722lizak (6/5): Cabinet on top of the coffee bar that serve no purpose. - Good location, staffs are friendly. The down fall of this hotel is the coffee bar, there’s a cabinet on top that I keep getting my head knocked on it. There’s a sign, but when in the mids of making coffee, won’t realize there’s a cabinet there that serve no purpose to have the cabinet on top.

The location is excellent – so convenient for getting around Sydney by train or light rail. Check-in was quick and easy, which made everything stress-free. The room is spacious and the king size bed is really comfortable with good pillows. Plenty of seating and a small table.Good instant coffee and biscuits. Only thing id like changed is the cups as they are too hard to grip .
Maree (4/5): - We arrived at 4pm after the short walk from the station with a lot of luggage in pouring rain. We could not get into the foyer. We called the intercom twice. No answer. Nowhere to stand out of the rain!! Luckily a guest came by and let us into the foyer out of the rain! We then had to make a phone call to find someone to allot us our room. No be one at reception. At 4pm! This is terrible in my view. The hotel was ok. Decent sized rooms but will not stay here again when you can't even check in without dramas!!!

ANTHONY (6/5): - We chose this hotel for its proximity to Central Station as we had an early morning departure. Room was disappointing in that it felt and looked unclean. Wife is asthmatic and she really suffered from the dust. Lighting was poor and black tiles in the bathroom made it nearly impossible to see anything clearly. Painted concrete floor had a very industrial feel and made the room quite cold at night. Bed was comfortable, extra blanket was badly stained.

Verified traveler (6/5): Ok for an overnight trip - Have to dial an intercom to get in. Intercom wasn’t answered multiple times and had to ring the number then wait 5min to be let in. Check in staff were friendly. Room was comfortable for the night but probably not ideal for a longer stay. Walls are very thin and sounds carried from the next room as if they were in my own room. Location is close to amenities like public transport, food, convenience stores etc.

Ann (10/5): Spectacular Sydney - We were in Sydney to go to a musical at Darling Harbour. The Valentine was located near the light rail line making the theatre very accessible to us. The area around the motel was vibrant with lots of eateries and close to public transport.

It seems like a mom and pop hotel so some services you expect at bigger chains might be tougher to satisfy. We couldn't get inside the building at 2 PM one day because the front door was locked and no one was manning the front desk. Also had a tough time getting ahold of someone for extra blankets and bathroom supplies. We eventually reached someone but it took about one hour.

Extremely convenient, the train, light rail, buses, and metro are a hop and a skip away, and there are lots of food and retail vendors nearby. Unless there is a specific reason, this will be my first choice when I visit Sydney again.

Georgean (10/5): Reasonable hotel in Sydney. - Hidden gem on George. If you like walking, you can walk to many places, including circular quay, otherwise it’s near a tram station. The rooms are efficient, clean, great bathroom with a walk-in shower. It’s a great find for the price.

Street noise noisy early hours on a Saturday night but week days good. No opening windows but there's good aircon. Lots of draw and hanging space. Close to Haymarket light rail and Central Station. Perfect location for a city break.

If you want to check in early or just drop off your luggage, the front door is locked and they have a note on the front door with a number to call to gain access. As a international customer, we only had text and email access so found this system very ineffective.
