Guest Reviews
- Anna-Beth (10/5): - We stayed at Kariwak for 2 nights and had an excellent experience. The room was clean and staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay at Kariwak again!!
- Devati (8/5): - The rooms were clean and comfortable. The surroundings were well kept with flowering shrubs. The security guard Kevon was very helpful.
- John (8/5): - Peaceful and the ambience.
- Kelsey (6/5): - Cosy rooms and convenient location.
- Jennifer (6/5): - If you're looking for a retreat without the distractions of TV, where it's peaceful and they grow their own vegetables then this could be the ideal spot for you.
Unfortunately I must have visited in the off season as I was one of few guests. I didn't see anyone dining in the restaurant and the bar cabinets had to be unlocked to get a drink, with a lot of dusty bottles.
The surrounding streets felt a little unsafe to walk down too.
However the pool and gard ns were lovely.
- Lisa Marina (10/5): - From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The property is just serene and beautiful, well designed!
- Chandraka (10/5): - Excellent customer service
- Chris (10/5): - Staff went out of their way to accommodate me & my minor disability.
Kudos to Joel, Jackie, LaTonya, & housekeepers.
- James (8/5): - Seemed fair I guess by Tabago standards
- Sanmattee (8/5): - Beautiful facility.
- Katherine (10/5): Stay here!!! - The stay at Kariwak was perfect. The staff is amazing! They accommodated our early check in and late check out due to the ferry schedule. It was a perfect location for the beautiful beaches. The morning yoga was amazing. All around, 5 stars.
- Patricia (10/5): - Quiet. Beautiful gardens. Lovely waterfall pool.
- Ulrich (8/5): - Needs a gym and spa. Land line for room services
- Cleopatra (6/5): - I only stayed at Kariwak Village Holistic for one night and checked in late. The staff were friendly and included breakfast was satisfactory. My only issue was the bathroom tap, which had clearly broken off before I visited. It was not enough for me to request a different room, however, I imagine for longer stays having to wash your hands in the shower would be an inconvenience.
- Horace (8/5): - location
- Deborah (10/5): - Excellant staff most beautiful place almost thought that I was in a resort in another place such warmt and beauty
- crystal (10/5): - Kariwak is always a great experience. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The property is maintained and kept clean. It’s a peaceful haven for anyone needing a reset. I love Kariwak!
- Phoebe (10/5): - This is a wonderful property with the most amazing staff. We’ve been coming here for over thirty years and it’s still as clean and beautiful as the first time. This is not a luxury resort but a quaint holistic haven filled with birds and tropical flowers. This will always be my favorite property in Tobago.
- MARCIA (10/5): We Felt Like Family - Beautiful grounds; cozy bungalows in a tropical garden setting; friendly efficient and professional staff. Close walking distance to everything but tucked away from the hustle and bustle.there is a lovely pool if you don’t feel like going to the beach. The air conditioning was perfect and there was a refrigerator in our room. There is yoga in the mornings if you wish to take part. Breakfast everyday was delicious. We stayed for our 25th anniversary which was on Valentines Day and the staff remembered and we were greeted with flowers in our room and dinner that night was so good with a steelpan soloist (who surprisingly turned out to be my cousin whom i'd never met before). We had a great time and will definitely stay here on our next trip.
- Victoria (10/5): Peaceful paradise - Kariwak was a quiet, calm, relaxing paradise. The staff were super friendly and it's locates a short walk from the airport and store bay. The greenery and peacefulness of this resort was just what we needed.
- Shennalee (10/5): - We loved the garden! Very lush and so beautiful and serene. So many hummingbirds. An amazing, relaxing property
- Helene (10/5): - Beautiful, good breakfast and private areas
- Ellen (10/5): - Great place to stay at! Staff were polite and friendly!
- Wanda (8/5): - The property had beautiful grounds where one could sit in a hammock and relax. The pool was clean and refreshing. Beds were comfortable and housekeeping came by every day.
The air conditioner in the room was often very noisy so I had to wear ear plugs to sleep sometimes.
The free shuttle to Pigeon Point Beach was wonderful. Store Beach which is walking distance from the hotel was very narrow. There was not much room for people to sit on the beach.
- Andrew (10/5): - Our second stay here and it was just as good, very quiet and peaceful with superb staff.
- Andrew (10/5): - My stay was excellent. Very quiet, friendly staff & sumptuous food
- Kristina (10/5): - A great place for a vacation. Excellent staff and services.
- Cheryl (6/5): - Could do with a face lift
- Craig (6/5): - It's decent but overpriced
- wessam (10/5): - Really kind staff
- Wayne (10/5): - I love the beautiful and tranquil gardens and pools. The rustic decor also creates a homely feel
- Claire (8/5): - It was a very relaxing place to be. The breakfast was delicious, staff were very friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean and well maintained.
- Rebecca (10/5): - A lovely haven away from the hustle and bustle of the island. Comfortable beds, spacious rooms and great breakfasts. Staff very friendly. Authentic Caribbean style
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel was very clean. The service was excellent. No long waiying on anything.
- A (6/5): - I had a rental car and a GPS - inspite of which the property is not easy to find as it is in a small lane away from the main road and is easy to miss. I reached around 9PM and they had a very limited menu selection in the restaurant. There are other places within a short drive of this place but I was surprised that they did not have a more elaborate selection to offer - this was true for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Rooms are a bit of a hike from the reception area and the staff made no attempt to help me with my bags (you are walking across a grass lawn, so wheels don't matter). There is a laid back attitude - which is fine but certain things need to be disclosed to the guests - such as what number to use to call reception (the standard "0" does not work) or if you want housekeeping to take care of your room.
WIFI was spotty at best - I had to complain to the management and they had no solution other than to restart the system with the same spotty result - it would drop and then re-connect and then drop..... so if you are trying to work that will not happen here.
- Giselle (10/5): - This was my first stay at Kariwak and it was perfect!
The property is serene, beautiful and well maintained and rooms are clean.
Extra special thanks to the wonderful staff - everyone was so attentive and made me feel so welcome.
- Richard (10/5): - Very good breakfast and very conveniently located.
- Hayden (10/5): - at first i thought it would have been boring, but as it turns out it was very relaxing and i felt at peace which is what we were looking for
- Kashchandra (8/5): - Good place but expensive for the location, good environment and staff. No TV in the room, no shampoo, conditioner , coffee or body lotion. Make sure to bring your own! Good healthy breakfast.
- Aaron (10/5): - The experience was an enjoyable one. All staff were easy to talk to and requests were quickly filled.
The food was the best I’ve had from any given hotel I’ve stayed at in Tobago.
We got early an check-in and a late check-out without any issues.
This is my benchmark for a Tobago stay. I’ll be returning here soon.
- Julie (10/5): - Lovely holistic surroundings , eco-friendly. Home-cooked Caribbean food and wonderfully friendly staff
- Ravindra (8/5): - The grow their own vegetables. My wife is a vegetarian so she was very happy.
- Charles (10/5): - There was notting that i did not like everything was just wonderful i will go baçk again and again and will tell my friends and family.
- Thomas (10/5): Quiet and relaxing sojourn - Very next and relaxing. Facilities are a bit dated, but everything is clean, comfortable, and in good working condition. Staff is great, as is the dining.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Absolutely loved everything about it. Perfect getaway weekend
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Kariwak has a great tropical ambience that is surprisingly hard to find in other hotels or BnBs in Tobago. It’s a nice simple place that’s fits all the criteria of a quiet relaxing getaway.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly, authentic, real taste of the culture and very polite staff. Shower didn’t have hot water though.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful gardens fabulous food all close to beach and airport
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Family owned hotel, very clean, lovely food and delightful staff. The free daily shuttle bus to Pigeon Point was a nice touch. Beach towels provided daily if required. Close to the airport (that close we walked to the hotel)' but aircraft noise is not intrusive. Would highly recommend if holidaying in Tobago.
- Jo (10/5): - Loved the well kept gardens. They grow food that’s used in the delicious meals. Great use of the land!
- Dion (10/5): - A very comfortable experience... pleasantries always from all staff
- lachhman (10/5): - nice place to stay and having nature's all round u
- Ian (10/5): - A little disappointment as the pool was empty was soon made up for as we were given a room in the "garden" area.
This was, quiet, secluded and a haven for birds.
- G (6/5): - Overall the hotel was nice, but I suggest a 24 hour airport shuttle so that me and my girlfriend don’t have to walk with two heavy bags down the rocky road and broken sidewalk. Oh and you should tell customers how much your dinner is before you give it to them or put it on a menu. Something, anything would help for us to know the price of the main course. I had to ask after and we were told $210TTD a plate. The bill came out to a little over $430. Delicious plate but ridiculous prices where they sneak you in and don’t tell you you’ve just paid three nights worth for a dinner for one night. Very disappointed. At least the breakfast was free....the repetitive breakfast, over and over again. Their granola is more like Museli, their “coconut bake” was the same thing as the day before: Multigrain toast haha.
But asides, from all that, the power going out, and the hot water that didn’t work our 2nd to last day, the pool having too much chlorine and warmer than the “jacuzzi” lol and the excessive amount of mosquitos, I’d have to say my stay was okay. Not good but okay.
Oh and I recommend some more for the price like TV’s and fridges.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Friendly staff, clean rooms, delicious food, well manicured gardens, impressive jacuzzi with waterfall feature and nice pool. The hammocks were the perfect unwinding tools.
- TOURIST (2/5): - Horrible filled with mosquitoes in room and throughout hotel and disgusting baised staff that were horrible. Hard bed, poor service, dirty cutlery, thin walls where you could exactly what the people we doing next door, walkway smelled like urine, rating less than 0
- Ian (8/5): quick getaway - it was rest and rejuvenation
- Shashi (8/5): - Nice hotel close to popular beaches.
Breakfast was great and the shuttle to popular areas was most welcomed.
- RHoda (8/5): - I loved the wonderful garden filled with birds, the hidden jacuzzi, the cottages and the decor. Very rustic and peaceful.
- Michael (10/5): Michael's first time in Tobago - The Hotel was everything that I expected. The location is convenient to Crown Point and Pigeon Point Beach, graciously sized rooms, well priced, healthy and hearty breakfast is included, yoga classes included, airport and beach shuttle service is included, warm ozone pool and a Jacuzzi, beautifully landscaped grounds, and massage services are available. Toiletries are not included in the rooms (only soap).
- Angel (10/5): Beautiful hotel! - I don’t usully leave reviews but needed to for this place.
From check-in to check-out, Kariwak took fantastic care of us.
A quiet place in the heart of Crown Point, with beautiful well maintained landscapes. The breakfast options were great, the rooms were clean and everything worked! Staff were
very polite & helpful which if you know Tobago, unfortunately isn’t always the case.
We absolutely loved this hotel and would definitely be returning.
THANK YOU KARIWAK TEAM!
- R (10/5): Excellent location. Friendly staff. - Very close to Store Bay Beach (within easy walking distance). Free shuttle to Pigeon Point Beach on a daily basis. Food the best quality in the local area - very good morning breakfast buffet with individual items to order on demand. (however slow service when they try to be more formal and have guests order individual breakfast items on some mornings instead of the buffet - not sure why not a buffet style every day). Free strong WiFi. Have great attention to children. The logdings are hexagonal buildings divided into two with AC - however if someone was loud next door you could make out what they say! Rooms clean and maid service every day for bed sheets and new towels if required.
- Susan (10/5): Kariwak Village - Lovely hotel. We had a garden room and it was lovely and quiet. A little way from reception and the main pool which was a little busier. We really liked the jacuzzi pool and had that and the garden to ourselves. It’s a really easy walk to and from the airport even with luggage. We ate lunch there one day - very tasty. Breakfast was good but a little bit slow - just accept you’re in the Caribbean and go with the flow. Was really pleased we picked this hotel and would stay again. Whilst it’s very close to the airport you didn’t really notice it as it’s not in the flight path and it’s not a busy airport.
- Verified traveler (10/5): What a gem of a place to stay. - After the hustle and bustle of a hectic week and travel, this was the right place to start the holiday
- D (6/5): - Overall a good experience. Rooms updated and cleaned daily. Well manicured gardens. However, took too long to get eggs and toast( over an.hour) so missed nearly all the yoga classes whixh start at 8am. I did enjoy their house made yoghurt. bfast needed more variety. Avocado is in season..drinks priced reasonably at the hotel
- Marie (8/5): - Nicely laid out and delicious food. Lovely pool. Really liked the yoga classes but wish there were a few more SPA indulgences available.
tha staff was friendly and eager to please.
- Pipoy (8/5): - Nice location but the hotel needs to be renovated looks too old but the breakfast was excellent
- Lisa (6/5): - Grounds and environment were great, very serene and peaceful. Pool was useful and handy with kids. Very close to airport and Store Bay. They had towels available to use for beach. Breakfast that was included was great! On the downside after many emails back and forth my room was still not set up the way I asked for it to be set up which was upsetting upon arrival. They did their best to fix it though. Rooms are way smaller than I expected, they are not accommodating for large family. My family of 4 had to be split up. Also when I showed up for yoga on time, no instructor was there. Later in the morning though there was a yoga class. Wifi is very very slow if that is important to you.
- NM (8/5): - Very nice, serene atmosphere, a few blocks from Store Bay beach, easy walk 5 mins. The breakfast is included and wonderful. Sit down, fresh fruits, coffee/tea, main course ( i had flying fish and coconut bake... Delish!!)
Dinner is available for a cost, reasonable, also very good. I recommend the "zombie" drink, a nice creeper😁.
Nelson and the staff are very kind, considerate and cater to your needs. There is a free shuttle available. My only recomnendation would be a fridge in the room. There is no tv either but it gives the much needed chance to relax. There is free and efficient wifi and free yoga daily. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our time!!! Definitely will return.😃
- Marie (8/5): Lovely place right by beach and airport - Very peaceful and holistic place. You get yoga in an amazing space and its complimentary in the morning. Then the breakfast and food on a whole is great!
- Sian (10/5): Perfect place to relax - Friendly staff, beautiful groups, amazing food and free morning yoga, whats not to love?
