way to the hotel, his thoughtful gesture and readiness to help truly impressed us. The warmth and professionalism shown by the team made us feel well taken care of, and we’re grateful for the smooth check-in after a long day of travel. Highly recommend Altira Macau for anyone looking for both comfort and outstanding service.

• janielsh (10/5): A Hotel worth the money - The room is spacious, neat and clean. We love the bathtub especially our kids since there is also a tv where you can watch while relaxing. We were provided with a cake for the kids and the kids love it. We were also provided with kids toiletries and bathrobes which is not common to other hotels. The pool is warm and the view is picture perfect. The amenities also include dry sauna, steam sauna and a jacuzzi which I think is a plus especially to those who are tired and just want to relax away from a busy life. Overall, this is a hotel worth your money!

• 360-HL (10/5): Pleasant and Warm Welcome Stay~ - My stay was incredibly pleasant. The room was spacious and featured amazing glass windows that offered beautiful scenery. The hotel provides a shuttle bus to several tourist spots; however, be sure to check that the schedule at the pick-up point matches what is shown at the hotel. If there is a discrepancy, please use the schedule at the pick-up point as your guide. The swimming pool is currently closed, but the large round bathtub is a nice alternative. The room's design is similar to a suite, offering a comfortable experience for all hotel guests. Due to the holiday season, I found the prices to be higher than I expected. Overall, I have no complaints. Just keep up the good work!

• H6092WSlaurav (10/5): Blown away by the room I stayed in - Probably the best hotel I've stayed at in my life, all the little room service add-ons were impeccable. A few complimentary non-alcoholic drinks in the minibar, lots of little useful bits and bobs provided in the room by default, fresh fruit serviced to the room whilst we were out for dinner, complimentary late-check out for our stay... Excellent service all around and it was the very first hotel ever in my life where I didn't have to clean the bathtub before using it (and I've stayed in more expensive hotels during work travels before). This was just great for a couples getaway and would definitely come back! The shuttle bus is great as well, would be useful to know about it before arrival, as there is one to the border gate as well. We took the standard bus, but will use their shuttle service next time we visit again.

And Susan who handling my request which I don’t like a connecting room, she promptly arranged to new room. HK staff - the lady sorry I don’t know her name, is superb who assign on 30 floor. Even time I arrive to front desk, Front Desk - Phillip is always ready to assist. Miss Linda is very helpful when I need to print the Doc which she arranged and help me a lot. All team members of FO are being polite but only one thing is still needs the emotional intelligence. If this one touch, there will be more warm and personalized service. Concierge team also great service. And final one I am very impressed is operator team, so professional answering phone call. Very well trained staff and meet and service standards all the time. Actually, I tried to test several time hahaha. But all the times are great. For me, as a hotelier, I really recommend this hotel and nice local, well trained staff, nice and clean room. • 971rexv (10/5): The ultimate luxury hotel stay - This is hands down the best hotel I have ever had the pleasure to stay in by creating a calm oasis of luxury just a short distance from the glitz and glamour of the Cotai Strip. Altira Macau is in a wonderful location in the shadows of Cotai and Taipa, conveniently accessible on foot. Altira Macau made sure I had everything I needed during my stay. Every single member of the staff was incredibly welcoming and kind, and being greeted by name was a lovely personal touch. I stayed in a King Ocean View Room, which felt like a spacious suite. The room was laid out in an open plan style with 3 distinct areas: the bedroom, the living space and the bathroom. The best part of the hotel room was the view, which provided unobstructed views across the Macau Peninsula, and the living area was set up to allow guests to really enjoy these views. The room had incredible facilities, including a complimentary minibar and fruit bowl. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room was soundproofed. I didn’t hear a thing from the other rooms around me, which gave me such a wonderful sense of privacy and security throughout my entire stay. The room was incredibly well designed, and even though it was not an adapted room, it was the perfect size for anyone with a wheelchair or walking aid to mobilise without worrying that the equipment would not fit. The bathroom was also laid out in a way that made it accessible for wheelchairs. The facilities in the hotel were incredible, and the swimming pool area was more like a spa. I appreciated the sauna and jacuzzi in the changing rooms, as I often feel uncomfortable in mixed gender facilities. The restaurants in this hotel provided fine dining experiences for an affordable price. My favourite was the Aurora Italian restaurant, as they had a vast number of vegetarian options available. However, some restaurants in the hotel require reservations, especially on weekends. I would recommend the Altira Macau for anyone travelling to Macau and would not hesitate to stay at their hotel again. It was a bargain in price as well. A hotel like this in Europe would have easily been more than 500€ a night. They deserve the stars they are given.

• Nancy (10/5): Very beautiful hotel - The gentleman who did my check in was just amazing, Ronald, I hope I remember his name right, he gave me an amazing first impression of the hotel, he was professional and very nice, he answered all my questions and made me feel welcomed. I chose Altira to watch the fireworks on the evening of Lantern Festival. The view from the room was just perfect. The show was magical. The room was spacious and beautiful.

The luxury brands used for hairdryers and general amenities truly elevate the experience. I felt as though I was in a first-class establishment, where every detail was thoughtfully curated for guest comfort. Both the rooms and changing facilities are well-equipped, offering a range of complimentary amenities like toothbrushes, moisturisers, and shavers, making it incredibly convenient. The service is genuinely exceptional! Additionally, the location is perfect, providing breathtaking views of the Macau harbour. This experience is truly world-class! Everything was perfectly splendid!
• Xiaodong (10/5): - Nice and spacious room, comfortable bedding, excellent 180 degrees view of Macau, ocean and bay bridges. Several restaurants offer delicious dishes of different styles and levels, including the Michelin Star and the 38 Lounge. Not in the crowded areas, but transportation is convenient by taxi or multiple buses for a short distance to where most tourists would visit. One best part is 15-20 minutes easy walk to the famous 官也 streets, where you go for authentic Macau and Portuguese foods. The in-door pool area is well equipped, charming with great view.

• Paul (10/5): Good value 5-star hotel in Taipa - Really good value 5-star hotel in Taipa (if you don't mind not being on the Strip). Rooms are huge and modern, pool and health club facilities are fantastic, and staff were super helpful. Part of City of Dreams/Studio City group, so there are free shuttle buses to those casinos, and Taipa Village, which has lots of cute old school restaurants, is about 15 mins walk away.

• Tranvo (10/5): Relaxing - The staff was extremely helpful and happy to do so. They could also communicate in English efficiently. The facilities was large, clean and aesthetic. The pool had washrooms that includes saunas, hot tubs, showers, toilets and an area to get ready (which was stocked with utilities). The rooms was also extremely spacious with a city view. Overall, it’s worth staying at for the relaxing sensations and high end treatment. The room service food is highly expensive, $40 AUD for a small plate of pasta and $80 AUD for a rice dish. Although, it should be noted that these dishes are from high end (5 star and michelin) restaurants in the hotel. This wasn’t a huge deal, as there was a shopping centre that was a 5 minute walk away.
