Seattleite83 (10/5): Great stay with outstanding service - We had a wonderful stay here in January during our first visit to Birmingham and Alabama. The hotel was spotless and located within easy walking distance of Mountain Brook Village, which had restaurants and ice cream shops our kids enjoyed. Our room was spacious and quite nice. Best of all was the hospitality - the staff were unfailingly kind and I was impressed at how many people remembered and addressed me by name. Our 6 year old daughter was especially enamored with Bode, the staff member who checked us in (and even gave her a souvenir stuffed animal at check-in). After we got home, she told us she wanted to go back to the hotel specifically because she missed Bode. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again if we are ever back in Birmingham in the future.

U1042CPbobbys (10/5): Amazing! - My wife and I came to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary on a Friday night and checked out Saturday evening. Upon arrival valet was fairly busy but hardly any wait whatsoever. Tyler met us with a smile & answered our questions and packed our stuff onto a cart and guided us into the lobby. Faith checked us in at the front desk, also super sweet. We visited the spa and restaurant while here. Both nice experiences. When we left, we seen Tyler again and with the same warmth and friendliness, packed us back up and got us on the road. It seemed like everyone here remembered our names and made us feel seen, important, and valued. Which was very nice given the occasion of our anniversary weekend. We had a great anniversary get-away at the Grand Bo. Will definitely be back when we can stay longer.

Richard (1/5): I’m more than upset with how my wife and I were treated by security at this hotel. - The room was beautiful, the drinks at the bar were good at the bartenders were nice too. I’m disappointed to say that some members of the staff conducted themselves in a way that made us feel uncomfortable. The head of security (D. Gotti) came to our door while we were in the bathtub, apparently due to a noise complaint. He knocked twice, and before I could even make it to the door he threatened to call the police on us! Arthur at the front desk explained that we should have gotten a courtesy knock from the party that complained and a warning, before having security come to our door. That never happened. If we were too loud, D. Gotti should have just told us and we would have accommodated. But instead, he was instantly hostile. It became clear that we were not welcome so we checked out, ending our anniversary early. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone that values their safety, or a comfortable stay.

The staff is always polite and the valet staff is the best! Starting when you get there, Kevin greets you with a smile and personal touch!! To the late night valets!! They are great!

Every staff member we came into contact with was welcoming, friendly, and helpful! The bed pillows weren't comfortable -- a bit too stuffed and stiff -- but that was a minor thing. On the third floor in the sitting rooms (near the entrance -- not as part of the restaurant), they were very cold and the music was too loud to be able to sit and talk or read. Otherwise, it would have been such a lovely space to hang out in!

The valet manager, Kevin greeted us personally, and his friendly and helpful attitude immediately set the tone for our stay. You can clearly see the pride he takes in his work and in his team—they were polite, professional and well-trained. Having such a smooth and welcoming first impression truly elevated our stay. The front desk staff made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped in the lobby--friendly, accommodating, and always smiling. Our room was clean and comfortable. We couldn’t have asked for better service or cleaner accommodations! Equally memorable was our time in the restaurant at breakfast. Jillian took wonderful care of us each morning. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind, making sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. Her cheerful service was the perfect start to our day! The chef-designed breakfast menu is amazing, featuring classic Southern breakfast options, delicious blueberry pancakes, and seasonal selections. We didn't encounter a staff member at this hotel who was any but great (Which is rare compared to experiences we've had at other hotels) we highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Birmingham!

E545MZdavidj (10/5): Nice Full-Service Hotel in Fashionable/Safe Area of Birmingham Adjacent to Walkable Boutiques, Restaurants, Ice Cream - Nicely located full-service hotel in Mountain Brook, AL; a rather fashionable area of Birmingham. Very hot during my stay; the AC in the room worked perfectly. Daily turndown service and room cleaning expertly performed each of my 3 night stays. I ate breakfast and lunch at the hotel; great food and service. There is a swimming pool but despite the heat it didn't look too appetizing; and I never saw anyone using it. Comfortable bed, good TV and WiFi. Bathroom worked well (toilet, sink and shower room). Well appointed rooms. Spacious rooms. Nice rooftop bar. Parking can be tight at times, but they do offer valet service if you need it. Bottled water provided in the room each day or you can ask for a bottle at the front desk when returning to the hotel in the afternoon. Rooms do have a small beverage fridge. Overall a very pleasant stay. Rooms are pricy but in this case you DO get what you paid for. Also the hotel is adjacent to a lot of brand new, walkable retail shops; a few restaurants, ice cream shop and small supermarket. So once you return to the hotel prior to dinner time you can park/forget the car and either eat at the hotel or take a 10 minute walk in a safe area to try something different. You can check out the neighborhood on Google Earth and you'll see what I mean.

The front desk with Faith and team was also kind! The room is always clean and stocked with well with water! Any time we arrive in the lobby, staff are always greeting and ensuring we don’t need anything! Perfect place to stay when visiting Birmingham!

E4688MOdustinh (10/5): - The Grand Bohemian Hotel is the epitome of class. We had a fantastic experience. Hands down, the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. When you first walk in to the hotel, their attendants are right there to greet you and serve whatever need you may have. Every employee was very friendly and very attentive. When you first walk in to your room, you’ll see super elegant art work on the walls. I’m not even an art person, but these paintings made the room. Super nice bathroom and shower. The soap smells amazing. Very comfortable bed. Super clean room. It was our wedding night, and they treated us with a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries, which was a very nice touch. They also provide you with bath robes in the closet. And Kevin, our bellman, was very attentive and super helpful. He was right there to escort us and all of our luggage out to our vehicle as we were leaving. Didn’t even have to touch a bag. All in all, it was a wonderful experience. We plan to try and stay at every Kessler Collection hotel in America. We were that impressed. I highly, highly recommend the GBH.

The entire staff made us feel so welcome and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Sort of shocking that the service would be so poor for an expensive reservation and a C- property at best. Cannot recommend enough against staying there. The manager refused to provide a simple night change accommodation.

The hotel is very nice and was definitely a good choice for an extended stay at a hotel. This hotel is located in an area that is convenient to the freeway and provides numerous options for restaurants and shopping. The hotel staff, in general, was very attentive and provided good customer service. There were, however, three hotel staff members that deserve special recognition. Rod Clark, Tyra Rogers and Sha Bennett went above and beyond to ensure my stay at the Grand Bohemian was an excellent experience. They were always pleasant, courteous and professional. They worked to ensure any issue I encountered was expeditiously resolved in an appropriate manner.

sharykiaj2023 (10/5): Staying at the grand bohemian hotel was an experience in itself, but the service aspect took it over the top, thank you! - During my stay at the grand bohemian hotel, I was greeted by Rod Clark with PMC. He approached me with the most professional greeting, explained the valet process, asked me my name, repeated my name throughout my trip, gave me great directions to the area since I have never been here and made me feel like the hotel was waiting on me to arrive. Once he left his team extended the same courtesy, Perry brake and Ladarius Reed gave me the best service once he left and it was like they didn’t miss a beat. I will definitely be back to visit the grand bohemian hotel, especially my newly found friends, Rod, Perry, and Ladarius. See you soon guys! Keep up the great work!

Meander299605 (8/5): Great, fine on the way to Tuscaloosa - Front desk was phenomenal. Very helpful. Tripp, Sha and the other female which I can’t remember her name where all very welcoming. Beautiful location with many restaurants walking distance. The beds were amazing, comfortable and the shower was fantastic. The decor and paintings in the building were also something to see and enjoy.

Livingthevidalola (10/5): Funky and Fun - At the risk of sounding like a total snob, my expectations from an Alabama hotel were admittedly quite low, however, this hotel stay was very much on par with what you would get any major city. The staff at check-in were really lovely. The cleanliness of the room and facility maintenance were beyond reproach. Amenities were nice. The rooftop bar was really great and I particularly enjoyed the feature cocktails by their in-house bartenders. A short five minute drive to numerous local attractions, including a the botanical garden. Great stay.
johnwV2900JQ (10/5): Valet is amazing - Valet, Brooks had tremendous 10/10 service. From the moment I stepped out to the moment I left I felt an overwhelming amount of welcoming. I don’t know what is better the Spa or the valet service. Very comfortable and safe hotel to stay at %100 recommend
16jscho (10/5): All around great! - Brooks was great and very helpful for my arrival. He assisted with parking, finding my room, unloading my things, and food recommendations. The room was very nice. The complimentary snacks in the room were a perfect little treat. Will definitely stay here again.
ATL_Jana (6/5): Great Location, But Cleanliness Needs Improvement - I really wanted to like this beautiful hotel, and it certainly has potential. The location is fantastic, with easy access to local boutiques and restaurants. When we first entered our room, it appeared clean and welcoming. However, our experience took a turn when I discovered a used glass and snacks left on the floor from the previous guest while closing the curtains. I asked my son to check under the bed, and we found even more snacks. This indicated that the room had not been thoroughly cleaned after the last stay, which was quite disappointing. Given its great location and affordability during busy times like Bama game days and family weekends, I had high hopes for this place. Unfortunately, the lack of attention to cleaning left a negative impression. I hope they improve their housekeeping standards because it could be a wonderful option otherwise.

tbtravel68 (10/5): I love this hotel! - This is a very beautiful hotel! The rooms are gorgeous! It's one of the few high end hotels in Birmingham. The staff is very accommodating and helpful! Especially the front desk staff! And they serve you champagne upon check in! Which is a very nice touch to set the tone for your stay! I also love the area that the hotel is located in! It's a very cute section of Birmingham! Restaurants and coffee shops are within walking distance of the hotel! They offer valet parking but there is also plenty of self parking! And their bath products smell soooo good! You will want to purchase some to take home!

lori270 (10/5): Great Stay at The Grand Bohemian - My husband and I stayed on property recently and we were very impressed. We were treated like royalty from the first second we set foot on the property from the valet to the front desk. Every single employee we came in contact with went above and beyond for us. The most impressive however was a housekeeping employee named Dan. He came chasing after us (from the 3rd floor) as we were about to drive away after we checked out. I forgot my watch which was still charging in the wall. I was so thankful and couldn't believe that he was willing to run downstairs and come looking for us. I am beyond grateful to this gentleman. I have forgotten items before in hotel room such as glasses, chargers, etc. All of which get turned into lost and found and if you want them back you either have to come back and pick it up or pay to have it mailed to you. Dan is a very thoughtful and dedicated employee who should be commended. This hotel obviously knows how to hire the best employees. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

Michelle (10/5): Stay, but don't eat dinner - It was awesome! My only conolaint is the restaurant. I looked up the menu before deciding on going there foe dinner only to find that everything online was incorrect. They didn't have moat of the food shown online and i was told i was looking at the lunch menu which was not true, i was looking at the bar menu. They also don't have many options for non alcoholic drinks which is odd. I would not take kids there because they do not have any kid friendly options.

The valet, Rod was so attentive to our needs and went over and beyond to assist us with our heavy luggage. Hotel - 10/10, Valet - 10/10, Food - 10/10 and Staff - 10/10

The concierges can be kind of snooty and shady BUT I left my AirPods in the room after checkout and they called me back within 5 minutes to say they had them and holding them for me at the desk. The rooftop bar is a great setting in nice weather - if they’re busy the service can be a little slow

Brian (4/5): For the cost, the housekeeping and cleanliness was not up to par. - Staff was nice but housekeeping was severely lacking No real dining options for kids. Not a family friendly hotel. Housekeeping didn’t clean band aids stuck to shower door discovered upon arrival (after notifying the front desk) and left cleaning bottles around the room after cleaning while we were out during the day. For the cost and expectation of this classification, this should have been handled by the staff.
