Guest Reviews
- Myriam (10/5): A complete relaxation - location and staff nothing
- Companion32100614721 (10/5): Hotel estelar - An experience that was excellent.
- Juan Carlos (8/5): -

- Rumaldo (8/5): - I have stayed in this hotel's apartments before and have always found them to be very nice and adequate for my family, with all the amenities and comforts. However, during this stay we experienced problems with the hot water for washing and showering. It was sporadically available and when available was hard to control the temperature, extremely inconvenient. We did alert the staff to the problem, and they attempted repairs but to no avail. We managed to work through the discomfort, otherwise the stay was nice.
- John (10/5): - The hotel was clean and spectacular, the staff was so helpful and catering such as Frank and Juan Luis at the front desk, restaurant staff Jhon made sure breakfast was a great experience. The room was clean ans the bed very comfortable but the view over looking the city was amazing!
- Arianna (10/5): - Staff is very helpful
- Melissa (10/5): - The waiters were all very special.
- Dayra (6/5): - The hotel was good but I reserved an apartment and they gave two separate rooms
At the front desk they told me the roof was falling then I called a supervisor and she told me she apologize but is people still there
and next day I have to call them couple times so they can move us to the apartment that we can really enjoy because the check out was next day and I even try to add days and they said I can’t
But at the beginning they said they would recompense us for the inconvenience, something that doesn’t happen
- Ana (8/5): - The hotel is well located and the service is fantastic, the breakfast was delicious.
The rooms, although clean, need a little bit of work
- Alicia (10/5): Barranquilla, Alto Prado - Great location. Quiet and beautiful neighborhood with a great view of the city. The beds were very comfortable. Working air conditioners. Good water pressure. The staff were very attentive and hospitable.
- Juliana (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, good room
- Ronald (10/5): Great experience - It was great overall, really like it and my daughters enjoyed it a lot .
- Bryan (8/5): - I recently stayed at Hotel Estelar, and while it is a nice hotel, it is evident that it’s in need of some remodeling to bring it up to date. Our apartment was a bit dusty, giving the impression that it hadn’t been used or properly prepared in some time.
That said, the breakfast buffet was excellent and stood out compared to other hotels in the area. The variety and quality of the food were impressive and definitely a highlight of the stay.
Overall, the experience was decent, but I expected more from a hotel of this caliber. With some updates and attention to detail in cleanliness, it could truly live up to its potential.
- Alexander (2/5): - Once checked in gave us the wrong room ( no junior apt/balcony) they assigned us a different room which was beautiful. 2 days later manager comes and asked us to move next door because repairs upstairs and promised us dinner and the exact room. He told us to pack and the staff will move out luggage. Explained it was my bday next day so we had to be moved by 1 pm due to dinner reservations. Next day came and no one shows up. Called and complained and they even suggested to unpack so I can get ready. Finally moved my own stuff to find a smaller room, dirty with blood stains on the courtains furniture looking like a cheap motel room. Went to complaint with the general manager and all he did was replace the courtains and give us a new fridge and an extra room ( kinda like a Vegas room with the door in the middle ) which I won’t even use. Staff came to the room and had my girlfriend in tears because she refused to sleep in that nasty room but they didn’t care. Next day she went down to complaint and gave us another room so they put us in the initial room without balcony. They promised a refund but just like the dinner never happened. On top of that a Garmin watch worth 400 dollars disappeared from the room. After inquiring they never gave us a response kind of forget you. They called this a 5 stars and I think it merely makes 2 and half. I filed a complaint with corporate because this was unacceptable to the maximum meaning of the word. They don’t care period.
- mike (10/5): - Great hotel with great amenities
- Tanmay (10/5): Clean, safe and reasonably priced - Modern facilities, very clean and staff were helpful. Pricing was reasonable given the 5 star quality of stay. Powerful ACs in room to keep cool. Breakfast was solid as well.
- Patricia (10/5): - This hotel needs to consider pet friendly stays, it’s very expensive, I have been in different hotel in Barranquilla way better than Estelar hotel and for my dog stayed it’s way cheaper. Estelar wants to charge ciento veinte mil pesos x Dog. They should be report for that.
- Omar De jesus (10/5): - Fantastic experience
- Ruby (10/5): - Excelente!!!
- Milene (10/5): - Is all ways great to stay here is my third time staying at this hotel.
- Martin (9/5): Great choice, highly recommendable, value for money. - Very nice apartments, in the heart of Barranquilla business and recreational area, very well furnished and comfortable. Highly recommended Almos nothing....I am not fun of heights and the apartment was on the 15 floor...!! but have enjoyed the stay
- Sotter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nailet M (10/5): - Front desk were friendly and helpful.
Breakfast buffet was great! Plenty diff options to choose from
- Yaneys (10/5): - Love this place . Everything was amazing . The staff went above and beyond to make us feel good.
- Paola (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (9/5): Superb - The rooms are very spacious and the breakfast is large with a great variety Nothing
- James (2/5): - Lied and stole
- Lea (10/5): an excellent hotel in Barranquilla - the staff is friendly and cordial. They will do their best to assist their customers. elegant, big rooms and clean
- Jeannot (5/5): If it weren’t for the cockroaches it would have been wonderful - I loved the location, it’s a nice neighbourhood of Barranquilla and the pool and breakfast were lovely. I booked an apartment and upon arrival, went across to the supermarket to stock up. After turning the lights off however I spotted 3 cockroaches within 30 min of turning the lights off (bathroom and kitchen). I have a phobia so the next day they offered to move me to a different part of the hotel, however i spent a sleepless night, and threw a whole food shop away since the new room didn’t have facilities.
- Laura (9/5): Superb -
- Lenton (10/5): - I thought the property was an excellent value. It was the best buyer for me as to accommodations that I had in Colombia.
As to price, don't tell them, but I think the price is a bit low for the accommodations offerred.
- SILVANA (8/5): - La vista hermosa del apartamento, la cama muy buena al igual que las almohadas, lo unico que el mueble del lavamanos esta muy desgastado. La presion del agual del shower muy bien.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice Hotel - nice hotel. very helpful and kind staff. very good restaurant.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - EVERYTHINH
- Patricia (10/5): - Confortable apartment, clean, and private. The personnel were extremely friendly and curteous!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Apartments are good quality. Good ambience. - As this is a slightly older estelar property the beds are mostly very firm. The apartments are large and comfortable otherwise. The lighting is warm and inviting. The staff are exceptional in their welcome and warmth as well. Good quality for the price.
- J (10/5): Very good - It was so nice that we stayed one more day
- MauriceM152 (6/5): Agua fria y vecino loco. - Spent five nights there, only on fourth morning I got warm water.
Room is half a suite, the other half has a kitchen, they are separated by a locked double door that is unlocked for those who rent full suite.
Each evening a crazy neighbor cooked stinky food, smell was close to crude oil burning, it passed through the doors.
That same crazy neighbor had each evening loud phone calls: I heard everything he said, I was so angry I repeated exactly what he said so that he understand.
Calling the reception didn't solve anything.
- coach4life2008 (10/5): 5 ⭐️ for Estelar Hotel - From top to bottom this is the best hotel in the city. I have been to many and no place can top this one. They have a new manager for the past couple of months and he has really lead by example, it shows in the staff and it also shows in the amount of guest staying there. Completely full hotel all week. Not very often do you see the general manager of a five-star hotel cleaning tables during a busy breakfast. But as I said, this man leads by example. I noticed the staff is very happy and friendly as usual but they have a new hop in their step because they seem to be happy to work there. Not sure many employees work in the hotel but you can tell that they are all like family. They all get along and work as team. Great place to stay, business and pleasure.
- ggoodwin12 (10/5): Excellant Hotel - This was an excellent hotel to stay in. I enjoyed my time there. The staff was very helpful and polite and the service was excellent. The breakfast was amazing as was the lunch and dinner in the restaurant. Room service was also very good. This hotel did not disappoint. I will be staying again on my next trip to Colombia. Highly recommend.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The only nice thing was the service at breakfast and beauty salon . The rest was poor, especially the way people treated me, no helpful or nice
- Verified traveler (2/5): - the most disrespectfull careless hotel starting from this is a barely 3 star hotel not a 5 stars as they advertise it.
the front desk managers impolite and not suitable not even for a 3 stars they left our suitcases against the wall instead of sending them to our room.
i rented an apartment with a balcony and paid for it but they dicided that they don't have any available....
the room was not smeling good it smells like gas or old nasty and unplaisant ...
every time we would order food they would request from us to pay it cause their system was as difunctional as their poor staff.we decided to leave one day earlier cause of this unplaisant experience at the check out they pretended that the data credit csrd machine is not workingfor us to pay cash with an exchange of 2200pesos per dollar instead of 3280pesos por dollars .....they are so bad that i would not recomend to anyone.
- Voyager61480 (10/5): Excellent Property! - Great service and friendly staff! It is located in a fantastic location with several restaurants and the zoo nearby. The balcony view was superb. Take advantage of the continental breakfast they offer.
- Martha (8/5): In general good - In general good, but the guy that was responsible to maintain the mini bar got into my room while I was there, of course the hotel apologized but they need to be more careful
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It’s central, accessible, had good amenities. Wish they added a TV to the sitting area
- Gabsdad (6/5): 3 star visit - As I have visited this hotel more than 20 times since it is new I can say that I have seen the diminish in maintenance in my recent state. Bathroom sink the water did not go down very good, very slow. The deadbolt on the door did not lock properly, the refrigerator did not cool in the bottom level and had to be replaced during my stay, too many employees ringing doorbell asking if laundry service or mini bar service was needed, starting at 8:00 am, jacuzzi has not worked for one reason or other in my last 3 visits, one morning the alarm clock was buzzing in the adjacent apartment starting at 6:30 am and until I called front desk because I knew if was a vacant apartment, Housekeeping should unplug the alarm clocks in the rooms when they are vacant just in case the alarm is set for the next day when nobody is in the room and it wakes up the neighbors, the soundproofing is not good in the apartments because of the pass-through doors. Housekeeping and maintenance really need to be trained better to pay attention to details. On one of my days they forgot to put towels in the room after cleaning. Now the good news, bellboys and front desk service is always exceptional as well as the restaurant. Check in and check out is very quick and efficient. Also the common areas of the hotel including the rest rooms on the first floor and on the second floor near the restaurant are always very clean and in order. I think it would be good advice if the general manager walked around the hotel and looked at the maintenance issues throughout, paint peeling on the walls and ceilings, water stains, lightbulbs that have been out for days, even a few floor tiles that have come loose that I have noticed. I feel there is a lack of supervision throughout maintenance and housekeeping in the apartments.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Avoid room 1705A or any room building that faced to main street. There is one of biggest open air discos in Barranquilla, wich means that is absolutely not possible to sleep until 4am in weekends! Guaranteed!
- Andrew (8/5): - Place was very good value and we enjoyed our stay in the building, including the breakfast. The staff were very good and attentive. We were helped with our things to the room by Wilbur, who spoke very good english and was a pleasure to talk to.
The only thing strange was that the Jacuzzi was not a hot tub, and the water was not high enough, and the jets were not that strong.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Pretty good experience. Staff was great and helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location. The free breakfast was phenomenal! Loved it!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I had
problems with extra charges for additional person and breakfast ...even though my reservation include be very afrefull with that
- Verified traveler (10/5): amaizing - It was amazing to stay at this hotel, the staff is very courteous.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - I especially booked this property for the outdoor jacuzzi but it was empty and not working. The one thing I was looking forward to!
- craig (6/5): Ok, but there are better hotels in Barranquilla. - This place isn’t 5 star and in my opinion it isn’t even 4 star. The apartment was big and spacious but the bed was hard and uncomfortable and the vanity unit in the bathroom looked like it had been left out in the rain, the windows in the room are not sealed properly either and it was quite a windy night so the whistling wind was pretty annoying. The food in the restaurant was decent enough but expensive for Barranquilla. The breakfast was great though so not all bad!!
- FELIX I (8/5): - .
- Edward (10/5): Great value and location - The hotel is located in a very safe quiet area close to shopping and dining. I was in Barranquilla for Carnival so that was a short taxi ride away but taxis were readily available at the hotel. They offered to charge your room for taxi service to make things easier. Breakfast was very good. The pool was nice. The Wifi signal was very good. The staff was very accommodating and when I needed to add a friend to my reservation there was very little issues minus a small additional fee. Highly recommended.
- joseph (10/5): Great hotel in the middle of the city - I loved the hotel. I don't speak a word of Spanish so the fact I was able to communicate with most of the hotel staff was a great relief. Plenty of nice restaurants and bars within walking distance, nice pool in the building and a really nice restaurant as well. Also got a massage.. I highly recommend
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel in nice part of town. - Was really impressed with this hotel. Great facility and even better service. And a special thanks to Wilder for getting us the perfect tickets to Carnaval. Muchas gracias!
- Mario (8/5):
Great and convenient hotel close to many amenitie - Breakfast was great. Their menu includes many of the typical Colombian goodies like yucca frita, calentado, caribañolas, arepa de huevo, empanadas, etc. Restaurant service was excellent. The personnel was really helpful and did their best to please us in every occasion. Rooms were great and spacious. The only problem was with the card keys for the room, which at a few times did not work, so we could not open the apartment door because they were without charge. Of course, we would get new cards from the front desk and problem solved. In spite of this I wouldn't hesitate to go back on a next visit to Barranquilla.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Hotel is in an excellent location in the best part of Medellin; walking distance to malls and restaurants.
- Javier (8/5): - Great and pleasing . Staff was great and very helpful.
- mark (8/5): Great hotel, great location - The apartment is spacous, clean, comfy. The staff are all amazing. The 2 bellhops are a huge addition...Wilder and Jorge, both fluent in English, very helpful, good suggestions. Rely on them! Some maintenance issues....my door key card....on arrival the door lock had no battery...took 20 minutes to sort out, and the key card kept failing throughout my stay, annoying. My safe also had problems, took a day to resolve. Water in the room only ever became warm, not hot, despite 2 complaints. On the last of 8 nights, this issue was resolved.
- GIO (10/5): EXCELLENT HOTEL FOR THE PRICE AND LOCATION - EXCELLENT LOCATION, CLEAN, GREAT BREAKFAST GOOD PARKING
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent facility and service! Will definitely recommed to all!
- Mikko (4/5): Just an ok hotel - Stayed for 3 nights. Hard bed, room needed major upgrades in the ceiling no air condition in hallways . However nice professional staff. Avoid olivo restaurant . Horrible food. I spenf over 300,000 and was left hungry. Staff
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great Stay - Breakfast was perfect!
- Emily (10/5): The Best! - Wonderful hotel. Best in Barranquilla
- Gaby (4/5): It didn´t worth the money - The room 2103 was very noisy. It´s in the last floor and there was a terrible vibration of a motor just above our heads. The room didn´t have hot water, the sink was blocked and the only amenities that they have are soap and shampoo. This hotel is too expensive for U$154 (like 450.000 colombian pesos).
- Verified traveler (10/5): - good location, easy to get around, excellent staff
- Renz (10/5): Great experience! - Stayed here for more than a week and it was truly comforting. The rooms are spacious and clean. Daily housekeeping and concierge were very kind and attentive. The gym and pool were also great.
The only negative I can think of are the card keys for entering the room. They had to be exchanged a number of times due to the card's "sensitivity" when placed in your pockets or near electronic equipment.
- Miguel (10/5): - Good breakfast, Great location
