Guest Reviews
- Mihail (10/5): - Excellent location, superb accommodation and service. Highly recommended.
- Shelley (10/5): - Such a lovely place to stay! Staff were friendly at all times, room was perfectly clean and comfortable and the most amazing breakfast. We will definitely stay again!
- Kevin (10/5): - It was very comfortable and warm, even though we had frost every night, and felt just like a home from home. Nothing was too much trouble and the breakfasts were great 😋
- John (10/5): - More of a home away from home than a B&B. Everything was spotless and the breakfasts were superb, we would definitely stay there again if we are in the area.
- Lorraine (10/5): Our stay at the chestnut - Had a lovely stay......my only complaint is .
That the breakfast was too big! I have never seen such a fantastic fruit salad for breakfast... my husband had the full english .which was fantastic.
- Denyelle (10/5): - The property was outstanding from the room & bed to the Wi-Fi and freshly cooked breakfast. Fresh slices of cake were placed in the room daily, which was a lovely personal touch. The room also had smart TV with Netflix available. The owner was amazing with his knowledge and tips for the tourist attractions, eating out and local sites to see. We had laundry washed, folded and put back in room for a small fee. Would highly recommend this property, I doubt you could find better.
- Steven (10/5): Faultless - Outstanding, hotel excellent and staff brilliant
- John (10/5): - Great location in a quiet residential area and only 10 minutes walk to Bath town centre. Hosts were very helpful. Breakfast was very good.
- Lester (10/5): Excellent quality B&B - Excellent quality B&B with great fresh cooked breakfasts and little extras in the room. Would recommend.
- William (10/5): - This property was a great highlight of our trip, by far the best (and certainly not the most expensive) of all the accommodations we experiences on our 2-week trip around the UK.
- Alan (10/5): - Loved all of it no complaints
- Andrew (10/5): Very nice hotel close to the city centre. - Our host Toni was wamr and friendly. The hotel is very well located. You can park there and it's a short and easy walk into the town centre. The hotel is very nicely furnished, with comfortable beds and a spacious bathroom. There was even some carrot cake in our room to welcome us! Excellent breakfast, too. We will definitely be coming back.
- John (10/5): Great hotel - Very good hotel, in great location , superb throughout all staff friendly and helpful, with a really good breakfast as well.will definitely use again and recommend to friends and family.
- Linda (10/5): - The way you are made so welcome and nothing is to much trouble for Tony and his wife in making your stay perfect . There is not a thing that could be improved in our opinion .
- Katreena (10/5): - Lovely property in a great location. Service received from Tony was wonderful.
- Michael (10/5): - Wonderful B&B! Great location, walkable to downtown Bath. Excellent breakfast. Delightful owner/innkeeper.
Highly recommend!
- Wanda (10/5): - Breakfast was delicious. Tony’s suggestions were helpful. With Tony’s help, parking was easy enough. We mistook Henrietta Street for Henrietta Road and ended up at the wrong place, but Tony quickly straightened us out when we called him, and he directed us further down the street until it turned into the Road and met us out front. We did not need our car at all in Bath because we could walk wherever we wanted to go from here. Chestnuts House and our hosts were truly a delight.
- Kevin (10/5): - Toni was a wonderful host and treated every guest special.
Breakfast was a delight too!!
- Wendy (10/5): - Everything about the property was excellent. It's in a quiet convenient location and just a short walk into the centre. We received a very warm and friendly welcome from Tony and his staff. The house is immaculate throughout. Our room was tastefully decorated, very comfortable with everything you could need. - Tracy (10/5): - We really enjoyed our 2 night stay although the bed was a little too soft for our liking in room 2. Touches like the mini fridge i the room, tea/ coffee and great toiletries in the bathroom would all appreciated.
Our hosts were very accommodating and helpful. Breakfast was tasty and of a high quality. The Chestnuts felt very safe from a COVID point of view. Well placed for a 10 minute walk into town. Would happily stay again.
- Jane (10/5): - Tony and his staff were excellent. Freshly cooked breakfast was wonderful. Our room was lovely, and the small patio an added bonus. Would highly recommend this b & b.
The only problem for me were the pillows, I had to buy one!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Was a little apprehensive as normally stay in hotels, but decided to try Chestnuts House b& b as it had good reviews. Was not disappointed, check in and reception was exceptional, really couldnt do enough for us,giving details where to visit, places to eat etc. The room was really nice, bed so comfortable, excellent night sleep and the place was spotless. Thought you might be able to hear people in the next room, but so quiet. Only has 4 rooms in property. Parking free on the drive, but they give a you a parking permit to park on the street if no room left on drive.
Would highly recommend and will definitely book again.

The bed had lovely crisp sheets.
We enjoyed sitting out in the private garden.
- Andrew (10/5): A home from home - Booked a weekend break to Bath and found this B&B online.
Cannot fault the place. The owner - Tony, was very welcoming and really informative of where to go and what tickets to purchase for what places.
Our room was stunning - with homemade Jam tarts on arrival and then the most amazing chocolate brownies the next day. The bed was soooo comfortable and the bathroom was spotless (with a power shower) and stocked with toiletries.
Breakfast was amazing. To start we had a selection of Pastries, Yoghurts, Cereal and Cheese. Then we had our hot food order taken. Full English both days with toast. There was also a choice of Eggs Benedict, Salmon with Scrambled Eggs or if you just wanted Egg on toast then that was catered for. Nothing was too much trouble.
The B&B had a real home from home feel to it. It had off road parking and was only a 10 - 15 minute walk to the centre of Bath.
We will definitely be going back.

- Kenneth (10/5): Perfect place to stay while touring Bath - Chestnuts House is a beautiful inn located near Henrietta Park in Bath. It's a very short walk to the center of the city. Our accommodations were quite comfortable with a tea/coffee service and snacks in the room. The bathroom was large with a very nice shower in it! We had a ground floor bedroom and it was quiet. Breakfast was delicious with wonderful choices from a menu made to order along with tea/coffee, fruit, yogurts, a variety of sweet rolls, cheeses, etc. We received great directions and information on places to visit in Bath. Everything about Chestnuts House was wonderful!
- Angela (10/5): - Fabulous place to stay. Highly recommend this place
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Two adults and one 16y year old stayed in the family room. Although it was tight fit, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was nice. We enjoyed the teapot and selection of tea bags and biscuits. Breakfast was the best we had our whole time visiting the UK. There were fruit juices, pastries, coffee, tea, and yogurt in addition to a selection of cooked breakfast options. The hotel was only a 10 minute walk to the abbey and Roman Baths. We took advantage of the free city tours of Bath. Then visited the thermal Bath spa, where a discount card from the hotel got us 3 hours for the price of 2. Everything was very enjoyable.
- Ann (10/5): - Outstanding service and breakfast was as good as any in Europe.
- Andy (10/5): Great stay! - One of the best stays ever...comfortable, private, great location and the service was amazing...Tony, the owner, could not have been a better host. The breakfast menu was expansive and prepared perfectly....I will not go back to Bath without checking to see if Chestnuts House is available.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very close to the centre of Bath, free parking at the property and a great breakfast
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Fresh milk in the room. Fresh water in the room was in a flask making it good for the environment. Breakfast was gorgeous.
- Paul (10/5): Chestnuts House is an amazing find!! - Everything about Chestnuts House was excellent. Location , facility, service, friendliness, breakfast, cleanliness - you name it!! We'd stay here again in a heart beat.

- garry (10/5): - Really enjoyed our stay. Toni was very welcoming when we arrived providing us with all the information regarding the area. A nice touch was the chocolate and delicious slice to have with the coffees provided. The room was spotless, breakfast excellent and location within walking distance to all attractions. Would recommend hotel.
- Brenda (10/5): Wonderful little gem - The Chestnuts hotel is a beautiful residence with a home from home feeling. My partner and I wanted a short break in Bath. The hotel was ideally situated within walking distance to the centre. Car parking in the property grounds. Tony was extremely welcoming on our arrival, providing us with local knowledge of the area. I could not fault one aspect of this hotel including the breakfast which was lovely. I would definitely return if I am in the area.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Charming B&B. Staff was kind and helpful, room was very clean, and hot, made-to-order complimentary breakfast was delicious.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very comfortable and friendly, excellent breakfast. Short walk to centre of town. We travelled to Bath by train and hotel is c15 minutes walk from station. Owner very helpful on arrival to ensure we could find our way around Bath.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Everything you could want from a 5 star hotel and more in a quiet comfortable well run guest house. The term doesn’t really do it justice. Boutique Hotel would I guess be the modern phrase. Plus it’s a level 10 minute stroll into the heart of the city, no need for a car, bus or taxis. Comfortable beds and breakfast any way you like it. Ace.
- Mark (10/5): First class little gem. - Fantastic couple of days away between Christmas and new year, disappointed I had only booked a couple of nights, I tried to book for Saturday night while their but as expected fully booked .
First class little gem and such welcoming staff breakfast was beautiful, we will go back and if your looking for a b&b in bath I really don't think you could bo any better.
- Chieng (10/5): - It was perfect ... got everything we needed and more.
- Angela (10/5): Excellent visit. - Very enjoyable stay in excellent Chestnuts House. Second visit and hope to return soon.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A Lovely B&B in Bath - This is a lovely B&B and we will definitely stay here again if we revisit Bath in the future!
The breakfast was also very nice!
- Sharon (10/5): Great place walking distance to the city centre - Chestnuts House was a lovely small bed and breakfast. We were given a very warm welcome. The room was very clean, warm and comfortable. The breakfast was very good and offered everything you would want from continental to full cooked breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is just a 10 minutes walk from the city centre and close to the famous Pulteney Bridge, where there are lovely cafes and restaurants. I would definitely recommend this place and will definitely be back.
- Stephen (10/5): Thank you for an amazing time in Bath. - A great choice for our short break in Bath. The location is close enough to town to comfortably walk, and far enough to be peaceful and quiet at night. The room was beautifully laid out when we arrived (and whenever we went back to the room), and finished to a high standard. Tony and the team were amazing and made our visit to Bath extra special. The breakfasts are to die for, and we even learnt how to properly poach an egg! Definitely recommend Chestnuts House as a place to stay in Bath.
- Aj (8/5): Delicious cold and hot breakfast - This is a very good B&B with excellent breakfast, free WiFi and free parking. It is well located; only 15 minutes walk to the Roman Baths. There is a Sky TV room with free daily newspapers, books and DVDs. The bedroom itself is okay but there was a strange smell on arrival, the carpet is dirty and there is no fridge in the room. The superior room has a Freeview TV with build in DVD player. Complementary tea and instant coffee provided together with some snacks. The staff are very helpful and friendly, offering good advice on what to see in Bath.
- Michel (10/5): - Wonderful welcome (good discussion about rugby and European final Brive - Bath in 1998). Nice and quiet house. Lovely breakfast. It is a destination to be promoted
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent in every way - Great location, great host, great breakfast!
Hard to fault Chestnuts really. Off-road parking and close to Henrietta Park with a 10 minute walk into the City make the location practically perfect. Very pleasant host for whom nothing is too much trouble and breakfasts amongst the best we’ve ever had and that includes 5 star hotels around the world. Beautifully kept rooms with fresh milk and sweet treats every day. Comfortable beds and pillows. Would definitely recommend.
- Andrew (10/5): - I was only there for one night but i received great service, the hotel is in a good location to the city centre, the breakfast was excellent and the facilities were more than satisfactory. Highly recommend this hotel.
