Guest Reviews
- Michelle (9/5): - Great location, great staff!
- Andrea (10/5): Posizione eccellente, staff super professionale - Tutto, camera bellissima, pulita e spaziosa, con tutti comfort.
Lo staff è preparatissimo, professionale e gentilissimo. Nulla è tutto perfetto
- Charlotte (8/5): -
- NANCY (8/5): - Location was great. Close to restaurants and easy to walk around! The breakfast was not that good and I wish they had a magnified mirror in the bathroom.
- Mark (7/5): -
- Guest (8/5): -
- Holly (10/5): Wish we were staying more than 1 night - Close to downtown but far enough away to be quiet Issues with checkin, unsure if it was booking or the hotel. But they were very attentive and able to rebook us
- Jesse (9/5): - Very nice place with excellent staff parking is not so fun
- Natasha (10/5): Can’t go wrong staying here in Charleston. I’d definitely stay here again. - The room was fantastic. It had a kitchen, lounge area, and bedroom area. All pretty modern and spacious. Just sitting at the top of town was great for all I wanted to do. The staff were excellent! All very helpful and friendly, and the hotel was very clean. It’s not often you can give 10/10 for everything but they really nailed it! Nothing!
- Michelle (9/5): - Great location on King St
- shemazar (6/5): Rooms clean; parking is highway robbery - Far away from the interesting stuff. Rooms were clean and decent. Parking is $50/night - highway robbery. Breakfast was solid — better than the Hyatt House we came from in Orlando as it had waffles and pancakes.
- Katrina (10/5): -
- Jay (10/5): Would recommend this hotel to everyone . Right on Kings Street near all of the restaurants and bars.on Kings St - The staff were 5 star! From the Valet to the Desk check in person. Not much
- katiesA2411BA (10/5): Great experience - Loved this hotel for our family trip to Charleston. Location was excellent end walking distance to everything we wanted to do. Room was spacious. A nice little extra I noticed was hot chocolate for the kids 24/7, this kind of thing is always something my kids mention when thinking back about trips. Also the valet guys were literally the nicest most helpful valet guys we’ve met, they went above and beyond, especially Caleb c and Ty. We would happily stay at this hotel again
- Paulette (10/5): We will always stay at the Hyatt when in our favorite southern city of Charleston. We especially love Naquan at the fro - The staff is very friendly and always makes our visit feel like home. This is our third time at this Hyatt. Nothing

- jessicasX2726KN (4/5): Construction-do not stay - I stayed at this hotel in January of 2024 and had a great experience. Great breakfast, nice room, convenient location. So when I returned in February 2026 I stayed here again. However, this time was different. Nowhere, on the website, does it say there is construction next door. And when I say next door, it sounded like it was in my room. When we called the front desk, they said it rang through the entire hotel and it was from 9:00AM-5:30 PM. Constant knocking and drilling. So loud! The next morning, it started at 7:45 AM. When I asked the front desk, they said it started at 8:00 AM. The next morning the banging and drilling started at 7:30 AM. The hotel should have disclosed this noise as I would have stayed in another hotel. Instead of being able to relax or sleep in on vacation we were constantly hearing banging and drilling as if it was in our room. When we complained there were no rooms to move where you couldn't hear it AND the last day of our stay the rate went from $250.00 a night to over $600.00 which is a rediculous increase considering the above, in addition to TV channels constantly going in and out or freezing. While there are great things about this hotel, the transparency around the noise and construction was less than ideal.
- Z3521JGdeanl (10/5): A great find - Enjoyed what appeared to be the hidden location of the Hyatt House. Historic Charleston can be a congested place and the Hyatt House is almost invisible from the street. Excellent staff, rooms and amenities. The valet service was superb. Recommending Hyatt House to all my colleagues when they're in the area or passing through. PS. Be on the rooftop at "POUR" at sunset. Trust me, you'll pull out your phone .
- gabriellepP1560AR (10/5): Wonderful Front Desk Experience and Birthday Staycation - We had a little "staycation" at Hyatt House for my daughter's 8th birthday. It was the perfect little night away -- especially with the indoor pool, attentive front desk and delicious breakfast. What really set our experience apart, was how much Annalisa and her team at the front desk made my daughter feel special for her birthday. They sang "happy birthday" to her when she arrived, gave her a goodie bag filled with all her favorite treats and a personalized birthday note. The girls thought it was "magic" that somehow the hotel knew it was her birthday! Thank you Annalisa and Hyatt House team for making her 8th birthday so special!
- yd567 (2/5): Terrible hotel great staff substandard rooms - The staff was great and tried their best. It is unacceptable however for a global brand like Hyatt to have sub-standard rooms being offered to guest. My experience in spite of holding a globalist status brings me a chill to imagine how lower tiered loyalist must be treated. The room had unbearable chlorine smell. Within a few minutes I had to get out. No secondary egress- windows did not open, sealed shut. On reporting to the front desk, they tried remediation starting with a room air spray. That made worse. Then we had to leave the room for multiple hours so maintenance could run a very loud air purifier machine. Not sure if that helped. I was told no rooms were available for the night but promised a new room. My daughter and I had to sleep in the room as all other hotels in the area were booked or completely out of my budget. The fact that I had to go through this is ridiculous given how the hotel is right in the middle of historic downtown and yet continues to have sub standard property. Will not recommend this hotel to anyone. Hyatt house really needs to get their act together for this brand of hotels in their collection
- Tiffany (10/5): We stayed for one night for an event. The room was clean. The shower (which I always judge) was hot and fantastic. The s - Location, nice breakfast, clean and the valet parking Understandably construction, but they did start at a respectable time.
- George (10/5): Good hotel a d excellent staff - Very nice people including desk folks, valet attendants and all service - breakfast providers as well as floor attendants. The pool is fantastic. Bar attendants were very honest and helpful. It is not the hotel fault. But the view from the bar is rather industrial. Hopefully it will be better at some point of time.
- Susan (10/5): - The room was very spacious and clean. The breakfast was amazing and coffee was also great. Location was perfect...we used Uber a couple of time but walks to almost everything we did. I have no complaints!
- Sarah (9/5): Nice spot tucked in on King. Clean and pleasant - I appreciated the friendliness of the staff and clarity of explanation of facilities and amenities. From the valet to the front desk, it was a very pleasant experience. For such a busy area, the room was nice and quiet and I got really good rest. No complaints!
- Caroline (1/5): Disaster - Not much positive to say about this place except for the convenient location on King Street. I booked and paid for 2 rooms on booking.com. Upon arrival, the desk attendant asked for a card to hold for incidentals. Ended up getting charged for a 3rd room that I didn’t even book or use. Called the hotel multiple times with nobody willing to help. Each time I called, the story was different. First, I was told this was a common issue where the desk attendant did not notice I booked through a third party and thus charged me again on site. The hotel employee offered to look into the issue and call me back but never did. The second time, the story was that the accounting team only had a payment for two rooms on file, which was clearly false based on my credit card statements, which showed charges for 3 rooms. The third time, the story was that booking.com and other third parties were not authorized to charge me for the rooms and that payment was to be made directly with the hotel. I was told I would have to dispute the issue through booking.com. I asked for the hotel manager multiple times and was denied. On top of it all, the rooms were not great (dark and dated). The rugs had stains and overall, the room felt dirty.
- Gar (8/5): -
- Nelu (10/5): the city buss was free and convenient to have a toor - was basic breakfast I drink espresso coffee and was not available at the bar
- John (10/5): -
- Albert (10/5): We will be back for sure - Love the comfort and coziness Good location
- Barbara (6/5): Over priced for the product - Location. Ali in housekeeping was so kind and helpful when our room was not ready Almost 500 dollars for an 18 hour stay plus 48 dollars to park . If there was a discount to park while staying at hotel we were not informed. We did not move our car until departure. No water pressure in sink rm770
- Justin (10/5): -
- Laura (9/5): We had a nice stay. Facility clean and updated. - Great location. Staff was great! Breakfast very good! Pool facility very good. No toilet paper in our room. No pillow or blanket for the fold out couch. Toilet seat was loose. Parking convo rant but super expensive.
- 682lizz (8/5): Nice visit - Mostly everyone was very nice here. We only had 1 situation where we bought some snacks from the market downstairs and the front desk lady seemed very bothered by us . She said she had to do something for another guest so she was a little rude to my husband. The parking situation is a little ridiculous there. It’s $49 / day to valet there plus tip every time you leave/ come back. Hyatt should really offer guests a discount for that. We ended up parking at the garage next door. It’s fine if it’s sitting all day , but charge as you go in and out. That was a little ridiculous too, but we ended up doing that every day. We paid different prices everyday. $30, $40 , $45 so don’t believe the $24 daily . The hotel suite itself was nice and the location was great. We visited the Pour taproom once. It was ok, but it gets pricey.

- Nicholas (9/5): -
- Vacationer827919 (8/5): Great location with a large quiet room - We were surprised by the large room that had a small kitchen and sitting area with a couch. The blackout curtain allowed us to sleep in. The location was excellent and we enjoyed drinks at the rooftop bar when we arrived. Making the trip more affordable was the large breakfast that was included. It felt a bit like a large chain hotel (so many small boutique hotels in Charleston with distinct personalities) but this was a great location and super value for the money. We also saw several well behaved dogs so it must be a pet friendly hotel
- Renee (8/5): -
- Anette (6/5): - Bra läge Frukosten var kaosartad varje dag på vår vistelse.
- Monica (1/5): -
- Kanjidog (10/5): The only 2 bedroom on King St - The new GM Nathan was very present. Always around answering guest’s questions, and helping make our visit a great experience. The rooms are large, we had a 2 bedrooms for two couples. Great location on upper King St.
- Elizabeth (9/5): nice hotel, beware parking garage rates!! - it was spacious, well located, pretty and had a great breakfast. beware the parking garage which charges from “midnight to midnight”, i.e. charges double the listed rate.
- Leslie (9/5): -
- Anna (10/5): -
- Guest (8/5): Great room...fast elevators...very comfortable stay. - Great job with breakfast. The food was hot and fresh. Tables were always being cleaned for the next guest. Valet was helpful. Front desk was not. Additional fees for parking.....$$$$
Temperature for the pool was very unacceptable.
Very disappointed.
- Coral (4/5): Great location - terribly unhospitable staff - won't return - The location was terrific, right on King Street with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. The DryBar right out front was lucky! We arrived very late (around 2 am) after driving for 12 hours. I had messaged the hotel ahead of time to let them know that we were definitely coming, but would not arrive until after 1 am. When we got there, the two people at the front desk stopped me from speaking and said "we're in the middle of an audit so you're going to have to wait- and it's so late, we have you as a no show". At any time of day, I would not have loved this- but at 2 am for a room I already paid for, it was stressful. Also, when we returned to our room at 7 pm the next day after being out all day, we found that housekeeping didn't tend to our room. When we called the front desk, they were not apologetic or kind, just said they'd take care of it. Overall, staff attitude wasn't worth the great location.
- Patricia (10/5): Amazing service and great location - Excellent service, the front desk girl that checked me in was very kind, I went at night to ask for info, they provided me with all information I needed in a very nice way, the housekeeping supervisor Ellie Green was amazing, I forgot some things at the hotel and she was quick and very professional, the valet young kids are very nice as well and the rooftop bar is very good! I definitely recommend this hotel. The TV does not have many options to connect to apps
- P886KLje (10/5): Caleb was a 10/10 valet - Caleb was especially prompt and courteous, we watched him jog several blocks and come back with a car like he pulled it from up front. Very polite, energetic and knowledgeable about the town. Always thankful for a great stay with Hyatt!
- Maria "Cecilia" (10/5): it was great - room was absolutely perfect better than expected breakfast food could have been a little more homemade
- lorin44 (6/5): Good enough - The staff is very helpful, but like most medium range hotels in Charleston, they don't need to keep the hotels up-to-date and refreshed to keep people coming to Charleston for vacation...so they don't. The room we had was worn out, mix-matched furniture, and just a general uncomfortable feeling. The location was walking distance to most restaurants and shops, and they offered reasonably priced valet parking.
- Miglena (10/5): -
- B4677RUjenniferg (10/5): Always Enjoyable! - We always enjoy our stay here. The location is terrific and the staff is always so welcoming! The kids enjoy the pool and breakfast buffet.
- AnnLori (10/5): -
- Mobile38751543744 (6/5): Staff seemed overwhelmed on a busy weekend and it showed. - Average in every way. This is a great location in the Historic District but the hotel experience and condition were underwhelming.
- ladybuginthesouth (10/5): Home, support, prayers - My husband and I stayed at the Hyatt house in preparation for a major surgery for him. I stayed for 10 continuous days.
There is not one single staff person I can single out because it was a total team of support for me. We had issues in the room that maintenance addressed. The front desk was so helpful and so kind especially the one night when I was so tired I couldn’t even remember what room number I stayed in. The valets would turn the heat on and the heat seats on in my car and help me put my day bag in the trunk every morning when I came down to go to the hospital at 5:30 AM. And when I would get back after 6 PM or later even though there would be a back up in the front, they said no worries. Just leave the car keys with us and we will have the car ready for you tomorrow morning. All of the managers day and night were very considerate and helpful especially when we weren’t even sure what day we were going to have to check out. And there were days when I really needed support, and there was no one in that staff that did not listen to me. Pray with me and boost my Energy when I would be at the lowest.
This is not just a hotel. And I do not say that lightly. If you need to stay at MUSC
For surgery this is a home away from home.
The ENTIRE STAFF care and help hold you up.
I would strongly advise planning your stay here not just because it’s close but because the staff will be there for you.
- Rick (9/5): Living it up in Charleston - The bars I'm while they were really close! The location is perfect. What kind of hoping you have a outside balcony being in one of the higher floors but it's cool, I'm expecting a real sized refrigerator no but it's only a smaller one but everything was all good.
- 2tennesseeT (10/5): Exceeded my expectations - Lately my stays at Hyatt Hotels have been blah. This hotel exceeded my expectations. Room was large, clean and quiet. We did have to request washcloths and got them right away. Darnell at the front desk was the nicest and made our stay great.
- 568crawfordl (2/5): Try somewhere different next month - Find a different hotel this is going down hill fast. Breakfast is cut off early. The valet situation is probably the worst I’ve seen.
- brenley (10/5): - Great stay!
- Deborah (10/5): - First time to visit Charleston. Hotel was in a good location. Renovations were undergoing to the restaurant but breakfast area was easy to maneuver around. We were surprised that we had to pay for parking but realized in that area parking is crazy bad.
- James (8/5): - Construction
- Stacy (8/5): -
- Takashi (9/5): Great Location in the Heart of Charleston - Location was very convenient to Historic Downtown Charleston. The parking structure was located adjacent to the hotel making it very convenient. We stayed 4 nights and the breakfast was great and different each day. There was construction ongoing during our stay. Parking becomes very expensive if you go in and out of the parking structure during the day. The clock resets at midnight so you end up paying double.
- Ellen (10/5): - We love this hotel and have stayed here many times. We chose a studio King room this time and loved it! As always, the included breakfast is very good and 1 of the reasons that we continually stay here.
- John (10/5): - Great
- N557CJmarianh (2/5): Terrible dont stay here - Terrible housekeeping, sheets unchanged from previous occupants, feces and blood on sheets. Closet fell apart. Bathroom filthy and missing light fixtures. Informed them of same but they never did anything about fixing over the week we were there. Staff very unfriendly and unhelpfull
- Kelli (8/5): Comfortable but no free parking - They upgraded us to a suite which was nice but we were only there for one night. I did like the noon check out time but i did not like paying $47 to park in the parking garage or $49 for valet. The room was already over $400. The thermostat may have been broken but we told the front desk at check out. It was nice to be within walking distance!!
- S2131YNrs (10/5): Pleasant ameneties combined with great loaction - Even with renovations going on, the personable and exceptionally helpful staff, facility location, and room amenities made this visit pleasant
- 806bruceb (10/5): Very Good Hotel and Very Conveniently located - Very good hotel. Conveniently located too.
The Hyatt House and Hyatt Place share the same location. I stayed at the Hyatt House because they had a mini kitchen.
Naquan Kelly was one of the concierges there and he was especially helpful.
- Alexander (9/5): -
- Jessica (9/5): It was really peaceful. - Breakfast was really nice. The room was wonderful as well. I wish I could have stayed longer. There is nothing that I didn’t like.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very nice Hotel, a little crowded in the breakfast area with the remodel currently going on, but overall very nice.
- Kenneth (10/5): Great stay - Room was great and handicapped accessible for me. Jamar took care of our car, our bags and everything in between.
Great stay!
- Barry (10/5): - Always our go to when visiting Charleston
- Dussault (7/5): - Roof bar Breakfast stop in 5 second
- Anton (10/5): -
- Yuliia (9/5): -
- 707debrar (8/5): Valets were great . Caleb , Ty and Jose. They all were very good to my husband and my self. - Room service was not the greatest. I was there from July 14 until August 20. I was in Charleston for treatment at MUSC for my cancer. Overall staying in a hotel for that long was to had.
- Erin (3/5): Friendly staff but bed bugs in our room - I liked that the rooms very spacious Our room was beautiful but after going to sleep the sheets felt itchy and I awoke in the am to multiple bed bug bites from me and my son
- Peter (8/5): - Great breakfast & Location
- Melanie (10/5): -
- Richard (10/5): - I thought this place was amazing! I love that King St is extremely walkable luxury shopping, many famous sights to see, great restaurants and places to have drinks! On top of all that (pun intended) the rooftop beer tasting is something to see and try! The pool area was warm but the water was freezing. The room was spacious, the shower was huge with great pressure and very hot water. We checked out the same day new renovations began. I would be excited to return and see how it changes.
- CindyW84 (8/5): Weekend Getaway - The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Enjoyed having the kitchen in the room. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. We did the valet parking and never had to wait long for the car. Loved the convenience of walking to many restaurants. Our only complaint was the indoor pool was very cold and no hot tub.
- Jeannie (10/5): - We enjoyed the roof top bar and grill. The staff was great and the food delicious. Did not have to go out to eat as we were set to go on a buggy ride and did not wish to be late.
- Drew (8/5): - The general manager was extremely nice and very approachable. I'd stay there again in a minute. Thanks,
- Joanie (6/5): Disappointed - The location was great! The staff was friendly!!! Our room was not ready until 3:58pm even though I requested an earlier check-in with the message sent to me by Hyatt House that morning offering early check-in. Our room was quite outdated & needed attention to paint & repairs. Air conditioning wasn’t working properly.
Very disappointed for the price we paid!!!
- Robin (2/5): - This hotel was so dated also staff was rude. Things were broken and dirty
- jinnykwon (2/5): Disappointing Hyatt Experience - The property felt outdated - room didn't feel fresh and the dishwasher smelled really bad which make the kitchen smell like vomit. The breakfast is mediocre - fruits didn't taste fresh and eggs weren't cooked right. We won't stay at this property again.
- carolinefM6042QF (2/5): Complete Disaster - I booked two rooms for one night, one for me and one for my cousin. I booked the rooms through booking.com. When we arrived at the check-in desk we were asked to put down another card for incidentals. My cousin gave his card thinking he would be charged then reimbursed for the incidental hold once we checked out. Instead, he was charged for a full room while I was still charged for 2 rooms through booking.com. Ultimately, we paid for 3 rooms instead of the 2 we booked and used. We called the hotel and no staff was willing to help. We requested a manager and were denied. We also called corporate Hyatt whose accounting department claimed we were only charged for 2 rooms. They were not willing to hear us out even when we offered to show them the 3 rooms charged to our credit cards. We ultimately needed to submit a dispute with our credit card companies. On top of it all, the rooms were not worth what we paid, outdated and dark. They felt dirty and the rugs had stains all over them. Overall, this was a very unpleasant experience and we will definitely be staying elsewhere the next time we need to book a hotel.
- Kyle (10/5): - The staff and facilities were great. The room was clean and comfortable. The only 2 negatives i really had were that you had to pay to park and the indoor pool was really cold, but not unbearable. The kids really enjoyed it.
- Rachel (10/5): - Staff and food at the rooftop bar, Pour, were amazing!
- Adriana (10/5): - Excellent
- Elton (4/5): - Lobby was nice but for $350 the room needed remodeled and $50 for parking.
- Ameer (4/5): - Staff was bad, our check in was more than 2 hours after check in time. They didn’t give us a late checkout. Only good thing was location and room size.
- Jack (6/5): We didn’t hate it but we probably won’t ever stay there again - It was clean and comfortable It was too far from the active part of the city so we couldn’t walk to shops and restaurants
- Chasity (6/5): Short Family Trip - Came to Charleston for my son to do a College Tour and stayed here for 3 nights. Hotel room was nice and clean. Breakfast was Okay, ( could have had more variety for what you pay). The Turkey sausage was like rubber and the turkey bacon was over cooked that it just crumbled into pieces. They do have a waffle station to make your own ( so if you like waffles, you’re good). The Hotel itself doesn’t have Parking, but has either Valet parking $49/day or the Public Parking Garage which is next door and charges you each time you come and go. Overall, the location is great for being on King Street with Restaurants and shopping within walking distance.

- Roam31413445607 (10/5): Couples Anniversary Celebration on King Street - Traveled to Charleston to celebrate an Anniversary in July with my husband. Emailed the hotel a "request" for a higher floor with nice view. Ms. Rashica got back to me with a complimentary upgrade to a city view for our Anniversary and thanked me for being a Discoverist with Hyatt. Weeks later we decided to extend our stay. She made it so easy and referenced our reservations guaranteeing we would not have to change rooms. When we checked in there was a nice bottle of wine waiting for us and a sunny, corner room on the 8th floor. The room was comfy, and large with convenient amenities. A/C worked well and they had nice blackout shades. Bed was comfy too! There is no safe in the room, however the hotel is undergoing renovations soon, and will be getting them from what I was told. Included, hot breakfast in the morning was convenient and plentiful.
The staff was great! Ms. Sheena from Kingston was a doll! Darnell was always helpful. Ms. Asheinna (spelling ?) was so sweet and made sure our needs were taken care of at the front desk.
The hotel is in a great location in the Upper King St. area. It felt safe to walk around at night and easy to get to everything. There are a ton of great restaurants! It is about a 30 min. walk to the French Quarter which is great. Temps were just too hot while we were there to make the most out of walking however. We took rickshaws to the French Quarter for $10.00 per person / 10 min. rides. They were so relaxing and convenient. There was also a Carta bus(#211) just a block from the hotel that you could take to the historic district for no cost, but we didn't try it. Uber/Lyft were available and convenient for under $15.00 o/w usually.
We would definitely return. They Hyatt House felt like a home away from home with the longer stay we had. The extra space and the kitchen were definitely appreciated ..Highly recommend :)
- Paul (2/5): - My family and I had such a poor experience at the Hyatt hotel in Charleston. It started when we tried to check in. They had poor customer service on the phone. Initially, the lady had hung up on us. The second time we called back, they gave us attitude and told us to call back around 1300. The third time we called back, she was extremely short, stating that the reason we couldn’t see that we were already checked in was because we used Expedia. I asked about obtaining an itemized receipt, she advised me to simply take a screenshot of the charges that were sent to my phone. I was questioning why I was being overcharged, and there was confusion because there was a pre-charge early in May. A lot of the charge issues could’ve been handled had I gotten an itemized receipt copy, but she would not provide me with one. When I left, I realized I did not get room cards. She said that she did give them to me, but I must’ve lost them. I never found them throughout the trip, because she did not give them to me. At the end of the trip was another terrible experience with Geoffrey. We were trying to check out around 4 a.m. in order to make our travel home. And we did not get a check-out email. Upon approaching him, he was immediately disgruntled. We said that we were here to check out, and he told us that he was busy doing audits. I then had to ask him how long the audits would take. He responded, I don’t know, maybe about 20 minutes. This is unacceptable, especially with flights.
