Guest Reviews
- Randell (8/5): - Breakfast was skimpy
- Radley (10/5): -
- Naivene (1/5): DONT STAY HERE. - The Hitel was falling apart. The only reason we stayed was because it was after midnight and we were exhausted.
I've complained to both Booking and the Howard Johson. NO ONE HAS BOTHERED YO CONTACT ME.
- Delossantos (6/5): Considering the area it’s not a bad place to stay for a night. - Breakfast was almost gone when I got there, luckily theres a couple of sausages left and some potatoes. The young lady made fresh coffee though. The evening clerk was not very helpful and had a little attitude. When you’ve been on the road for almost all day a little nice attitude from staff would be nice. She wasn’t very clear when I asked about where to get some good eats.
- Marcia (10/5): - Friendly, helpful staff
- Emilio V (9/5): -
- chance (10/5): -
- Dean (7/5): Average, staff great, room not up to standards - The Staff was very accommodating to our needs, the manager on day shift was very respective and very helpful when we needed some repairs in our bathroom to unclog the sink. The breakfast was very good and always ready in the morning. The manager was there to set it up and and assist you in getting your coffee while you were getting your brekfast. This was a very nice jester by him and the cleaning ladies were very nice and helpful. The room just was not up to par. Bathroom remodel didn't give it that clean look. Room didn't have a chair to sit in. Was not up to par.
- Patrice (4/5): Wyndham properties have dropped to such low quality that they should be listed as 2 star. - The bed was very comfortable. The property, while being old, could have been more updated. Showering was a frightening experience, as the tub had no texture, was VERY slippery & NOTHING, not even a soap shelf to hold on to. I am elderly & was very afraid of falling so only showered once in my 3 night stay. Breakfast, scrambled eggs were dry & tasteless. No fruit.
I'm very disappointed in Wyndham properties. The light coming in all around the door was concerning. I imagine in winter, cold air would be pouring in. I won't be choosing one of them again.
I got home to find an additional $117 charge to my account. Manager is working to discover why.
- phyllis (3/5): The worst motel we stayed at. - The motel was close to the school. The first room given, the bathtub was rusted and water ran, faucet was broken. The second room given, there was construction the two days we were there, we told front desk, they said they were sorry, these rooms should not be rented, due to construction almost in every room. The ice machine was broken.
- Jentink (6/5): - Very friendly staff, new AC / heating units in room, lots of hot water for showers, nice big television set. Clean bedding, very nice free breakfast with scrambled eggs waffles sausage cereal, coffee maker in room. Bathroom was probably from the '70s, bathtub all stained from dripping faucet, flooring very old and dirty, way too many coats of paint on the walls and trim. Only one chair in the room, where does the other person sit when watching TV? To get to the ice machine you had to walk across a laundry room that is being remodeled but water on the floor very dirty. Empty Kleenex box, no cream or sugar for coffee maker, sheets were clean but very old with pills.
- Dawn (8/5): Pleasant - Clean
- Anna (10/5): We will return. - This is a great place to stay when traveling from Southern Colorado toward Arizona. A good mid point away for larger cities. Breakfast is great; eggs, sausages; bagels, waffles, juice, coffee, etc We make a point of staying here each time. Everything was fine for our 1 night stay.
- 478pattir (2/5): Don't spend your money here! - Don't let the word Wyndam or Howard Johnsons name fool you like it did us. Both of those names meant "class" in the past. Now they mean "dump". If there were a headquarters I would be writing them. If I were Wyndam I wouldn't want my name on this propertyThe first room they gave us had a water leak around the base of the toilet. The 2nd room #105, the bathroom counter was screwed together, stains in the bathtub, no water coming out the tub faucet because the diverted was broken. It only came out the shower head itself with very difficult adjusting, shower ceiling was sagging from water damage up above, caulking around tub in and out looked like a child did it, dirty and smeared everywhere, floor boards were not matched and had gaps between. The mattress was saggy. The heater blew cold air on one side and warm on the other. The only good thing about this place was the
- Dawn (10/5): Staff was friendly and helpful. Enjoyable - Clean A little noisy
- David (7/5): -
- Manuel (10/5): -
- Andrea (8/5): -
- Kevin (7/5): - It was a good “value” motel. Pretty dated.
- Grace (1/5): I slept in my car - Nothing The bed had bed bugs. The bathroom was completely disgusting.
- Luis (8/5): -
- Miranda (10/5): - Well lighted. Good parking. Bed comfy. It was warm and inviting. Colorful. It was worth the stay then the other one we had stayed at. Floors were carpeted not sticky. Not Bates motel vibe. Definitely will stay here when we come back to visit. No complaints. Just the shower was rusted.
- Lloyd (5/5): Room was fine but nothing worthwhile for breakfast - The outside was appealing The breakfast was close to nonexistent
- Shawn (8/5): -
- Carrie (3/5): - Front desk girl pleasant Bathtub jets rusted and made me feel uncomfortable to take a bath. I really wanted to take a bath with the jets on. Also we were only given 2 large towels and the were small and thin. Wall paper border was torn in a few areas that was unpleasant to the eye.
- Richard (10/5): - Staff was courteous and friendly. Was disappointed that my stay was not classified as a Wyndham member as I have been a member for some time.
- Melinda (4/5): Very disappointing and not clean. - Friendly night staff. The dirty room, dirty microwave, dirty towels, dirty shower, FILTHY carpet, bathroom exhaust had dust caked over it, dirty sheets, "free breakfast" was cereal, bagels, sausage, and potatoes. No eggs or bacon. Bagel was stale. "Orange juice" was Tang and gross. Waffle maker wasn't out of service.
- Arguellez (8/5): -
- jeffjS2258VZ (2/5): Worst Hotel I have ever stayed at period. - This hotel has got to be the worst hotel I have stayed at. I travel a lot and thought ok this is a Wyndham hotel how bad could it be, right? Not so much at all. I was suppose to get a handicapped room. Other than the shower being equipped with my handicap needs that was all. The door did not work properly when key was inserted. Try getting in the front door with a wheelchair I dare you. No room to move around at all with a wheelchair. TV remote could not be found. Called the from desk and they wanted to know the brand name of the TV in that room, really? I told them and they had to take one from another room. Please don't get me started on their so called breakfast. No eggs and the sausage looked like it was cooked two weeks ago. Coffee was just so, so. I will now make sure I never stay at a Howard Johnson by Wyndham again, EVER.
- MARIANNE (7/5): Onvoldoende! - Ontbijt onvoldoende! Gn yoghurt, gn fruit, slappe koffie. Service a het obtbijt
- Noelgary (6/5): So much potential with a great deal of updating needed - This motel has so much promise but needs to deliver more..it looks like it is in the earliest stages of being upgraded. Where should we start. The good part is that the staff are pleasant and helpful. However the updates. Starting with the bathroom. Rust and discoloured tub. Where is the hair dryer? Where is the iron and ironing board? Looks like they were removed but the brackets remain. Needs new carpeting in the room and firmer beds. Outside the stairs definitely need recovering. Now Breakfast. Decent , but the cappuccino and the waffle machines were both marked as out of order. Just so much updating needed to bring it up to a fair standard…
- Stephanie (8/5): - Upkeep needed
- Angela (8/5): - Bath tub had stains and rust. Very disgusting
- Kristi (4/5): - The positive is the bedding was clean. The negatives - run down, water stained shower and sink. Bathroom door wouldn't close, GFI outlets didn't work. Grime in the corners of the floor. Room key access was faulty. Ice machine out of order. Pleasant staff was a real plus!
- Robert (2/5): - breakfast: cold eggs, kid's only cereals, even the foil katsup packets were stuck together. the bath sink took 5 seconds to fill a drink cup. the shower was powerful, but the drain was defective, so you had 3in. of water in the tub with you before you finished.
take your money someplace else; any place else
- Linda (2/5): - TV didn’t work. No shower curtain on handicapp shower stall and water was all over the bathroom making the floor dangerously slippery. Not impressed with night clerk. Breakfast was just ok…
- Herbert (4/5): - The Room was old. Paint was discollered furniture drawers stuck, shower leaked, sink leaked lighting was low. Beds were OK but quilt quilt was stained. The breakfast had minimal options. The staff was very friendly and helpfull but could nt resolve all the issues with the room. They say redecoration at the motel was ongoing and we had one of the old rooms.
- Mona (1/5): - Staff was friendly. Was not very clean. There were loose pieces of pizza from the previous occupant in the fridge. No stopper in the sink. The outlets had covers so I could not plug in my phone charger. The entire place is run down.
- Christina (10/5): -
- Michael (7/5): -
- John (10/5): - Good value, friendly staff, plenty of parking, close to restaurants, good center for day trips
- Carpenter (5/5): -
- Levi (10/5): - Great for families or small groups!
- Maldonado (8/5): -
- Diane (4/5): - Besides the front desk girl being sweet & helpful, this property is old and very tired for the expense! I wouldn’t walk barefoot on the carpet due to stains and wear. The toilet seat was very small and squishy which was a huge turn-off for me and I’m small, can’t imagine a large person dealing with it. Felt unsanitary and after a full day of driving we were very disappointed.
- Edgar (2/5): - It was disgusting, the floors and blackened soot. I will never stay at this location again! And will be asking for a full refund and giving my videos to the health department department!
- Judith (2/5): I would not recommend staying here. - One of the staff that I met was kind and accommodating. The room smelled overwhelming of an unpleasant, cheap cleaning product—however the room was not spotless. The trash on the walkway/balcony from the day before was not cleaned up over the 2-night stay. The fees for a pet were more than what the website said ($25 per night instead of $15 per night). The checkin staff said there was no way of adjusting that. The checkin email from the hotel said no pets were allowed and the hotel did not answer my phonecalls or messages through Booking.com so when I arrived with my pet, I was not sure I would be en be able to stay there.
- Craig (6/5): - Dirty carpet, had to request paper products. Room was ready but had to pay an early check in fee 1 hour before established check in time !!
- Gini (9/5): Much to bright - Juanita at the desk was amazing. Couldn't sleep because the parking lot lights were way to bright and the curtains suck at covering the windows properly. You need wooden valances and longer darker curtains.
- Joe (4/5): I would not stay here again and would not recommend this place. - The room was old and the shower old with mold. The breakfast was also skimpy. Also I tried calling this motel numerous times at different times and no one answers the phone.
- Dennis L (10/5): - Needed a room in springerville and this was one we were familiar with and across the street from a restaurant.
- Tim (2/5): -
- Cynthia (1/5): Awful - Nothing The room was dirty. The carpet was stained in many places
The 60's wallpaper strips were peeling. The equally old linoleum in the bathroom was stained and dirty. There were dead bugs under the sink. The plugs were so old they no longer held the plug unless you spread the prongs...which they did, but I was not willing to do that with my plugs. It obviously has not been remodeled since it was built. They advertised breakfast...the first morning there were no eggs or sausage, no bread, the capichino machine was broken. No juice just an orange drink. No pastries even though the said there were supposed to be. The second day again no bread no capichino machine no milk for the cereal no pastries. The 3rd day still no bread or capichino or pastries. I have never stayed in a booking.com room that was so nasty. It it really odd that their reviews were so good on your site. See pictures
- Pennie (6/5): So so - It needs insulation around the door to keep cool air in the room. They need more parking where you go to rooms. Sink was clogged. So so
- mhoranburg (9/5): -
- jerzeyjoyce (6/5): Very laid back weekend with nothing to do. - Musty smell in the room, only a small desk lamp with a burned out bulb and wall light near the extremely small bathroom. Room was quite dark without the TV on! Towels were not at all absorbent, after washing/drying hands, the hand towel was quite wet for the rest of the day; the bath towel was smaller than a usual size and was not absorbent either. After getting a shower and hanging the towel over the curtain rod, it was still quite damp the next morning!
First morning breakfast was the usual coffee/tea/hot chocolate and orange/fruit jug juice (Sunny D), bacon, potatoes, dry cereal, snack cakes, bagels and make your own waffles but no syrup. Next morning still no syrup, ran out of waffle mix and no juice at all but had scrambled eggs instead of potatoes.
Desk clerks were friendly and tried to be accommodating. Some sketchy guests people and auto mechanics in the parking lot until tow truck came. Location wasn’t bad considering there wasn’t much around to do but walk the whole Main St, total 1 mile.
- Stephen (7/5): Low toilets - Comfortable and clean. Good breakfast Old style toilet, very low. Very hard to use if you have bad knees
- Herman (4/5): - It was okay i got charged twice for my room witch put my bank account in the hole. Asked front desk about it he said no we only charged once them called me later and said yes we charged you twice. I had to borrow money to get home. The breakfast wasn't good no syrup for the waffles, eggs were not good.
- marie (2/5): - The bathroom is dirty. The carpet is disgusting. The entire place should be torn down and rebuilt.
- Richard (4/5): - Unfortunately, the property is dated and not very clean, but not many other choices in the area.
- Katie (5/5): Passable - Close to where I needed to be. Definitely needs updating, some fixtures were old and showed it. Also, I booked two nights through Booking.com and it was $170. When I got there I decided to add another night and it was $170 just for that ONE night cause I had to book through the hotel at that point. Mind you, I was there Monday through Thursday, not a weekend where I would expect higher prices. Staff I did see were friendly.
- Campos (1/5): Bad -
- KEN (4/5): - We expected more from Wyndham. The parking lot and walkways are littered and dirty, the room (recently refurbished, we were told) is in need of paint, furniture and a general scrubbing. The sink drain was slow so I pulled up the pop-up plug and found a huge hair ball, which I removed with a rolled up ball of toilet paper and threw in a garbage can outside our door due to the smell (another bit of tackiness, that garbage can.) Overall a less than stellar experience.
- Laura (6/5): - This hotel is 60+years old. Bathrooms need to be upgraded. Carpet needs to be upgraded to solid surface flooring.
Beds are very hard.
Was fairly clean. Manager was helpful and friendly.
Full breakfast was average. No yogurt or fresh fruit.
- F. (8/5): - We were there for the Greer Days Event. The motel is very dated and in need of renovation. The tub/shower had used shampoo & conditioner left behind and faucet was dripping. We were kinda grossed out. We were not at that point planning to use the tub/shower anyways. The staff more than made up for the bathroom condition with friendly professional service. We did end up using the tub/shower the day before we left and we haven't contracted any diseases or died. The provided breakfast items were decent quality and plentiful. The manager informed us that they will be performing a full renovation in the near future. If we come back next year and are not staying in Greer we will definitely give it another look.
- Jack (6/5): Pleasant - Conveyance The shower did not drain like it should.
- Cathy (1/5): Never a gain - Good Room 121 should be condemned...floor was duscussing...turned my feet black...wiped with towel and showed front desk...tub was discussing, dirty. Paint chipping on wall...sink had hair in it
- Rynveld (4/5): Disappointing -
- cottonwooddad (2/5): Don’t stay here!!! - Not a good place to stay!
No worth what you pay. Not the best experience, checking in had trouble finding reservation luckily I had a copy with me. Unfortunately the toilet wasn’t even bolted to the ground. I fell off the toilet almost hit my head on the sink that front desk know no concern.
- Salvador (6/5): - The property needs an update.
- Sheffield (1/5): Extremely low standards for a Wyndham property - Mohammed at the front desk on the second day was very nice very helpful.
I like where the location was . Property was old, not updated at all. The thing I hated the most was the damn toilet wasn’t even bolted to the floor. I rested over to get toilet paper and almost fell off the toilet cause the toilet tipped over.
- Martinez (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast was delicious and very presentable!
- Jeff (6/5): Not a good stay - The breakfast was semi good and staff was accommodating and already knew the rooms were in bad shape Rooms weren't the cleanest- kinda had a smell. Friends i traveled with had mold in there bathrooms. Hot water wouldn't shut off. My bed wasnt that comfortable, really lumpy. I had the master suite and could barely fit in the toilet room. Shower was really small.
- S1230NFhenryh (10/5): Great stay at Ho-Jo's in Springerville - Room clean. Quiet evening surprising bkf for a very reasonable hotel price. Small suggestion...facility does have a cocktail lounge which was closed. If opened, I'm sure guests would linger here, watch T V. and maybe order in pizza ..........
- Lena (8/5): Very good -
- Clarence (10/5): Great service - The host that checked us in was absolutely amazing! She made sure to give us great service! Both days!
- Paul (2/5): Don't do it... - Cleaning staff came into my room at 0650 in the morning and woke me up. I was on vacation. Not acceptable for service industry. No do not disturb sign in room or at front desk. Will not be back.
- Myron (7/5): Good -
- Al (5/5): Passable - Great location Water was not hot.
- Robert B. (6/5): - Our room was not clean, there was no shower curtain and only 1 towel in the bathroom, and the floor and the toilet were filthy. We did call the front desk and they offered to switch us to a new room the next day. I asked for cleaning supplies and I cleaned the room myself. The next day the weekend cleaning lady did a good job of cleaning our room while we were out. Hotel is very run down. We could deal with them remodeling, however it was filthy. Staff was very nice though, they did not offer a discount which we think should have been offered.
- Jon (5/5): Tired property in desperate need of investment - Not much Tired and in desperate need of investment
- Jeffery (9/5): Superb -
- Mia (6/5): Pleasant -
- Judy (6/5): Old and dirty - Nothing The room was dirty, old furniture, old restroom, bath, sink.
- Jason (7/5): Will most likely return just don't expect fancy. - Convenient area, comfortable beds. Breakfast not quite as advertised. Had typical waffles, few bread selection. Stayed 2 nights, did have bacon which was usually out or very undercooked. Coffee was good though! Bathroom needs serious updating.
- Jeremy (10/5): - Room was great and so was price. Close to dinning
- Al (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Steve (10/5): Better than expected - The front desk was friendly and professional. The room looked brand new. Continental breakfast was very good. For the price it was a lot of hotel.
- Kay (10/5): It was perfect for my needs and the price was just what I could afford! - Do clean and conveniently located!
- Valerie (10/5): Clean - Very clean and well stocked. Friendly staff and good breakfast.
- Jan (7/5): Good - Very clean. Bed and pillows well used. Breakfast adequate, but missed the waffles usually available at places serving a hot meal.
- Isaac (10/5): Exceptional - Needed a place to rest for the night, really nice place inside for your breakfast 👍🏽😎
- Kathy (9/5): Superb -
- Marilyn (6/5): Reasonably priced, comfortable bed and good hot breakfast. - Hotel is very outdated. Needs to be renovated.
- Jason (7/5): It was available when we needed it the most on a very long roadtrip. - It was in a good location. It was a little out dated, but they did have a sign that said they were remodeling.
- Julie (7/5): Good - It was clean friendly staff comfortable bed No pressure in shower plus we got a handicap room maybe that’s why no hot water and no pressure. We are not handicapped so I don’t know why we got that room when there wasn’t many people there
- Robert (4/5): Not a good experience. - The room was not clean at all and there was no hot water. It was very noisy too. I will not stay there again when I return on business.
- Anna (10/5): Nice place for a night or two - This place was nice, clean and quiet. The breakfast was better than some and the manager and staff were nice and accommodating. The room for morning breakfast was cool. They kept it as clean as possible.
**Note I wrote an earlier review but It wasn't for this place...my bad so hopefully they got it deleted. The bathroom showerhead needs to be higher, at least 6ft height and the handles need different faucets as the one we had didn't really shut off with turning it so hard that you were afraid to break them. Also, assorted pillow thicknesse would be nice. Ours were all too thick to find a decent one to use. Taller, bigger people it would be just fine.
