- 43lh (8/5): First time - This is located in historic downtown and only has street parking. Generally you can park close to the front door but may need to park down the street during some times. There is a square parking lot across the intersection too. Per the instructions, we called ahead to let them know we were coming. Unfortunately, we missed our turn so was 15 minutes later than we told them. When we arrived, there was no one at the desk, which is customary, but a sign that instructed to go to the restaurant next door to get a person to check you in. So no problem there. All the areas were clean with seating areas in the lobby section. The elevator is small but quiet and our room was very close to it. The room is not large but it had two full beds and small desk nook. The bathroom was a good size but a small sink and a walk in shower. Complimentary toiletries (bodywash, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion) were on the sink. Towels provided but they were older and scratchy but did what they were intended for. The floors were carpeted in the bed area. The desk was small and there was a small refrigerator and a few wrapped plastic cups. There was a ceiling fan with a light. The mattresses on the beds were softer than we are used to but comfortable. There were no tissues in the room and no closet or place to hang clothes. A few hooks on the small wall opposite the desk would be nice. The AC made a loud clang in our room when it came on but it didn't disturb our sleep. The place was quiet the night we were there. We found ourselves cold then hot with the comforter on the bed but we didn't use the fan and might should have. This inn is very convenient to walk around the historic downtown points of interest and shops.
- X1594WPlindar (4/5): Don't stay if you need any assistance - I booked the hotel and notified them that I was handicap traveling alone. The room they put me in was up stairs and there was no one at the front desk to assist me when I needed to check out. I was stuck on the stairs with my walker and two bags. No one answered the phone and no one was there. I don't understand why they put me in a room where you have to climb stairs. I was very disappointed in my stay.

Coffee corner in hallway but places to eat within walking distance. Remember to call # on front desk to get key-no one sits at front desk. Waling distance to many major historical items in town.

- Katt (10/5): Quaint, Cute Hotel - This hotel was very cute and the service was excellent. We were worried at first because the check in instructions mention they don’t have a 24/7 lobby and our flight wasn’t getting in until after midnight, but that didn’t end up being a problem at all. They own the Italian restaurant next door and I assume live onsite because they were super responsive and the service was quick and efficient. We loved being “downtown” because there are restaurants and shops on the same street as the hotel. Parking was free and easy to find right out front. The place was clean and we felt the rooms were a decent size and had a big bathroom. There were fridges in the rooms as well as a small kitchenette with free coffee, filtered water, silverware, etc. right outside the rooms. If we ever have to travel here again, this is definitely where we will stay!

Tv was on wall 90 degrees left of bed. No lighting for reading in bed or chair. Thermostat did not control room. Set to 73; room was 69. Door not sealed to hallway. Water way way too hot; scalding. Room was not arranged optimally for tv location. Bed was terrible. Sheets low quality. Very surprised property was not better and people were not friendly. I loved Gonzales, but can’t even stay in this place again.

I look forward to staying her - Very old school Hotel, in a very quiet location with a really nice Italian restaurant attached to the property. The sheets were the most comfortable sheets I've ever slept in. It is a great little hotel and I hope you understand that the rooms are going to be smaller than the big motels/hotels. The shower was also fantastic and it had great water pressure. I would happily stay here again the next time I'm in town on business.

I appreciated the coffee bar in the hallway of the second floor as I like to drink coffee in the morning, but for some reason, the Keurig-style coffee maker would not turn on when I pressed the power button. I was grateful that we could leave our to-go dinner boxes in their refrigerator while we spend the morning and early afternoon antiquing and shopping in town.

The room and bathroom exceed expectations. I have never stayed at a boutique hotel before. Each floor had a coffee/water station. It was an experience I won't forget. The attached La Bella Tavola restaurant and bar had wonderful food. All in all - the Dilworth Inn has that old world charm.

- Lyndon (10/5): Nice - Glad we stayed here and would definitely stay again. Room was nice, quite and comfortable. Management allowed us to check-in about 2 hours early. Italian restaurant onsite was nice but did not feel like it was actually part of the hotel. It is much bigger than I expected. The picture of the three small round tables is not inside the restaurant but of a sitting area inside the hotel. The Italian restaurant is actually quite large. It could use some greenery and perhaps grape vines painted on the walls to enhance the atmosphere. The servers were excellent - very attentive. The music playing in the background over numerous speakers throughout the restaurant was excellent. The loudness of the music was perfect - better than any other restaurant I have ever been in. Easy to hear from anywhere but not too low or too loud. However, the food was lacking. Mine and my wife's meals tasted like they were straight out of a can or from TV dinners.

They were super responsive and helpful by phone when we needed something. Only odd thing, there is no microwaves or coffee makers in the rooms, but there are communal ones in the hall.

The inn is very unique in decor with its own personality. The high ceilings with huge ceiling fans are a bonus. There are coffee machines at every turn. Two things I would add... some kind of breakfast, even if just pastries and someone who sits at the desk.

- Richard (8/5): Historic Hotel - The Dilworth is a renovated historic hotel in a charming town in Texas. The rooms are clean, comfortable and utilitarian.
- familyfour65 (2/5): First time, last time - I have no idea how this is #1 in Gonzales. During the entire stay, I only saw one other guest in the morning when I was drinking my coffee. Contrary to what their website states, there is no daily housekeeping. In fact, one room was left open and uncleaned the entire time we were there. At one point when I walked past, there was a cleaning cart in there and one of the beds had finally been made. We did not get clean towels or any extra toiletries. I scoped out a closet that had some clean towels and toilet paper rolls. The sheets were paper thin and there were only two sorry pillows. There was NEVER anyone at the front desk to assist. Nobody refilled the water in the keurigs that were in the hallway, so I did it. Also to note, they do not follow their own cancellation policy, which states if you cancel within 48 hours you lose one night's stay. They will keep the entire amount, no matter the reason, and they do not respond to email. We had to beg them to give us the other nights we had reserved and then they only offered credit. Even that wasn't done correctly. The whole place had a weird vibe and the last night we appeared to be the only ones in the entire place. I would never stay there, again.

Would highly recommend when visiting Gonzales. An Italian restaurant is attached to hotel, worth a visit. Has two bar/ restaurants around town square and lots of variousxeateries during the day. All within walking distance. Also the Gonzales museum is near by to walk yo.
- Bradley (10/5): Weekend getaway in Gonzales, TX - My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Dilworth! The room was spacious and comfortable and the staff was great. A great place to kick back and relax. We took in several historic sites and local restaurants and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

- Verified traveler (4/5): I don’t understand the high ratings - So much was below expectations: Had to move a bench at the foot of the bed to open the bathroom door. Sheets and especially towels were not great. Upstairs had a bit of a musty smell. The desk chair in our room was unstable and unusable due to a wobbly chair leg. No maid service after the first of our two nights. We had an exterior room, but the window was small and too high to be able to see anything but sky. The room had not been thoroughly cleaned. I left a zigzag pattern in the dust that had accumulated at the top of the headboard. Overall, barely adequate. I was eager to leave.
- Annette (6/5): - Poor check in, I was arriving after 6pm so I contacted the inn was told to call the lady when I got there. Called her before I even stepped into the lobby. Waited no one showed up. Went next door to their Italian restaurant. Told somebody still waited. Had to go back again and she was behind the cashier's desk telling me she'd be there shortly and it was another 10 minutes. The connecting restaurant has access to the hotel for the restrooms on the first floor. There is no way for you to feel safe in this hotel because all the restaurant guests have access to this hotel. Our room the deadbolt wouldn't even work half of it was missing. Will never stay here again
- M105RElisah (10/5): March 2024 Stay - Our stay at the Dilworth Inn included family members from Texas, Delaware, Ohio, and Washington. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I not only recommend the hotel but also the restaurant adjacent, La Bella Tavola. The hotel staff and the staff at La Bella Tavola helped make our stay enjoyable.
- Randy (10/5): Thank You Dilworth staff - We had a family get together in Gonzales planned over St. Patrick's day weekend in order to have a celebration of life for my Mother who passed away late last year. St. Patrick's Day was her favorite holiday. It was a planned outdoor event on Saturday but due to some inclement weather, we asked the Hotel staff if we could use their party room to have our family get together until the weather cleared. The staff was more than accommodating and made sure we had everything we needed. We cannot than them enough for their help and understanding. The Hotel itself was fabulous. The rooms were gorgeous and everything was clean and organized. We cannot than the Dilworth staff enough for their support and understanding of our situation. They went out of their way to accommodate us and we will never forget their hospitality.
- TessJ938 (10/5): Worth a Visit - Staff was helpful and friendly. Location was particularly great. Gonzales is small town downtown, restaurants, shopping, antiques, historical spots, easy parking. We had a big rooms with tall ceilings and several windows. In-building restaurant is family-firendly. Great menu and service.

Super nice when checking in and out!!! We got the two bedroom and there was so much space!! The tall ceilings and windows were beautiful and loved the size of the bathroom. Beds were so comfy!!!
- 725krystalw (10/5): History Run - Modern amenities in a vintage setting, right on the square and the heart of the action in Gonzales. Very clean and inviting, everything worked well. They even have a list of what the TV channels are! The restaurant and bar downstairs had great food and fantastic service also.

- lisalA7323LA (8/5): Quick overnight trip to Gonzales, Texas - This is a sweet little hotel in a historical building, located a downtown that appears was once a prospering town. The folks at The Dilworth Hotel welcomed us late on a Sunday evening, and as far as we could tell kept the restaurant and the front desk opened until we arrived. The rooms were clean, large and comfortable. The beds were also comfortable. The historical downtown square was festively lite up at night which gave us a welcoming feeling. My hope is that this little town continues to get new retail and more businesses so that Texans, and other tourist can enjoy the area, and learn about the important history Gonzales played in the evolution of Texas becoming a state.

- Odyssey28876522442 (10/5): Wonderful Dilworth Inn - This is a wonderfully restored old inn at the center of Gonzalez. We loved our stay, and we love the spacious room. The restaurant below the end also has delicious food and great service. The staff is very hospitable and there if you need them.

The view of the city was beautiful, the walking distance from everything, our room and bathroom were clean and comfy! I will be back for sure!

Cafe in the same building with many others close by. Gonzales is a neat little town. Our room was small but very comfortable. Only down was a very faint musty odor.
