Guest Reviews
- OnAir48844613073 (10/5): Very helpful - Great welcome from the owner. Insured me my motorcycle would be well looked after. Told me where to go for evening meal. Next morning breakfast was wonderful. He asked me were I was traveling next I told him fez . He asked for the booking and he said he would ring them to check if they have private parking . So he rang there was no booking for me and they where fully booked . I had 10 nights accomodation in different hotels all booked through Aries Moto tours Málaga. He rang every hotel and all had been cancelled by Andrea Romagnolo the owner over a dispute I had with his maps and pin code on a Chinese smart phone he rents with the 10 day tour. Avoid Aries Moto tours . So thanks to hotel Al khalifa for helping me and saving me more wasted time due to Aries ripoff tours .
- matteobO1782AF (10/5): The best in town - Real good experience on Chaouen! The hotel Is in The best position, near The Medina (5 min walk) and near The parking. The room was wide and clean, with an Amazing view of The city. The owners are really kind and will help you in whatever Need you May have. The breakfast was typical One, good food and drinks, The tea was amazing!!! Hope to come back One day!!
- Tomtheadder (10/5): Great nights stop on our motorbike tour - Great hotel in a perfect spot . We were on a motorbike tour of Morocco and stayed at this lovely hotel .spotlessly clean and well run. Upon our arrival we were met by our host who welcomed us with a well earned refreshment . We parked our bikes in the secure free parking in front of the hotel . In the evening we sat on the roof terrace to watch the sunset over the mountain opposite . We were near the centre of town so had our evening meal after a short walk there to a restaurant recommended by the hotel , a great recommendation I must add.
We had a comfortable night in our room and the facilities were good.
The breakfast was first class and suitably fortified and rested we continued our journey ,
Remembering this lovely hotel .
- petertU3802XM (10/5): Perfect location to Explore - I stayed at Hotel Al Khalifa as a Solo Motorcyclist and apart from a fantastic location to explore the Blue City, Al Khalifa also has off road secure parking, my room was large , comfortable with a great view over the Blue City & wow the breakfast was incredible
- bluespyderryder (10/5): Motorbike parking, comfortable rooms, fantastic host. - What a fantastic place!
The owner made us feel very at home and allowed us to park our motorbikes in his private driveway.
Hotel is a short (hilly) walk down into the main town and a long (hilly) walk back!
The room was more than adequate and comfortable and quiet.
The owner told us of places to visit and was very informative. They run yoga and medication type classes as well.
Breakfast was brilliant and more than adequate.
We wanted to leave a tip but the owner asked us to donate it to his cat charity instead, which we also topped up with some shop bought cat food from across the road! Fear not, we didn't see any cats in the hotel.
- 22000FT (8/5): Nice option in Chefchaouen - Hotel located outside the Medina about 10 minute walk. Parking is close by.. Rooms are small but adequate. Wi-Fi is good. There is terrace with a nice view of the town. Breakfast was typical. Service is good. There are couple of stores across the street for basics but you will need walk into town for cafe or restaurant.
- edj706 (10/5): wonderful hotel - This hotel is just outside the medina on the side of a mountain. It’s an easy five minute walk to the main square and lots of restaurants. It’s very quiet Noor, the innkeeper, was very gracious and helpful. The rooms are not fancy but are spacious and quiet. Breakfast is the typical moroccan breakfast with several different types of bread, an egg, olives, and a sweet treat
The view from the rooftop terrace at sunset is fantastic.
- Fei (8/5): 性价比高 - 位置很好,在顶楼可以俯瞰舍夫沙万老城。酒店硬件设施一般,早餐还不错,每晚50欧元左右的价格还是很超值的
- Sukayah (10/5): Friendly - Lovely riad located on the top side of the town. Easy walking distance to main attractions. Three floors with no elevator but staff are friendly and welcoming and happy to assist with luggage. Parking about 100m away at public carpark.
- Zaigham (8/5): Average - There was no hot water , it was too cold to take a shower. Terrace view was awesome. People were very nice even though they didn’t understand English that much but still my stay was an average stay.
- SharonfromPotomac (10/5): If you go to Chefchouhean, this hotel is in a great location! - This hotel was conveniently located in Chefchouhean. The staff was hospitable and helpful with suggestions for local sites. Breakfast was served right on time, and made specific to our liking. They were very hospitable and accommodating. This hotel is easily located and within steps of all the action.
- LAN CHI T (10/5): - We arrived at 9pm. Hotel is in a quiet area, 10m away from the Medina. It’s a basic hotel but the staff is very exceptional and caring. They couldn’t find my reservation through Expedia but the manager still let us stay that night, even upgrade our twin room to suite. Thanks Al Khalifa.
- Jeeper_yj (10/5): Best hotel in Chefchaouen - Small hotel close to the medina, very nice, very friendly staff. Perfect for motorbikes with place to park in the hotel premises. Five minutes to the old town with many great places to eat. Absolute highlight of our bike tour
- IENG HOI (10/5): - Very nice hotel.
Staff is helpful.
Breakfast is good.
Having donation for the street cat.
- daviddA282OM (10/5): Great location, great comfort, and friendly and helpful staff. - Excellent location, close to the center of town but also close to the Spanish Mosque which has a superb view of the whole city.
The proprietor, Nour, spoke excellent English and was very helpful in answering questions and providing suggestions.
We stayed in a huge room, actually it was two rooms (on the 2nd floor), and was very comfortable.
The view from the terrace (roof) was most excellent.
Breakfast was included and all the employees were very friendly and helpful.
- Abdulhakiem (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay for two days. The staff, especially Mohammad were friendly and helpful. Excellent location and ambiance. Very clean, cultural and traditional. I highly recommend this hotel; if you visit Chefchaouen.
- Kathleen (10/5): - The staff were so helpful in making suggestions and arranging transport. When my son took a bad turn and got sick they helped us arrange evening transportation to Tangier so we could get medical treatment faster.
- ianx17489 (8/5): Convenient location but quite basic hotel. - Very conveniently located hotel, on the edge of the Medina, so a taxi from the bus station can drop you off at the door. Staff were excellent, friendly and very helpful. Even supplied an umbrella.
Our room, was a good size with lots of space but had quite a bare feel to it, (more like an upmarket hostel).... the beds were comfortable, (apart from the hard pillows), with white cotton sheets. The towels were changed after our first day, which was a pleasant surprise. The whole hotel is very clean.
The bathroom is in need of updating and the shower is cramped and painted a dark brown..... not pleasant.
The roof terrace has good views over Chefchaouen.
Building site right outside.... to be fair this is outside the control of the hotel and it was not noisy.
Breakfast was okay, breads, jam, omelette and concentrate orange juice.
The staff arranged a taxi for us to the bus station on departure.
In summary, the location and staff are very good but for the price it does not come close to the many other accomodations we have stayed in around Morocco, many for much less in cost. I realise Chefchaouen is a tourist hot-spot but it baffles me where all the high ratings come from...,, perhaps it's as you check out they "ask" for a 10 rating. !!!
- Haneen (10/5): - Good place to stay at, good hospitality
- Richard S (10/5): Hotel Visit - Very pleasant stay, nice room, great rooftop view of the city. Nor was an excellent host.
- Clinton (10/5): - Hotel Al Khalifa was one of the most pleasant stays we’ve had in Morocco. The rooftop terrace was nicely decorated and shady. Great for reading or napping during the warmest part of the day. Nice for stargazing. Our family room was comfortable with a separate sleeping area for parents. The staff were all pleasant and super helpful. Parking was 150 meters away. The medina and other sites were easily accessible. Breakfasts were generous and taken in an airy sun room or outside.
- sonia (8/5): - The property and location were perfect..super clean, nice rooms and really lovely staff. The only problem was street noise at night and the thin walls..
The hotel is located above the town with great views and a short walk to the old town.
- Alfred (10/5): Amazing time in beautiful Chefchaouen - Great Hotel, good location just out of the medina had an amazing view of beautiful Chefchaouen from the terrace. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and Nourdine was helpful and knowledgable.
- Dario (10/5): - I loved staying at Hotel Al Khalifa. I was actually going to spend only one night at Chefchaouen but after a quick walk around I decided to stay a second night. I would like to thank Nourdine for being such a great host. He at the team made me feel extremely confortable. Nourdine is very helpful and gave me great tips to take the most advantage of my stay in Chefchaouen. I will definitely pick the Hotel Al Khalifa when I come back.
- Adrianna (10/5): Great deal for a great stay! - Such a great hotel. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful- even taking our luggage up to our room. Breakfast was delicious as well. Great view from the terrace of the sunset over the city. They also really seemed to try to encourage eco-friendliness from their guests which was nice to see. Would recommend!
- Kashif (10/5): - Safe and beautiful place. Excellent service
- Liam (10/5): Great views and great service - We had a terrific stay at Hotel Alkhalifa, wonderful service and breathtaking views of beautiful Chefchaouen and the surrounding landscape. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Hot water and wifi were both good. Breakfasts were sizeable and delicious. Parking was in a lot just a two minute walk from the hotel, very cheap. Would definitely stay again.
- GimHong (10/5): - It is located near to main attraction, such as Medina Gate and wall, the Souk and Square, as well as Spanish Mosque. Magnificent sunset view from its rooftop Terrance. They have a beautiful, cozy breakfast place too.
Front Desk staff Mohamad and the boss Nor are very helpful. Mohamad helped us to order food from nearby restaurant as we arrived very late on the first night. Nor helped us to order a taxi to Bus Station.
- XIAOOU (10/5): - Hotel staffs are very nice, even if we arrived super early in the morning, they helped arranged our luggage immediately and gave us the key for our convenience. Room is quite clean.
The hotel is very convenient and walkable to the town. We went out several times early in the morning before breakfast, during the day and in the evening. It is quite safe. Hotel has a really nice view to overlook the entire town, it is quite beautiful view in the evening at the terrace on the top floor of the hotel.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Its a small hotel, located just outside the main souks, on a hillside with great views
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A very nice hotel which exceeds many 3 or even 4-star properties.
