Guest Reviews
- Rita (10/5): - Clean room with nice on-suite.
- Andrew (10/5): - Nice spot in a beautiful city. Thank you for providing a home away from home for a few days!
- netzzzwerg (10/5): Perfect location for exploring the city - I had a great stay at Alloggi Serena, with a perfect location for exploring the city. Sergio was very responsive and even helped me recover some important items I forgot after checkout. The accommodation was clean, quiet, and included a generous breakfast, making it one of the best experiences we've had.
- Chris (10/5): A great B&B in a good location. - A great, small locally owned and run property close to the railway station. This B&B has all you need for a stay in Venice. a clean room with enough storage. A private bathroom with shower free wi-fi and optional breakfast. The hotel is situated 5 mins walk from the Riva de Biasio waterbus stop with no steps to carry your luggage over and only one stop from the railway station, or two stops from the bus station. 25 mins from St Marks square and only 15 mins from the Rialto bridge. Would stay again if I went to Venice.
- Nelcimar (10/5): - I love the location , the property owners are attentive to your needs . Many restaurants near by , very quiet so you can have a good night sleep.
- gailwV5673DW (10/5): Weekend in Venice - Just got back from a fantastic weekend in Venice had a lovely stay at the Alloggi Serena wich was pretty central to all the local attractions The rooms are adequate breakfast was plentiful and owner was friendly and very helpful would deffinatley stay again
- Hans-Christian (10/5): - Cozy B&B in a quiet area of Venice. Small complex with few rooms. Not very modern, but perfectly situated. Recommended!
- Joel (10/5): - 😀
- David (10/5): - Excelente servicio
- Carmine (10/5): - the owner & wife nice people. Shower & hot water service excellent.
- Adrian (10/5): Excellent - Cosy and welcoming room, perfect for a family. Owners are very nice and friendly. Breakfast was perfect. I loved the homemade tiramisu :). Overall, we felt like home. I will definitely come back here, next time in Venice.
- Pandeli (10/5): Great location and awesome stuff - Great location and very convenient to everything, specially to train station.
Very friendly and helpful stuff. We arrived late and in less than 4 minutes someone came and checked us in.
Will book again on our visit!

- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Cosy and quiet. Friendly owners and good breakfast
- Verified traveler (8/5): Rooftop single room in cosy little hotel - A nice simple hotel not far from the railway station, near to a vaporetto stop, and actually not far from anything by walking, either. Easy to find using your phone.
Very friendly service, thank you! The room was big enough for one person (not taller than 182 cm!), three flights of stairs up. The only window was in the roof but it gave enough light. Wifi and aircon worked well, the bathroom was tiny but very clean and the shower worked perfectly. The breakfast was unusually varied for Italian standards. Luggage storage both on arrival and departure day was very useful, please ask for it beforehand. Recommend, would return any time!
- bekiiharley (8/5): Lovely visit - Lovely little B&B, close to the station, short walk to St Marks square and close to everything else you need! Quiet, cute accommodation with lovely hosts, the lady who did our breakfast was lovely and friendly, would return!
- Corgi (10/5): - I had a lovely time in the very cute top floor room. Perfect for a single traveller. Grazie!
- Sandra (4/5): Very basic no frills hotel. - A no frills budget hotel without air conditioning and it was too hot to sleep. The room was clean but full of fruit flies. Dozens of them. I would not recommend it.
Keine Empfehlungswert !
- mandd5girls (8/5): Perfect location!! - A tiny little room, but who cares, YOU’RE IN VENICE! Walked from the train station and we’re hanging up our clothes in 10 minutes! No need for a vaporetto unless you’re going to another island! Walking distance from everything! Venice is EXPENSIVE so this was ball park.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location and wonderful hosts! - Recommend asking a porter to help you find it from the train station the first time. The hosts greeted us as we arrived and took great care of us. Simple but perfect breakfast to start the day. Very easy to access all there is to do in Venice and Morano. Would stay with them again should we return to Venice!
- Verified traveler (6/5): Small, but that's what you get for Venice - Alloggi Serena location is in a quiet location with enough good restaurants and a short walk to anything else. If you are carrying luggage, get a porter from your drop-off point. The rooms are tiny, so hopefully you don't have too much luggage.
- Marcus (8/5): Wonderful quiet place! - Small cozy place away from the hustle and bustle of the super tourist centers. Easy walk to the water bus or main attractions (35 minute slow walk to St. Marks.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Great location, more b&b then actual hotel - Nice location, easy walk from train or bus station. The room was okay, but not great, no daily cleaning. Easy access by boat taxi if needed. TV with English channels.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Hotel near train station. - Good stay in Venice and this hotel was in a good location.
- 482ahreumb (10/5): For a perfect holiday! - I booked this Hotel for 3 nights trips with my friend. It was far better then I expected. The location is just perfect from the station and the staffs were very friendly and nice so we get some useful information and tips for our trip. We had a nice breakfast with a delicious croisant! So each day, we could start a nice journey with a good mood!
Every day the rooms was quite tidy up and well managed.
If you were looking for a little small nice place for your holiday, you could enjoy with this Hotel.
- katie (10/5): Avoid the tourist traps here - This was a great place to stay away from the tourist traps. The wifi was super strong and the hostess was very sweet. She woke us with coffee both mornings and had great recommendations for food! We'd stay here again.
- el718 (2/5): Awful Night In Venice - We booked this hotel for my family of five. We were shown to a room on the third floor with three beds. This room did have air conditioning. When we asked where the other two beds were, we were shown to a narrow set of steps into the attic. The attic had low ceilings, one small window and no air conditioning. Being it was 90 degrees out, you could imagine how stifling it was up there. When I spoke to the owner about this problem, I was told that space is for the babies or the kids not the adults. I wouldn't put my animals in that space. He misrepresented the space and charged a lot for it. My husband and I ended up sleeping on the floor of the room with the air conditioner as no could have slept in the attic. We tried to get a room in another hotel for the evening but they were all booked. No one should have to sleep on the floor on their vacation. The only positive thing I can say about this hotel is the location was convenient for the train station and the vaporettos stops. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
- Elayne (2/5): Awful Nights Stay in Venice - I wish I could give better reviews but unfortunately I cannot. This owner misrepresented his property. We booked a room that had enough beds for five people with air conditioning. When we arrived we were shown to a room with beds for three. This room did have an air conditioner. We were then shown a series of narrow steps that led to an attic space with very low ceilings and a small window on the ceiling. The air was stale and being that it was 90 degrees outside, you can imagine how stifling it was in that space. There was no air conditioning in that attic. When we addressed the owner with the situation, I was told to put the kids in the attic, that it was not for the adults. I don't think it was appropriate for anyone much less the kids. Although the room was clean, the upkeep of this hotel was shabby at best. The bathroom was so small and narrow that my husband barely fit in the shower. Breakfast was not offered in the morning not that we would have sat in the extreme heat to eat it. The only positive that I can say is it was clean as I had to sleep on the floor of our room with my husband as no one could have sleep in the attic with that heat. I could see under the bed and it was clean. Also the location was very good as it was not far from the train station and close to vaporetto stops. This owner could care less about the situation he imposed or the upkeep of his hotel. I would encourage anyone not to book Hotels.com should take him off their website.
- Jonas and Jane (10/5): Great quiet location in the island. - Very personable owners.Bilingual (English) Quiet, yet centrally located 5 minutes from Riva Di Viasio Vaporeto stop on the grand canal.
Very clean rooms, Continental breakfast.. Stayed for 2 weeks. Located near restaurants and small market.
Dependable hot water, clean bathrooms.
- sueassuntan2015 (8/5): great little place - close to train station and water taxis, hard to find the place on the first visit, no hotel signs. Very nice service, breakfast included. It`s a b&b so its a small place. Nearby restaurants walk anywhere in Venice.
- EleonoraP552 (6/5): Good value - It is a quiet and nice B&B next to the Santa Lucia station. If you are considering to use vaporetti it could be a strategic place. Our standard room was small, but air conditioned, cute and clean. Breakfast is in the Italian style because there is no space to cook, but if you are open to know new people you can enjoy the tiny breakfast room as us. The owners are nice people.
- VIPOLL (10/5): Exceeded my expectations!! - What I expect from holiday accommodation is good friendly service, location and cleanliness. The ALLOGGI SERENA scored top marks in all.
The lady taking care of the place is pleasant, speaks good English and went out of her way to make us welcome. The breakfast prepared was good and in many ways abundant.
The location is excellent, 10 min from the train station and 20 min to the San Marco square (walking distances). There are an abundance of good restaurants within 5 min of the b&b. It was easy to find and that is a compliment for anywhere in Venice.
The place is exceptionally clean, our linen and towels were changed regularly.
This place is not "refined" but if you are looking for good comfort, welcome and value you need not look any further.
- Derek (8/5): Central position. - Manager met us on arrival even though it was quite late. The room was quite comfortable and quiet.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Don't stay there. This is not a good place. - To say the place was mediocre is an understatement. This was some sort of an old garage or something, turned into a b&b. Bad ventilation, bad wall installation, smell and not enough space. For the money they charge, this was unacceptable.
- Leandro (8/5): good hotel, good location - It is a very simple hotel. It is expensive because is in a good location. The staff was friendly and the room clean and comfortable . The hotel is less than 10 min walking from the train station.
- Elaine (10/5): Short break in Venice - Excellent bed and breakfast
- monapc (8/5): Cozy little place - We visited Venice in May and we stayed at Alloggi Serena only for one night.Location is good:5-7 minutes away from train station (St.Lucia)and bus station(Piazzale Roma).Saint Mark's Square is around 25 minutes away(walking).Quiet and safe area in the night. We had a nice room at 3rd floor with private bathroom on the corridor.Hosts were friendly and helpful.Breakfast was good.We enjoyed our stay at Alloggi Serena.
- Bbear0814 (6/5): Good place to stay for short trip - We only stayed here 1 night. The owners were very nice and hospitable. Free wifi and close to sights in Venice. We were in the 1st floor room so a bit noisy with other guests coming in and out. Shower was small but always had hot water!
- JennyJ_H85 (10/5): Cutest little cozy hotel - I am in love .... with venice . this was my first time there (a dream of mine for a long time) . i found this hotel and picked it because it was close to a allalagoona stop (boat that shuttles to and from the airport) and also in walking distance to the rialto bridge (about 10-15min) . also the price was intriguing . we arrived late and called the owner . he stayed till we arrived at about 11pm . he was very charming and even came to guide us through the dark venice streets one night when we got lost and couldnt find the hotel . the rooms are simple but clean and comfy . a safe was inside the closet 0- a welcome feature so i didnt have to bring our passports and extra cash everywhere. they do have breakfast if you preorder it and is made by the owners wife in a cute little kitchen . she also cleans the rooms daily . we already spoke to the owner to come back next year during carnival . this is the perfect hotel if you dont mind a simple room at fabulous price
- Julia (10/5): Cute room, nice hosts - Cute room close to the vaparetto (water bus) stop as well as the train station. The hosts were kind and gave us recommendations on where to find a great seafood dinner our first night.
- jennifer (10/5): cute and cozy - sweet little hotel with 4rooms . very lovely owner that even came to find us when we got lost on our way back to the hotel one night . very clean and optional breakfast available
- patrickjA9731OU (10/5): Great little B&B, well located, easy for water busses etc. - We stayed here for three nights. The owner Sergio was very friendly and informative as was the lady preparing breakfast (whose name I've forgotten). It seemed like nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was warm and cosy, the bedding was fresh and crisp. The bathroom was clean, there was an adequate supply of fresh towels and very important for us the water was always hot and the shower had good pressure. We arrived when it was dark, so Venice is a little difficult to negotiate at night and consequently the street was a bit difficult to locate. If it's helpful, just go to the main bus/taxi terminal on the Island, take a No2 water's two stops (about 4/5 minutes) to Riva di Biasio. When you arrive walk in the same direction about 30 meters and turn right, continue a further 30/40 meters where you will find a water fountain, take a left turn there in the direction of the water. The house is on the right the penultimate building is Alloggi. We stayed on ground floor and sometimes we could hear the gondoliers singing as they pass the waterway closeby. The next time we are in Venice (and for sure we will) we will have no hesitation booking here again. Thank you Alloggi Serena for getting it right for us.
- Patrick (10/5): Very well located for getting around Venice - On arrival we met the owner Sergio, very friendly and gave great information about local restaurants. B&B was comfortable, clean linen, bathroom with adequate clean towels. Great powerful shower. Everything you need for a short break, we stayed for 3 nights.
- silja (6/5): Family-run small place - Close to train station, but a bit hard to find. Shop is 300 m away if you need food. Room has everything but looks a bit tired. No shampoo. Breakfast quite small and in a funny dark room. Would want some fruit too. It is a quiet area, you cannot hear a thing at night. Small canal at the doorstep.
- Christian (8/5): - Friendly staff, character room, close to train station, use the door numbers to find the place.
- AnkurPahwa (8/5): Nice family run B&B - It was a great place loved it. Lived for 2 nights couple is very helpful and lady makes a lovely breakfast.
It is well situated and rooms are nice and clean. Overall loved the place and will be booking same place next time.
- martham669 (6/5): Nice and clean accommodation - The place was nice and clean took some time to find the accommodation but this is the case with most places B&B over there. Ws approached a restaurant waiter and he quickly got his mobile and owner Sergio came and got us, breakfast is not your typical western breakfast very Italian but Manuella Sergios wife made us comfortable and very hospitable the place is clean and you get the flavours of venice in this home.
- ollythewally (8/5): Handy for Cruise Terminal. - Stayed here 2 years running.. only 2 stops from Pl. Roma on the Vaperetto, 6 mins. Very clean and friendly good value. Easy to find even at night from the Rive de Basilo Vapperetto stop. Arrived after midnight no problem.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Perfect for the "bed and breakfast" experience - Alloggi Serena was a great place to stay in Venice. It was affordable, close to the train station, and the manager is very friendly! She made us breakfast each morning for free and made us feel at home in the city. It was perfect for the "bed and breakfast" experience.
- Ata (8/5): Affordable price and courteous staff - A nice lady runs this hotel. Initially when I had trouble finding hotel, she went all the way to the train station to find me. She was also courteous enough to iron the shirt of my brother. if you are looking for an affordable place in the center of Venice, I would definitely recommend this hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Although the owners - Sergei and Signora - are very kind, neither the facilities nor the breakfast lived up to the amount we were charged per night. It was also a very challenging place to find.
- phillipstirling (8/5): Lovely Family Run B&B in Venice - We stayed at the Alloggi Serena in Venice for 4 nights in April. This was a great location for us as we could easily walk to everywhere we wanted to go plus was a 10 minute walk to the train station. We struggled to find the B & B originally but that is no surprise for our first time in Venice.
We stayed in the room downstairs and was a comfortable bed with easy to operate air con. the shower room was across the hall which was fine but other guests definitely used the toilet so the term private bathroom was not strictly true.
Breakfast was fine, although i would not recommend the orange juice, rather watery but this is being extremely picky.
If we return to Venice one day i would definitely stay here again
- Lynn (8/5): Nice hotel in location - Serena was lovely. Breakfast brought up to room every morning. She was lovely and friendly. Small Hotel but great location to explore the real Venice. Great value for money.
- YVON (4/5): dissapointing - Too expensive for a very small room. Poor service and breakfast, bathroom across the hall from room, etc. very poor choice
- gauchitopete (8/5): Comfotable Room, Friendly Staff, Good Location, excellent access to 'Tourist' Venice - We spent ten days in Venice staying at the Alloggi Serena. The room was comfortable with an enormous bed and reasonable storage space. our private bathroom was just across the corridor and the small size of the shower was the only bad point. We had our substantial continental breakfast served to us by the very pleasant and helpful maid every morning in the little kitchen diner before setting off. There were two ways to go, turn right from our little lane and walk 200 metres to the Riva di Biasio vaporetto dock and take one of the frequent Linea Uno boats which lets you get off at virtually all of the main tourist sites all the way to the Lido almost an hour away. (These Line 1 boats will bring you directly from the railway station, or from St Stae if the airport boat drops you there). Alternatively you can taks a 5.2 boat to Fundamente Nova and then transfer to a 4.2 for an exciting run out to Murano. When you have to fly home take the route one just two stops to the St Stae dock and catch one of the Alilaguna fast boats to the airport.
If, instead of walking up to the Grand Canal and the vaporetto dock you turn left and thread your way through a couple of turnings and over one little bridge you arrive at the Serena's local square where there are three of four smart restaurants plus coffee shops, a friendly family tratorria, a tobacconists where you can buy your vaporetto two, three or five day season tickets, a Coop grocery, a fruit and vegetable shop, a cake shop and two ice-cream parlours. The square has a real 'village' atmosphere with couples walking, tribes of well-behaved dogs and, in mid afternoon a sudden influx of happy children. It makes a restful place to enjoy a coffee after the hurly burly of Venice centre.
If you are on a budget and wanting to gain a real feel for the magical city then the Serena might suit you very well
Two other points, use Google to locate the Alloggi Serena on a map, it will then be easy to find it on the ground. If the B&B has your email they ill ask you to let them know your arrival time. We arrived at about 8pm after an afternoon flight but Antonio was there to greet us.
- Verified traveler (4/5): To far from anywhere - Place was a nightmare to get to not very well signed posted. When we had a problem with the toilet we went to tell someone and was meet with a very rude man who won't even come down stairs
- alexandrar512 (10/5): Excellent for Low Budget Travelers - This hotel is as good as it gets for low budget travellers. Alloggi Serena is not a fancy hotel, it is more of a family run bed and breakfast. The prices are fantastic and my room was extremely clean and quiet. When I first arrived, I had some trouble finding the hotel because Venice is confusing and there is only a very small marker at the entrance. It only took me a few minutes to walk to the hotel from the train, but I suggest using a GPS to find the hotel. Once I arrived I was greeted by an older man and he showed me to my room and gave me keys. The hotel is about a 30 minute walk from most of the main attractions in Venice, but close to a bunch of restaurants and interesting shops. I stayed by myself and felt very comfortable and safe in this neighborhood. I also appreciated that the staff allowed me to leave my bags at the hotel during the day while I explored the neighborhood. I recommend choosing this hotel!
- Jill (8/5): Comfortable B&B - Was easy to find with Expedia Directions, close to station and ferry on Grand Canal, clean and comfortable , just as described on Expedia
- Kevin (10/5): Quaint - We had a wonderful stay. Sergio and Marchella were great hosts. The location was close to the train station, with restaurants and square nearby. Quiet, clean, comfortable and friendly.
- David (8/5): Difficult to find but worth it - Small, cosy, and difficult to find. But very nice, close to everything.
- Charlotte (6/5): Not as nice as photos but surprisingly comfortable - We were given the impression that it was only 5 minutes from the train station, but in reality it is more like 15, and quite difficult to find. The house we were checked into had no sign and graffiti on the side, which made us a bit concerned, but inside the place was clean and comfortable.
- Farhan (8/5): Nice bed and breakfast close to the station - It's a nice bed and breakfast with friendly staff, very spacious and clean rooms. It's close to the Santa Lucia train station (5 mins walk). The property is small (just 3 rooms) with very narrow hallways and staircases.
- Bethan (10/5): Great B&B. Great people - The beds are a little hard I am used to a softer bed. Everything else was great!
- eska09 (10/5): Nice family hotel - Well it's located 10 minutes walk to railway station, 30 min to San Marco and 5 min to water taxi vaporetto stop. Very convenient location, nice woman running the hotel. We've booked a room for three but it was upgraded for really big two level room on third floor. The hotel is situated in historic part of Venice but not touristic which is good too. The room and bathroom were clean, you'll get free wifi, there is a flat TV in the room and a small refrigerator. The hotel is situated on a small street just near the channel (see the photo).
Have a pleasant stay!
