Guest Reviews
- Y4517UUsandrah (10/5): Great Value , restful - Peaceful friendly Riad . Clean comfortable rooms , lovely staff and enormous breakfast 🤣
- 801nehirg (10/5): A Beautiful Moroccan Experience🥰🥰 - I stayed at Riad Princesse du Desert for three nights. The place is beautiful and very clean. The staff was friendly and helped us with everything. The location is perfect, close to the main square. I really enjoyed the rooftop terrace. I would love to come back again one day.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Personalen var väldigt trevliga och måna av att vi skulle har en bra vistelse i Marrakesh, gav råd och tips om ställen att besöka.
- Vanessa (10/5): - Muy bien
- Darren (10/5): - The host and staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The property like many Riads in the Medina is a little tricky to find at first. But, the location is very close to all the things you want to see. I'd happily stay again.
- HKillDWel (10/5): Lovely place to explore and relax - Lovely place, 5 minutes walk to the souks and museums, set in a quiet street. You're around 10/15 minutes walk to the Main Square Jemaa el-Fnaa. Gorgeous room and bathroom! I enjoyed breakfast here and chilled on the roof terrace with a book some days.
The main thing for me, a female travelling alone, was that I felt very safe and looked after here. The manager gave me good basic advice for how to get by in Marrakech, but reassured me I was safe, and I did feel it. The staff were so friendly too. I really recommend this place.
I found it very reassuring to book the return taxi with them, who brought me to and from the riad. Trust me, do it!
I also booked some excursions through the Riad, which were very well organised, and I was taken from my door too!
- Explore33091337368 (10/5): A true riad experience - Incredible service. Me and my girlfriend were warmly welcomed on our first night and served tea on arrival. Rooms were nice and clean with service provided during the day. There is also a presence at all times in case of need in the riad. I rarely write reviews but felt this place truly deserved one. We only had a 2 night stay planned but wished to stay an extra day in Marrakesh, they managed to accomodate us and get us another night in a different room. The breakfast served was good and sufficient and the setup/ambiance allows you to either sit on couch or far from other travellers or sit at the main center table if you want to chat and meet others. The wifi is good, and the staff was beyond accomodating with also no hassle or pressure. It felt calm and away from the typical vendors or people trying to offer you services for money. We even brought up ourselves the possibly of travelling to ouarzazate and beyond all the way to Merzouga to the manager and we had a honest conversation on the different options that locals or tourists could use with the manager from taxis, bus, rental cars, tours etc. He took the time to talk to us with what seemed to us no intent to sell a particular service or option. We came back the next day and informed him of our plans, he organized what we wanted at a very reasonable price. On top of it, I would consider the price of the room quite reasonable. Location is ideal in my opinion for a Marrakech trip as, the roads around are easy to navigate and safe plus, the distances to the sites are manageable by walk even though probably not the closest. It is also walkable from the modern side of the city on arrival/outside the medina. We arrived by train and it took us I believe half an hour from the station. The appeal of a Marrakesh trip is to walk around and the distance seemed perfect for us. They also provided a small map and gave us recommendations to see around the city.
Incredible experience, would recommend. We stayed in both their buildings. They accepted our credit card but, if you plan on asking help to book other services beyond the room, I recommend bringing extra cash to cover the expenses.
- 196francescaw (8/5): Great location, friendly staff, would highly recommend - Very friendly helpful staff, we were given info & map on things to do in marrakech when we arrived as well as mint tea & biscuits. Good breakfasts-lots of food and when we had to leave before breakfast time started they provided us with a packed breakfast. Roof terrace very nice for sunbathing. Room was good for the price as a place to sleep/shower and they were cleaned &tidied daily. Only negative was Riad evening food expensive compared to eating out in Marrakesh. Location perfect for walking around marrakech, would highly recommended
- Madalinamanon (10/5): Best choice for Marrakesh - We had an excellent stay at this Riad! Accommodation was as described and a bit more; clean, comfortable bedding, enough space (important detail for Marrakesh), including common areas; customer service - I’d give them A++. Location was perfect- close to the square market, the Bazaar, all the central attractions, including a nice 20 min walk to Jardin Majorelle. Central yet quiet, with coffee shops and small shopping area within 100 m walk. Could not have chosen better! Strongly recommended!
- dwillcox1 (10/5): Hidden Oasis - We had a fleeting last minute trip to Marrakech and stayed at this riad for two nights. Hidden deep in the medina in amongst the gorgeous pink walls, this riad is a little oasis. We arrived pretty late at night and our hosts could not have been more welcoming. The mint tea on arrival was lovely and refreshing, and our room was very clean and cozy. Very traditionally furnished and decorated - super cute. The bed was very, very comfortable. Breakfast was a Moroccan feast of fresh juice, tea, coffee, pastries, eggs, fruit and preserves. They really spoil you. The rooftop is an absolute sun trap - make sure to put your feet up and chill out after a day in the souks. It’s needed! We had a late flight home (check out is at 12) but our hosts very kindly welcomed us to still use the rooftop and to allow us to change and freshen up before heading to the airport. Thank you so much for having us, you made our trip so special.
- Gabriella (10/5): - Very intimate. It felt like being in another world. Wonderful people and service
- Keith (8/5): - A nice stay in a traditional Riad.
- martaaK881PC (10/5): Nice place and great service - My stay at this riad was a very pleasant experience. Mohammed was very kind and polite. His advice and recommendations were very helpful. All the staff was always willing to assist. Nice room and peaceful interior garden. The breakfast was generous and delicious. I will definitely go back to this riad if I decide to visit Marrakesch again.
- CrepoyV (10/5): Morocco holiday - Me and my friend went on a week holiday in Morocco and we stayed in this lovely riad. First and foremost the service the staff gave was excellent. They were honest in giving the best recommendations on where to visit and eat, arrange your tours, and make your overall stay comfortable and pleasant. The riad is located near the souks which is quite handy, considering the Medina is like a maze!
Definitely will come back in our next Morocco holiday! Thank you
P.s. the owner and Mohammed were amazing! and also to the gentleman always wearing a red hoodie/ red polo (forgot the name) is very helpful!
- manuelpJ6443DC (2/5): BEWARE THEY CAN TAKE YOUR MONEY. - I write to share my experience with this Riad and warn all Trip Advisor readers to make their reservations through an internet travel portal.
In January 2020 I stayed for a week in this riad with my wife, we found them reliable, charming and helpful.
When our stay ended, they offered us the possibility of contracting directly with them the next time so that it would be cheaper as there was no agency commission.
The following month through Western Union we sent him 138.90 euros for a reservation from May 23 to 26, 2020. (Later we had the Covid 19 pandemic and it was not possible to travel).
Ryanair canceled the flights to Marrakeck and refunded the money. So I got in touch with Youseff through e-mail. Many e-mails have been sent, most of them unanswered, until last week I traveled back to Marrakech and visited the Riad to get an answer about my case, but he didn't help me.
He told me that he couldn't return my money, that's why I'm telling my experience to warn future travelers.
- Djebari (6/5): - Rapport qualite prix
Hote accueillant et disponible
Petit dejeuner correct
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good - Friendly hosts and a nice breakfast. They were happy to help.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I really enjoyed my stay there, the staff were extremely polite and helpful and they made us feel at home
- Betty lou (8/5): Marrakech trip - Enlightening trip to Marrakech. Authentic accommodation. Filling breakfast. Able to walk to lots of places, hence good location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Probably a typical Riad along a few alleyways. Set as 2 separate houses. Everything was basic but ok. Staff attentive and pleasant. Breakfast a mixture of cakes and batter-based pancakes plus small yogurt and sweet mint tea and coffee. Overall perfectly ok. We would next time (hypothetical only because we wouldn’t ever go back to Marrakech. Constant hassle and deceptive behaviour towards the “cash cow” tourists by most people you meet) spend more on a modern hotel because if we could afford it.
- Maria (10/5): - El Riad esta cerca de todo, tiene muy buena ubicación y en una zona muy tranquila.
- Yamina (10/5): - Très bon accueil, personnel agréable et souriant.séjour au top
- Nea (4/5): - People are very friendly. Riad is cold - we had to eat breakfast in our coats (it's the same every day) rooms very dated and old. Lack of hot water. Impossible to park near riad. Iwouldn't return.
- Mary Jane (10/5): I would stay here again - Initially, I thought it too far from the main square, but we found our way to everywhere we wanted to go..,thank you Google. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The tasty breakfast was very good. Wear good walking shoes in Marrakech and be sure to listen, as the alleys are used by pedestrians, motor bikes, donkey carts, etc. It’s a great city!
- Lilly (8/5): Gastfreundliches, kleines Riad in der Medina - Ruhige Lage in der Medina.
Fussläufig sind die meisten Sehenswürdigkeiten gut zu erreichen.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent Hospitality - The staff at La Rose couldn't have been nicer. They were genuinely friendly and kind, and did all possible to ensure that I was comfortable. I would be glad to stay there again.
- Tony (8/5): Really Welcoming - Youseff and his staff make you feel so welcome and offer you support to make the most of your time in Marrakech. Good trips on offer and there are well organised. I would suggest booking the taxi from the airport shich whilst maybe a little more expensive it will get you to the Riad first time. Not easy to find the Riad if you just turn up in Marrakech.
- Jake (8/5): A nice Riad in a perfect location. - A nice Riad in a perfect location. Only 10 minutes walk to the main square and about the same to the Souks. The staff were very friendly and they arranged a transfer for us from the airport which was brilliant.
I have two bad comments. The first would be noise from other guests which woke us up regularly. Whilst this is not the fault of the hotel, more can be done to encourage guests to be quiet. The second was the smell of damp in the bathroom which was not pleasant.
Breakfast was nice and there was a slight variance every day with plenty of coffee and mint tea on offer as well as freshly squeezed orange juice.
For a short stay, this Riad is great. Prime location, friendly staff and at the right price.
- Verified traveler (10/5): A fascinating experience - Im am pleased beyond word with my stay in this hotel in the middle of the Marrakech community. I could not think of any better place to stay when coming back here. It feels like you're a part of Marrakech, instead of a visitor. The people in this hotel are incredibly attentive and nice, the food is amazing and is not expensive. The rooms have everything you could need.I am certainly coming back soon and this is the place im coming back to. Thank you Youssef and all the staff for the amazing time we spent with you.
- Helena (8/5): Riad in Marrakech away from all the busyness - Youssef and all the staff were quite helpful and respectful. Nothing was ever a burden. We stayed on the blue riad, it is true, you can hear the adhan, but that is normal, being that it is a Muslim country.
It looks like a typical morrocan house with little garden inside , it was very pretty and clean. Towels were changed everyday, rooms cleaned everyday. Our room was a decent size, and wifi connection was okay.
It can be quite cool in the evening, but nothing that an extra duvet will not solve.
Breakfast was a trio of breads, morrocan mint tea, coffee, fresh orange juice and trio of spreads.
The Riad is quite hard to find at first, we booked a transfer from the airport with youssef, but once you locate the palace dar el pasha it's easy to get to.
We chose to have dinner at the riad twice during our stay (it has supplementary cost), and the three meal course was divine. I personally recommend the chicken tagine with lemon and olives.
Next time in Marrakech I will stay here!
- Lukasz (10/5): Great riad in the heart of Medina - I usually don't write reviews but for this guys I have to. Excellent stay. Great riad in the heart of Medina. Friendly staff, clean rooms, tasty breakfast and great value for money. In our trip to Marrakech we stayed in two different riads and the other one was nowhere close to this one. Don't look any further. Thanks guys.
