- Sarah (4/5): - Very convenient location Tired decor, broken light and blind, didn't supply shampoo or conditioner despite saying on listing they supplied toiletries (only hand lotion and shower gel in shower), no hooks for towels or coats, expensive for what it was
- Keerthana (10/5): -
- Adam (6/5): Some good, some bad - The location was great, parking was easy, the bed was super comfy. The little pub is great, and the owner is somewhat friendly. The shower head had lots of grime on it, to the point my partner didn't use it. The breakfast was woeful. Booked the night before, and was an hour late and very disappointing full Scottish breakfast.
Unsere bislang negativste Hotelerfahrung,
- Andrew (8/5): DECENT PLACE - Helpful staff, nice room, good shower, central location
Let me keep my bike in the room Room a bit small.

- Catherine (7/5): Enjoyed our stay - Location good, room clean, bed spotless and comfortable. Hotel a bit tired but didn’t affect our stay. Not everyone can eat a full breakfast, a brioche bun with 1 slice of bacon £10 was a bit much :(
- Gyle (7/5): The staff made it worthwhile - The architecture Under renovation and construction
- karen (7/5): Location great staff friendly no restaurant - Location
Staff helpful and polite
Got a room upgrade four poster room was more spacious
Haggis on breakfast was lovely No restaurant as getting refurbished as new owners
Noise from slamming front door
No fruit offer on breakfast
Perhaps add kippers or haddock breakfast

- Craig (1/5): Horrendous - location that's about all I can say as the hotel was far from my expectations. In one of the rooms I booked their was an over whelming smell of dampness I complained to the maid and was told to turn the bathroom fan on! the radiator in that room had been disconnected to the system, the other room the TV was not working and on the evening we arrived had NO hot water, I complained to an employee again in the morning and confirmed my suspicion that the radiator had leaked and soaked the carpet from one end of the room to the other, he said he would contact the manager and the manager by phone and offered to refund me 25% of the cost, wether this happens or not I am not so sure. I do have photo's but for some reason I am unable to upload on this page.

- Steven (6/5): It was pleasant enough the room was good size decor is dated and not worth price paid - I never opted for breakfast as I was leaving early the location is perfect for town centre and seaside
I liked the bed it was comfy and spotless clean the towels supplied were so good I didn’t like how we had to wait at the bar while the only girl on duty was the barmaid and the receptionist to check us in ..
I didn’t like the decor / furnishings they were a bit dated but functional …
The parking area was very small with only one disabled space which was taken
Checking out in the morning no one was there I just left my key in kitchen
- kievin (7/5): Enjoyable station being close was great and my bed was comfy which is important! - Location near station staff were friendly and room and bathroom need upgrades but bed was comfy! Bedroom and bathroom looked tired and kettle didn’t work in room. Also food could be better it’s ok but could be improved a lot!
- Kirstin (5/5): Adequate stay in terms of facilities. At B&B price of £165 there needs to be more value for money. Staff were super - Location and staff. Town is lovely. Tired looking in parts. Room and general decor inside and out needs upgrading. Ok if it was budget accommodation.
- Ellie (5/5): Handy spot for short Dunbar stay - Location. Comfy bed and clean Thin walls, could hear other guests talking in their room
- 992bishnus (10/5): Official meeting . - Lovely atmosphere nice and clean room to stay .Friendly staff and budget friendly.

- fd6573e57d5f71dbf9fbe3833384600e (3/5): Convenient location but room tired and bathroom particularly scruffy and unclean. - Good location, convenient parking Room in need of serious upgrade, bathroom in particular. Tired, stained, could be cleaner (floor not clean at all).

- CONOR (8/5): - Great location, beside the train station.
Comfortable and quiet. Everything was fine. Perfect for one or two night stay, but not much more than that.

- Roy (7/5): ok for one night - Staff were very friendly, girl serving behind the bar was excellent Hotel was a little tired looking could do with some investment. Car park is small had to park up down the road
- Steve (7/5): - The location was fantastic, the staff, especially the young lady on Reception, In the Bar and the same Young Lady who Served our Breakfast.
The selection of breakfast options, the selection of Beers n Spirits at the Bar. The only criticism I (we) have was that the building is very old (Listed Building) there for the Widows are not the best at stopping the cold sea breeze so our room was very, very cold.
The NEW OWNER is upgrading the Hotel and I am sure the windows are on his / her to do list, however he may have problems due to the listed building protocol, but surely common sense will prevail and then away with the gale.
The electrics in the room (11) need looking at, location of the sockets as no where to plug the kettle in.
It is a beautiful building (Hotel) with lots of potential and once the NEW Owner gets it completed it will be top notch and fantastic
The above is only constructive criticism as we understand the New Owner is doing the best they can.
Regards and we will be back..

- Fergus (6/5): Close to where I needed to be comfy bed but badly needs renovation. - It was close to where I wanted to be and the bed was comfortable It is in need of renovations and seemed very dark
- Larrainec (9/5): Enjoyed our stay in this area. - Great welcome, warm atmosphere in dining room and bar though a bit loud due to some other guests!! Spacious room. Nice outlook. Very noisy guests in dining room! Men's golf weekend away and women's night out! the raucousness should have been dealt with by staff for the comfort of other guests.

- McEwan (10/5): Loved it - Awesome staff friendly and very comfortable bed!
- IAN (8/5): Comfortable hotel, great location. - Very friendly staff and a good restaurant. The room was a good size and the bed very comfortable. Located near the railway station and the town centre. Ni Wifi, unfortunately.

- Geoff165 (10/5): Fantastic hotel with super friendly staff in a great location - We stayed at the Royal Mack and loved it! We were really well looked after by a great team who were so welcoming to us and all our children. The bar is cosy, super cheap, and with very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were large, bright and clean. Super convenient location by the station and at the end of the high street, so it’s a great walk around the harbour and back to the hotel.

- Richard (7/5): - The hotel is very close to Dunbar railway station. In fact it is also close to both the town centre and the harbour. My room was warm and reasonably comfortable. The hotel could do with some modernising. And in my opinion, it was just a little on the tatty side. There was breakfast available. But it had to be preordered the night before. Having just arrived and their restaurant being fairly busy I couldn't decide. There didn't seem much available in the town either. So I got some food from the local Co-op.
- mark (10/5): -
- Alison (7/5): Great location, essentials such as a comfy bed and decent shower were provided but everything else was pretty basic. - Location to the station. The bed was comfortable and the shower powerful. The hotel and room was tired and in need of upgrading. There were only two sockets and they were for the TV and kettle. Some more, including by the bed, would be useful. The bathroom fan ran for a very long time after switching the light off so just used the bedroom lights, which wasn’t ideal. The room didn’t really warm up even though the radiator was on full.
- John (10/5): -
- helen (8/5): Ideal for an overnight stay for wedding - Its location and cleanliness of the bedroom Public areas definitely need updating
- Dave (8/5): - Good bar helpful staff
- Michael (7/5): Investment required - Great location, so close to the town centre and the shore. Needs money spent on it. Could be wonderful if it was. As it is, so much of it is outdated and substandard.
- Liam (8/5): Good value for money, Dunbar is a little gem - Friendly helpful staff, cosy bar No sockets near the bedside cabinets
- Wander49525941504 (10/5): Royal Mackintosh Hotel No1 in Dunbar - Really good small hotel with great breakfast and dinner.
Just yards from Dunbar station and high street.
Very reasonably priced and great friendly helpful staff.
Stayed here several times and have always been pleased with all aspects.
- sarahaC560BS (10/5): A great hotel with a GREAT staff! - We stayed 2 nights at this gem in Dunbar while on a family/girls trip. The location is wonderful. Close to the train station, close to shopping and restaurants. The hotel is adorable to look at, and the rooms are comfortable while still maintaining a certain charm that feels like what you would expect staying in a seaside town in Scotland.
But the best part of this hotel was the staff, hands down. Connie, Alicia and Carol went out of their way to ensure that we had anything and everything we needed. They answered questions, made recommendations and were very personable.
If you are looking for a lovely, clean and very kind place to stay in Dunbar, I strongly recommend booking a room here.
- McLean (6/5): Wedding stay - Staff were excellent, food was very good Hotel was very dated and we felt it was expensive due to the standard of accommodation needs updated
- Deborah (8/5): - Staff were so helpful and lovely, would definitely recommend!
- Ceslyn (10/5): Friendly welcome, great food - Very friendly, lovely food, great location.
- Andrew (6/5): - Location was great Room was very tired and bathroom had a damp smell. For cost of room I would've expected a bit better.
- Angela (10/5): Beautiful location but for a sad visit -
- Arlene (8/5): Perfectly normal adequate for price - Good situation staff were pleasant
Room was small but adequate No view with the room we had
- Shaun (7/5): -
- Wilma (8/5): Functional but comfortable hotel with very pleasant staff in an excellent location - The hotel isn't glamorous, but the room was large and comfortable, as was the bed, and the shower was superb. Staff were uniformly charming and helpful and the breakfast was good. We didn't eat there otherwise, but we did have a quiet malt in the bar late in the evening after a couple of concerts - we were there for a music festival, for which it was ideally located. The decor is dated, particularly in the corridors.
- Gary (5/5): -
- Mary (10/5): - Cozy and comfortable
- Saimah (5/5): Adequate - Location Not so clean - overpriced for the service
Didn’t look like the rooms had been hoovered
Dated cupboards etc
- David (8/5): Lovely hotel, great staff and the food was good. However at £180 B&B for 1 night a bit pricey. - The Breakfast was fabulous Full Scottish with Coffee and toast I had orange juice and a Yogurt There was cereal and fresh fruit we could of had porridge . The hotel needs freshened up. It could be excellent, but it needs a bit of work to get there.
- Thomas (10/5): -
- Amy (9/5): Would stay again - Great location, amazing staff. Front bar is great for a quiet drink or 3. Kitchen was amazing for dietary requirements. Small clean rooms, a little dated but thats the only fault.
- Shaun (8/5): Good location and a fair price. - Quick and easy check in from friendly staff. The furniture was a bit dated and the bathroom could do with doing up a bit.
- William (7/5): Good value for money but no frills. - Good cooked breakfast in dining room
Close to train station making day visits to Edinburgh very easy. Cramped and dated bathroom
- Hugh (8/5): - Fresh fish
- GMS (10/5): Travelled for a concert in Edinburgh, this was handy enough out of the city. - Early check-in was accommodated without any issues. An excellent breakfast, sadly, no fried bread though. Managed to park on-site.
- Louise (7/5): Enjoyable Sunbar, but accommodation not up to par - Location Meals stopped early that evening, dated bathroom
- Julia (7/5): This a great location, close to the train station but the hotel seems very weathered. -
- Andrew (8/5): Lovely break from the hustle and bustle of Edinburgh - We didn’t have breakfast A lift to get our bag upstairs
- Tamara (10/5): -
- Neil (8/5): Very good -
