- Nikolaus (7/5): - The highlight of our 9 nights stay in a "warrior appartement " were the meals , which we took in a separat dinning hut. Mr Brian , the chef. served a a nice rice breakfast ! In most cases the lunch was just OK , and the dinner was sometimes excellent and sometimes average. After l complained about cold soupes for dinner , they were served nice and hot ! Mr. Tom showed me around the enviroment , where we spotted Giraffes , Zebras , Gazelles and warthoges on a 2 hour walk. As well Mr. Brian took us out on a wild-life hike. It, s possible to rent a 26 inch bike for riding the roads around the camp , if they were not in too muddy condition... The nights were quiet , sometimes a fire was lit at the fireplace in the camps center. The camp lies near a small massai village . To reach it you have to cross a " adventures small high wood -brigde " crossing a muddy river. Unfortunatly the camp , which consists of many tiny and medium sized tent - houses ( very vasic ! ) and a few larger appartements ( more adequat ) Surrounded by thick hedges , which are the home of MANY HUNGRY MOSKITOS , which are bussy during all night and even in shady places during the day.... So lots of moskitospray is a must ! Since it was " rainy season " the air and surface were humid and wet . To hike around , rubberboots are to recomend !

- Carsten (9/5): Sehr zu empfehlen, besonders wegen der netten Menschen. - Äußerst herzliches Personal, sehr schön in der Natur gelegen, tolle Nature Walks, Kontakt zum Maasai Village, keine luxuriöse Küche, dafür äußerst schmackhaft. Kein großer Luxus, aber alles was man braucht. Ausstattung ist in die Jahre gekommen.

Un grand merci à Kwenya ( notre Massai attentionné ), Tom (Mac Gyver), Brian ( in the kitchen), Angela et tous les autres. Pas d inconvénients, on a trouvé ce que nous sommes venues chercher: de la simplicité et de l authenticité.
- Natalie (10/5): - Simba camp is an amazing place to stay, especially if you want to experience the local culture and see wildlife. The chef cooked delicious food and even went out of his way to cater to my son's fussy eating. The highlights were definitely the morning and evening walks with Kwenia to see the wildlife and learn about the bush, the school and village visits, and beading with the local women. A very memorable experience. Nothing.

Nous avons eu des hébergements nettement supérieurs beaucoup moins chers près des autres parcs pour safaris. Les boissons des repas (même l'eau) sont non comprises. Coin wifi très restreint, seulement accessible au coin du feu. Chambre sans clé, peu isolée de la lumière et du bruit. Fourmis dans la salle de bain. L'ensemble du site a besoin de rénovation.

Great friendly staff and good chef & food. Can arrange local transport plus safaris at great prices.

Food was freshly cooked & delicious we stayed 3nights enjoying the morning & afternoon walks in nature spotting wildlife If you arrive by train arrange for some one to pick you up from Emali . Hut accommodation was small but very comfortable for two & very attractive location & ambience 10/10 N/A
- Maya (7/5): Quiet place in beautiful surroundings - + Naturewalk, don't miss it! + Thank you Brian for the great veganfood you cooked for us. +Clean tent, that gets cleaned everyday. Some tips for the future; The pool needs a little bit more cleaning. It would have been nice to know a bit earlier that we could use a shower in another room when ours didn't work. It was a bit confusing that one employee told us we should tip for the naturewalk and another that we definitely shouldn't, that it was included in the price.

- Trang (6/5): It was okay - The staff are very nice and friendly. They were very supportive. We had a nice afternoon walk, and Tom was very knowledgeable about the species around. We had a nice conversation with him about the Masai people and their culture. This is the most overpriced place we've ever stayed. The facilities are super old, the floor was full of sands... the food was the worst I've ever had in Kenya. They could try to do better with the price charged.
- Iwona (10/5): One of the best places I’ve ever stayed - Although a bit off the beaten track we think it’s a bonus as our highlight was definitely the nature walks with Kwenia, he is so knowledgeable and everytime we went for a walk we saw animals, zebras, antilopes, ostriches and so many giraffes not mentioning lots lots of birds. And unforgettable views of Kilimanjaro, different in the evening and morning. Food is also very good and everybody makes you feel at home. We stayed 3 nights but I wish we could spend more time there, we loved our tent, I can’t believe how crispy clean our sheets were! It’s really easy from Nairobi, we took a 1.5 htrain to Emali and we were picked up from the station (30$ for a pick up) I hope to be back. WiFi comes and goes but it’s a reset place so we didn’t mind

- Piet (9/5): Superb - The morning and evening safari walk was very enjoyable, saw lots of wildlife, I even saw some porcupines. Nicely decorated buildings, and a comfortable stay in one of the banda's. The meals were plentiful and very good. To get there, you must cross deep sand in a dry riverbed, no problem with 4wd, but maybe a challenge without 4wd.

The greatest advantage of this place are people, everybody is very nice, we have had a nice naturewalk with one of the masais. The food was very good. The only disadvantage was the distance the the park gate , but it is managable
- Michele (10/5): Exceptional - The Maasai Simba Camp was an authentic experience we will not forget! They picked us up from the train station and once we were settled in our comfortable tent and had tea, we were treated to an early evening, two-hour bush walk with Quenia, our guide. We booked a full Safari drive booked the next day for which they packed us breakfast and lunch. The day was fantastic! We didn’t stay long enough to take advantage of visiting the village - next time. Although we were the only guests at the time and were told they would be cooking “just enough” food for our consumption, we were stuffed after every meal and the food was delicious. We especially loved the open-air common sitting area with the constantly burning fireplace and the shelves of novels and reference books - they did everything possible to make one feel right at home!

- Ulo (10/5): Super, welcoming, cadual, relaxing Maasai homely ho hospitality - The staff all local Maasi villagers far exceeded any 5 star friendliness, helpfulness and more, The huge portions of food by chef Brian were o so tasty even with my poor appetite i gorged on every delight, nothing was to much trouble and the evening outdoor fireside company and chats made it even more hospitable, 2 well travelled Sth African guests summed it up beautifully by saying "this is quite the find" its now a facilty for fancy 5 star wanting guests, that what makes it a 6 star I think the high speed and availability of the free WiFi, would disappoint some, but for ne it mattered not

Perfect for Nairobians to enjoy a relaxing Amboseli weekend. Check out their SGR package. The camp itself is dated, but I expected that. The soft furnishings are new - I really love the curtain fabrics and decor.
- Daniel (8/5): Exceptional value for an eco-people-wildlife oriented nature field trip. - This is a Maasai community-run camp that has some very friendly Maasai staff. They provided very good services at modest costs. The camp is semi-rustic and has running water and shower facilities in the cabins and for those who stay in tents. The camp sits by a river and by a Maasai village. There is lots of wildlife around the camp such as zebra, giraffes, wild beasts and antelopes that you can see with a half day nature walking Maasai guide, dressed in traditional wear. The camp is gated to keep wild animals out. I also took part in an exceptional guided game drive in Amboseli Park which has outstanding views of Mt, Kilimanjaro, and just about any big African wildlife that you can imagine. Our guide Tom was extremely well trained and knowledgeable. He was excellent in spotting wildlife and finding opportunities for close photographs. There needs to be a better system to get in Amboseli National Park. The gate fee cannot be paid either in cash or credit card. I don’t know if you can at in advance and keep an electronic receipt. There is no wifi and cell coverage is poor at the Ambesoli park and this makes it very challenging to pay. Also our vehicle for the safari had a broken side door that they will need to fix as it kept getting stuck.

Food also very good, coupled with friendly staff. Proximity to a cement factory. Broken seats around pool and general tired look of all facilities.

- Tessa (9/5): Unforgettable experience with the most friendly staff - Highly recommend! We had such an amazing time at the Simba camp, a truly unforgettable experience. The staff was so warm and friendly, we immediately felt at home. We did two safari walks where we could almost touch the giraffes and zebras, had the chance to visit a real Masai village which was super impressive, went on a safari to Amboseli where we saw many animals, and learned how to play malanga. The food was fresh and tasty, and the camp was nice and green. Thank you Kwenia, Tom and Brian! We hope to come back soon! The only thing I could think of is that the transfer to and from Emali station was not very cheap for two persons, since you pay for the whole car ($60 round trip). However, we didn’t regret it for a second. So don’t let this hold you back

The safari to Amboseli National Park offered by the team was a spectacular experience that we only can recommend! The food served was delicious and there were plenty of vegetarian options upon request.

Brian’s cooking was phenomenal, Kwenia and Tom were great on walking safaris. Tom even took me across the border into Tanzania on my last day to continue on my journey. The location is serene and beautiful. Got to walk among giraffes and to learn a lot about tracks, plants and the Maasai culture. Absolutely nothing.

- Kiragu (8/5): Our stay was remarkable. I would not hesitate to recommend a stay at the camp. - We stayed us a family and enjoyed our stay. We were very well received on arrival. The buffet breakfast was well done, nicely served and had adequate variety especially considering the location in the wilderness. We enjoyed every bit. The other meals, Lunch and dinner were also well done and enjoyable. The packed lunch to the park was very good. Our driver to the park (Tom) was very good and knowledgeable and patient especially were the animals in the park we hidden. He helped us wait until six Lions moved passed right in front of our vehicle. A remarkable experience indeed. The borne fire at night served us well and especially the night where the service crew performed some dances. The chef needs to home his prowess on making Ugali.

- Anonymous (10/5): Genuine and charming experience of African nature and Maasai culture! - Fantastic staff, native Maasai who very generously shared their knowledge of nature and wildlife. We especially enjoyed the daily bush walks around the camp where we came close to native animals such as giraffes, zebras, deer and many beautiful birds. Wonderful! Good food in a nice homey setting with cosy bonfire under the great starry African sky afterwards. It is simple and rustic but comfortable with running water but not reliable hot showers. For us this was not a problem.

- Sharon (8/5): Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. - The food was fantastic. The staff were friendly and very helpful. It was exactly as advertised. We broke down for 4 hours on our trip to the park in the vehicle we rented from Simba Camp for the day. It was disappointing as we spent quite a bit of money to enter the park, and spent 1/2 the time in the park waiting for the vehicle to be repaired. Breakdowns happen, but it was still disappointing.
- Ian (10/5): I loved every moment in this rustic, relaxed informal camp which serves delicious food! - I loved Maasai Simba Lodge from the moment we arrived. The camp appears basic but it has everything you could want in a very relaxed, informal manner. The staff are really lovely and the food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) were all exceptional. There is a lovely cosy, fire-lit tented area which serves as a great place to relax, read and or play mancala with the local Maasai. The cloudless sky is amazing and the stars are a wonder. I have never seen a more awesome sky than during our visit. I must say a big special thank-you to Kwenia, a local Maasai man and our wildlife guide who took us on a walking safari in the mornings and evening. We were very lucky to watch bushbabies (galagos) by torchlight and observe Verreaux's eagle owls in the nearby trees, as well as walk alongside countless giraffes in the surrounding area. We also saw gerenuks, kori bustards and multiple other species on foot. This was a lovely place to stay and I only wish we had stayed there for longer. The only minor negative is the distance from Amboseli National Park (>1 hour drive from the Kimana gate).
- Wouter (10/5): Exceptional - Had a very nice stay at the camp, especially due to the staff genuinely interacting with us and answering all our (many) questions. When booking it’s more than just an hotel stay, you’ll have plenty of experiences and are part of the community for a few days. Truly unique experience. Food was also very nice; quite an accomplishment what the cook managed to make in that small kitchen. Don’t miss out on this one! don’t expect just a regular hotel, it’s about the Masai and bush experience you won’t easily find anywhere else! We have nothing we didn’t like.
- Philip (10/5): Great value, unique stay and activities - The staff were great, the property is comfortable, the food was good, the price is great, the cultural activities were unique It's a ways from Amboseli so the ride there for the full-day safari takes a little while (45m or so). The surrounding area is a little barren but there's still animals to see and the sunset is gorgeous

- Verified traveler (2/5): Waarschuwing - Volgens de website lijkt het maasai simba camp in het ambosselli park te liggen. Dat zou verklaren waarom het bedrag voor een verblijf zo hoog ligt. Dit is bedrog omdat het 60 km ten noorden daarvan ligt. We waren van plan om en in de veronderstelling in het ambosselli park te kunnen overnachten, maar dat bleek niet het geval. We hebben dan een middagsafari gedaan en zijn vervolgens zestig km noordwaarts getrokken. Daar aangekomen bekroop ons echter een zeer onaangenaam en onveilig gevoel. We hebben de accommodatie bekeken maar hebben het niet aangedurfd om daar te overnachten vanwege het hoge onveiligheidsgevoel. We hadden reeds vooraf betaald en hebben het bedrag niet teruggevraagd. vervolgens zijn we dan wel in het amboselli park gaan overnachten wat natuurlijk drie keer zoveel kostte.
