The room heat was in electricity, thus obviously there was no heat in the rooms. (We had 2 rooms booked) It was cold, uncomfortable. Interestingly there was electricity everywhere around. We checked out the next morning, the woman up front didn't even apologize, as if it was normal. No offers for partial refund, nothing. Her office had electricity all along thru the night (personal generator) Seems like a scam and she is probably doing it frequently, this savings some on electric bill. Ridiculous stuff. Haven't seen anything like this in third world countries. And this is in upstate NY. Will never stay there again! Will not recommend.

Some things have improved like a couple of light blocking shades to increase privacy. Bed was comfortable. Extra plugs on nightstands for charging was nice addition. Full kitchen, microwave, full fridge, stove and oven if needed. Coffee maker with coffee, filters, sugar and creamers provided. Nice large bath towels and toiletries provided. Main front picture window and frosted window in shower could still use improved privacy.

- AnnMarie (5/5): Eh, OK For a One Night Stay in an Emergency. - Very expensive for what we received. We walked into a room with a distinct smell, and not a good one. Room has been minimally updated, looks like it was built in the 70's and then given not a lot of love since then. Disappointed for the price we paid. The smell. Mildew? Mold? Not sure. And update some features, such as the rocking chairs straight out of 1970. Everything in the place made me not want to take my shoes off or touch the surfaces. For the record, I am NOT a germaphobe, just a person who wants clean accommodations.

We didn’t use the kitchen - it was small but complete. The room has an air conditioner and heating. WiFi was good and the television worked well. Also the price was very reasonable.

- Lee (4/5): - The motel is in a great location for exploring the Catskills and there are several good restaurants to eat at nearby but the property needs updating. The room was smelly and there were stains on the carpet. We were only given one set of towels even though we stayed two nights and the maid did not clean the room after the first night. The bathroom has no extractor fan and the only way to ventilate is open the window but this allows people outside the bathroom to look in. There was no staff to contact or speak to on a second night to ask about extra towels or toilet paper. Overall a very disappointing stay.

- Allyson (10/5): A Little Gem in the Heart of Big Indian - Everything was very clean, check in was super easy, bed was comfortable, and the kitchenette was super convenient. The added touches of outdoor lighting, grills, fire pit, plenty of seating and picnic tables made it even better. It feels like the owners put real thought into everything on the property, and what guests would need, use and appreciate. This was the second time our group stayed there, and we came back because of our previous positive experience there.

- Cherette (4/5): - When booking at the Starlite, expectations MUST be managed. This booking is in the Catskills, got it. Each area/region has a specific aesthetic. However, basic standards of good business practices SHOULD BE CONSISTENT wherever the booking. Basic things like functionally of the “amenities”, cleanliness of the space SHOULD BE a given! And, considering the price I was charged for this booking, these accommodations ABSOLUTELY missed the mark! Burn marks on the cheap carpet, missing and broken tiles in the bathroom, old/out dated furnishings that are too worn to be properly cleaned, spotty/unreliable WiFi in a region where you’ll probably have no other signal/connectivity access…. Look, if the price was commensurate with the experience, I would have no comments. However, you can’t charge Hyatt Regency prices and deliver an experience comparable to lodgings that charge BY THE HOUR and usually host shady behavior! I was depending on that 9.2 rating to be the case, as a woman traveling solo for work. This place was an absolute disappointment. I truly wish I could post screenshots. Book at your own risk!!

- Ellen (10/5): Quiet and Cozy - We only stayed one night at the Starlite Motel. This motel is not like other places we have stayed. It was quiet and it had character. We really liked that our room included a small kitchen. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. The backyard area was great for us to relax with friends and play games. I would love to come back and stay longer to enjoy the area and I would definitely take advantage of the grills and fire pit. If you’re looking for “modern” this may not be for you, but if you’re looking for something quaint with a little character, it is perfect. We loved our one night stay and would like to visit again in the future.

Blow-dryer , iron all provided. Room design rather dated. Bath room caulking was broken, bathtub should be redone. Would have not felt comfortable taking a bath, but was ok as a shower.

- Crystal (7/5): Overall we had a great stay and the outdoor setting was beautiful. - Great location to Belleayre Mountain, Phoenicia, Woodstock, Slide Mountain and numerous other hiking trails, dog friendly, outdoor gazebo, screened room, fire pit and picnic tables plus kitchenette. Our room on the end #8 was a little older and dated, musty smelling but the beds were really comfortable.

It would have been nice to have windows that open to the fresh air. Even though it was 50 degrees outside our room was quite stuffy and we needed the air conditioner.

- Philip (3/5): Inhosbitibal hosbitality - The hotel lost power due to a storm before we even made the reservation. They never shared that information until we got there. There were no lights, AC, hot water, wifi or kitchenette. The only place to charge ones phone was in ones car. When I said I thought we deserved a hefty discount, she only offered $30. The hotel management could have supplied flashlights and lanterns, moved furniture to make a seating area near the office/manager's residence, a coffee station for the guest. They had a generator for the office and residence so they were familiar with loosing power and yet did nothing for the paying guests

- Lorraine (10/5): Great Place for a Hiker - I’ve read some other comments about this being an older property. Honestly, any motel is going to be older. I found this motel to be in very good condition overall. My room was very clean and very comfortable. It was fully stocked with all of the typical hotel items. The kitchen was stocked with most anything you would need, though I only stayed one night and did not cook. The back yard was full of several small decks, grills, and other items that would allow you to enjoy a summer evening outside. I’ve stayed in a handful of motels as I’ve hiked in the Adirondacks and Catskills regions and this was the cleanest, most comfortable, and best maintained. I would definitely stay here again if I am back in the area doing more hiking.

- Lili (10/5): Exceptional - Like my apartment, comfy and clean, and we cook noodles there!! And have nice coffee too! The best of best is only 5 minutes drive to Belleayre ski resort!! Highly recommended!!! Would come back again!! Maybe.. no WiFi(no service)?

- Scott (9/5): Superb - Clean comfortable and charming motel. This was our second stay. Still happy. One rooms guests were banging doors all night.
- Porrino (9/5): Stayed 2 nights, which was originally for work, but the job was postponed and it was non refundable, - I liked the room and accommodations a lot. The rooms are a little outdated, but everything worked, the place was clean and the kitchen had everything you would need. The outside areas are nice also. I wish the weather was warmer to take advantage of the outdoors, but I would definitely stay there again. And finally a bathroom with adequate lighting. Most hotels and motels have terrible lighting in the bathrooms. Really the entire room had good lighting which is not common today. only thing I would suggest is a dimmer for the main room light and possible bathroom light.
