Guest Reviews
- Mikko (6/5): - Walls were too thin . U can here all the noise. Too loud
- Signe (10/5): Very good - Very nice room, good beds, nice pool and staff.
- John (10/5): - All was good, pretty secure.
- Camper19661349851 (8/5): Nice place ✨ - Have some problem with TV remote control but no worry. Price is cheap and near the beach, just walk around 5 minutes. Staff very nice and they have a lot of recommend nice place for us. And take care us for everything. 🥰
P.S. Cat around the hotel are very cute 😭💖
- Hanniianniina (4/5): Untidy guesthouse - Wasn't happy with this guesthouse. I stayed three nights and there was no housekeeping at all, maybe you have to ask it from the reception. They didn't serve complimentary drinking water as well. There was a pee smell in the bathroom and shower area. Guesthouse is located on Chaweng's mainroad but there's a quite long walk from central area.
- Jemma (6/5): - The room was nice and as advertised however it was not cleaned once during our stay. The pool was not usable as it was thick green which was a big shame. The staff were friendly, you will need a ped to get to the main places such as central samui. No food services available and no hair dryer!
- Megan (8/5): - Good value for price. Similar to a university dorm room. Staff was very friendly. We stayed 2 nights. Close walking distance to amenities & beach. Nice pool. Very quiet.
- Sophie199399 (10/5): Great wee budget guesthouse - Overall I would say that this guesthouse is good value for money . Rooms cleaned daily , towels and sheets changed. Friendly staff and good location . Slightly off beaten track which you will appreciate later at night as the resort is like lively . Only criticism would be it's ready to update its bedroom furniture. No big point at all . If I was staying in ko samui on a budget again I would stay here again
- D9472ZHmaries (8/5): Does the job - Very basic room and bathroom but clean and comfy. Breakfast ok but not exceptional (french toasts, eggs, fruits, coffee/tea/juice). Nice location (nigh market nearby) and possibility to rent a motorbike, which was very convenient. Friendly staff.
- esp160 (4/5): Excellent location but otherwise not impressed - Location is excellent - quiet area away from the much busier main drag of Chaweng but still enough restaurants and other attractions to satisfy. Perhaps a 10 minute or less walk to the beach. Staff ranged from semi-amiable to downright miserable and unpleasant. Room was large and reminded me of very retro beach style (a good thing). Bed and pillows were absolutely disgusting with a variety of repulsive stains. The stains on one of the pillows made it obvious that someone had vomited while sleeping. Hotel unhelpful with booking tours, though plenty of free brochures and maps offered.
- TravelMonkey1993 (2/5): DO NOT STAY HERE - We had a very pleasant stay until they stole money from us out the reception safe. They told us not to keep in our room because of safety so we utilized the safe. Hmmm, big mistake. they stole $400 and we could do absolutely nothing about it. They suddenly could not speak English. I am telling you they were all in on it. Police could not do anything, and the cameras were suddenly not working. And on top of it we were accused of trying to con them. I have read similar views but did not take it seriously.. im telling you, take it seriously or it could really put a sour taste on your trip.
- 491raphaely (10/5): Peaceful and old school thai style - 4 years i come and the same friendly staff.
Probably one of the best place to stay in chaweng. Close to the beach in quiet street just on the chaweng road.
The rooms are very big with a king size bed with an old school thai decoration.
Not fancy place for sure but its very honest clean and comfortable if u are traveling on a budget ( room keeping every day and no insect inside ).
Dont change its good to have places like that even in koh samui
Thanks !
- nonil186 (2/5): THEIVES.. DO NOT TRUST THEM - The cleaner went into our room while we went out for the day and stole $4200 out of our locked bags! She went through all of our stuff when we tried to phone them they stated they could no longer speak English and haven't been contactable since even the police have tried and failed! DO NOT STAY HERE! The rooms are also filled with mozzies! Shame on you
- Sco666 (8/5): Does What it says on the tin - No frills. Cheap. About £16 per night. Decent sized room. Tv. Wireless broadband (though not great if too far from router at reception). Just off Chaweng Beach Road, though 5 mins from beach. Clean. Beds made & towels changed every day. Safe in reception (none in room). Laundry taken (ridiculously cheap).
Lady manager was lovely as were her staff. Free coffee with a smile in reception area every morning. 24hr concierge service. Heartily recommend it if you're on a budget or not.
- deannah1990 (8/5): Nice place - I stayed here for 5 nights whilst in koh samui, the rooms were clean and very spacious. I really liked the shower as it weren't your typical shower head over toilet. The tv had a few English channels on which came very handy as we were unfortunately there at the time of the floods. The only downside to this hotel was the wifi was very poor, you could only get a good signal in the reception lobby.
- marjetam2016 (2/5): BED BUGS in two rooms - We booked family room via Agoda for 12 nights. in June - July 2016.
When we came the manager was extremly polite. We got room with terrace across the reception.
I always check pillows on the bed so I did this in first hour after check in. During the checking pillows two bugs fell from pillow on bed. Bugs were really little and till now I never saw the bed bug in my life (we are travelling for 15 years two times per year) so I didnt know how they look.
I took the photo and the video and than I googled and found out that these are bed bugs. So we showed photo and video to the manager (she is not the owner). She kindly offer us other room and she apologized.
We took it and checked the bed and the room and it looked OK.
But unfortunatelly I was bitten from the bed bugs in this second room after 3 night. Thats why we moved and Agoda gave us the money back for the rest of the nights.
I have to say that the manager was really kind, helpful and it looked that she has no power to do more against "bed bugs" as she did. I think there is problem on owner side.
You also have to know that in the reception during the weekend helps one women and she is complete opposite from helpful manager, she is rude, unhelpful extremly ignorant. She is disaster!
I have to say that I was shocked and suprised that they just sprayed the bed (maybe they changed the sheets but I didnt see that). In the room there were a lot of textiles things, pillows for chairs, curtains.... I think you must do a little bit more than just spray a little bit.
- rjzmiller (8/5): Great budget hotel. Bargain. Biiiiiiiig bed. - This hotel is not in the dead center of Chaweng and is across the road from the beach which is why it is half the price, or less, than a hotel of similar standard in the center and/or on the beach front. So as long as you're not unbelievably lazy and can be bothered to walk 10 minutes to the beach it's a great budget choice. 500-600 baht a night depending on room size. Air con, hot water, fridge and decent size rooms. If you are incredibly lazy you can hire a motorbike from the hotel.
I've stayed here many times and will continue to. It's the best value for money hotel I've stayed in in Chaweng and I've stayed in a fair few. Often only for 1 night ;)
I've always found the staff to be very friendly, helpful and a laugh. The rooms are cleaned daily and thoroughly and they've always cleaned my room no matter what time I've finally got up and left it.
I personally think it's in a better location the central Chaweng hotels. There are better restaurants at this end and the night food market. Plenty of shops, convenience stores and bars around. There also seems to be better looking women on this end of the beach.
The nightlife is up the other end of town which is 100 baht (max) on a taxi bike or about a 20 minute walk. Conveniently about the same amount of time it takes to drink a large chang. Perfect!
- 359laurentc (8/5): Not on the beach but nice... - This guesthouse is not on the beach but still well located... 5 minutes walk form the beach and from the restaurants and bars...
The room are cleaned with air conditionning and the people is kind and always ready to help..
With regards to the price 600 Baths per nice... i think it is a good price/quality ratio for Ko Samui...
- KarenVas (8/5): Good service and Price - This place was well located and it was a really good price. The room was big and clean, the washroom was clean and spacious. We did not have a resrvation and they were very accommodating and friendly. You can walk to the main beach, less than 10 min from here and there are lots of restaurants and a night market near this guest house. They also rent motorbikes which is very convenient.
- Bykovorama (6/5): Old chap - We stayed for a night paid 1200 Bath in a old smelly room facing parking. I stayed here before 6 years ago and unfortunately saw no improvement . The good think about the place it's not far from Central Festival, but to get to the sea you have to cross a road and another hotel's territory.Beach front hotels are overpriced , so may be it's a good choise. We checked Lamai beach and Mae Nam, same expensive story. ANd rememeber January is a rainy season, but who cares. Massage and food is cheaper though, cooking class is cheaper than on Phuket frm where we traveled from.
Samui is a very homey place anyway, enjoy it!
Awfully slow wi-fi.
- sarahlucywalker (8/5): Budget option in peaceful end of Chaweng - Stayed here for five nights. 450bht per night for large fan room with tv and hot water which we thougt was a bargain.
5 mins from beach and night food market, down quiet street.
Room had small leak in heavy rain, no restaurant.
Reception stuff a bit grumpy, but thought overall a bargain for location and facilities.
Reception staff a not grumpy,
- Natalie1267 (8/5): Very pleased with my stay! - I had booked this accommodation because a friend had previously stayed there and had no problems, after booking I read reviews and one came up saying they had their money stolen from their room, I was a bit scared about the safety of this accommodation before arriving and was very cautious of taking my valuables with me everywhere I went, but I honestly think that everything was fine- room was very big and was cleaned every day, showers worked fine, free water replaced every day, 5 minute walk from the beach and shopping, for the price this place was perfect for my two friends and I. The only thing is if you are thinking of staying here it is a 20 minute walk along the beach to any night life, 10 minute car journey if you dont mind paying for a taxi- but if you are in koh samui on a budget and not too fussed about being in the centre of the night life then this is the place to be.
- siirit2014 (2/5): Money got stolen from the room!! - Attention travellers!!! Me and my boyfriend stayed in P.Chaweng Guesthouse for 10 days and on the last day, after we came back from breakfast, we discovered our money was stolen from the room. All the rooms have signs on the doors that say "Guesthouse will not be held responsible for the valuables left in the room". They have some kind of safety box in the reception where we always kept our computers and travel documents but big amount of money we HID in the room. I know it may sound a little crazy but in a Thailand it's better to trust no-one but yourself! After we discovered the money was missing we reported it in the reception. The lady there immediately started protecting the cleaner who cleaned our room that day. Then we went to police (but there was not much they could do, the only thing they said was that this guesthouse is not safe and we should move asap!!!). Then I asked to see the video recordings and surprise, surprise there was no recording from last three days! We even looked in the main garbage bag (because the money was hidden in the bathroom and we thought it maybe fell in the bin) and while we went through the rubbish the housekeeper stood there and chatted and laughed with a friend (?!?!). Our stay there was OK until that moment...we rented their scooters, used the laundry service and everything seemed good but how little did I know! Everything works for their convenience: the sign that says they are not responsible for anything kept in the room (but they have housekeeping service going in your room daily) and no video recordings from last 3 days when it happened. The cherry on top was that the receptionist was so rude and arrogant with the whole situation and the staff acted like nothing ever happened. Please be careful in P. Chaweng guesthouse.
- Siobhonegan (8/5): Great value - We stayed here for 4 nights in February and stay was very pleasant. We rocked up late in the arvo and they could accommodate us right away. We opted for a cheaper room which meant no mine fridge however room had nice hot water shower, air con and tv. Rooms are made up daily which is great and staff are really helpful. It's a little bit more of a walk from the main strip and beach than other hotels/guest houses however still an easy walk.
Beds were very clean and beds were super comfy!
Would recommend for backpackers or those wanting somewhere good on a budget!
