- Luke (10/5): -
- Tanya (9/5): Beautiful views, spacious rooms and friendly staff - Brilliant location, beds spacious and warm, beds comfy and the view of the lake was beautiful. We would definitely stay here again.
Very friendly staff
- Clifford (7/5): Out of town locale - Cleanliness. Misleading regarding location. It appeared closer in to Rotorua. I would have preferred it. The hotel is rather old but the pictures were misleading regarding this. The price at the time of year (late April) was not higger than others that were much younger and better maintained.

- Paul (9/5): - Very friendly owner. We enjoyed beautiful views from our apartment and enjoyed our stay here.
- Lynne (10/5): Awesome spot and the owners are so lovely. - Beautiful location and accomodation is great
- Paula (7/5): 3 nites suited our purpose- yes we would stay again. - Pretty view, quiet and comfortable beds. Vertical blinds letting in security lighting. Lots of insects through the windows and not much airflow if windows left open.
- Yvonne (5/5): Passable for a low budget short stay. - No room service and internet was dodgy
- Jacinda (10/5): -
- Anatoly Hap Arro (9/5): -
- Aksel (7/5): -
- Lindsay (7/5): We loved it, but we struggled with the dated nature if the unit. - It was an unusual lakeside location. We were made very welcome by the Chinese owner and his "bilingual" dog. The owner had been in New Zealand for, I think, 11 years. He was proud of what he had achieved. He was very happy to chat and we felt very welcome. He offered a unit with a lake view next time. The unit was quite dated. The bathroom had everything needed but the shower was dated and very small.

- Suzanne (10/5): Quiet motel in a lovely location - Located right on the lakefront. Very quiet, lovely outlook, spacious rooms, comfortable beds with a range of pillow options, spacious parking area, friendly dog.
- Tanya (10/5): Excellent, will book there again. - All went well, service and hospitality was excellent, highly recommend, will be our main stay when we travel back again. Not taking advantage of the activity services that was recommended.
- Rachel (6/5): -
- Christian (10/5): - Great location, great manager Ken. Went out of his way to make personal connection and make sure we got the most out of our stay
- Colleen (9/5): - Location absolutely beautiful Cold showers
- Helen (10/5): Hidden gem - I like how the rooms are home like. Very quiet area. Great place to go for a walk and the shops are close by. Great view and Ken the owner was very easy going and very helpful if we needed anything. That our holiday had to end lol
- Miranda (8/5): The host was lovely and definitely made up for the downsides mentioned and made us feel very welcome - The host was very lovely and easy to talk to. The property appeared to be clean in the bathroom, kitchen and bedding. It was comfortable and quiet A big put off was the old carpet. It definitely needs to be redone as it is quite crusty and made us feel like it wasnt exactly clean in that aspect. Some of the cooking utensils also need to be replaced. Could hear the people in the room next to us quite clearly unfortunately.
- Natalya (8/5): - Amazing lake view and very quiet
- Steffen (10/5): - Die Lage ist sowas von Top, der Besitzer ist die Seele des Gesamten. Sehr zentrale Lage und doch ab vom Schuss, direkt am See.
- Melissa (10/5): - As was the same last time I stayed here amazing location nice and quiet and beautiful views and had room to park our race car trailer only one night this time wish it was longer
- Marine (8/5): Bonne adresse - L’appartement était propre. Le staff est réactif et les Check in et out sont faciles.
Ils ont un adorable chien. Les rideaux ne sont pas opaques et laissent donc entrer la lumière.
Il n’y avait que deux serviettes de bain alors que nous avons loué pour trois.
- Connor (7/5): I would come back. - View was ok, comfort privacy wifi were good. parking was confusing but we the tenants were respectful.
- Jemma (7/5): -
- Julie (4/5): Disappointed - Staff were friendly Looks very tired on the outside, could do with a refresh. Damp smell in room, rain had come under the door making carpet damp.
Whole room very outdated. Carpet needs replacing. Floor in bathroom has very stained grout. Plates in cupboard were greasy. Very small TV. Only had ceiling light, wall light or lamp would have been useful when family sleeping in same room.
- Trent (8/5): Great family stay. Ken onsite every day. So helpful and friendly. Recommend this place and if went back 💯 I’d book an - Although old had that old school homely vibe instantly. Directly across from amazing Lake. Extremely comfortable large rooms and facilities. Not a lot to list. Yeah old but that added to the experience
- Andrew (6/5): Great budget stay - Location. Simple accommodation. Clean Needs a do up
- Tui (4/5): -
- Heather (4/5): Avoid this place - Location and views were wonderful. The motel is very outdated - fixtures and fittings very outdated. Odour in the room when we arrived. This is one of those really old motels that has not been maintained and should be made to renovate when charging market rates. Very disappointed - like most adverts, it looked really nice and homely on Booking.com - a bit different when you're there
- Sara (8/5): Stay was peaceful and comfy, with the best views from our window - Location was excellent and very quiet and peaceful. Host was super friendly and helpful but also let us do our own private thing. Bed was super comfy my partner had the best sleep. We had the best view of the lake Room just needed some TLC, shower door was very hard to close. Bed was super comfy but could easily roll/move when you sat on it.
- Sadie (10/5): Great motel with lake views and walking track right in front of motel. No thorugh traffic so very qu - Dog friendly motel with large room newly refurbished and everything you need.
- Terry (7/5): Great family vacation -
- Gargi (8/5): - Lake View
- Nicole (9/5): - I love the hospitality, cleanliness and the view from the window. Along with the options to sit outside and have a drink or meal. Could have done with a few more coffee sachets.
- Kathryn (9/5): - Location was great as husband fishes across the road in lake. Felt safe and secure being alone in the evening. Curtains in unit needed to be closed for privacy as windows cover the whole front of unit

- Joanna (10/5): The best motel in town! - It was the 2nd time we stayed in a week and this time Ken put us in the signature room No 8 with the spectacular view of the lake!💚 Nothing
- Kristyn (8/5): Great for what we required on our short stay - Location was beautiful easy to find and comfortable stay owner very friendly and caring of his visitors. Shower was very small and laundry was coin operated which is not convenient in today’s cashless society.
- Katarina (3/5): Not good - Lots of room As soon as you opened the door there was a strong damp mould smell that did not go away.
- Sharon (8/5): Terrific location with wonderful scenery easy walk to town - Location is fabulous. Ken is very attentive and pleasant host. N/A
- Ruth (8/5): -
- Sanjeeb Kumar (8/5): Good value for money. - Excellent location.
Very friendly staff.
Good size of rooms. Old appliances.
- Karen (10/5): A great get away - I always stay here wen I need to get away , it’s my favourite place, friendly helpful staff always available to help with anything

- Keerthi (9/5): -
- Des (7/5): -
- Amadasun (8/5): -
- melissa (10/5): - amazing hospitality family friendly
- Deborah (4/5): Not again. - Location Tired, very noisy fridge. when wind blew - sounded like cables banging on the roof. Supposedly for up to five people but only cutlery for three
- Satherley (3/5): A forgettable experience. - Not much to be honest. Old gross carpet, grotty shower with standing water, don't service rooms daily, paying for something more than basic when it falls well below basic.
- Janet (9/5): Lovely hosts, good location, loved using the kayaks - Serene location Kitchen was basic - but functional
- Lana (7/5): Pleasant and functional - The owner was very friendly and helpful and communication on the day was great. The location suited me as it was close to where I was going to work the next day. Would have been good to have windows with security stays and good fly screens for air flow at night. The motel is very old and even though it is meticulously clean, I feel it could do with some upgrades, for $168/night.
- ddunlea (10/5): - Location was beautiful. It was great to enjoy breakfast looking at stunning views of the lake. Room had everything we needed, shower was great too. The staff here are so helpful and kind. Cody is the best boy too!
- Melanie (7/5): - Super accueil, hôte serviable, prévenant et accueillant! L’isolation phonique
- O'Brien (10/5): Great stay and would recommend, value for money - Great location near the lake, quiet and comfortable. Lovely set up with a great host

Maoe everything so easy What's not to like?
- Michael (2/5): not good - nothing location was good
- carolynne (3/5): -
- Jennifer (5/5): -
- Je Hyun (10/5): Wonderful lodging. - Clean is my first selection to find the lodge. Very very good and clean what I want. Also easy to find the restaurant near here. And easy to find the gas station as good price. Nothing because compare to lodging fare.
- Maren (10/5): - Blick auf den See, Sonnenaufgang vom Bett, ruhige Lage, netter Kontakt
- Christine (9/5): -
- Chris (6/5): - Good quiet location. Some updating wouldn't be a bad idea.
The photo's must be quite old.
- Terry (7/5): Quiet, comfortable lakeside spot in Ngongotaha, close to Rotorua attractions but without the smell! - We were given a studio directly across from the Lake with a good-sized deck and a view of the lake. The studio was spacious and airy, and clean, with good range of equipment for this price bracket. It is a good location with pleasant lake front walk (dodging the occasional cloud of gnats). There was no smell of Sulphur but it was less than 30 mins to all the attractions of Rotorua, even those to the south. Ngongotaha has a range of shops and casual eateries though we didn't visit them. It was quiet with no road noise. It is a rather tired 1960's place which could do with a spruce-up. The deck could be water blasted and a few more plantings would make it look prettier. Good for fishermen and unfussy that way. The couch in our studio was a bit hard, but everything else was good. We used our chilly bin for a coffee table. I asked the proprietor to clean the ranch slider window but he only took the cobwebs off and didn't wash the dust off so the view was not as good as it could have been.
- Elizabeth (7/5): Quiet place to stay - Nice quiet place to stay. Cheap price for 2 bedrooms and a kitchen. Twenty minute drive into Rotorua town. Place is old, but owner is gradually renovating.
- Dot (7/5): Reasonable value for a 1 night stay. - Quiet location. Good view across the lake. Light in the room at night from blinds not blocking out.
- Jismy (6/5): -
- smiler (9/5): - Great welcoming! Room was very nice with beautiful view. Bed very comfy. Had all we needed. Host was awesome and openly expressed his interest in Te Reo maori which was great! Ka mau te wehi 😁 highly recommend
- Jason (10/5): - Staff is very helpful.
It is lakefront motel with good lake view and shops nearby.
Room is very clean and beds are comfortable. Nothing
- Shanu (8/5): Good experience! - About the lake front view and the quietness The interiors look a bit old and dint give us the as feeling as the photos shown in the ad
- Kevin (8/5): -
- Liane (5/5): - Great place to sleep over.
- Moana (8/5): -
- Justin (9/5): Great location, great host. If we head back to Rotorua we will stay again - The room was clean. The location was picturesque and quiet. Ken was a great host who wanted nothing more than to ensure we were happy. If you’re a dog lover Cody will take as many pats and belly rubs as you’re will to give The rooms are dated but are super clean.
- Yvette (7/5): A great stop over for bikepackers - We had an incredibly warm welcome from the staff. Nothing was too much trouble. We arrived on bikes, and they were very accommodating and helpful.
There was a very convenient bus service into Rotorua from just around the corner. The motel is quite old, having been built in the 70s,
so things aren't shinty and new anymore, but it's clean and comfortable.
- Nicole (10/5): - The room was clean, tidy, and fresh. I had a lovely view of the lake.
- Fiona (9/5): -
- Anette (8/5): - Dejlig beliggenhed.
Imødekommende vært.
- Natasha (10/5): Worth what you pay for, clean and tidy! - It was perfect, we needed a place to stay while watching my younger sister play in a netball tournament and it was exactly what we were looking for, enough space for us 4!
- Stephanie (10/5): - Friendly staff 10-10 The rain 😂
