Guest Reviews
- JOSE CARLOS (6/5): - Muy bien !!!
- lupe (10/5): - Safe clean beautiful
- Rudy (10/5): - Reasonable Price great stay
- Ana Cecilia (8/5): - The building it self
- Esme (10/5): - Excelente
- Marco Antonio (10/5): - Excelente servicio
- Jairo (10/5): - Super céntrico execelente ubicación
- Erika (8/5): - Great location within walking distance to all the shopping at El Centro. Centric for transportation. The hotel has a charm to it due to its age but it also lacks some of the modern amenities I expected.
- Leeann (10/5): - Staff had minimal/no English and I can peck at words in Spanish so for the most part could make it work. They tried their very best with a smile.
Very good coffee shop, I’m sorry I forget his name but he did speak English and was very helpful.
In little convenience store you could get cold drinks,Chips etc. also order breakfast. It was very good
We liked our room. The shower was very weak and just warm. Not good if you have long hair.
- DOUGLAS (8/5): - Central location. Water pressure in shower very weak. Toilet stopped working; fortunately it was my last morning at the hotel. Breakfast was good. Wifi good.
- Peter (8/5): - Character, hacienda style hotel. Older building so limited electrical plug-ins in rooms. Great location near Cathedral.
- Arturo (2/5): - Property needs upgrades!
- José Ramón (10/5): - J
- Gerardo (10/5): - Everything is good 👍
- Laura Trujillo (2/5): - EL HOTEL ES ANTIGUO PERO NO POR ESO DEBE TENER CUCARACHAS, PEDÍ ME CAMBIARAN DE CUARO Y PASÓ LO MISMO, Y MIS FAMILIARES EN SU HABITACIÓN ENCONTRARON LO MISMO.
- JUAN (10/5): - We love Hotel La Rotonda it’s very convenient to walk around to the centro and other many shopping centers.
Staff is always very nice they also have really good breakfast in there little store.
- Tracy (8/5): - Terrible, hard, uncomfortable bed. No A/C. Lots of street noise. No hot water and terrible water pressure. Hotel is only decent due to location and price.
- Luis (8/5): - .
- Sergio (8/5): - I really love the food of the restaurant, and I don't like the tv signal
- Jorge Alejandro Rosales (6/5): - Bien
- Gricelda (10/5): - Great location, near many fascinating areas to see and visit. Center of the historic district. Clean, nice staff. Felt safe and secure.
- Gricelda (10/5): - Perfect location, near many things to see, clean hotel. Friendly staff. Loved it.
- Sandra (6/5): - The hotel looks nice from outside and also the patio in the middle woth the restaurant looks nice. But room was horrible. We found insects.
- rafael (4/5): - Due to their negligence they ruin my medicine because they dont have a refrigerator in the room and the people in the front desk treated me very poorly as if i owed them something.
- Julian (10/5): - Super friendly staff at all times of day and night!
(Sorry I had to leave at 4 AM)
- Rick (4/5): - Good - Property was 1.5 blocks from Cathedral. Internet was fast
Not good. - Warm (not hot) water from shower
bathroom is OLD and dated.
Bed could be more comfortable (I could feel the springs)
No hair dryer/iron
for the price not at all a value.
- JUAN (10/5): - Amazing staff
- George (2/5): - No air-conditioning no TV working no water heater
- susana (2/5): - Disappointed, had to relocate, no A/C- no hot water , lighting was very dim. No towels
- Patricia (6/5): - The building is beautiful but it needs to be taken care broken floors the bathroom and the furniture very outdated. The service was ok. The room needs air conditioner when it get hot the fan does help
- PORFIRIO (10/5): - Close to downtown
- SILVIA (6/5): - IT NEEDS SOME RENOVATIONS. OLD TV, NOT FLAT SCREEN. BED IS NOT THAT CONFORTABLE. THEY NEED TO INVEST IN BETTER AMENNITIES TO COMPETE WITH OTHER REALLY GOOD HOTELS IN THE AREA THAT HAVE SIMILAR RATE PER NIGHT. STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY AND LOCATION IS GREAT.
- Juan (8/5): - The hotel is very clean and walking distance from the historic center. There is no hotel parking though and you need to walk about ten minutes to the nearest parking lot. Also, the toilet from our room was leaking water and the shower head through water everywhere. But for one night stay is not bad.
- Francisco (8/5): - I loved the location I have stayed there years past I know the pandemic and all but I felt it was a little Run down but I still enjoy my stay the staff very friendly and lovely enjoyed my stay never felt threatened in any way I love Guadalajara I will stay there again and recommend it it is a hotel I slept comfortable and my stuff was safe when I went on my tours I give it a 7 in my book .
- Suzanne (8/5): - We stayed one night at La Rotunda. The staff are very friendly and always available. Loved the windows that open to a balcony overlooking the street. The room was very clean. The hotel has water dispensers available for refilling your water bottle. The towels are very nice. The hotel is right downtown so you do get noise from the street but with the windows closed it helped the celebrations outside. That’s the trade off for being steps from historic downtown.
- irineo (10/5): - It was nice everything was clean the people friendly there was a good food but they need better 🛌 and pillows
- Saul (10/5): - Very friendly staff, safe free parking 1 block away, really good location
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I like that they lock the door at night time and only let the people that stay there in.
And i forgot inportant papers their and they found them and call me right away to let me know.and they save them till my friend pick them up.and they call me to see if he was the person to pick them up and ask he to i.d. before giving it to my friend.I like that very much.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room was very dark and small. No hand towels, and bath towels were too old and raggady.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great cuatomer service.
- PATRICIA (6/5): - No A/C and the bed was with some spots, great location
- Deborah (8/5): - Great old building with a lot of character and situated right in the best part of the city.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel was really cute and clean but there was no hot water. We called 2 times and the first time we were told to let the water run until the hot water came out. We run it for almost 20 minutes and nothing. We called again we were told that no one else has complained about the water. Called again and were told someone was gonna come and take a look which never happened. So we showered with cold water!!! Other than that everything else was good. It’s a beautiful hotel.
- Kristina (10/5): - Great place with awesome staff! The staff went about and beyond to look out for our safety and take of our luggage when we needed to check out late.
- Mary (8/5): - We like that the property was in the center of town close to many plazas & shopping. It was rustic antique decor . The bathroom needed updating there was mold around the sink .
- JoseGarcia (10/5): - This place is clean and Beautiful good for a romantic night and has a great view of the Plaza id definetly stay again
- Omar (4/5): - Don’t like the place and I Won’t book again in this place
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I like everything and is in downtown close to everything
Nice to be there
- Shasha (8/5): - Very close to all the tourist areas in downtown..colonial style property ..but no air conditioning or elevator makes it a bit.uncomfortable
- Nancy (6/5): - Very nice, but no air conditioning. Close to a lot of interests and seems like a very safe neighborhood.
- Edward (4/5): - The first day I checked the sheets and discovered that bottom sheet had urine stains, The shower and pipe were rusted. I found bugs on the floor. I had to ask for toilet paper and the room smelled musty.
The food was great and employees were friendly and willing to help
- Alex (10/5): - A 200 + yr old hotel in very good shape. Nice service anf staff.
- Richard (2/5): Dirty, Smelly, No WiFi, No Hot Water - I'm not sure how this hotel has such high reviews, except for it's great location. I stayed 2 nights. The wifi didn't work the entire time. My room was disgusting...dirty and hot. The worst part was that there was no hot water. I travel to Mexico and Central America every two months and I never stay in top star hotels. I'm used to staying in posadas and small hotels. This was the worst one I've stayed at on years.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent location to the Cathederal. Secure parking very close by.
- Julio (10/5): AWESOME - It was amazing , Location is great , Clean and friendly staff.
- Elena (6/5): - I’ve stayed here with no problems but this time we had a couple of issues. Water was cold, and twice in our stay we were left without running water. Other than that the location is great, love the structure and the friendly staff.
- Vick (8/5): - Exelent location close to historic Downtown Guadalajara, good experience in general exept, lack of hot water early in the morning.
- Tree (8/5): - Ask for a room that isn't directly above the street.....ie. don't check in at 11pm! I had three nights paid so the second morning they happily changed me to a quiet room in the back. No A/C but two fans in the rooms and screened windows that help. It is in a PERFECT location for downtown activies. Walking distance for many attractions.
- ana (10/5): Pillows and Mattress & bathroom - Hard mattress, hard pillows and shower had a few hairs.
I would suggest have two soft pillows and two hard pillows.
Mattress was too hard.
I felt safe and staff was very friendly and polite
Location is a very safe area for any tourist. You can walk to restaurants and downtown, Cathedral etc.
- willie (8/5): Nice hotel close to centro histórico - Very good location, cheap and good service, close to the centro histórico and close to the city tour bus.
- Julio (8/5): - Nice hotel but lacked hot water especially in the early morning
- cristopher (10/5): Good place to stay - It is a simple hotel, friendly staff, the place is clean if it was remodeled it would be so much better, affordable and good relation between price and quality.
- Angelica (6/5): Nice hotel in the heart of downtown.. - My only two problems were the hard mattresses And he climate. I traveled in December it was warm and no a/c in rooms. Overall a good value for your money. I’ll select a hotel with a/c next time
- Dolores (8/5): Historic Guadalajara - We enjoyed our stay at hotel, great location n service. The only downer was that we had big heavy bags and there was no elevator. Loved it overall
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Was given a room that was too hot and the ventilation was very poor.
- Gaby (8/5): Nice hotel in downtown, excellent location - Hotel is in excellent location, you can walk in downtown or if you have to go somewhere, it is in the middle of the city
- Victor (10/5): Very close to everything that I visted - Very satisfied, all the time I stayed at the hotel,
Very friendly crew, definitely I will comeback.
- Armando (10/5): - It is almost in the Center and the historic environment. I liked it so much
- Verified traveler (4/5): No Air-Con - This hotel location is superb but the room is without air-con.
- Q (10/5): Great hotel downtown Guadalajara - Not necessary, but could use A/C during hot days.
Great people working for the hotel
- Gail (6/5): Bones of a Beautiful Dowager Needing an Update - We, my husband, mother-in-law and I, stayed here for two nights. We chose this hotel because my mother-in-law had stayed in it almost twenty years ago, and this was a trip we made for her.
The hotel's location could not be better for visiting the colonial centre of Guadalajara; a short walk to Teatro DeGallado, the cathedral, the five plazas and most of the other 'buildings' on a must-see list. There are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops nearby, as well as shopping.
The staff was very welcoming, but spoke very little English. The busboy helped unload our car and then went in the car with my husband to show him the free parking about a block away. The wait staff were always very friendly and service in the restaurant was good. Everyone, even the maids we met in the corridors, was friendly with smiles and greetings.
The hotel would have been stunning about forty years ago; the rooms are grouped around small open areas often with chairs for those wanting to sit there. That also allowed for a more light and airy feeling. The rooms we had were large enough for a king sized bed, a desk, a closet and a chair; the bathrooms were large and spacious. The beds were comfortable if you like a firm bed; the bedding was adequate (we were there in the 'winter' and evenings can be cold) although we found the pillows too hard for our liking. The two eating areas are spacious with small tables and, in one case, umbrellas for an outdoor atmosphere.
- Madeleine (10/5): Loved it! - The staff at Hotel La Rotonda was incredible, my boyfriend and I spoke very limited Spanish, and they still worked with us to answer our questions and help us out when needed. The hotel itself was also gorgeous, taking a walking tour of the entire place is a must before you check out!
- Rhiannon (8/5): A+ Front Desk & Location, B Rooms, C- Food. - The front desk staff was so gracious! They let us check in early and watched our bags for us as we took in the sights. There were many stairs and uneven steps which is to be expected but might not go over well with visitors with mobility issues. The room was comfortable but not fancy and although the wifi had a hard time making it through those old stone walls, even in the most remote room, sound traveled so much it made me glad I had my earplugs. The mattress was very hard since that tends to be the preference here in Mexico. I loved it but my partner did not. The decor, including the Maya and Aztec murals in the courtyard were gorgeous but the food and the waitress were surprisingly disappointing. The waitress sloshed every drink she brought to our table and our food (garlic soup, tortilla soup, enchiladas verdes, huevos rancheros) were almost completely flavorless. If that's what they give to Mexicanos who can presumably handle big flavors, I wonder what they give to international guests.
- Jean (6/5): Good location and price - this little hotel is in a great location in historic district. The decor is charming and staff are friendly. My only complaint is the beds are hard and you can feel all the springs. I would not return because it was painful to sleep at night.
- Gregory (8/5): As good of location as possible. - A nice little beach town.
- Alli (10/5): Old town hotel close to Centro Historico - Hotel Redonda is in an ideal location for walking about and getting familiar with Guadalajara. The hotel serves and excellent buffet breakfast. Staff were friendly and helpful.
- Jason (6/5): AMAZING location, incredible price, terrible beds! - We were skeptical because the price was so low but we were pleasantly surprised. It's a gorgeous old building with a fully functional restaurant inside. Several rooms-some with balconies. We initially statues in an interior room with a window that opened to the restaurant in the center of the hotel. It was very quiet and quite nice but we wanted a balcony so after a few nights we asked to see some other rooms and they showed us two rooms with balconies. We switched to one of those rooms and it was nice to have the balcony but we didn't realize that being right on the street was going to invite so much vehicle noise. It was really quite shocking. We could have switched back but, with the use of some ear plugs, we were able to deal with it. The noise was basically from 6 AM to 11 PM when the big busses and heavy traffic was running. When we were able to sleep from 11 to 6 it was fine. The only real downsides to this place are: no wifi (though there is a Starbucks with free wifi down the street), no AC (but we didn't need it during this stay-the weather was perfect) and, most painfully, the beds were as hard as any bed I've ever had the displeasure of sleeping on. I mean-really, REALLY HARD. I wouldn't stay there again only because of the beds being soooo hard. And it was the same way in both of the rooms we stayed in. If they got new beds, AC and wifi they could triple the price and it would still be a steal!
- M (8/5): Great Hotel downtown - This hotel is cheap, clean and the staff members were very friendly. It is located near several popular spots.
- Joy (8/5): A Hotel with Character and Cleanliness - The hotel has a lot of character. The staff is amazing and very helpful. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast in the lobby was delicious. Their coffee is good. There are not any extras, but the hotel feels like a nice hotel from the 1930s and 1940s. My 84-year-old mother and teenage daughter felt safe and enjoyed the ambience. I would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - overall, TERRIBLE!!! will not coming back, or recommended.
- James (8/5): Great location in the middle of historical center - Hotel La Rotonda has a favorable location, just north of many of the great plazas in the old historical center of Guadalajara.
The staff were very welcoming and accommodating at all times.
It doesn't have a true lobby per se but more like a vestibule. The restaurant area is an alternative sitting area.
It almost feel more like an inn, or pousada from another time. It was certainly peaceful. My room did not have AC but in Guadalajara I didn't really need it even in August.
In any case it was a great value for the price at the time.
- Julian (4/5): No air condition the heat is unbearable - My stay in Hotel La Rotonda was not good at all, there is no air conconditioner anda the heat was claustrophobic. The location is good and the hotel looks nice, but i couldn't sleep even with two fans on.
- RAMSES (10/5): The best! - This has been by far the best hotel I've stayed at while my travels to Guadalajara! The staff was extremely nice and supportive with all my needs.
The room is very clean and the bed was comfortable! I stayed on the second floor. My bathroom had 20ft ceilings and a sky light up above, that brought in nice light into the bathroom. The bedroom setup is nice. You are greeted by a couple of (towel) swans on your bed. All rooms have 4 windows and 2 fans for Your comfort. The location is the best feature to this hotel. It is a few steps from La Rotonda Plaza and about a couple hundred feet from the Cathedral. Location could not be any better! I truly recommend this hotel.
