• cherylnD5955XU (10/5): A Wonderful Stay in Buffalo & Amherst - We very much enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt Place Buffalo/Amherst. The location was excellent, with easy access to everything in Buffalo while Amherst was just a quick drive away. The hotel staff were lovely — warm, welcoming, and friendly throughout our visit. We also really enjoyed the pool and gym, as well as the free breakfast and free parking, which were all great amenities to have during our stay. Our room was large and very clean. We would happily stay here again!

• JohnP10079 (4/5): Hyatt Place has lost its luster. - Very good location. Not too loud. Comfortable beds and good bathroom. Food at "the placery" was poor. Breakfast bar was mediocre at best. Cleaning staff will likely not clean your room during your stay. I have stayed here multiple times and it is unfortunate to see the dramatic fall off. This was my last stay.

Other than that, pretty good stay Could have been 20/30 bucks cheaper and carried Coors light.. or been stocked with Michelob ultra..

• TomN598 (10/5): A Cut Above The Rest - The Hyatt is a cut above all the rest of the hotels I normally stay in. This location is exceptionally clean, professional, quiet, with wonderfully appointed rooms. The front desk staff were excellent as well. To top it off, the breakfast is amazing!! I felt noticeably relaxed and refreshed after my stay here.

• garybW1545DT (10/5): Wonderful Hotel - Very nice hotel, appears to be almost new. Convenient location, near the interstate. I asked for a quiet room, so they put me at the end of the hall. Being an end room, it had an unusual layout which I happen to like, not the standard cookie-cutter room. It also had a stall shower rather than a tub, more kudos. Basically a very nice room (#329), though there was a noisy blower motor in the wall. I mentioned it as a maintenance issue, hopefully it will be fixed. Excellent breakfast buffet, too. Happy to recommend.

• ericmJ1044YN (2/5): Avoid This Location – Not Up to Hyatt Standards - I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I’ve had in a long time. We arrived late at around 9:30 PM and were assigned Room 128, a first-floor room right beside a side entrance—high traffic, noisy, and not ideal. When I asked if a higher-floor room was available, I was told the hotel was fully booked, without any real effort to check or accommodate the request. The room itself was clearly not ready for guests. The toilet was clogged upon arrival, and we had to call maintenance immediately. There was also a dead bug in the shower, which is simply unacceptable from a cleanliness standpoint. To make matters worse, the heater wasn’t working properly, leaving the room cold and uncomfortable—especially for my wife and daughter. We’ve stayed at many Hyatt Place properties across the U.S., and they’ve always been consistent and reliable. This location, however, fell far below brand standards. Multiple issues at check-in, combined with a lack of proactive service, made this stay particularly frustrating. This stay took away from what should have been an enjoyable trip to the Buffalo/Niagara Falls area. Based on this experience, I would not return, and I would strongly recommend considering other hotels nearby.
• Andrea (7/5): Decent but won’t return. - Good location, clean, nice rooms. The bedding, mattress and pillows were very uncomfortable. noise from air conditioner and heat unit was loud. I could hear children running upstairs above us. House keeping came early in the morning banging on the door and woke up my kids at 915 when check out wasn’t until 12.

• Samantha (1/5): Poor - I like the location itself and the look of the property The bathroom was dirty, hair that wasn’t mine all over the tub, the bedding was stained and the extra blanket I pulled out to use was tattered and ripped and just a bath blanket. The couch that was in the room was dirty also. I also left a bag of my hair care products and they kept it and told me they didn’t have it. I’ll never stay here, and will not recommend to anyone.

• Salvatore (7/5): Nice hotel but make sure you ask to not be on the same floor as travel teams. - Rooms were nice. Clean. Pool was nice. Breakfast was good. Facilities in general were pleasant especially for the value. We (single family) were put on a floor with a block of rooms for a travel hockey team for some reason? Needless to say they were not pleasant neighbors. Finally at midnight after nearly 2 hours of kids running up and down the halls, screaming, and drunk parents doing nothing or being just as obnoxious we had enough. I tried to call the front desk but the room's phone did not work. I tried to call on my cellphone but no one answered. Finally went down to the desk itself and no one was there. After 5 or so minutes standing there someone came over from the bar and asked if I needed something. I told him the issue and he said he'd come upstairs to check. Shortly after it settled down. Absolutely miserable night of little sleep. Where the heck was the staff?
• krystenl2026 (4/5): Not what I expected - The hotel allows 2 water bottles a day for free as a member, but there is not water dispenser available. One must use tap water for the coffee machine, if you can figure out the coffee machine. There are not directions. Also, in order to use the phone, you have to put it on speaker to get a dial tone. I didn't realize until our 2nd night that on the side of one of the mattresses there was a very large blood stain. Then, I noticed that blood must have gotten on the gray base of the bed too because you could see that someone tried to clean it, but just wiped it along the base throughout the fabric. Our toilet was running, and couldn't be flushed upon arrival, and there was no fan in the bathroom for the steam.

• rajeevc200 (4/5): AC made a howling noise at night - The air conditioner made a horrible howling noise at night and made it difficult to sleep. I called the front desk to let them know and it was so loud it made speaking on the phone difficult and the woman on the phone said she could hear it in the background.
• Gramps25 (10/5): Surprisingly Excellent - I visited the Hyatt Place Buffalo for the first time a couple of weeks ago and was very glad that I did. The property itself is excellent. It is in a great location, easy to find, plenty around it and (when there's no snow), plenty of parking. The people working the front desk were very friendly and efficient at both check-in and check-out. The lobby was very warm and inviting, especially after a long drive to get there. The room itself was outstanding. Plenty of room, very comfortable bed, plenty of lights, blackout blinds were excellent, heat worked perfectly, bed was very comfortable and the TV had a nice variety of channels. The bathroom was very well lit, the water pressure was excellent, hot water came quickly and there were plenty of soft towels. If I am ever in the area again, I would not hesitate to stay here.

• jessicacD16RH (2/5): Horrible service and parking - Service is horrible. When we checked in, they told us they were sold out of our king room that we had already pre booked and paid for. They finally did find “the last one” for us after we demanded it. And the parking and valet is a joke. It’s a traffic Jam when you arrive, and it will take well over an hour to get your car back. We ended up asking for our keys and walking a very long distance to get our car back just so we could leave.

• denisemac63 (10/5): Convenient and super friendly staff - Conveniently located if you are planning on attending a Buffalo Bills game or heading to the airport. There were many stores located close by. The pool and spa were great for the kids. They served a free hot breakfast every morning. We traveled with about 30 family members for a birthday party and then attending the Bills game on Sunday with some family coming from Connecticut and others from Canada. It was a great meeting place. They even sold some Bills clothing in case you didn't have any. The hotel did a great job in making sure that all of our rooms were located right next to each other. We have traveled in large groups before and some hotels were not as accommodating. We were able to rent out two of their meeting rooms on Saturday night to have a party in there. The rooms were large enough to play games like Cornhole and we were able to cater in our own food and brought our own sodas and water. The staff helped us all night long with bringing out garbage, setting up tables and chairs and they did this all with a smile on their face. Great staff! If you are a World of Hyatt member you can download a digital key and even use your Apple Watch to open up your door. It was very convenient. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone heading to Buffalo.

• 548arlenet (10/5): Very nice, would stay here again. - Came for an overnight stay because my daughter had her dental school interview. Hotel was very conveniently located with ample parking. Room was clean and spacious. Bed and pillows were comfy. Breakfast had a lot of choices and was adequate. Coffee could be a bit stronger, but that's what I like. They were testing the water and left notice that water might be out for about two hours. Because of this, I asked for a late check out so I have time to shower before I left. They were able to accommodate me on short notice. Small gym, but there is an indoor pool and hot tub.

The shower curtain was too short and, therefore, wall leaked on the floor. None of the breakfast items were hot.

• 801Mind (2/5): Not Great - We appreciated the breakfast. It was decent. Not the best, not the worst, bagels, toast, eggs, breakfast meat, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal and waffles. Okay quality for a free meal. The cleanliness of the room was a different story. Were we arrived to our first room there was a stain in each bedspread. The bathroom had hair all over it. Several in the sink and between 10-15 in the tub. It was the worse condition I’ve seen a hotel room in. I went down to the front desk and reported the conditions. The front desk agent quickly changed us to another room. The beds didn’t have stains on them, but did have hair on them. The tub had 1-2 hairs and the worst of all the toilet had what appeared to be a pubic hair on it. I ended up cleaning all of it myself because I didn’t think a different room would have made any difference at that point. The cupboard door to the fridge was broken so it would shut properly. The blinds had stains on them. I do not know if housekeeping is just not good at cleaning the hair up from previous guest or if they are losing their own hair as they clean but it’s disgusting. The beds were not made well. The sheets were hanging off and too big, the mattress pads were hanging out the bottom of the sheets. The room overall felt old and in need of updating
• Darian (6/5): Disappointed with the dining experience - I stayed 2 days for business. I went down to the placery to get lunch after returning from a morning meeting. I sat for 30 mins at a table with a menu and no one took my order, there was nothing that indicated how to place an order. I had to go back to my room starving to take the rest of my for other calls for the afternoon finally at 5pm I drove to Wendy’s to get something to eat. Disappointed as the selling point for me was the restaurant in the hotel. When you travel alone you don’t want to have to go out by yourself.

The rooms are well-appointed and of a good size. The exercise room offers up-to-date equipment. This Hyatt property provides a larger breakfast selection than other Hyatt Place properties. At breakfast, we were greeted and spoiled by the attention Timothy provided. Hyatt take NOTE Timothy is a great ambassador for you!

• mikyungj2025 (2/5): Disappointing Experience Due to Bedbug Infestation - My family and I stayed at Hyatt Place Buffalo/Amherst for three nights. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing due to a severe bedbug infestation in our room. All family members were bitten multiple times, which caused sleepless nights, discomfort, and significant stress throughout the stay. In addition to the physical discomfort, we were concerned that the bedbugs might have traveled with us, which forced us to carefully clean our belongings and even discard some personal items. This added unnecessary financial and emotional burden to an already distressing situation. Although our stay was booked using Free Night Awards, these nights required a Hyatt-affiliated credit card and meeting specific spending requirements, so they represent a real financial investment. The compensation for some points was completely inadequate for three nights compromised by serious health and safety issues. Despite multiple attempts to contact Hyatt’s corporate office via email and follow-ups, we have not received a satisfactory response. This experience reflects a failure in Hyatt’s responsibility to provide a safe and sanitary environment. While Hyatt properties usually have good reputations, I cannot recommend this hotel based on our stay. I hope Hyatt takes serious corrective measures to prevent future guests from experiencing similar issues.

The room was comfortable, but there were stains on the carpet and the fridge didn’t work properly. Blackout blinds and a clean shower were a plus. The pool was open, though part of it was under heavy maintenance, and the hot tub could have been hotter. Free parking and Wi-Fi were appreciated. For a Hyatt, I expected more overall. Decent stay, but plenty of other options in the Buffalo area. ★★★
