Guest Reviews
- Bernhard (10/5): - A perfect setting in Lofoten
- James (10/5): - A unique place in a unique part of the world.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Even paying 400euro per night is not enough to be allowed to use the Sauna.
- Kimberly (8/5): - Lovely, off the beaten path traditional fishing cottages in a remote area of Lofoten. Sadly, after having booked almost a year ahead of time, one of our (5) cottages was located quite far away from the others which was annoying. Staff tried to convince us that the far away cabin "was the best cabin" (maybe to make up for the distance?) but in actuality, it was the worst of all the 5 cabins.
- GRACE (10/5): - Unbeatable location and view. We had two bedrooms for three adults, the living room area was just beautiful facing the water.
- Edward (10/5): A great splurge - This is a very special place. The "village" is actually the cottages and associated restaurants etc. Nusfjord, the fjord, is tiny, isolated and intimate with huge rock walls. The property has done an excellent job in preserving the feel of the original fishing village. Lovely, well trained staff.
- Bryn (8/5): - The views are spectacular. The staff was very nice and the food is great, especially the breakfast. Unfortunately the cabins are dated, years in the furniture, missing utensils and no blackout curtains which made sleeping very hard during the midnight sun. Overall worth it for the location!
- Isidro (10/5): - This hotel is EXCELLENT!!! The room was great and has everything you need. Restaurant right there with good options and staff was friendly. Definitely would recommend and stay there when I come back.
- Silvio (10/5): Must Have in Lofoten - Location meravigliosa, il cottage assegnato in upgrade gratuito era molto bello e non mancava nulla, ottima pizzeria e colazione al ristorante. Personale molto cortese.
- Francois (10/5): - Amazing views, very nice cabins. Cabins include a fireplace but sadly enough no equipment to facilitate making use of it.
- Brandi (10/5): Stay here! - First off, what an incredible spot! The view from my oceanfront cabin was beyond spectacular. The food at both Karoline and the pizza place were beyond delicious! The scenery, service, and coziness were all amazing. I'm so glad I chose to stay here!
- Judy (10/5): - Beautiful property, wonderful room and view.
Loved the fireplace. Nice kitchen area, nice size, washer dryer.
My only problem was the bed was very soft, for me uncomfortable. The television didn’t work, was missing cable cord. Other than that 5 stars
The reception was great, staff was great.
I would absolutely stay there again, and recommend.
- Francisco (10/5): - Amazing experience. Beauty all around. Will do again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - very nice stay. Short distance to the airport. A good base in Lofoten. The only complaint i have is the mattress. It’s not supportive on my back.
- Ann (6/5): - The property lost power two nights of our stay and there was no communication from the staff as to what to do or when to expect power to return. No he’ll with lighting or heating options in very cold weather.
The lodging was very nice, clean and would have been comfortable with power available.
- Adrianne (10/5): - We LOVED our stay. We booked our cottage last minute while we were eating at the pizza restaurant in Nusfjord. We went to check in and they upgraded us to a bigger cabin for the night. It ended up being one of our favorite places we stayed. It was also so dark that we had a great view of the Aurora that night!
- Akanksha (10/5): - Absolutely beautiful location on the water with gorgeous mountain and water views. Parking is right by the cabin. Very clean and well equipped with cooking utensils and pans. If you’re not interested in using the kitchen, highly recommend Restaurant Karoline for an incredible meal. Would absolutely stay again.
- Jeffrey (10/5): - Magnificent setting and a perfect place for exploring and enjoying the Lofoten’s
- Pingyao (10/5): - Nice place to stay in lofoten
- Frederique (10/5): - Incredible spot. Must stay when in Lofoten!
- Maria de Lujan (6/5): Great spot. It could be amazing. - Two rooms. Room 10: great room, nice deck and amazing views but NO wifi. Room 8a: room no views at all, no deck, no updated but with wifi. The hotel consider both rooms equivalent but the rooms are completely different.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Kalastajakylä oli todella idyllinen, ravintola Lofoottien-reissumme ykkönen. Alueella on varmasti monen tasoisia mökkejä, mutta me otimme summissa edullisen perinne-rorbun, joka olikin aika eksoottinen kokemus. En suosittele mukavuudenhaluisille (kylppäri ulkorakennuksesessa, ruohokatto, parvisängyt katon rajassa, museomainen tuoksahdus). Elämys tämäkin.
- Hubert (10/5): - Heel mooie omgeving
- Alan (10/5): An authentic gem in Lofoten - Nusfjord is unique, charming and authentic. A definite worthwile stop on your exploration of Lofoten.
- Linda (10/5): - Beautiful View
- Christian (10/5): Great place to learn about local Lofoten history. - Staying at Nysfjord was a treat. All is very well taken caren of, the staff is really friendly and helpful, the food is excellent (we loved the pizza and breakfast), and the village is fun to explore and learn about. The rooms are super comfortable and have everything you need.
- Simen (8/5): - Fantastisk plass!
- Sophie (10/5): - Beautiful and warm cabin. Well located in the small amazing traditional Lofoten village
- David (10/5): - Beautiful view from the cottage. Well heated. Fast WiFi, No T.V. Good kitchen. Comfotable bed. Pictuesque as hell
- Jacopo (10/5): - Very hospitable and available, we wanted to arrange a late check in and early check out and they arranged for us to do everything online. Great breakfast too.
- Yuyan (10/5): - Best of best, bar breakfast service personnel are very nice!
- David (10/5): - Stunning location, lovely properties with a nice balance between keeping their old atmosphere and mod cons
- Poonam (10/5): - Beautiful views right on the fjord - the town is quaint - they don't allow cars in town itself so it's all walkable. The staff were kind. No laundry services if this matters to you The pizza place is divine - must go!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Trivelig - Trivelig plass
- Elena (10/5): - posizione meravigliosa, struttura molto bella
- Verified traveler (4/5): Economy cottage - We got economy cottage during our stay. I got shock when I saw the house and the room. The economy cottages are heritage bulding, no water and no toilet inside, no light other than the bed room. Four beds on the top accessed with ledders. One should be well prepared with what one is facing. The conditions of places were badly described in the announcement. I am happy I booked only one night. But if one wants to experience the real living conditions for fisherman in Lofoten it is really good place to go. The personnel were quite helpful any way.
- Allan (6/5): - It was simply too much money for a basic accommodation of this nature. No water in the house and 100 meters to the toilet. Should be half the price for this basic standard.
No había internet.
- Dennis (10/5): - The cottage had the BEST BEDS we've had in Norway. Comfortable mattresses, pillows, and comforters. No screens on the windows (which seems common in Norway, even with all of the mosquitos), but the mosquitos weren't too bad in Lofoten.
Fun little historic fishing village to explore.
- Mark (10/5): - Beautiful location with a small fishing village that had an art gallery, a couple of options for food and a country store. Staff were very kind and the lodging was clean and wonderful.
- Maria (10/5): - Property is beautiful and offers a unique experience in addition to delicious meals at Karolina and cafe
- Sabine (10/5): - Super Lage
- Corinne (10/5): Exceptionnel - Site magnifique.
- Elsa (10/5): Excellent cottage in an atmospheric village - We stayed here for the second time and it was exceptional as the first time. Such a beautiful little village and comfy cabin/room with a view over the sea and mountains. We warmly recommend this place for families and couples. Don't forget to visit the local bakery for a "skole bröd".
Svært lite utstyr i kjøkkenet.
- Håvard (10/5): - Nydelig plass. Flott atmosfære og god service. Et veldig godt utgangspunkt for gode opplevelser i Lofoten.
- Elsie (10/5): Nusfjord - a Gem - Wonderful little fishing Village tucked in a beautiful Fjord. The cabins were spacious and very well appointed. We had more than enough room for our trip. Food at Karoline Restaurant was outstanding
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a great get away spot to serve as a base for Lofoten adventures. We had a fishing cabin to ourselves in a quiet spot, but could wander in for great breakfast and dinners (not cheap though). You can’t get closer to the water without falling in. Well maintained cabins.
- Rick (10/5): Best place in Norway - Everything was perfect. Great place to stay quiet comfortable and very clean. Excellent small village to stay in with restaurants and bar.Would highly recommend this place. We stayed 2 nights should have stayed longer but will be back.
- AMEET (8/5): Nusfjord Lofoten cottages - Nice place. Initially the room offered was not upto our expectation but later the staff upgraded to a better room for additional cost.
Overall it was a very satisfying stay.
- Jane (4/5): Nusfjord cabin - The cabin was not as described. Our reservation confirmed we had booked a 1 bedroom cabin with an oceanfront. We didn't have an oceanfront view, although the fjord view was acceptable. The real problem was the sleeping arrangement which was loft accommodation up a steep wooden ladder with rungs. My partner has a leg injury so was unable to climb the ladder. We had a drag a mattress down and make the bed on the sofa in the living area. I went to reception to check that we had been given the correct accommodation, but was told that this happens with bookings through a booking agent and that they don't have the accommodation as described that we had been sold. I don't know whether this is the case, but would suggest that the safest way to be sure you know what you are going to get is to book direct with Nusfjord Arctic Resort. It was a shame because the cabin was lovely, apart from the loft sleeping.
- kara (10/5): Great stay! - Great stay!!! Beautiful cottage, We were initially in a cabin outside of the cottages, and the shower was a walk away, got upgraded to an amazing cabin close by.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Located in a picturesque spot. The cabin was perfect for our family of 3
- Sarah (8/5): Wonderful! - Absolutely stunning area, very friendly helpful staff, great little bar on site. Ridiculous hot tub/sauna view. Would go back in a heartbeat.
- Kathleen A (8/5): Charming and spacious cabin - The setting is beautiful and there are many of these cabins. The "comfort" cabin we rented was not represented in the photos so there were a few surprises when we arrived. One was that it appeared that you had to enter and exit through the main bedroom, a little awkward. It turned out there is another entrance but it is chained with a padlock on the outside so less convenient. The kitchen was adequately equipped and there is a coffee pot and electric kettle. Heating units are dangerous( the outer surface is as hot as a stove burner and is uncovered) and one of our group was badly burned walking past it, so caution to those with young children. Everything was very clean except for the shower threshold. Checking and checkout. Were very easy.
- Susan (8/5): Beautiful cabins in a stunning location - Gorgeous cabins in a beautiful location. Highly recommend. Only one draw back was that the place had recently been painted so there was a strong paint smell.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful cabin in a great little village - Fantastic cabin in an amazing little fishing village. The cabin has been stylishly renovated and provided a great place to stay. Windows were double glazed so that it blocked out most of the noise from birds and tourists. Our cabin did not have any cooking facilities so you'll need to eat at the restaurant. It's worth going out for a fish with Nusfjord Adventures - even if you don't like fishing it's only three hours and a bit of fun. We stayed for three nights and enjoyed exploring the area on foot, an easy drive to Reine and surrounds, and relaxing by the water with a drink. Found Nusfjord a far better place than Reine and other towns we visited.
- George (10/5): Fantastic view and nostalgia - The beauty of this place is its location and history. The cabin was very comfortable, roomy, and well-maintained. It was a real nice break from the usual hotel/motel stay in a historical town. There are a lot of tourists around during the day, but at night it gets nice and quiet.
- CJ (10/5): Lovely cosy cabin on the dock. - We booked a small cabin which was perfect for a couple. Warm with nice bed, sofa, nespresso machine and shower room. What more do you need? Restaurant and tavern high quality & good service.
- Jeffrey (10/5): Great cabins, great location - Great cabins, nicely done and modern (maybe a tad too modern?). Lots of storage and hanging hooks. Beautiful area, on a bay (fjord). Great location, easy to go South (Reine, A) in one day; or north up to about Svolvaer as a day trip. [Any farther north, I recommend a different place, as it's a lot of driving for one day up and back.] Restaurant and small store on-site; more restaurants and a large grocery store about 20 minutes away in Ramberg. We even managed to get a bit of WiFi in the room all the way from reception, but it's not guaranteed.
The only significant issue was that they shades don't block light very well. Given how far north this is, I was expecting full light blocking shades. They weren't. They were the cheap 1" metal blinds that let in lots of light: it never got dark in the room, making it hard to sleep. Shame.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nusfjord Rorbuer is an excellent place to stay in Lofoten. It is located close to many hiking and sight seeing opportunities. The staff is friendly and helpful!
- Verified traveler (8/5): Pricey, but ok for a night - Beautiful place nestled in the fjord. It was very peaceful and the place was very clean. As with most places in lofoten, there isn’t much food options. There is only one restaurant in the area. Overall a nice place to stay for a night but I wouldn’t stay more than a night as it is rather expensive considering what you get for the price.
- Zeb (10/5): - Amazing views, quiet location, great cabin. Fantastic.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Away from the World - I arrived toNusfjord Rorbuer before 6 PM and there were nobody at reception and I would say in the whole premises except for three fishermen that were cleaning up cods. Anyway I had contact before the hotel in case I arrived late in the night, since I had to travel by car from Evenes airport at which I arrived 1.30PM. They told me that I could find my Rorbuer's keys inside a green box at reception, and they were there along with all the necessary information. The Rorbuer was very well equipped. Anyway I missed a microwave. I did not have room service in all my stay, which I am not sure if it's already informed (I didn't know it). Also, I had not internet at my arrival, since it was out of order. Also I was requested to go to reception the next day between 10 and 15 hrs, which was a problem to me since I had plans for traveling around, and at that time I was away from the Rorbuer. Anyway the place is so gorgeous that Aires forgot all those annoying things. The premises are about 7 km away from the E10 main route. Everything worked very well in the cabin, that had a kitchen, a living area, a room separated and a bathroom with shower. I do recommend this place having into account that most probably you would have to serve yourself for everything and in the whole trip you won't see any person in charge.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice full kitchen. - Even though we had some difficulty to find the reception office in the heavy snow storm, we were able to contact the staff to lead us to our lovely cabin. The only complaint that I have is that Expedia did not post the hotel direct contact phone # and no one speak English in the phone posted. We had to ask local people to call and then lock up the hotel direct phone #.
We stayed x three nights and I cooked three dinners that saved us time and money. Meantime the weather was bad, very much driving was not a good idea at night with snow storm.
