Guest Reviews
- Leonora (9/5): Very nice, comfortable and place is suited for a family getaway.. Will definitely comeback - Affordable and very clean A little noisy when you’re on the ground floor and the room above you is occupied
- Mike (4/5): Unpleasant - The location was good. Nice that we could use the Prestige Hotel facilities. There was a dead cockroach and dead flies on the floor. The bathroom was very outdated and “used”. It didn’t feel clean to be in.
- Carmen (6/5): Great little spot, and we would stay there again!! - Clean, comfortable and great value For what we paid there was nothing we didn’t like. It was clean, comfortable and everything we needed.
- Austin (9/5): -
- Leslie (7/5): - The room and bathroom were clean. the outdoor patio and BBQ area was dirty and not pleasantly set up. It could have been so much nicer if the tables and chairs were arranged nicely. The BBQ tools were very dirty.
- Cecile (2/5): Not a good stay - Air conditioner was fair but had to plug it in at the bathroom. Holes in wall. Tiny bathroom with no counter space. Lumpy beds and chairs falling apart.
- Lynne (7/5): - There was no breakfast. Location was close to a busy highway that we had to cross to get to a restaurant and store. The highway
- Steve (3/5): Won't be returning. - Nothing.,. The Cedar didn't have enough rooms (overbooked?). They had to split the group up between 2 different hotels, where the Cedar was very sub-par for the price while the Prestige was much higher-end. The younger lady at the counter was accommodating as she could be, but the older one (supervisor?) was in no way helpful, and was bordering on argumentative. Not professional in any way.
- Evan (2/5): Never again - Proximity to the project I was working at. The hair all over the shower walls and washroom floor was disgusting.
The urine stain around the base of the toilet shows the lack of cleaning.
No more visits
- Svitlana (10/5): - I'm delighted! Excellent value for money! The room has everything! Dishes, high-quality furniture, heating, towels, and clean, crisp linens! Mountain views from the window! Thank you so much!
- Geoffrey (8/5): -
- Tom (7/5): I was offered an free upgrade to the Prestige arsdium Hot Springs Resort as the Cedar Motel had already closed for the s - Because the Cedar Motel was closed, I was offered a great room at the Prestige Radium Hot Springs Resort at double the value! So this review has a lower rating because I only found out at check-in, yet it was a wonderful upgrade to s better facility. According to the friendly staff the Cedar Motel has since been removed from the accommodation list. Like I said, I never got to see the Cedar Motel itself as they upgraded me to the Prestige Resort upon arrival. Perhaps misleading, but they certainly made up for it by offering me a room at this much better Resort Hotel, at the very center of Radium Hot Springs. So the photos are those of the Resort, not the Cedar Motel.

- Kelly (2/5): - The tv box didn’t work. When I called the concierge she gave me attitude and said there is no maintenance guy and tough luck. The air conditioner was in the bedroom but pugged into the bathroom plug to run. But it goes through the bathroom door, so you can’t close the bathroom door. The room was dirty. Would not recommend this to anyone.
- Darcy (8/5): - Good location.
- Anne (6/5): - We had to check in a mile away from property
There was a messy window air conditioner that we had to plug into bathroom and unable to close bathroom door
Room was clean otherwise. The front of place was cute
- Kane (4/5): Old rooms - Nothing special about this place You have to check into your room at another location which is 4 blocks away. The front desk person gave us our key and told us we had a ground floor room, which was good as we were traveling on our motorcycles and like to have them outside our door.
When we got to the location we had to search for our room, it was on the 2nd floor around a corner completely hidden from sight.. not
As Z the end of the world.
When I entered in the room it was VERY musty smelling!
It was hot outside so the 1st thing I did was turn on the A/C. It did not work.
So we had to get back on our motorcycles and ride back to the other location to speak to the front desk people.
When I told them my issue with the A/C I was asked if I made sure it was plugged in... I assured them it was and asked for a new room as I was not prepared to wait for someone to check it over. The people working the front desk checked their system for another room.
One of the ladies said use this room and the 1st lady gave her a "look" and said remember that one is booked... Made me wonder what was wrong with that one??
They gave us another room, I had to question them as to what I should do if I had an issue with the new room.
" Oh just call this number " and they gave me a business card. Shouldn't that have been provided on check in??
The new room was ok... The A/C turned on and as this was a 2 room? Kitchenette the A/C was in the back room.
We left the room to go get supper + see some sites, when we arrived back 3 hours later the room wasn't very cool.
We ended up sleeping without covers because of that.. not the end of the world, but if it had not cooled down outside I don't believe we would have be comfortable.
This room was also smelly, not as bad as the 1st. This is definitely an OLD property!!
On a side note there was a safe to lock up your personal belongings... To bad the safe wasn't anchored to anything, you could pick it up and carry it away!
- Chansamon (4/5): - This place is just outdated.
- Jerry (10/5): - Room has been recently remodeled and looks great. A/C was via window unit in back bedroom wall and took a while to cool down unit.
- Nataliia (7/5): - good good
- Csaba (4/5): - Be aware that you may book a “deluxe kitchenette with 2 Queen beds” and get a kitchenette that has one queen bed and a pullout sofa. This is what happened to us. When we reported that this is not what we booked, first we were told that we just didn’t find the second bedroom and sent back to the room. After showing them video evidence that there was no second bedroom, they were like, oh, this is one of those rooms with the pullout sofa. When we asked for another room, we were told that they are full. When prompted we were also told this happened before but this is Expedia’s doing, and they have no control over this. Hardly an acceptable answer. The AC switch was also hidden, near the floor. But at least the AC was working. Other than this, this would have been an acceptable place for a motel.
- Hayley (10/5): - It was good for a one night stay
- Shannon (8/5): - One bed was comfy. One was lumpy and needed to be replaced. Fridge was iced up and needed attention as pop didn’t get cold. Clean over all !!
- Woelber (9/5): - Was upgraded which was a pleasant surprise!!
- Betty (9/5): -
- Arlene (8/5): -
- Audrey (3/5): Quite disappointing unfortunately. - There was a deck area that our group could visit on. There was no staff on site, we had to check in at a different hotel and then drive to this one. The rooms are very outdated. There was no ice machine. The fridge in our room was iced up so badly that the door didn't close, I defrosted it using the towels from the bathroom.
- Lana (7/5): Adequate - Clean and the King bed was comfortable. Little hot water. Tv was odd with count downs through out the tv show. Less ads but you still had to wait until countdown was over to continue the show. Odd
- Marvin (8/5): Hot water - Nice clean but no hot water for the whole time
- Breanne (6/5): - Location is good. It was dirty. The garbage had not been taken out of the room. There is no one available to provide assistance. The AC did not cool the whole place.
- Virginia (8/5): - I didnt submit a request for a room on the ground level and i had a hard time going up the stairs because i have arthritis in my knee
- Yvonne (8/5): - The property is close to mosr amenities. Stayed thwre qith my husband. Room was clean and I would stay there again.
- Dafne (7/5): Ok voor een nacht - Rustig Beetje vervallen
- Jenna (6/5): Wouldn’t stay here - Handy they had AC. Not a clean place, and not comfy either.
Was also not even run by the motel office either … we got there and discovered we had to drive across town to another large hotel to check in. Very annoying to have to do that especially as it was in a huge storm.
- Becca (8/5): - Affordable
- Juan Carlos (6/5): - There is no check-in available at the Motel you need to go to the Prestige Hotel to do it. Room was full of mosquitos and noise coming from the room above when walking.
- Mojtaba (4/5): - Not good
- Rick (4/5): Not a good value - Not much A/C had to be plugged into the bathroom which left the bathroom door open. Fridge didn’t work with lights out. Old and grungy hotel
- Keli (2/5): Very poor - Not much. Everything.
- Patti (7/5): Good - The bed and pillows were very nice. It was very clean indoors. Needed a bit more light. I didn't like that the outside area was not very clean. The patio table was dirty with food particles and there was empty take out containers left on the grassy area. Also the bathroom while clean needed more hooks or towel bars. There also needs to be a power bar over by the counter where the microwave and coffeepot were.
- Dave (6/5): - You check in at a beautiful hotel only to be sent to the end of the road to stay in a property they bought that was living quarters for staff. Rooms were not clean when we arrived and no cleaning or towel replacement or soap during our stay. The morning we were leaving the lady came in twice (no knocking) to clean the room while we were packing to leave (7:30 am). Even after asking her to give us 10 to 15 minutes to pack. Only stairs (very narrow) to reach second floor, no ramps. I would not stay at this place again
- Terri (1/5): Very run down -
- Mike (7/5): Good -
- Henrietta (7/5): Good -
- Kelly (4/5): Once was enough - Close to venue attending Crowded room, broken foggy window and door rattled during wind at night
- Jeff (10/5): - Great location, quiet and easy to get around
- Evelyn (8/5): - Our group have a great time staying with Cedar. WE have nice bbque at the back. Nice to walk around in thew morning
- Steve (1/5): Disgusting, $200/ night! Never stay here - Location Ants, cockroach, duct tape on ceiling, you couldn’t plug in multiple electrical items or the breaker would trip. Musky smell, off site check in, absolute rip off
- Anatolii (8/5): Very good -
- Lin (8/5): - Comfortable beds, air conditioning. Full kitchen was great. Close to everything, shaded parking and private and quiet
- Carrie (6/5): - Clean and comfortable but only one A/C unit in bedroom and wasn’t one in main area as shown and advertised.
- Richard (2/5): - Place is a dump
- Curtis (6/5): Cute but it's a No from us - We stopped here on a bike trip as we had never been through Radium. You have to check in at the Prestige down the road which was fine as there are no staff onsite.
The motel is old but cute and tucked away but close to ammenities. Our room (9) backed the patio with BBQs. The smell went right into our room and there was a very large family with 3 or more rooms constantly walking past the room to prepare for their BBQ which smelled like fish in our room. The AC needed to be plugged in from the closet into the bathroom outlet and housekeeping woke us up at 8 am. We also had a used towel behind our bathroom door from a previous guest. It was a miss for us and a disappointment considering the potential for what we enjoy. There are great views from the patio space but we didnt get to enjoy that either. We won't stay again.
- Michael travis (10/5): - Easy quiet nice staff
- Bruce (4/5): - We had to go to a different motel to check in. Upon arrival at our motel the door had to be slammed to close properly, the air conditioner was not functional, one of two lamps in room was not working, toilet seat was very loose and the room was very stale smelling and no windows to open for ventilation. We will not be staying there again - not recommending- would rather sleep in the car.
- Penny (8/5): Very good - Easy check in and staff were wonderful and helpful at check in and check out. Room was clean and very comfortable. Would stay again Plug in for microwave and coffee maker not functional and not sure smoke detector functional as no noted light of function.
- Brian (2/5): - Don’t stay at this location
- Mark (8/5): Motel - Good and clean for older motel
- Syrota (3/5): Poor -
- Verna (3/5): Poor - Beds were ok The staff were not knowledgeable at all regarding the remote for the TV. I was told to Google the remote!! Really!! I was told no one comes to the motel for anything. If you needed anything, you had to drive to the prestige hotel for all toiletries. No tea towel to wipe the dishes had yo use a wash cloth.
- Benjeana (1/5): Bad - Just front desk reception was friendly. The Tv does not work and also the alarm
Clock. The sheet’s wasn’t washed. The room given to us was room 10 at Cedar Motel
The room has a musty smell when we walked in…
Overall the place really needs renovations..
- Bc (7/5): Convenient location. - The Floor plan of the Room is Nice. A bit expensive since we just need a clean and quiet Room for sleep, then we continue our trip to other places
- Adela (9/5): Superb -
- Regie (10/5): - Cedar motel is an old building, furnitures and some appliances are old but working. It’s clean though but rooms are not soundproof because I can hear the other rooms TV, good thing it’s not too loud.
- Victoria (5/5): Location is good but the room we got is uncomfortable - Location is good, staff is good AC is not working properly . Its fan only and it so hot the whole night if our stay
- Marlene (10/5): I will be back next year for roadtrip stopover - Good price and love the kitchennette specially if you have kids Spider my son afraid of
- Mariecel (10/5): - Nice
- Ana (10/5): Satisfied - Convenient, excellent
- Chelly (9/5): Superb -
- Don (10/5): - We have been coming to the Cedar Motel for 30 years
- Colin (4/5): Disappointing -
- Marie-Claude (6/5): - Clean and newly renovated. The tiny kitchenette had everything we needed.
- Christy (7/5): Good -
- Amanda (8/5): Very good -
- Jeanyne (9/5): Superb -
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The shower head didn’t work properly and sprayed water unevenly, and the staff weren’t particularly friendly.
- Baker (3/5): We transferred to the parent hotel (Prestige Inn) paid a higher fee but were at least comfortable. - Nothing Was very start and somewhat sleazy. We only stayed there an hour and booked a room at a different hotel
- Sonya (4/5): - Very old building and falling apart. Grounds were unkept and left to weeds. We were put on the top floor and stairs were kinda dicey. Wouldn't stay here again. Maybe time to do a full upgrade.
- Danielle (8/5): - Room was stuffy smell. It is what you pay for. Having to check in at another hotel was a pain in the ass. Wish we were asked for an upgrade
- Viktoriia (7/5): Good -
- Sheila (6/5): - When check. Lady was little rude. Hard to understand. Really don’t explain where are hotel was and where the restaurant was. Everything else was good
- Brandi (10/5): - Really enjoyed the room and our stay at the Cedar Motel. Its just a little ways from the main hotel where you can swim, but theres a lot of little shops to see along the way. The restaurant there attached to the main building is great.
- Toews (7/5): Good - Good kitchen, washroom, two queen beds. Poor quality bedding.
- Elly (8/5): Very good -
- Rhonda (2/5): - Very low end hotel. Properties on either side abandoned, no towel bars in bathroom, not counter space, no heat (I was told there was a heat button on the air conditioner, but it was wall mounted and no place to plug it in), quilt lumpy, bed uncomfortable. Amenities like pool at parent hotel across town. Not at all the accommodations I thought I had booked.
- Theresa Lynn (10/5): - I had a nice private room with comfortable and adequate linens. I like the association with The Prestige so I use the pool and the hot tub. The room was clean and comfortable.
- Mench (10/5): Highly recommended, nice place - We were upgraded to a suite room with kitchen and separate room Room division, a little more privacy if you have a little one
- Jemimah (9/5): Superb - I really appreciate our accomodation. I did not even expect that we can cook there and they have available pots too... We will be back for sure
- Joe (9/5): Superb -
- Nadine (6/5): Pleasant -
- Reangploy (1/5): Worse experience - None I booked a room with 2 queen beds but Prestige where we had to check in with gave us only 1 queen bed. This is unpredictable. We don’t get what we book for.
- Ted (6/5): Stay OK but the Motel had no on site staff, which possibly lacked regular room inspections. - There was no breakfast included. Location was OK Noisy - near the main Hi way. Beds were medium comfort. Safe was set loose in an opening and not anchored. No tee towels for drying dishes. Screens had holes in them so window could not be opened for air. Bugs etc. to enter on there own.
Plug in washroom not working. One light not working in washroom. Not really an issue, but.
- Dawn (9/5): It was a great stay, just wished the bed was bigger. Otherwise it was amazing! - It was clean and quiet and located exactly where we wanted! Said queen room but was only a double bed.
- russell (8/5): - The secluded almost deadend street gave us a quite zone with only traffic being on the highway up above.
Close to everything needed groceries gas food beverages
- Les (8/5): - Being at the end of downtown off of the hi-way it was surprisingly quiet . There is no front desk here so you’d have to call the other hotel and they always answer phone calls or drive a few blocks . You get what you pay for and it was a good price and with a kitchenette it was decent .
- Owen (8/5): - The place was ok. Needed a bit of upkeep and updating but it looks like it will be done at a later date. But over all it was a good stay and was clean room.
- Devon (2/5): - I barely slept. I was on the ground floor and it sounded like there was someone above us moving furniture all night. The walls are paper thin. I would definitely not stay there again and paid wayyyy too much money for a terrible sleep.
