Guest Reviews
- Yang (10/5): - Definitely recommend!
- Robert michael (8/5): - Charming little place with nice shower water pressure. Staff was helpful on the phone. Did not meet them because we arrived late and office was closed by then, but everything was where they said it would be and we were still able to access the rooms.
- Justin (2/5): - Room reeked of cigarettes. Dusty room
- Alastair (10/5): Awesome - Awesome no frills motel
Excellent staff
- Oli (8/5): - Good location, but small
- Christian (6/5): - La chambre a besoin d'amour.
Merci beaucoup!
- Jason (10/5): - Very friendly, quick check in and called me after check out when I forgot an item in the room. Would definately stay there again. To those who would say that it is very out dated, it is a motel, price was very cheap and if you are expecting the ritz carleton don't stay in a motel, look for a hotel.
- Jessica (6/5): Quiet and comfortable - Clean with basic amenities. Could use a deep cleaning (corners, baseboards, etc.), but the beds were really comfy, and we had a nice, quiet night.
- ABBY (10/5): - Nice staff.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Wishing for help - Thank goodness we were able to phone host to get address bc couldn’t find reservation email from hotels.com. Helpline from hotels.com not very helpful, website not helpful. Mgr on site via telephone was really helpful.
Pls send receipt from hotels.com.
- Adel (6/5): - Firstly they had no ac in summer. Secondly its at a spot where its less noticeable
- Fady (8/5): - Clean and organized. Staff are helpful too
- Mohammed zaid (10/5): Overall good - Nice motel but unable to use Wifi as I checkin late night and not able to find wifi password anywhere.
- Yong jin (2/5): - Room smells full of cigarettes. STAY AWAY. Can’t sleep here due to too strong smell
- Ali (6/5): - It was not bad.
- Genevieve (2/5): - I had to take some time before I wrote this because I was too angry after the fact. This room was absolutely awful. First thing upon entry we were hit with the strong smell of cigarettes despite it being a non smoking motel. The smell was so strong that I got a headache the whole night. We tried opening a window to allow some air in but it actually made it worse because the window screens reeked of cigarette smoke too. Then I realized the smoke detector was removed from the ceiling mount and was sitting on a shelf. This is absolutely unacceptable. When I picked up the keys at 3ish I did not go see the room as the front desk staff said it was still being cleaned. We only saw the room when we arrived for the night at 8pm. How did the cleaning staff not correct the smoke detector issue. So unsafe. The rest of the room was deplorable. The comforter and blanket smelled dirty and the pillows as well. One of the worst parts of the whole space was that every edge of the night stand, table, and bathtub ledge were covered in burn marks from lighters or hot spoons in relation to drug use. The bathroom was still covered in other people’s hair and the faucets were grimy with dirt. We were so devastated. We just wanted a decent place to sleep as we were only there from 8pm to 9am. I don’t understand how this place had such positive reviews, unless this was their worst room. I would never stay here again and would tell everyone to stay clear.
- Marjorie (8/5): - The heating was insufficient even with a little heater.
- Hanh (10/5): - Very good!
- Abdul (6/5): - Food
Lights
- Liezel (6/5): - We we’re not able to sleep because we are suffocating with the smell of cigarette from outside that coming from the aircondtion, the comforter is so itchy that we think they didnt wash for a long time, please dont allow smoking in your property
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The motel has all the necessities and is great value for the money. There is a strong left over smell of smoking. I guess it never occurred to me to check if this was a non-smoking hotel. Smoking is allowed 😥
- Renee (10/5): - It was quiet, has microwave and small fridge in room as well as wifi. It was near variety of stores. Only a few units which adds to the quiet
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly staff, convenient location and clean room.
- John (8/5): - The motel is close to Ottawa, in line with expectations from motel. While the 2 rooms were clean. tidy and had air conditioner, there was a strong cigarette smell in each, obvious people smoke there.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great staff, thanks for everything.... called to confirm 👍
- Verified traveler (4/5): - No Wifi, THe room was stinking with a cigarette smell, though we booked for non-smoking
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Better than I expected . Very clean, tidy and neat.
- Kim (10/5): Great value, clean, friendly owners - Excellent value. We came here for our move to the area. Last year we stayed at a motel for the same price but this one is better, there was no smell of smoke which is important because my husband and I both have asthma and we had our toddler with us. This place also welcomes pets (we brought our cat and a neighbour had 2 large dogs) but it was clean. Only thing I would suggest is to repaint the parking lot and provide a wifi password for guests checking in after hours. I love how they handled us checking in after hours as well.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Dont. - The room was reeking of Cigarettes, that smell stayed for the entire night we were there, no matter how much we sprayed. There was so much noise from the highway which is right by the motel. This room was the cheapest option in ottawa area but we should have spend more money and gone somewhere alse, NOT RECOMMEDED. We've been at many motels in our vaction in canada and this was the worst.
- Raquel (8/5): Clean room, but older appearance - We arrived after the office closed, so we called them, and they came to check us in. The owners were very friendly and helpful. I had paid online before getting there (received e-mail confirmation), but she said she had not accepted it, and asked me to get my credit card again, because or else she would have to log in to accept it. This seemed strange to me, and I didn't want to pay again. Eventually she logged in, but that was a bit frustrating. We were happy with the room, it was clean, but it looks old.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Well located, with easy access to Ottawa - Overall nice experience. Comfortable for a family of 4.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Awful - Room was dirty, medication and garbage under beds
Avoid this place, there are nicer ones in the area!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Super Convenient and Safe Location near Ottawa, ON - 5 Star Experience. This was a wonderful motel. Very clean, safe location in Gatineau, QC. The room had a microwave, fridge, and table with two chairs so you can eat food comfortably in the room. The best thing about the motel is that you can park your car backwards and the door to your room is only three steps from the trunk of your car. This way you always have easy access to your car at any time and you don't have to take everything out. Two things that they need to do to improve is write the Wi-Fi password on your receipt or room key, and work on the shower's water temperature. The shower has difficulty maintaining a constant temperature (even once you set the temperature, the water coming out of the shower would oscillate between too hot and too cold). However, the shower would still be at the right temperature for long enough that you just have to step back when the water coming out of the shower head is too hot or too cold and wait (about 5 seconds) for the temperature to go back to normal.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Hotel at road site, small and old facility - Room was equipped only with basic furnitures, but with fridge and TV. Room was smelling cigaretts, bathroom not very clean and needs maintenance. Parking in front of the room. Sorry, but no recommadation for families and tourists.
Reception only open from 11 - 18, but always available by phone and deposit of the key is not a problem.
We booked this only, because several other motels were booked out.
- Kathy (8/5): Comfortable, good value - Simple motel.... clean and comfortable. Near Ottawa. Shopping and restaurants nearby.
- Jim (6/5): Motel located in the outskirts of Gatineau. - Cozy motel in a quiet section of Gatineau on a major street. The room is small and clean but comfortable. The bathroom needs to be updated but still serves its purpose. There are no amenities. Good value for your money.
- Jill (6/5): Okay for a night - Upon arriving, I thought I had booked yet another terrible motel, but the old saying "never judge a book by its cover" hold true for this place. Granted it is in a weird place, and terribly outdated, but the rooms were clean and the beds comfy, and for one night, what more can you ask for. It was very quiet as well considering we were just off the road.
- Norman (8/5): Good and comfortable - Good
- Lillian (8/5): Courteous staff! - This hotel is a little old but clean and served our purpose for 2 nights based on the cost. Our room was small and we were a little cramped for space with 4 adults. The people at the front desk were very kind, courteous and helpful with helping us with directions and amenities in the area.
- pablo (6/5): Clean and Safe - Clean motel, not great location but quiet and safe, just 15 min from Ottawa downtown and 5 min from shopping and restaurants.
For more info and tips, please check triptips4you. com
- chris (4/5): door open, wifi didnt work cant find staff - come back to our room on second night our door wide open no staff around, not enough towels to have showers,wi-fi wouldnt work second night,no one to fix it,looking for refund for second night.
- Wenche Niemeyer (6/5): Not a pleasent area - Nothing convinient around only a supermarket. No way to get even a cup of Coffee. Very thin walls. Other guests talking outside until late night. Dogs barking in other rooms. ....
- Verified traveler (4/5): A bit far from Ottawa - It was ok we sleep good and the tv is pain in the bum you have to turn it manually
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room was clean, but had a peculiar smell. The bathroom had broken tiles the washbasin was cracked the top was dirty. The bathtub was terrible. Not a place I would stay in again.
- Charled (6/5): A OK motel
- The room is clean and comfortable. Good for 1 or 2 days.
- Jonathan (8/5): Maybe needs a handyman? - Rooms are are advertised with a hot tub, yet i barely had enough hot water to take a shower.
And the curtain rod in the shower kept collapsing.
Also, the door didnt fully close easily.
But the beds were luxurious, all the basic amenities were available and the service was excellent
- Fabrizio (6/5): mmm - The room stank of sigarette
the bathroom was always cold
- Sheila (6/5): Good for the price - Staff is very friendly - speaks both English and French. It is nothing fancy - good value for an overnight stay. Very clean.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Convenient, not luxuriant but clean hotel - Easy free parking. Friendly and helpful staff. A bit old but clean hotel.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Motel on major route with only 9 rooms. - Counter opens 11:00 to 20:00, late check in have to be arranged in advance if necessary.
Exhaust fan was missing and smell stays in room for long time with no chance to go anywhere, especially in cold weather. Mattresses make a lot of noise. Motel very old.
- Yannick (6/5): Convenient hotel for an overnight stay - We check-in quite late and the receptionist was really helpful. The room was a bit small for 4 but still okay.
- Loyce (6/5): Comfortable but in a rundown area - The new owner was very sweet and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable but the hotel is a bit run down. They are doing some remodeling it looks like. The hotel seems to have a number of construction workers staying there - they were out smoking and drinking beer when we were checking in - but they were quiet. The neighbor hood is pretty rundown but we didn't have any problems. It was further from where we would like to have been but that was our error in not being familiar with the area.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Not Bad - One bed was great and the other bed was very lopsided and uncomfortable.
- C. (10/5): just what we needed - The room had just what we needed and the service was excellent. The neighborhood id good and you have market right across st.
- rosa (8/5): Accommodating & friendly. - the place is convenient and close to all amenities.
- Mark (6/5): A fair shake for your lodging dollar - I found this Motel to be the cheapest option in the area. I was there with my wife and 2 young kids. It was clean. There was the odor of cigarette smoke, but it quickly becomes unnoticeable after a few minutes. The fridge does not have a freezer compartment. The TV has absolutely nothing to watch without having to pay... (if it did, such stations cannot be found within 5 min)... music/radio over the TV are free. The bed sheets and towels are clean and nicely presentable. When I went to check-in, the receptionist asked payment higher than my Expedia reservation indicated, so I showed my confirmation email and was promptly given the Expedia price I had expected. Despite being along a busy street, I had no problems sleeping even with a window open. For anyone who needs to visit this area, I would suggest this place and stay again if I were there.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Considering we only needed a place to sleep, this hotel was good. Although, we asked for non-smoking rooms, one of the rooms was definitely a smoking room. Very small rooms, but clean overall.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Motel needing lots of renovation - Stayed here for 2 days. Where do I start? Internet was slooooooooow, it was very frustrating to try to open a webpage. Room was stinky with cigarette smoke. There was no bolt lock in the room. There was nobody In the "Lobby" from 9 PM to 11 AM. TV in the room was probably from the 80's......I could go on and on....
The only good things about this place are its location next to the airport and the lady who checked me in. She was very nice and helpful. I was running late and she called me to make sure I was still planning to check in. Kudos to her!
If you are on a very tight budget, this place maybe for you.
- Rita (10/5): Happy! - We really liked our stay and plan to go black in the next few weeks
- Verified traveler (6/5): - There was a probleme with the key...it would not enter in the lock so i had to play for like 5 minutes witj the keys at 9 pm so it would open....
- Verified traveler (2/5): Dingy, smoky, overpriced - The front desk has very limited hours. If you arrive after about 8pm you have to call. The hotel reeked of smoke and was pretty run down. The neighbourhood was in the middle of nowhere. Ultimately, the price was way too high for what I got.
- Amanda (8/5): Good for the price - This was a good place to stay. The price was good and the fridge worked very well.
- Verified traveler (6/5): First stay in Gatineau - Pretty good but far from where I was supposed to go... Impossible to have early services because nobody on the desk.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Too hot and the heat could not be stopped. - We stayed there for only one night in October.
Everything else was ok except the heat got turned on after mid-night by a central heating system. Then the hot air just kept coming out from every exhaust on the floor and it could not be stopped. I was woken up by the heat at around 2:30 am. I tried everything I could do to cool down, including leaving all the windows wide open, but it did not work. The whole room just got so hot and I could not get back to sleep ever since.
The next morning, when I talked to my mother next door, she said she could not breathe because of the heat and she had to leave her door open to let the cool air in, which means anyone on the street could easily get into her room.
My brother, who was staying with my father in another room, was not that smart like me and my mother. He left his windows and door close throughout the night. And he told me that when he got up in the morning, his room temperature sored up to 32℃ ! We all didn't get enough sleep at that night.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Average hotel good for short stay - Average motel. There is a grocery store just cross the street. The machine of the front desk was not working. I have to use all of my cash. Parking was fine. No breakfast.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Roadside Motel. - Right across the street from Lac Beauchamp and Tigre Giant store. Clean room and bath. Check in was easy. The room smelled of cigarette smoke. So much that it clung to our clothing, and cliché there was no smoke detector in the room.
- mo (6/5): it was ok - it was ok but I don't think if it's my option I won't book for next time.
- Hazim (2/5): Looks real different than the Expedia description - Poor facilities and missing a lot of things in that motel .
- James (6/5): Worked for me - Not bad. Staff was great. Room didn't have a deadbolt or chain, just the little lock in the handle, which also didn't work super well. So, it definitely felt less than secure. Bathroom could've been cleaner but wasn't terrible. Otherwise I had no complaints. Neighborhood was nothing special but didn't feel dangerous or anything.
- Verified traveler (8/5): great deal but smokey - thid was a great deal, the only downside was the smell of cigaret that lingered in the air and caused our allergies to act up.
- Lorian (2/5): - This place is a dump. There is only someone there until 8pm and if you come after that to check in, good luck getting someone on the phone.
- Josette (6/5): To bad about toilette and no service before noonj - Good price, quite and comfortable. However, no one on staff before noon. No plunger in room so unable to unclogg toilette. Not good in the morning. Unable to reach anyone and no call back from message left.
- Yoda (6/5): 10 room motel, cheap, but not so comfy - This is a small motel with only 10 rooms. The owners/staff was lay back, often not in office during the office hours. On my day of arrival, there was no one in office, I was wondering if I came to the right place. I have to ask for help from a nice hair dresser in next door to figure out if this is the right place. Finally, they did came back to the office and checked me in.
If you are looking for cheap motel, this is ok, but don't expect much from it.
- Angela (10/5): - Was a very cute room and conveniently located. The hospitality was great!! Will be starting again!
