Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Considering the price, It might be good for a one night rest if you are a heavy sleeper and don't get bothered by noises, otherwise you will leave with back pain and endless hours with no sleep.
- Edward (10/5): - It is a good place to stay
- Maria Teresa (8/5): - No parking lot
- Dylan (10/5): - The staff was excellent!
- maha (8/5): - comfortable place .the room is 5 star
- Peter (8/5): - For the price, a very comfortable hotel with very good staff. It is located about 20 minutes from downtown by taxi, but there are a couple of good restaurants nearby. The wifi was good, along with the simple breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, wonderful staff , good place to stay
- Gina (10/5): Great service! - The stay was amazing. The room was very clean and staff were extremely nice, upgraded us to a suite!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Rooms are fantastic. Great value. Staff very helpful.
- CanadianGuy (8/5): - Good location, extra clean, excellent staff. No complaints.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Highly recommended for what you pay,
Clean , nice,
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean. Staff is very professional and helpful. My room was upgraded at no extra charge.
Will recommend and definitely return again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - My room type wasn't available (1 King bed) when I checked in, so they upgraded me to a suite, free of charge! One of the elevators was broken, so you had to use the stairs or the elevator on the stairs (sounds strange, but that's what it was). The concierge desk was very helpful and spoke both English and Arabic (among any other languages they may speak). They helped me arrange an Uber ride and my shuttle back to the airport. All of my rides were on time or early!
- MaryH (8/5): - Pick up at airport was 2 hours late.
Elevator to our floor was broken, that was Sunday, wasn’t fixed until Thursday.
Wouldn’t take credit cards. Cash only!
The food in cafe was very good and reasonably priced but they wouldn’t take credit cards.
The towels we used and put on floor were folded and put back on rack. Had throw pillow on bed, I know that a lot of hotels do this but I find it disgusting in all hotels. Hotels should save money, they are totally unnecessary! The staff was nice and helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I lovely hotel with very polite, welcoming and professional staff. The rooms are cool, clean and well kept and there is a breakfast hall and adjoining cafe. As a hotel Geusthouse Amman met and exceeded all our of requirements; amazing value for money.
In terms of location, the hotel is about 15 minutes taxi from downtown and the main restaurants and inner-city tourist sites which means they can be reached easily in a taxi for less than 5JD (don't overpay, the staff will order you an Uber if you ask). The only difficulty we had was that there are two "Geust house" hotels in Amman, so it's important to make sure you direct taxis to the right one. The staff gave us business cards with the address and also wrote out instructions in Arabic that we kept with us to show to taxi drivers.
The photos of the rooms undersell the hotel which is clad in cool white marble throughout and feels classical and sleek. There is an attached Cafe, but otherwise the facilities are basic: this is a base camp from which to explore Jordan rather than a spa resort.
Several reviews mention the breakfast options. While the hotel does not offer extensive breakfast options, there was enough to keep us going over a four day stay. While we were there breakfast included: scrambled eggs, sausages, omelette, tomatoes, cucumber, local cheese, various breads, a selection of cereals, fresh fruit, fruit juice, tea, coffee, and cake. Guests expecting a full-English will be disappointed.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The shower head was rusty and not properly working, the sink leaked water.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room was outdated. The AC was very loud, to the point that you couldn’t sleep with it on.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice big rooms, had a great stay. Could have a better breakfast selection but otherwise good
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Two things that were a little different.
The elevator, you had to walk up 5 steps to get to the door. Each floor the same.
The AC unit in the room did not have an auto mode. So either off or on.
- John (10/5): Great night’s sleep! - The hotel helped me set up a shuttle from the airport which went very smoothly. The staff were all incredibly hospitable and kind and I felt very welcome. I had a great night sleep in a very comfortable bed. Overall a great place for a reasonable price!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - location is in a nice area, close to shopping and very quiet
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Cleanliness and sufficient space and flexible check in.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Staff was amazing. I didn't realize my check in time was at 3pm. My plane landed at 830am I was panicking that I would have to sit around the lobby till check in time. I called on my layover to see if there was anything I can do for an earlier check in. Staff was so nice and friendly, told me not to worry as soon as I arrive ill be checked in. So awesome and sweet. I was stressing for nothing. I will for sure be back. Thank you again for such great hospitality
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean. Good service. Location is convinient. The address was not found in google though.
- Cassim (10/5): - I had a very good experience at Guesthouse Amman. The staff were extremly accomodating, knowledgable and friendly.
Nothing is too far in Amman (the hotel is about 10-15 min from downtown by car), and the location was close to some very nice restaurants. Location is also good to get to other neighbouring cities so that was also a plus.
Like many who have reviewed the property before I would say that the breakfast needs some attention.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Large clean rooms, great staff, breakfast was great with a very nice atmosphere. I couldn't be happier...
- AtotheY2753 (10/5): - Really excellent service. They go above and beyond to make you feel at home.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A lovely clean accomodation with everything you need. Staff were super welcoming and kind - especially Iz the manager, he gave us lots of recommendations for restaurants - so thank you!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place convenient location best value for your $
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, welcoming and wonderful staff. Good location that is accessible to shopping and services. Slight improvement on the breakfast menu would be great. - G (10/5): - Guest House Amman is always dependable, and has been my "Go To" hotel for quite a while. I love everything about Guest House Amman.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Nice quiet area. But supermarket 2 minutes away and some restaurants across the highway. Staff friendly and helpful. Had issues of WiFi in my room, but after complaints was changed to another room. Breakfast choices is very limited but sufficient.
- Hussein (10/5): Definitely recommend - Great service, attentive, friendly, helpful, clean rooms
- Hussein (10/5): Good choice - Great service, friendly staff, very accommodating and helpful. Definitely would recommend. Clean rooms and hotel
- Hussein (10/5): Good choice to book - Great staff, very friendly and welcoming. Nice, clean hotel and great customer service. Would definitely recommend.
- Issa (8/5): Comfortable, clean, and price is reasonable! - Clean, comfortable, great shower lots of water pressure. This is not a five star hotel, but for your money, you can’t beat.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent and clean rooms and kind staff
Perfect location also
- Tarek (6/5): Save the worst for last - Fiancé visited Jordan. Stayed for extra two nights as flight was missed. Initial stay was great, otherwise tarnished at checkout on the last day of extended nights by an obnoxious, rude and snide remarking woman receptionist
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Breakfast is a completele disaster with food looking so not fresh, it could havr been prepared a week before it was served. Room was clean and beds were ok.
- FSC24 (8/5): - Our room was clean and comfortable, and we had plenty to eat at breakfast. The downsides were that the hotel is next door to a nightclub which closes at midnight. That wasn't a problem for us as we went to bed around then anyway, but it is noisy so it would be annoying for anyone who wanted an early night. The staff also don't speak great English, which meant I had a bit of difficulty when we wanted help with a couple of things. Location-wise, you will need a taxi to get to any of the sights, which is a bit annoying, but you will pay a premium if you want to be in walking distance.
