• Adriana (2/5): Pagan place, late breakfast, difficult to have shower - The property is very beautiful, clean, and quiet. It has a small place with sheeps and chickens, which was nice for the kids. The breakfast was very good quality. The property is a pagan place which loses the spirituality of visiting Fatima, a very important place for Catholics. They mentioned that they have an “Ermida” instead of a chapel because all religions are welcomed, which revealed their paganism. That’s definitely a criteria for us to not return there. It was very disappointing. The price for staying is very high and the services are not compatible with the price. The flux of warm water in the morning is extremely low, which makes very difficult to take shower. The breakfast starts late at 9am which is unacceptable. Additionally, the studio has steps in the middle of the room, making it an uncontrollable place to stay with our 1y old (we couldn’t let him free).

• Robert (8/5): Beyond Magnificent - After reading previous reviews, I felt that this would be a great choice. Upon arrival, we were captured by its beauty and charm. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The grounds are very well kept and beautiful. There is a private chapel that offers a quiet place to reflect and pray. Our breakfast was beyond wonderful. Every detail exceeded our desire. Truly magnificent. The pool was being repaired. I had hoped for a splash.

De sfeer is zo mooi dankzij een prachtige warme inrichting en het personeel is zooooo vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Extra wensen worden zeer gastvrij tegemoet gekomen. Het diner is goed verzorgd en smakelijk, maar zou iets verfijnder kunnen zijn. Maar dat heeft alles ook met verwachtingen van de gasten zelf te maken .

• Novin (7/5): A calm and interesting hotel but had a few issues. - We really liked Simone, one of the ladies that worked there. She was fluent in English, very friendly and kind. Always helpful. Swimming pool and the outdoor grounds were beautiful. Breakfast was very nice with fresh fruits and warm items. They offered eggs and omelets. Our room was not comfortable. Maybe it was the lowest category but I'm not sure as I used bookings. A platform bed in the middle of the room about 4-5 feet away from the sink and about 5-6 feet away from the toilet. Poor ventilation as there were hardly any good size openings to the outside. Although the room was very clean. I recommend selecting a bigger room or at least a room with larger windows. Their restaurant was not open the nights we were there. Being a few miles away from town, eating options were not comfortable. I recommend coming in with some snacks as eating options at this hotel are limited. We would've appreciated if the hotel would have informed us ahead of time. The day we checked in, we had to walk (25 minutes) to town looking for food! Finally, most of staff were pretty unfriendly (could be our language barrier which is fine!) but at least polite. But one of the ladies working there was quite aggressive and rude. One day we were told (by other staff) they had snacks being served at 2pm. When I got there, there was nothing but a bowl of cookies on the main table. Thinking this is part of the offering, I grabbed one small cookie (really just one)! As I was sitting and waiting for my husband, this lady showed up and screamed at me: 'did you take a cookie?' I said yes and she told me that these were being saved for new clients. I apologized and offered to pay and she said no and stormed out. This interaction was so unpleasant and really not necessary. In the hospitality business, staff needs to be better trained to at least not be rude! A little friendliness goes a long way when you're traveling thousands of miles from home. I'm sure better training (maybe have Simone work on training staff?) will fix this issue. You have a nice hotel, a few changes here and there will make a huge difference.

• Elizabeth (6/5): A touch of the Emperor's New Clothes - The location was perfect for where we were travelling on to. The breakfast was continental, (no cooked options) but with a wide variety of fresh and delicious food, lovely cereals, breads, pastries, fruits, delicious yoghurts and juices all beautifully prepared and presented. We were offered complimentary juice and a biscuit on arrival and received a personalised message in our room, which was a nice touch. The atmosphere was very quiet. I have thought a lot about this, because for some strange reason, I was not at peace here. To try to offer some constructive feedback, I think Luz Charming houses has not yet settled on its true identity. Outside reception is a charming old bicycle with dried flowers in the basket and inside reception a caged cockatiel. The houses are a curious mix of loft conversion ( stone, concrete and metal poles to hang clothes, mixed with cute alpine cottage and scandinavian minimalism. There are little wooden tags on everything and messages of how much it would cost if you decided to walk off with one or remove the pool basket. I can understand this, perhaps people do just walk off with more than the shampoo sometimes which would become costly. However, the complimentary tea and coffee in the room extended to 3 coffee pods, 2 fruit teas and no milk, this felt under generous. A bowl of fruit would have been a relatively inexpensive addition. The area outside was smaller than expected with a small dipping pool and strangely empty. In reception, there was an honesty book where you could record purchases of juice or tea and coffee, however there was no milk provided. There was a basket of very small boiled sweets on display, which we wrongly assumed were complimentary and having foolishly consumed two of them we were charged for these when we checked out. The overall impression is you 'can look but don't touch' because you will be charged. The overall vibe did not really invite you to really sit back and relax -perhaps we had become conscious of possible conditions attached and did not want to break the rules, the opposite of what is genuinely intended. Considering the high cost of the rooms, the overall impression was poor value for money, and so we are very unlikely to return.
