We paid $688 for one night and sad that an $8 breakfast was not included. Room was standard and not work the money. We paid less to stay in the Cesars Palace in Vegas and it was well worth it. Rooms were amazing Will choose another hotel next time and pay uber to get to the DPAC

- mirindak2025 (2/5): Worst room design ever and most uncomfortable - The room design is the worst I’ve ever seen. The heating/AC unit is at floor level and blows right onto the bed. There was one chair and an uncomfortable desk chair. The sink is separated from the toilet and towel racks by a partial wall so that you have to walk around the wall after washing your hands to then drip on the toilet seat as you try to dry them. The bed was lumpy and sank from the edges to the middle. Staying there was such a gloomy (not much night lighting) and uncomfortable experience that we left a day early. This is not a hotel for people older than their twenties.

Prime location for an event you’re attending! Parking. The garage is attached, but separate. You have to go outside of the hotel and around to get the garage and vice versa. And there’s a fee too.
- nancypK1112WL (8/5): Nice hotel huge rooms - Stayed here because of the walking convenience to a concert venue. The rooms were large and the beds were comfortable and most of the employees were friendly and outgoing. The food and beverage services however left a lot to be desired. Placing an order for breakfast then waiting for it to be cooked and picking it up and carrying it back to a table was a pain especially since we did not know the routine. I felt the cook got somewhat impatient with us because of that. Having a menu and a waitress taking the order and serving it would have been much more convenient especially for such a nice hotel. After the concert we went to the bar to get a drink and there was not any "Bloody Mary" mix. Has anyone heard of a bar that couldn't make a "Bloody Mary?" Other then the food and beverage issues it is an excellent place to stay. I just felt the Aloft was too nice of a hotel not to be able to provide guests with better dining options.

Lots of places around for dinner, coffee, and drinks within very short walking distance. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Very clean and spacious room! This was a stay that was typically out of budget for us, but that’s not something the hotel could “fix” since we made that decision to stay there. The location was the selling point for us and absolutely worth it. Would be willing to stay again, but stays will have to remain short for us.

- Hiketographer (6/5): You are paying for convenience. Also be prepared to pay for anything extra that you would think would be included. - You are paying for location and nothing more. Aloft Durham is a nice hotel but for over $500 you don’t get any extras. You don’t get free parking which is an additional $15 a day. You also don’t get the morning breakfast which is over $20 a person. This hotel is also pet friendly and the barking dog alerted us to that several times during our stay. The rooms are nice and larger than a Hampton Inn. The real value in it is its location to DPAC and the other areas of the entertainment district. It is a nice area and feels secure. That is what you are paying for.

We were in town for an event at DPAC next door, we walked around for a little bit and next thing you know it was 1.5 hours later and room was still not ready. Asked the front desk attendant she was doing her best, finally we are getting super close to time for our event to begin and our room was ready. It was very hot in the lobby no one apologized offered us a drink or anything for our inconvenience. We arrived in our room to be greeted by a hot room and someone’s fake nail left at the entrance floor.

The room was well appointed and very comfortable. Parking - no valet, but parking is available in a multistory beside the hotel. Very overpriced. This is a decent hotel, but not spectacular.
- Studer (1/5): Don’t stay here! - The location was good. Our room was not cleaned so we had no fresh towels, coffee or water changed. Plus trash was left & caused the room to reek as we had tossed old food. A pool was advertised but it was more the size of a pot tub with a 4’2” depth. Tough to swim a lap. Also advertised a restaurant- wrong. A man was heating microwave food & you could eat in the lobby/bar area. Plus a $15 charge to park every day. Not worth over $200 per night.

She is so personable, knowledgeable about the area, helpful and a great conversationalist. We will be back for sure! If I had to say I didn’t like something I would say the parking. But it really isn’t that big of a deal.

Restaurants within walking distance and a nice green space. Dog friendly! Short driving distance to Duke University Hospital and campus. The staff is friendly and helpful! Rooms are big, modern, and clean with very comfortable beds. Parking garage is attached. I’ve stayed many times during March, April and May. Highly recommend!

I enjoyed that there was a large field of grass right in front of the hotel. The pool had a stunning view and the rooms were very modern. Special shout out goes to Jolene at the front desk. They were so helpful and kind to me during my entire stay!

- TAP647 (8/5): Larger than normal rooms, great location, many good options nearby - parking included. - Great location - close to highways and restaurants. 2 Queen room was larger than we expected - with a couch and extra space, which was nice for a family of four. Nice, but small outdoor pool - no hot tub though. This Aloft has more food options than others we have stayed out, which is really nice. Only 2 bottles of complimentary water for our weeklong stay was disappointing and charged $6 per bottle when replenished in the room!! Parking in nearby lot is included and was relatively convenient and no additional charge. Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations given the larger than typical room size - recommend if you are a family visiting the Durham area.

- Rebecka Lynn Quebec (4/5): Receptionist Benjamin Granby needs to be removed - The reservation was made under my e-mail for my partner Rebecka who was staying at the hotel with her mother for a lecture. Shortly after her check-in, I received an e-mail of the receptionist asking my partner out on a date. The receptionist seemed to have no clue he was e-mailing me from what the e-mail suggests. He also went out of his way and provided free breakfast and parking as incentives to try and impress my woman. Using customer information such as email or phone numbers for personal matters is extremely unprofessional and should not be tolerated. I was going to leave this alone but I can’t help but to think of how many times this creep has done this to other clients. I request a full refund of my stay, since upon telling my partner what happened, neither her nor her mom were comfortable sleeping at the hotel after knowing this man used private information to reach out and try to get to her. I also request that the mentioned receptionist is removed from his position or at the least suspended. This unprofessional approach made my woman’s stay very uncomfortable for what was supposed to be a mom and daughter family matter stay at your facility. As an active duty service member currently deployed in the Middle East, incompetent people and unprofessional behavior I cannot keep up with. Attached is Benjamin’s email and my response to it.

Theres noise (probably exhaust but sounds like vacuum cleaner) from the bathroom every 30 minutes or so and throughout the night which ruined my sleep. And then there's the train that blows it horns for a straight minute starting 5am which is unbearable.

I paid for a city view, but living local to the area know that I instead had a direct view of the one office building facing the opposite direction of the city. Otherwise the room was great, very comfortable and clean. I tend not to take these things too seriously, but someone who does might have objected.

- Drew (10/5): - If you’re going to a show at the DPAC there is no better place for the money. Rooms were up to date with large windows and tall ceilings with a more modern design. Bathroom was upgraded and showers were nice. Easy onsite parking in downtown with an additional parking fee. But it’s good for 24 hours so you can stay parked after checkout to walk around or enjoy a show. Great experience overall.
