- Sally (6/5): There were some good things about the property but disappointed and we would not amstay there again. - Great Pembrokeshire location. On a fairly busy road but quiet garden at the back of the hotel when not in use for functions The bedrooms are dated but well maintained and clean. Staff were very friendly.
We had to pay extra for breakfast as this was not included in our booking.com booking. The breakfast was very disappointing and at £19.50 per person per night it fell well short of expectations.

- Tim (8/5): Good location for ferry, overpriced food option - Very late check in, gone midnight as ferry from Ireland was delayed. Young lad on reception when I arrived offered to carry my bag to my room. Very large room and very clean. Paid £75 for room for night, they wanted £19.50 for breakfast, which is a bit steep after I arrived gone midnight and left at 9am. I cheaper breakfast options may have tempted me.
- Mark (10/5): -
- Hearn (8/5): - Everything Nothing

- John (7/5): The hotel is nice…. Shame no nighttime services after 10.40pm - Room was clean, well equipped and very warm… We as a small group purposely returned for a night cap before 11pm to find the bar area in darkness and closed up. The staff all eating in the office. Was told no services available even for residents. “That’s the way it is “ ? The girl was unhelpful and very dismissive. Shame ! The daytime reception staff were lovely!
- Sean (10/5): -
- Lianne (5/5): - Pleasant.bar area. Staff uninterested and not friendly. Room smelt. Accepted our restaurant booking when we booked at their suggestion
Then informed us we could only have the set valentine menu at £68 each. We ate elsewhere

- Richard (10/5): A brief stay for work but a fantastic place if back in the area would definitely stay again - Breakfast was lovely a good selection of fruit etc cereal range was limited hot breakfast was delicious There wasn't anything I was unhappy with
- Tracy (7/5): NO EV CHARGING ON SITE - despite Booking.com stating there is! BEWARE! - My issue is with Booking.com as well as the hotel. It is stated that there is EV charging at the hotel. This IS NOT the case. We arrived with very little power left, expecting to do a full charge overnight. This was a HUGE problem for us. This needs to be sorted for other guests
- Olivia (10/5): -
- Tricia (10/5): Loved our stay (only one night) but would definitely stay again. - Comfortable, beautiful hotel. Right location for us. Nil
- Josh (8/5): -
- Boyd (9/5): This was a short 'Respite' break for me. It provided me with comfort, rest, peace and quiet. - I've been going to have meals at Allt-yr-afon for 30 years or more and live locally. The staff and the food have always been great. This is the first time I'd used it as an hotel. I had a lovely stay - the room was everything I hopes it would be. Nothing at all - I'd recommend it as an hotel to others.
- CLIVE (8/5): - Excellent breakfast with good, friendly service. Room quite cold on arrival, electric heater in room.
- Simon (8/5): perfect - staff were nice and helpful
- David (8/5): Reasonably priced room at a nice hotel in a decent location. - Room only so cannot comment on breakfast but had dinner at the hotel and the food was very good. Staff friendly and very helpful. Good restaurant and bar, nice outside seating area. Room was comfortable and clean but window was above and behind the bed so could not really be seen out of.
- Jonathan (9/5): - dinner amazing. staff all supa helpful

- Susan (10/5): -
- Alexandra (8/5): - Lovely rooms
- Eirian (9/5): Very enjoyable - Lovely everything. Pleasant bar, quality breakfast Bed linen could be lighter, hot during the night although I put the heating on low.
Would have liked to use the sauna. Restrictive times and cost for facial
- Louise (8/5): -
- George (8/5): A nice old-fashioned country hotel with friendly staff and very good food - A nice old-fashioned country hotel with friendly staff and very good food. The decoration was a little tired.
- Carrie (10/5): Beautiful place wonderful staff - Everything Nothing
- Rachel (10/5): A great location to access Pembrokeshire attractions or for a business stay over. I would highly recommend this hote - Lovely hotel and location. The staff were great. I had a lovely stay and a wonderful breakfast. I will visit again. Nothing to add here.
- Rachel (10/5): -
- James (9/5): -
- Pojo (10/5): -
- William (8/5): -
- Richard (8/5): No problems - Clean, good location and value Bathroom dated
- Kate (10/5): -
- Rosemary (9/5): Ideal location with brilliant service. - Lovely, quiet location but convenient for the main road. Comfortable room with bathrobes, toiletries and even a treat bag for our dog. All staff were attentive, helpful and friendly. Unfortunately the weather was freezing and it had been snowing leaving the car park frozen solid. This made it extremely treacherous under foot - we were struggling to get from the entrance to our car without slipping/falling.
- Nicola (10/5): -
- Karen (8/5): - Good was excellent, great location and very friendly staff.
- Davies (9/5): - Lovely staff, restaurant was delicious
- Paula (9/5): Wonderful full of character hotel. - Very friendly staff in this really lovely hotel...I was made to feel very welcome.e along with my small dog who was made a great fuss of. Would highly recommend.
- Sarah (10/5): -
- Ronan (8/5): Nice place - Location and rooms were nice Breakfast was expensive
- Ciara (10/5): Great Hotel - Lovely little hotel. Really clean and cosy rooms, staff were all very friendly and welcome. Perfect location for ferry port. Food was amazing.
- James (10/5): Jimmy - Everything about the Hotel, me and my wife have stayed here previously snd it was excellent then. Nothing to dislike
- Samy (10/5): Beautiful place, very clean facilities. The bed is comfortable . The staff are very polite, nice and helpful. - Very welcoming and helpful staff. Checking in any time late. Nothing
- Eirwen (9/5): -
- Katy (8/5): Great hotel, friendly staff in a convenient location. - Location, friendliness of staff particularly night porter and breakfast team. Ample parking. Pre booking queries were responded to efficiently. I was a late arrival and there was no problem with that. Would have loved to have stayed longer as the spa facilities have great reviews and given quality of breakfast I would imagine that evening meals are good. I was only at the hotel overnight and, in that time did not identify anything I didn’t like. Breakfast was £17.50 on top of room rate which I would say was worth it for the quality and options of cooked breakfast but not so much on continental/fruit but really that’s just me looking for something to feedback back on.
- andrew (8/5): -
- Billy (7/5): Lovely helpful people but hotel is very dated and smelt a bit musty in the communal hallways - Staff were lovely and helpful Bed that was brought in for my son was comfy but very old mattress and didn't look very clean
- Iwan (4/5): - If you've filtered your search for a Spa there's either The Cliff Hotel in Cardigan (really good Spa) or this one! Basically a jacuzzi and one of those barrel saunas in the yard! We arrived at 6pm to be told 1. that the spa was closed and 2. it would cost £20 each on top of the £140 paid for a one night's stay. They also had a christmas tree in the foyer in the first week of October! It's a perfectly functional hotel but when is a spa really a spa? When is christmas really christmas?
- Necrea6758 (10/5): Great location for the ferry crossing. - The staff, the rooms, the food. All were good. We had a snack then later had dinner and breakfast as well. Check in and check out were smooth and friendly.
- mandy (10/5): - The hot tub and the food Having to pay extra for the hot tub and breakfast was not included.
- LOIC (9/5): - Une étape très agréable avec une chambre à la décoration plutôt surprenante et exubérante mais très jolie.
Diner et petit déjeuner copieux.
- Carol (8/5): Pure pleasure - The whole place spoke of tranquility, and we certainly needed that after our long journey
- Emma (8/5): A comfortable stay, conveniently placed for the Fishguard ferry. - The hotel is very convenient for going to and from the Fishguard ferry. I could check in around midnight. They accept dogs, although will charge for this on checkout. The stairs up to the door of the bedroom were not notified in advance, and could have presented a problem for some guests.
I feel the first impression of the hotel on arrival into the reception area is disappointing: dated, utilitarian, inelegant. So much more could be made of this high-ceilinged, potentially lovely, space.
- Braddick (9/5): -
- Norma (8/5): - The Welcome . The staff were very pleasant and helpful My room had a small window situated at ceiling height . I struggled to open it & sought help . The offer of a different room was made, but I declined as I was really tired after my long journey . All was fine once the window was open . I only stayed one night.
- Wiebke (8/5): Great location and super friendly staff - Super friendly staff who made it possible for us to check in late in the night as we came by evening ferry from Ireland. Convenient location directly at road from Fishguard. Safe parking at the hotel. Comforatble rooms with kettle and tea/coffee. Nothing
- Kerstin (6/5): Ok aber etwas alt - Der Spa Bereich ist sehr schön und nettes Personal. Die Wände in den Zimmern sind schmuddelig, alles etwas renovierungsbedürftig.
- Norah (10/5): A lovely restful break in our journey - It’s very convenient to the ferry terminal. You can rest before your onward journey. Rooms are comfortable. Breakfast is outstanding. The staff are excellent. Our ferry crossing was delayed but we were greeted by the night staff with a friendly welcome. It’s our second time to stay and we will definitely be back. Nothing
- David (10/5): -
- Marina Ruth (8/5): Restaurant staff and food amazing. No electric car points and no availability in spa despite booking for this reason. - Beautiful property
Room a little dated
Restaurant amazing - food excellent
Staff in bar and restaurant excellent Advertised as having electric charging points but none there and have not been for a while
Advertised as having a spa hence why it was booked. No priority for residents and booked way in advance so residents unlikely ever to be able to use spa facilities on a spontaneous visit.
- ROSEMARY (8/5): Excellent - Excellent location and service. Enjoyed a lovely meal and a restful night Will certainly come again Only stairs !!
- David (10/5): Very comfortable beds. The staff are superb -
- Charlotte (7/5): - Heel lekker ontbijt /
- Cynan (6/5): Nice place but dated - Comfy bed, nice size room. Parking was very convenient. Staff very friendly. Room 20. Dated bathroom, cold shower after 5 minutes, floor boards above need looking at (incredible amount of creaking), guests don’t have any priority with booking the spa, not available all weekend. Difficult to get any service at the bar.
- Carol (10/5): Wolfscastle country hotel the place where exceptional isn't a word it's a way of life - Excellent location
Staff where amazing
Food was exceptionall Nothing
- Laura (7/5): -
- Alexandra (9/5): Superb food. Great stay. - Good room, with everything I needed. Comfortable beds. Staff were extremely kind and thoughtful, asking me about my son who was in hospital at the time. I had room service and the food was exceptional. I would make the 2.5h trip just for the tempura prawns. Nothing
- Danny (9/5): -
- Jean (9/5): Excellent food -
- Eric (10/5): - Établissement super bien géré , personnel adorable et serviable . Rien
- Geraldine (4/5): Wolfscastle - The hotel gave off an initial air of excitement, reception was clean and pleasantly presented.
The staff greeted us and we went to our nicely decorated room.
The room looked clean, had the normal things you would expect - iron, towels (nice quality), limited basic toiletries and tea making facilities.
The dining area was light, airy and clean.
A nice touch that an upright fan had been provided to keep the room cool.
The food did sound nice.
The location on a main road between the ferry route to Ireland, maybe quite handy for some people. The room had dust on the top of the wardrobe, hairs and old bits of towel in the bathroom.
Room was over bar/dining area, so late night noise might be annoying for some.
The window paintwork was black in places and showed lack of maintenance.
The staff had no problem saying no, no dairy free butter, no gluten free bread, no sorbet, they were not rude, and not their fault but concerning after prior notification and a phone call of dietary requirements.
Food was not what it was rated to be, expensive, some lack of care, as the breakfast was running in oil (think it was deep fried), overcooked and cold. Main meal was not up to expectations and as already stated was expensive for the quality and content provided.
Because it is on the main A40, the road is quite noisy, early morning traffic, constant Police and Ambulance sirens during the day, may not suit everyone.
- Thomas (9/5): Grundsolide und sehr ansprechend. - Grundsolide und sehr ansprechend. Es war ein sehr angenehmer Auffenthalt.
