We also had dinner their one night the person on duty was very personable and friendly he makes a very good gin and tonic đ staff at the hotel were all very friendly and approachable. We were their for 7 nights and will be back next time we are in Christchurch.

- Zulheiry Fahmie Bin (10/5): - The hotel is conveniently located very close to bus stop, shopping lots and a restaurant. Whilst the room size is compact, it is good enough for the purpose of sleeping at night. It has a small fridge, but lacking of microwave and freezer. Hot water for shower is instantly available, no need to wait.

The only thing was the air conditioner which was a littld noisy, we couldnt turn it off but J guess thats because theres no windows in the room. - Verified traveler (10/5): Ok for short trips. - I was a little unsure of the room because they looked really small. They are even smaller than they look. There is barely any space for one person to turn around, let alone two. The bathroom area takes up most of the room. There isn't any place to work, but there is a stool. There is a shelf at the end of the bed where drinks can be made. The fridge was small but present, so there is that. The bed was very soft and there were tons of pillows. The water in the shower was hot and had plenty of pressure. The lights are a little hard to figure out at first. I couldn't find the fan for the bathroom, so the room got quite foggy after a shower. The Wi-Fi was decent enough to hold a meeting if you were in the lobby. It was a bit spottier in the rooms. The breakfast was about the fare you would get from a hotel breakfast buffet. It isn't really worth the price unless you get a lot of food as takeaway. The service was excellent. The staff was very helpful. Location is a bit far from the airport, but right in the middle of the city. Nearly everything is within walking distance. Despite the issues with the room, if you are by yourself and have a small amount of luggage, it was passable. I wouldn't stay more than a few days there, but it works for short 2-3 day trips.

- Glen (10/5): - I though the hotel was excellent, everything was clean and tidy , the buffet breakfast was great and the staff friendly and helpful. It was also a great price. It is walkable to the centre of town and close to the bus exchange. I had a great stay.

I still choose this hotel because of the location and price, it feels safe and is conveniently located. My room barely had a wifi connection which is difficult when you're trying to get some work done and along with this I could not get the room to heat up at all, seems that the aircon was broken as well as one of the light switches. It's clean and comfortable but definitely starting to lose their 'cool edge' they had a few years ago.

- Zac (8/5): - Not sure if its all rooms, but the one i was in had a shelf that butts right up against the foot of the bed. As a taller guy, i kicked the heck out of my toes on that thing all night. Also the tile in the toilet/shower area is smooth and really slippery when its wet. Could probably use a stick-down mat or one of those spray-on treatments to make it anti-slip.

The location is fantastic, within walking distance to all my favourite shopping spots, the Christchurch Bus Interchange, and the Riverside Market. I would definitely stay at BreakFree on Cashel again and highly recommend it to my family and friends.

The coffee and hot water were both cold and when I asked for the mine to be reheated-the staff member obliged. Following me was another person and then anther went up to the expresso machine to have theirs reheated. I would have thought that the cold coffee and water would have been replaced straight away. Also the standard of the coffee was not really what I would have expected- more suited to a workers canteen. I found the staff were very obliging-especially Sophie who helped me navigate the technologies of the room.

- Michelle (6/5): - When I booked the accommodation , I was not aware that unless I was lucky enough to get to the street parking at around 5pm there was no free parking . I was with family until late one evening, paid for parking, then got trapped in the parking lot , it was about 10:30pm . I only got out as it happened that a car was exiting the car park and gate opened to let the car out. the driver kindly allowed me to walk ahead of them to let me out .

- Sibre (10/5): - On my first evening, I noticed an issue with the toilet - it constantly made a dripping sound that was quite maddening when trying to sleep. I told the front desk, in hopes that they could send maintenance to fix it, but as it was the start of the weekend, I was told that might be a while, so instead they just offered me a new room. I was impressed by their commitment to do right by me â it would have been much easier for them to just call maintenance and leave it for Monday.
