Guest Reviews
- Lisa (3/5): Not sure I would stay there again - It was clean The staff was terrible. They were very unprofessional. They tried billing me after I had left additional fees when I questioned them. They were very rude. Also, the soundproofing in the whole hotel is terrible. You could hear everything above you below you into the side of you.
- Sharon (10/5): - The property was immaculate both outside and inside. Both women who were working the front desk at check-in and check-out were very friendly and helpful. During my evening there, the tornado sirens went off and I received a call immediately from the front desk instructing me as to the safest places to be on the property. Thankfully, the storm passed over the area without causing any damage.
- Elisabeth (10/5): Sehr angenehm 👍 - Personal Nichts
- Seeley (8/5): -
- Sharon (9/5): We would absolutely stay there again. - All was fine. All was good.
- Orozco Angel (8/5): -
- Bob Ungs (8/5): - It was clean and comfortable. Location was perfect for attending a wedding in Clarion. Generally overpriced, but I get it that there's not exactly a huge market. Breakfast was mediocre.
- Marie (10/5): -
- Thomas, Kathryn (10/5): - Sparkling clean, beautifully decorated, comfortable beds, quiet, friendly accommodating staff. A small town gem!
- Lena (10/5): - I always stay here when I’m in Clarion
It’s a great hotel
- Stephanie (10/5): - Beds were comfortable and the room was clean.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - The "bar" that was mentioned on the website did not say just wine and beer, nor did it indicate it was in a room that looked like a storeroom, nothing like a bar should look. Cold egg rounds and soggy sausage for breakfast. Coffee was good :).
- Dennis (6/5): It’s about the best place to stay only because it’s about the only place to stay. Over priced! - Clean and convenient for our needs Way too expensive. Almost $200 a night for Clarion, Iowa is ludicrous. They must know my only alternative is to stay with my brother-in-law! Also for that kind of money, I expect daily maid service, decent toilet paper and a bathroom door that’s not falling off its hinges. (Hotel-if you’re reading this, check room 214.) The bed was also like a swayback horse.
- LANNY (9/5): -
- Eric (10/5): - Great stay
- Kara (10/5): - Water pressure was extremely strong. Very clean, safe for women traveling alone.
- Ann (4/5): Don't stay here! - The customer service here was awful! High incidental fees are ridiculous! Highest room cost on my entire trip, but worst customer service and amenities. They probably think they can get away with it since there's not much else in the area, but they will still lose business treating customers that way. It wasn't just our group - it was everyone staying that weekend. So many complaints!
- Lisa (9/5): Superb -
- Orlando (8/5): - Placement of the room! Would have rarher been away from the main entrance
- Luther (10/5): - Clean, friendly staff
- Sheryl (10/5): - No thanks
- Zoey (10/5): Exceptional - Hotel was clean quiet comfortable beds and pillows breakfast was decent close to my business destination Cheap wine in the bar
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deborah (6/5): - The beds are too tall. I am 57 and couldn’t sit on the bed to get in. I had to lay on my stomach scoot across the bed until I had enough room to swing one leg up and then roll until I could get the second leg up. Also, the mattress was a little too firm for my arthritis.
- Miller (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alissa (8/5): Very good - Very clean room, great water pressure and friendly staff the beds were extremely high so it was sometimes difficut to get in them.
- Tracy (8/5): - Great staff, so very welcoming.
- Dj (6/5): - Decent bed a little stiff
- James (10/5): - Very nice staff
- Chrisstine (9/5): Superb -
- Scott (8/5): Very good - Clean. Comfortable rooms. Worst breakfast. Not once but over several stays.
- Sandy (10/5): Very pleased - Very friendly staff and the room was clean and comfortable. We will definitely stay here again if we are in the area.
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barry (10/5): - Great place
- Dennis (5/5): The old addage of "You get what you pay for" didn't align. - Location was ok for breakfast but the breakfast itself lacked quality and substance - we went elsewhere. We couldn't find a light switch to turn on to visit with family in the TV lunging area so we basically visited in the dark!
Reception staff was ok but not very professional with quickness (on the phonw prior to check-in day before) and at the counter day of (attitude was not the best).
- Jeremy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mandy (10/5): Had an excellent experience. - It was clean, staff was excellent and it was very convenient to where we were going.
- Jane (8/5): - TV’s were too loud in breakfast area.
Stale smoke smell.
Friendly staff and very helpful.
Easy check in.
- Scott (9/5): Superb -
- Hazel (9/5): It was good - It was a much larger room than expected .
- Jackie (10/5): - Nice clean place to stay! Will stay again when back in the area.
- John (7/5): Good - breakfast was pretty weak.
- Adrianne (9/5): Superb -
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (10/5): - It was a safe place to sleep on our trip, while avoiding the flooded areas around. The room was clean but didn't smell fresh.
- Eric (10/5): - Very clean and quiet
- Hauser (7/5): Good enough for one night. Would not stay on a n extended basis. Overpriced. - The location was good for our needs. It was an older hotel and not up to date. I feel the cost was high for the quality of the property. We didn't have a lot of options.
- Jacob (8/5): - There’s a nice bar the Bru that you can walk too
- Angela (10/5): - The staff at this property is amazing….the facilities are perfectly cleaned, rooms quiet and comfortable. Would recommend and definitely would stay here again!
- Alan (9/5): Stayed there a couple times and will stay there again if necessary. -
- Snyder (10/5): Exceptional -
- PETER (10/5): - Great place and ppl
- Samantha (5/5): Passable - Clean The confusion of check in
- Lori (10/5): - We we’re here for a wedding and it was a great stay! The staff was friendly and the rooms are great. Good hot breakfast in the morning!
- LAURIE (10/5): - Short stay, pricey though
- Gail (6/5): - When we arrived late on Friday evening the police were there and someone was in the lobby either stoned out of their mind/and or drunk. They allowed this obnoxious person to stay there and didn't remove them from the property. This was NOT inviting to the customer, nor did you, the front desk person nor the police remove them and allowed them to stay there even after the police officer left. THIS IS NOT A PLACE I would ever recommend nor stay ever again. Then to receive my bill and it was much more than quoted. For this type of service and atmosphere in Clarion, IA, where there is NOTHING to raise the price on me on a Saturday night because you were full is ridiculous! I am going to report this to the better business bureau as a place that isn't desirable to stay as OBVIOUSLY the customers feelings are not important. And, to state there is breakfast included is ridiculous for what was offered.
- PETER (8/5): - need an elevator
- Wesley (8/5): Very good -
- Scott (8/5): Very good -
- Keith (10/5): The Cobblestone Inn & Suites is a great place to stay! - Staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel was clean and seemed to be cared for. There was a small bar where wine and beer was available. A hot free breakfast was provided. It definitely met my needs.
- Michael (9/5): Superb - Great spot, blah breakfast Options
- Lance (10/5): - Clean, quiet and comfortable place to stay.
- Li (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. None.
- Patricia (9/5): We had a great time and will stay there again. - We were in town for a class reunion. The small bar was great for a little get together after the reunion. Several of us were staying at the Cobblestone. The breakfast was great! Nothing bad to say!
- Patrick (10/5): Wonder place to stay, will consider this chain again if opportunity arises. - Great staff, clean rooms, nice breakfast Nothing
- Melissa (8/5): Very good -
- Elaine (8/5): Two-Day Stay - The facility was clean and the room was spacious enough for our needs. Breakfast selection was somewhat limite3d compared to other locations I have traveled recently. The one aspect I would recommend changing is the procedure that no one is at the front desk most of the time and the customer has to pick up a phone to alert someone. There would be a more welcome and secure feeling if a person were present.
- Victor (8/5): - I thought the staff could have been friendlier, but the room was amazing. Also, I thought they served breakfast, but I didn't see any. Overall, they were great but a little overpriced for my taste.
- Marilyn (10/5): Exceptional - Left before breakfast was ready
- Wendell (10/5): great staff, pleasant stay. - clean and hospitable NA
- Chrisstine (9/5): Nice quiet location. - It was small, quiet. It was very clean. I booked a suite, but if that was a suite there was no separation between the bedroom and the sitting area.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Stop buying the cheapest toilet paper and Kleenex. Thanks!
- Debbie (10/5): Nice place! - The room was really nice and the breakfast was great. Also, the lady at the front desk was super nice.
- Tammy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Scott (8/5): Very good -
- Layna (5/5): Passable -
- Elisha (10/5): Great stay in a little town - Clean room, nice large king size bed.
Stairwells we’re freezing cold.
Quick check in & check out even at 4 am.
- Debbie (10/5): Great Place to Stay - The lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful. They had a really breakfast spread, with lots of choices. I fell right asleep in the room and that's unusual for me. The pillows and the bed were soft. No elevator. We had to haul luggage upstairs.
- pavel (8/5): - Clean and peaceful.
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicholas (9/5): Relaxing - Friendly staff Good
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jacquline (7/5): It was nice place for a short stay. - The room was nicely appointed. It was big and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. I was surprised at how large the refrigerator was and that was a really nice surprise. The bathroom - I was in room 206 and the shower had me standing in ankle-deep water. There is an issue with the drainage. Plus the walls were peeling. Good shower pressure - but it sucks that it didn't drain well.
I really wish they had an elevator, I know it is only two floors - but when you have lots of things to bring up - it's a pain.
The breakfast was ok - nothing to write home about.
- Marty (8/5): - Nice clean modern hotel with good people working here. Only thing missing for me is an elevator so have to lug stuff up the steps.
- Timothy (10/5): I enjoyed our stay. Everything was as it was in the pictures online. - The room and building were clean and first class and the bed was very comfortable. Close to railroad tracks. WIFI pass word didn't work and the TV picture quality was bad. But the main reason for staying wasn't those things.
- Eileen (9/5): Superb - The beds too high, to get into.
- Janelle (7/5): Good -
- Tiffany (8/5): Very good - The beds were comfy and all facilities were clean. Friendly staff. No coffee in either pot (there were 2) when we checked out around 9:30 I let the front desk worker know and she responded with "it was full an hour ago."
- Martin (5/5): bed was comfy once I was in it, but I was concerned if I had to get up during the night - the room was clean and comfortable, really appreciated the refrigerator the beds were WAY too tall!! I am a short person and I had to get a chair, put a leg on the seat of the chair to almost jump into the bed. if I had not had a chair, I would not have been able to get into the bed!!!! this is NOT a safe situation for a senior citizen.
- Marty (8/5): Clean, comfortable, no elevator - Comfortable, clean, modern hotel. No elevator so if you're upstairs plan on hauling your luggage up the steps.
- Sidney (6/5): Pleasant -
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Stacy (9/5): Superb -
- Maxine (8/5): - The facility and area were very good. The breakfast selection was good. Our room did not get cleaned - and we did not put out a "do not disturb" notice. I asked for clean towels at the check-in and received them. I thought the price was a little high - but I understand where the economy is and inflation.
- Suzette (10/5): - Excellent location in Clarion.
- Diana (6/5): - We didn't know there was no elevator and my husband has COPD. They didn't offer to help with luggage or change rooms.
- Andrea (10/5): - Stay was great!
- Jacob (8/5): - Nice stay
- LISA (10/5): - The property is very clean, the check in quick and the staff were very friendly and professional.
- keith (4/5): - My room door would not latch properly. I was told to lift the door by the handle to get it to latch. Quite a bit of strength was needed to get the door to latch and lock. Hotel is very close to railroad tracks as a train went through during the night.
