We had an amazing experience with one of the staff members named Arbon, who was very helpful and treated us very well. I would highly recommend this hotel as it is a very positive environment, and comfortable. We will definitely rebook here upon return to Boston.

The staff was extremely friendly. Arbon went out of his way to ensure his guests were happy & taken care of. We'd definitely stay again.

From the front desk who was always willing to hand out full-size bottles of water to the door men always welcoming you & wishing you a great day to the free snacks in your room that they would give you more of anytime you want?!?! Do all boutique hotels do this?!?! And of course the great location close to the Commons. We seriously had a great visit & would absolutely recommend to anyone.

Always welcomed back to the hotel with a greeting and a smile. The location is brilliant - close to Boston Common and the start of the Freedom Trail. South Station and the metro very close by. Your bellman, Arbon, was incredible. He made us feel special each time we encountered him. I rated it a 4 because of a couple of minor things. The closet in the room was not very accommodating plus the desk chair had ripped leather.

KRP1385 (6/5): Great, Good and Not So Good - All of the staff were great. They were friendly and helpful. We were always greeted by the front desk and the door men were polite and always held the door. The room was good. I say this because it was smaller than the pictures make it look. Everything was a bit of a tight squeeze. The bathroom has a sliding barn door style which you can hear everything. The bed was comfortable, but the room had a minor musty smell. There are water and snacks that are provided in the room for free and the room had a separate seating area with its own tv. There was no drawer space for clothes and the “closet” is an armoire with space to hang 6 items. For the not so good, we were on the second floor and we could hear the subway cars every time they went by underground. It was about every 5-10 minutes. It was difficult to sleep the first couple of nights. All-in-all the room and hotel was nice, but I would ask to have a room on a higher floor, if I were to stay here again. The hotel is centrally located and was convenient for being able to walk where you needed to go.

The room I got was decent size, quiet and clean. Modern design and had a fridge and coffee machine. A steamer too for shirts and wrinkled pants.
JenniferD5563 (10/5): Great stay for the Boston marathon - This is the second year in a row I've stayed at the Godfrey for the marathon. Over 14 years I've tried a lot of options but continue to be SO impressed with the care and attention the entire staff at the Godfrey puts into making the whole race experience special. One of the staff told me that it's their favorite event of the year and I could tell that every single staff member was celebrating the big event along with runners, families and friends. I'll definitely stay there again next year :)
js712026 (10/5): Best stay ever! - My husband ran the Boston Marathon a couple of weeks ago. We had never been to Boston and we are from the south. The Godfrey staff was not only professional but their kindness and support went beyond what I could have ever imagined. You always hear about southern hospitality but The Godfrey’s hospitality was such that it will be held dearly in our hearts forever. The balloons, the finish line décor the race fuel was all so great. When my husband walked into the hotel the staff were all gathered clapping for him and others who ran. They took our picture. When we got to our room there was a gift on our door. It was a framed image of the times/ miles graph that my husband had run in the race. It is on his nightstand now. The work it takes to make it to the Boston marathon seemed to be truly understood by the Godfrey staff. It meant so much thank you for making this experience truly unforgettable.

U5272PJjims (10/5): Godfrey - Boston Marathon 2026!! - This was my 5th consecutive Boston Marathon and my 2nd consecutive stay at the Godfrey. I am hoping that I will make it my 3rd consecutive stay at the Godfrey in 2027 for the following reasons: Your staff is fantastic, your rooms are clean and orderly, and you treat the runners like family and are genuinely excited to have us!! A gift bag upon checking in with great goodies, and a gift bag including my own framed marathon time and map after the marathon! I had been traveling all day from 3:00 am PST and arriving at Godfrey at 7:15 pm EST. At check in I was cheerfully greeted by Jean. He took the time to make sure that I had everything that I needed. Jean was very helpful during my entire stay, along with other front desk "family". Then there was Finad! Talk about a smiling cordial individual. I wasn't in my room 5 minutes and I had a knock on my door, and there was Finad holding a tray with a bottle of Italian wine, two glasses, and two "sweet treats". I said that I had not ordered anything, and he replied, "I remember you from last year and this is for you." I was blown away! Finad always greeted me with a smile whenever I left the Godfrey or returned. Finad and the other Doormen treated me like "family", with a smile and "have a great day" or "welcome back" Then there is Hatkah! I saw her in the lobby shortly after my arrival and we both recognized each other and we gave "hugs" in the appropriate way. Hatkah and her helper were awesome at the "perfect spread" that you had for us runners the early morning of the marathon, just awesome! Finad and Hatkah were great to see after the marathon as I was happy, tired, and needed a shower. Finad greeted me with a congratulations..... as did your ENTIRE LOBBY OF EMPLOYEES with cheers and clappers! Then Hatkah reminded me that there were massages until 6:00 pm on the second floor and to get there as soon as I showered. Boy oh boy did I welcome that opportunity! How much better does it get for "family"?! All of the employees that I interacted with were gracious and helped me with whatever questions that I had. I absolutely recommend the Godfrey and all of your employees. I hope and pray that I am able to return in 2027
we3doghouse (10/5): Relaxed and easy stay! - We had a short three day family gathering at the Godfrey with eight humans and two dogs and had a fabulous stay. I knew we were set when the staff at the curb got us all in and settled in a warm and friendly manner and that helpful and friendly attitude carried through the entire visit. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the dogs were very happy with the wonderful park space around the corner. We loved our stay!

847jenniw (10/5): Service is better than The Fairmont - Ardit and his team at The Godfrey blew us away with their exceptional service! We’ve traveled to Boston a dozen times since our youngest child is a student at Northeastern University. We’ve almost exclusively stayed at The Fairmont. On this trip, our youngest child was graduating from college. We had two sets of grandparents plus our adult son and his girlfriend traveling with us. We needed a more affordable option than The Fairmont, given our large party. The Godfrey was the absolute best discovery we could have made! Their service is second to none. Do yourself a favor and book your room at The Godfrey!!!
JMSC3 (10/5): Consistently Exemplary - Once again The Godfrey in Boston delivered on its commitment to excellence. As repeat guests, we greatly appreciate the consistent hospitality as demonstrated by every staff member. The Godfrey staff works as a team, rather than in silos, which ensures a seamless experience for guests from arrival through departure. In our Nov., ‘25 review we acknowledged and thanked many of the Godfrey team who we have come to know and appreciate over time. We think it’s also important to acknowledge the front door staff - the welcoming faces of The Godfrey. Arbon, Modesto, Fidan and their team warmly greet all guests, assist with luggage and ride-shares, and offer helpful suggestions for your stay. Lionesa and Rosemarie - of the housekeeping team - set up and thoroughly refreshed our room beautifully and unobtrusively, and greeted us kindly as we passed in the hallways. A special thanks to Ardit and Christian who were proactive in reassigning our room once they became aware that construction on the street below our room could be disruptive. As mentioned in our Nov.’25 review, the location of The Godfrey is great! Getting there is easy from Logan Airport via Boston’s public transportation system (MBTA) known by locals as ‘The T’. It is also an affordable Uber/Lyft drive from the airport (depending on the hour of day). Most of Boston’s attractions are within walking distance or a short ride on The T or an Uber/Lyft drive. George Howell Coffee Roasters and Ruka Restobar are adjacent to the hotel and round out the entire Godfrey experience. Not only are their respective menus delicious, their easy access from The Godfrey comes in handy during blustery weather.

Douglas (10/5): Perfect place to stay for Boston Marathon! - Absolutely amazing service! Stayed for teh Boston Marathon and they made the runners like me feel like Olympic athletes! Really went above and beyond with gift bags, cheering, decorations, and even free post-race massages! Location was also excellent. Hotel restaurant food was amazing. Hotel Bartender Tarrell is fantastic!

Rui (8/5): Great location, in a good hotel, but a bit overrated. - I arrived with high expectations, given the awards and strong press around the hotel. The lobby is indeed nice and modern, but beyond that, much of the property feels somewhat dated, particularly the corridors and the rooms. As a frequent traveler, the 9.0 rating on Booking felt generous but what surprised me even more was the sheer number of perfect 10 scores. It does make one wonder what kind of hotels those guests are typically comparing it to. - Excellent location, very convenient for exploring Boston - Nice touch with complimentary snacks at the end of the day - Spacious bathroom by European standards ::: - Mattress far too soft, and pillows lacking firmness - Bed linens were not properly stretched/tucked - Overall, parts of the hotel feel a bit dated Overall, a decent stay, but not quite at the level the ratings might suggest

Vanessa (7/5): Lovely hotel, but we wouldn’t book again simply because there is no hospitality offered in the room. - They have a fabulous restaurant and the location is excellent They chose to take all coffee and tea and even complementary water facilities out the room requiring you to go downstairs to the lobby any time you want to drink. They say that is to encourage socialising in the lobby. The reality is, it’s in another cross cutting exercise. Being able to make a cup of tea or coffee when you wake up early without having to go in a left and into the lobby in your dressing gown, or making a hot drink after a long day walking around in the cold weather in your room while you get ready for dinner - is part of the joy of going away.

John B (7/5): Reasonable hotel in the heart of Boston. - The location of the hotel was great, close to the heart of Boston and next to 2 metro lines and the Common. The service was friendly and helpful. The bar and lobby area lacked charm and atmosphere, a real shame given the architectural details in the ground floor lift area. The bar was also was very small.
Carrie (10/5): Beautiful Place BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE! What a TEAM’ - lOVED immensely the men who parked my car they were sweetheart and so respectful! Also the bartender working that evening and most of all a lady with blonde hair at the front desk she had an accent and she was awesome to my mom and I. Everyone went above and beyond for us. The only bad part was traveling to higher levels because ours was broken. And the phones in the hallway were broken. But that’s it! I said it on previous paragraph. Bar could have stayed open a bit longer it closed early. We came from the theater and wanted a drink before bed.

Lee (9/5): Excellent, convenient place - We have stayed here several times when in town for appointments, and it is always excellent. The price varies extremely depending on the particular day you stay, so we don't always choose this hotel when the price is high. Extremely convenient and pleasant to stay at. There is a top notch breakfast place around the corner to the left, and the coffee shop downstairs also has decent food. You can easily and safely walk to the Commons to stretch your legs. The valet parking is very expensive, but we don't have other options (we need to keep our car accessible). The lobby decor feels a little jarring.

Charles (9/5): Very comfortable hotel, we would return - A very nice hotel in the theatre district opposite Macy’s. The room was comfortable and clean, no complaints. Staff were efficient and friendly. Our only small gripe was that there is no breakfast. However, there is a coffee shop connected to the hotel where we got all we needed but were surprised that there was no discount for hotel guests given that you walked to it through the lobby.

Besides regular city noise which is fine, there seemed to be garbage collection 2 nights in a row at 5:00 am and our room was facing the street. Also there was construction one of the nights. Out of control of the hotel but still annoying.

There are a lot of good places to eat nearby and easily accessible to public transportation. Rooms are very small and tight.

Warren (6/5): Great convenient location, but.... - We liked the location, the evening hot chocolate, and the staff members eager to open doors for guests. On the second night of our stay, my wife and son were able to take their respective showers without incident, but when I tried to take my shower at 11:35 PM, I was horrified to discover not only was there no hot water, there was no water period. I called down to the front desk to report this, and the woman who answered said we were supposed to have been told that the City of Boston would be doing after hours work and shutting off the water supply. We were not told about this and how were we supposed to have been notified? There was no email, no text message, no handwritten note under the door. Also, there were three of us in the room. Housekeeping had no problem leaving us 3-4 bottles of water every night of our stay, however, several nights we were only given two wash cloths. My wife had to call Housekeeping twice after hours to ask for an additional wash cloth. There seems to be a disconnect between the registration desk and Housekeeping as to the number of guests in each room.
Mateus (4/5): Very unconvenient room - Good location They allocated a room for me on the street where they had overnight works. It was noisy from 9PM until 5 AM as they were literally opening a hole on the street. Couldn't sleep for a second.

Noreen Crowley (8/5): - The location was perfect. Close to the ballet, restaurants and the park. Very walkable and near the T stations. All staff were very pleasant and helpful. One of the reasons I picked it was because it said it had parking, which it did, but it was $60 a night. very pricey and they should indicate that so people know when booking. some other places had a dollar sign next to the parking icon $, but this did not. There was no refirgerator in the room. ````

Jorn (8/5): Mooie locatie. Prima hotel voor een paar dagen. Wel wat aan de hoger kant qua prijs voor wat je krijgt. Maar Boston is e - De locatie. Je ziet overal dichtbij. Ik vroeg om een rustige kamer. De 1 nacht kreeg ik een kamer aan de achterkant op verdieping 6. Maar wel moet ventilatie systemen die veel lawaai maken. Dit werd echter wel goed opgelost. We kregen een andere kamer, aan de voorkant. Deze was ook nog eens groter ( met koelkast). En beviel wel.

Elaine (8/5): Satisfied - The amenities were great. Comfortable bed. Carpet in my room had spots and tears, appearing old and dirty. I got in at midnight, carrying luggage, alone, I’m 75 and was sent to 5th for a very long walk down several corridors to the last room.
