The room was about 80 degrees inside so AC needs service. Also need new shower head the current one seems partially clogged so water was coming out uneven.

- Ellen (6/5): Nice, not fancy. - It is an older motel that is well cared for. The room card reader didn't work well. It was very difficult to unlock the door. The toilet is so close to the vanity it was impossible to sit straight!! Very clean, very friendly staff.

As a quick stop for a shower and a nights sleepâŚ.the place is fine. Anything more than thatâŚ.find somewhere else to stay.

- romanw871 (8/5): Decent motel, friendly staff - We stayed as there were not other options available. Well it offers all I would expect from a motel. Room was a not outdated and used, yet decently maintained and clean. Check in and checkout were quick and smooth. Staff were friendly and provided a few good advices. There is a dinner - Little Frisch in a walking distance, other restaurants are about 10 minut ride in Morenci. Good value for money spend.

The staff is super nice and attentive but thereâs a handful of upgrades that would go a long way. My biggest complaint was the shower, mostly because it needed a new shower head. They also had old school bed covers which went out of style for a reason (cleanliness) and the room stank. Otherwise, the beds were comfortable, the setting beautiful, and the staff loved our dogs.

And the hairs in the shower were the cleaning person, as well. And, the room is carpeted. Yuck! I always say to my family that we have to say 3 good things. The a/c was good and cold, plenty of towels and great water pressure in the shower. Next time Iâm in Clifton, I will try a different motel.

- Joshann (6/5): Nice area, but the room was a let down. - My family and I are in town for work at the Morenci mines. The room smells like cigarettes even though it was a non-smoking room, the beds were not comfortable, the neighbors were loud and smoked right next to our room. Their dogs even ran inside of our room accidentally and they just kept saying that they don't bite but, I mean if it has teeth ( then it doesn't come people). đ Also the bathroom door did not close properly, there was only one small window so the room wasn't properly ventilated. The outside area is pretty nice tho, and I liked how close we were to things like the gas station or bashas. However the train was way too loud and passed by about 10 times a day and several times at night which made it impossible to get any sleep or peace. We would consider staying in another room, since we didn't get the room we wanted but the room we got we did not like and left early. The owner was nice enough to refund us and any requests we had they we're willing to work with us which I loved. Very polite and very flexible with booking and refunding.

The toilet never flushed right even after expressing a need for help from maintenance or staff. The closet didnât have a door. The A/C kept my husband and I up all night because it was so loud. - Cynthia (6/5): If you have nowhere else to stay in town⌠- The motel is need of a renovation. Baseboards, doors and walls had chipped paint or were falling off. The pillows on the bed were different thicknesses. Because it is near the road, it is noisy. The hot water took almost 5 minutes to come. The toilet was noisy. It was at least 30% too expensive for what you get, but because of the mine, I am sure it is busy and they donât need to improve it. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The tv worked and there was a microwave, coffee maker, fridge, desk and lounge chair. The room was a decent size.

- Drechanteuse (10/5): It's Still the Rode Inn! - The Rode Inn has been the most reliable lodging in Clifton for as long as I can remember and I've depended on it for decades. The decor does look stuck in the 80s, but the rooms are spacious and comfortable. There's a fridge and a microwave, comfy beds, a coffee maker and all you need to relax and enjoy your stay in the town tougher than Tombstone. The air conditioning and heat work well. The sounds of a real working mining town are not anything to worry about. It's part of the charm of being in Clifton and to me, the train lets me know I'm home. You, may be in Clifton just passing through, but why not explore the historic town, take a day to fish on the San Francisco River, or go up to the lookout point to see the open pit mine? Clifton is steeped in history, and the Rode Inn has it's part in that history. The people who run the hotel are friendly and accomodating. The Rode Inn is what it is, and what it is is a clean, comfortable, friendly place that will most likely exceed your expectations.
- 1Rhyannon (10/5): Don't judge a book by its cover... - This place is great! The customer service was exceptional and even made arrangements for an after hours check-in. The room super clean! It is pet friendly but I didn't see or hear any pets and there was no smell or hair in the room. It was a great room! We will stay there again the next time we pass through.
- sascanlan (6/5): Good Basic Motel - This is the only motel in Clifton. Donât expect much but the rooms are large and clean. Itâs quite dated. Air conditioner was excellent, which was important since it was over 100 degrees. There is a lot of truck noise so my earplugs helped a lot. Not much hot water and only one desk chair. The staff on duty was very nice.
- TravelingAlways3 (10/5): Humble and Clean - I rented a full size bed. It was a small room, no blow dryer, no iron or ironing board, no bath tub. It's an older property. For a business trip it was fine. Very clean, had a shower with plenty of hot water, plenty of pillows. The room had a refrigerator and microwave.
- 236JB236 (8/5): Better than expected - Looking for lodging in Clifton doesn't offer many options and the Rode Inn doesn't look impressive. But don't let that discourage you. The motel is very nice and better than expected. We ended up in Clifton by chance and was glad we found the Rode Inn. Clean, comfortable, cool friendly service and priced right. I would not hesitate making this stop again.
- 31suen (8/5): nice people clean room - clean and well cared for, our room was in the corner and kinda odd shaped but not a big deal, the staff was friendly and acted like they wanted you there, unlike the people at the morenci motel who were rude and didn't really want you there.
- Gina503 (8/5): Very clean for a older hotel - We tried the Rode inn after reading the reviews. 1st of all, the reviews are spot in! Thank you! It is a older place, but, it is very clean! You are right next to the tracks, but we stayed on a Saturday night and did not hear any after 7pm. This is not a best western or holiday inn, so don't expect anything fancy. Bed was good and the staff will get you anything you need.
- lifedancer1946 (8/5): GOOD PORT IN THE STORM - As I have mentioned in many of my other reviews, my husband and I travel all over the West with our hot-shot delivery business and have stayed in 100's of accomodations. Last week we had a transport to the Mine in Morenci, AZ. So after driving the 1000 miles from Reno, NV, through heavy rain most of the way, we were really tired and weren't looking forward to driving the additional 48 miles back to Safford-Thacher for a decent motel room. We have had some rather "iffy" stays at small-town older privately owned motels. But given the circumstances, we decided to give Rode Inn a try. And we were very impressed with our accommodations! Yes, the motel building is definitely older and is located in Clifton (next to Morenci). The town of Clifton is quite old and run down. But the Rode inn is kept up as tidy as is possible in a decaying mining town out of the Old West. The interior of our room was VERY clean and comfortable!! The furniture was identical to what is used in newer Comfort Inns. No thrift store-odds-and-ends that we have found in most small town older motels. We slept well in the comfortable clean bed with fresh linens and a good mattress. The flat screen T.V. was quite small.......but we weren't there to watch T.V. Upon check-in we were given a list of rules, and then again posted on the wall of the room were a few more do's and don'ts. This was uniquely different. and a bit daunting. But given the circumstances and location of this motel with it's highest percentage of clientele likely ruff-and-tumble miners and mine-related contractors, there likely needs to be some established house rules in order to keep this older establishment clean and in good updated repair. So we were okay with the rules and regs. However, the posted rules in the room may be more impressive, professional appearing, taken more seriously, and not look so tacky if they were printed, framed, and displayed on the desk in the room-------rather than as a paper flyer taped to the wall. But of course, that didn't affect our comfortable stay. Also, the room had only one towel and washcloth. The housekeeper explained that usually there is only one occupant in a room. But she generously provided us an additional towel when she realized there were 2 of us. If we ever have occasion to deliver in the Morenci area again, we will not hesitate to stay at the Rode Inn. Also, we will recommend it to any of our drivers who may delivering to the Morenci Mine.
