Deborah (10/5): Everything I needed--I'd stay again - A nice, spacious room with a comfortable bed and a bunch of nice pillows. Good space for working with a computer. Decent-sized fridge with a freezer compartment (so I could re-freeze the cold packs I use in my travel cooler). A good reading/relaxing chair as well in the room.

Sally (9/5): - I appreciated the dog friendly accomadations such as a room on the ground floor, dog area with bags and trash cans available, and parking area with entrance to the dog wing close by. Front desk staff extremely friendly and informative on nearby eating places.

Kellie (2/5): Not pleased at all! - It was quiet and easy access from the interstate. The bed was old and not comfortable. There was a squeaking sound, finally located that it was the refrigerator so we needed to unplug to quit making a noise. The shower water was warm, not hot. The door did not close, had to lift up real hard to get the door shut. Was told it was the ‘last room’ available.

Kerry (6/5): Decent. Bring your own pillow. - Breakfast was good, staff was pleasant. Overall cleanliness was good. Pillows are not comfortable. More and more hotels are going to little square pillows that flatten when you lay your head on them. I thought, "It might have been ok when I was 20 years old, but not at 51." Then my 20 year old son woke up the next morning and said, "These pillows are horrible." Guess I was wrong. Fortunately I had a pillow in the car that I went and retrieved for myself. Not so fortunate for him.
Jenni (10/5): - My husband and I love going here for a quick night away. The room with the balconies and jacuzzi tub is perfect for a night away. Sraff is friendly and accommodating. Wish there was a place to eat dinner close by. The place is not modern but it is well maintained and clean. Will be booking again I'm sure.

Michelle (8/5): - Beds were comfortable. As I entered the room, I turned on the air conditioner. As it kicked on, it was very loud, but then settled back down. Since I was standing in front of the air conditioner, I checked the windows that slid open only to find that they were unlocked and slid open without any resistance. I would highly recommend having housekeeping, check to make sure they are locked after the guest checks out for safety. I thought the rate was reasonable and the front desk staff were very friendly.

I have a child with special needs, so the location of my room was important so as not to disturb other guests. Breatfast was good with plenty of choices. its a bit outdated but that is just aesthetics.

The bathroom, and the bed looked like someone had slept there before we got there, and needed more cleaning, the beds are a bit hard.

We have stayed here on our way to DesMoines and on our way back. Both times, we were given a room that I did NOT book. it's good that we had our reservation unfor with us. Desk staff was very difficult to understand. Heavily accented English. Couldn't distinguish them from regular guests because the were dressing in sweatshirts and jeans. Both times, for breakfast( which runs from 6-9), staff was beginning to clean up. Today, my partner was eating breakfast by himself, before 8, and they shut the lights down, went over to the food to see how much was left and then realized he was still sitting there eating. There was no coffee left. Likely won't use this hotel again.

Carpet was visibly not vacuumed, AC unit smelled of mold when used and we found 3 dead cockroaches in the bathroom that appeared to have been there awhile because they were obviously squished. There was also hair in the sheets that made me believe that they were not changed from the previous guest.

Theresa (2/5): - I have never paid for a hotel and not stayed before. We were in town for a family reunion and this is the only hotel accommodations because of the size of the town. Multiple family members were staying in this hotel but beings we all came from different states we arrived at different times, however young cousins wanted to share rooms, should be ok and perfectly normal. My first red flag was when i was asked if i was staying alone, i explained i was but Multiple family members were already there. Checked in and they told me i couldn't use the side door to get to my room i had to use the front door. I carried a load of stuff to my hotel and when came back 3 of them cornered me in the hallway screaming at me that i hadn't paid but i had on a travel site, and started yelling about extra people, because of multiple family members but we weren't all staying together. It was midnight so i just paid the extra $50 and figured when everyone got up in the morning we would clear it up, but then i was told beings it was after 9pm they could not give me a receipt for my extra charge, their system shuts down. So their system was up to charge my card but not to print my receipt. Every time i left my room to go to my car they were watching me, and by this point I wasn't comfortable staying and checked out. They could check me out but wouldn't again give me a receipt. I travel extensively by myself and have never felt as uncomfortable as I did in this hotel.

The breakfast was a great surprise. Lots of selections. The location is starved for places to eat or shop. Although the Purple Onion restaurant was great home style cooking and priced pretty good. A nice home town vibe. Bring munchies cause you need travel aways to grab a quick bite.
