The room was beautiful-spacious-decorated beautifully-the bathroom layout was modern and clean! The bar/restaurant was really nice too. We sat inside one night and outside the other. The staff was really friendly and helpful. I like having the bar/restaurant right in the main part of the hotel so we do not feel stuck only in our room when visiting with family. They even have a little library room with comfy couches if you do not want to sit at the bar or go in the restaurant. My son and I used the workout room which was really nice and clean. The pool was closed but it looked like it would be beautiful when opened. We would highly recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again!

- denisebZ5249IF (10/5): Cozy elegance - Elegance and cozy with exceptional service rooms are oversized bathrooms that are large with beautiful marble, Nice to have a lounge and breakfast available without having to leave the hotel.. I always appreciate a Keurig and fridge. Beautifully appointed.
- Kaiwen (6/5): - When we arrived, there was no free water in the room, so we had to grab a mini fridge water as we were in a rush to head out. The first night, our room lock locked us out when we tried to get in around midnight. It took the night staff about 1.5 hours to resolve it. The night staff was apologetic and promised she would let the manager know about this and make sure we are "taken care of" during this stay. There was no "taken care of" - we were charged for the mini fridge water; there were no complimentary drinks or discount offered; the morning staff that checked us out did not acknowledge the incident - did not sympathize or apologize when we mentioned the incident and only said "yeah we try to keep the locks updated". The morning staff also appeared clueless and unhelpful when we asked if there are areas to walk around for some nature or town nearby or short drive away. I did not expect this level of bad service and communication for this price.

- James (8/5): - I'd give it 5 stars but, as a first time visitor, it was confusing. We followed the signs for the Inn, ended up carrying our bags up stairs and into a banquet hall, and found the front desk with a sign saying that the host was away and would be back in a few minutes. We waited for a long while before finally calling. That's when Noah told us that we were at the wrong Inn (there are two? We didn't book the Grand -- we booked the Bedford Village Inn). That meant carrying bags back down stairs and heading to the main grey building. Overall, it was one of the most unpleasant starts to a hotel visit that we've experienced. Noah helped a lot and was wonderful, and the rest of our stay was great. We may go back, but I definately wouldn't recommend the Inn to someone who didn't already know their way around. The frustration is a lot to get past.

- michaelbX4848PI (10/5): Best in the area - This hotel was a great find. Definitely 5 star and a wonderful facility to celebrate a milestone anniversary. Front desk crew extremely helpful and friendly topping off the registration with a welcome glass of champagne. A special thanks to Hila for her assistance in storing bags and making my wife and I feel right at home. In todayâs lack of caring world it was nice to have someone who still knows how to smile and be helpful. The staff in the restaurant were also extremely friendly and supportive. If you are in the Manchester NH area and want an upscale place to stay then this is your best choice.

The restaurants are really good, and the grounds are beautiful too. I would recommend this property if you are on a New Hampshire road trip.
- ccfitzny (8/5): A Beautiful Inn with Spacious New Rooms and Excellent Service - We stayed at the Grand and were very pleasantly surprised at how lovely and spacious the rooms are. A fireplace in every room makes such a pretty presentation and the four poster beds are roomy and comfortable. The bathrooms are beautiful and so big with a tub and stand alone shower., 2 sinks and lots of storage space for toiletries . Very well done. Shout out to the cleaning staff that worked diligently and quickly and seem to have their job down to a science. Turndown service complete with cookies was very nice as was the informative IPAD on the nightstand. Everyone at the Grand was friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the restaurant Trattoria Fondi for dinner. Excellent. Highly recommend

- msga159 (10/5): Wonderful Hotel and Wedding Venue - We attended a wedding at the BVI and had a spectacular time. The hotel is unique in the historical design, location, level of finishes and attention to details. The BVI has a number of buildings; hotel, restaurant/Bar, Barn for events and a spa & store. The rooms are spacious, clean and lovely, The staff are friendly, professional and very helpful. We had a great stay and the wedding was a well organized and wonderful event. We look forward to staying at the BVI again in the future.

Patrick, if my memory serves me right, our server was amazing and he is one of the reasons we will be returning. The dining room was very warm, clean and inviting. The food was out of this world amazing. Compliments to the chef and the staff. This is definitely one of the best restaurants in the state. We will be back soon!!!

Everything was just perfect, most notable is the professionalism of the staff from front desk, housekeeping to waitstaff. Wonderful experience. Lunch and dinner in the tavern and then breakfast in the main restaurant, again all top notch.
- LCC_Pacer (8/5): Nice Spot for a Getaway - Hotel is beautiful, check in staff attentive, rooms were phenomenal. Food at Fondi was average Italian, brunch was excellent in The Dining Rooms. Couple comments: Bartenders at their restaurant Fondi could up their service game a bit. Quick example, canât bring appetizers and a salad and not have plates and utensils, and then not bring them until asked. On Sunday morning we walked into the Dining Rooms for brunch and the gentleman that was there looked at us like we had 5 heads, we tell him we have a reservation for brunch at 9am, he then walks away and comes back 5 minutes later saying it was his first day. I get that he was probably a bit confused, but he never should have been put in that position by management. Now once we were seated, the server we ended up with was excellent and the brunch was as well. The hotel charges an âamenity feeâ, the fee is small, but what amenities are available in February? Outdoor pool obviously closed, hot tub outside in the cold, and there was a function onsite that prevented us from going to the Wine Room and Tavern.

We had a reservation for dinner at the Italian restaurant in the hotel and it was absolutely delicious. The staff were very friendly and professional. This is by far one of my favorite hotels to escape for a night

- T6449HKcraigl (4/5): Disappointed patrons - I had my wedding here in 2021. Everything was amazing, though some of the staff in the lobby bar were a bit rude. We came back a year later for our anniversary, even though the prices of the room, dinner, and champagne brunch buffet came to well over $1,000 for one night. However it was again beautiful, and the service and food was very good. This had now become a destination for me and my wife, that we really looked forward to. Last year we took another special trip up to have dinner in the tavern, but had a terrible experience. We had a young college student waiting on us. (He told us his parents were close friends with the owners) We were ignored even though we were the only ones in the tavern, and made to feel rushed out of the restaurant because we believe he wanted to leave. The food at that time was subpar, but I paid and tipped accordingly. However, I did make it a point to call the general manager when we got home. At this time I felt as though my concerns were being brushed off and disregarded. There was no attempt to make any kind of concession. This past weekend my wife and I decided to go back up and have a dinner Iâm the dining room, but first stopping for drinks at the tavern. (We chose not to stay at the hotel because the overall cost and the risk of running into rude service wasn't worth it) So we stayed at a nice hotel in Manchester and drove over for dinner. When we got into the tavern we had a waitress who was very attentive, though I believe it was her first night. We ordered drinks and when they were delivered they looked like something that was just pulled out of a bucket. For the amount of money that this place charges and the type of property that it is they should have seasoned craft bartenders. I called one of the bartenders over to ask if the drinks were pre-made, as it looked and tasted as though it was. He came over with a shirt completely wrinkled like it just come out of a hamper and just kind of stared at me, confused with no answer. We sent one of the drinks back. They added more espresso to it, which did nothing to the appeal or flavor. My wife sent the drink back for the second time, and just switched to wine. A restaurant that claims to be of such high stature one would expect the staff should be far more attentive to both their appearance and customer service. It seems to be an overall atmosphere of complacency and lackluster service which is disheartening. I would not have given this review if the last time I called to inform the manger of my experience I had actually felt heard, but this was not the case. We then went to our 5 oâclock reservation in the dining room. The waiter was very attentive. The food, like the drinks was lackluster. We ordered two ribeyes, but had no flavor whatsoever, an overpowering cheese atop, and bland potatoes. The dessert, however, was fantastic. Before this dinner, we had toyed with the idea of coming up for New Yearâs. After these past couple experiences, we will take our money elsewhere.

- bsmiller65 (2/5): Poor customer service - While the actual accommodations were lovely the customer service at this point is less than desirable. We were at the end of a 10 day trip that we booked in February. When we checked in I thought the rates sounded more than quoted but didnât dispute it until I was able to check my notes at home. Upon returning home I discovered I was correct. We were billed for a suite instead of a king bed single. I called back and spoke with Ian. He confirmed he thought I was over charged but needed me to speak with Noah. I did so and he said he needed to speak with Candace. He assured me he would call me back on the 17th. At the end of the day I called back and he said due to training someone he didnât have a chance to speak with her but would speak with her first thing and call me by 10 am. No call. I called again and got another person who finally got me to Candace who said I was charged the Columbus Day rates which to me is bogus. A $100 up charge for 2 rooms. Poor communication and poor customer service defeats beautiful place.

It exceeded our expectations from the guest rooms to the food and professional service. Outstanding in every way!!!!! I would highly recommend the Inn you will not be disappointed.

Expedia gave us a refund and we made an early checkout, but the hotel told us they were not able to show their system we left the hotel, also they were not able to give us anything that showed the date we left the hotel. " We never used an amenity in the hotel, just slept 2 nights, but they charged extra unexpected fees other than the resort fee. I asked to send a detailed invoice but nobody respond to my request. It is a nice boutique hotel but its management is a below-average, single owner/ manager managed dominated self-ruled business.

- Jared (10/5): Much belated Honeymoon - After our original honeymoon overseas was cancelled due to the myriad problems of COVID, my wife and I decided to look for something closer to home, that would still provide a great experience. BVI provided this quite so. All of the staff we encountered was very helpful and courteous. The room was spacious, well furnished and in excellent condition, and everything was very comfortable for our two night stay. We visited the Tavern and Dining Room for lunch and dinner, and the lobby bar for breakfast finding both to have an diverse array of options with food that is probably higher grade than we're used to, but didn't in any way prevent from enjoying each meal. The Luxe Spa was a great facet of our visit as well, both of us enjoying hour massages as part of the trip. Very positive experience all the way around. Overall, just a great time, and nice to finally put the feather in the cap with such a pleasant visit.

- Willa (8/5): - My suite was beautiful and spacious. Food at both the Lobby Bar and Dining Rooms was excellent. Overall, a lovely place to stay. A few things could be improved: grab bar in shower; fluffier bath mats; maybe provide a step stool for very high bed routinely rather than if requested. Also, the remotes for the TVs in the suite were balky--if not pointed at exact right place on the screen they did not work. Snow clearing even the day after a significant snowfall was not great. Cutouts from walkway to parking lot were not consistently clear; back entrance to Great Hall was not well cleared the day after the snowfall. Someone from staff should have been sent out to deal with piles of snow between parked cars in lot near the Grand as well as to clear the intersections of sidewalks parking lots. The front entrance to the Great Hall and the path and steps to the main entrance of the Dining Room and Tavern were fine, but overall my impressions was of a lack of consistency in this regard. That shaped my overall impressions of the BVI. It is very expensive and very comfortable and serves really good food but it was not quite a home run.

The fine dining restaurant had great food. $220 for 2 people.... but that was 4 drinks, 6 oysters on the half shell, steak and seabass entrees, and Creme Brulee. Pricey, but well worth it. Also, complimentary champagne when we arrived.

The food is very good and great service from the staff, if they would just keep the bars open a little later on the weekends would be my only suggestion for people who would like a night cap after dinner. If you are looking for a nice get away or a romantic weekend this is the place and the spa service that is in another building is perfect if your looking for a massage or your wife would like a facial or haircut

Julia and Abby in the restaurant and tavern were excellent. They both went out of their way to make the experience wonderful. The food rivals other top end restaurants. There is a good selection on the menu and presentation and service is super. Much like everywhere else, the property is short staffed, resulting in reduced service areas (lobby bar was closed) but a short 2 minute stroll to the tavern across the property was no inconvenience as the grounds are lovely. Although 3 minutes from highways, the property feels like it is away from the hustle and bustle. We will go back!

The rooms are large and beds super comfy, however they are high off the ground so it is a bit difficult to get in. My mom who is slightly handicapped ( broke her hip a few years ago and is 80) could have never gotten into the bed without a step up. I have no complaints other than that. Maybe thereâs some handicap room with a lower bed. I love this place and canât wait to return in the Fall. Just gorgeous!

The early morning outdoor breakfast on the terrace was delicious and hearty !! The pool and jacuzzi was clean and well maintained . The signage for the overlook room could have been a bit more obvious . Overall a great experience .
