- petermI1390WG (10/5): This hotel experience exceeded our expectations. - We had a wonderful 2-day stay. Everyone was kind and attentive. There were free bottles of water, snacks, and an assortment of delicious cookies and even chocolates available not only on check in, but also on the following day. The room was clean, quiet, and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was large and bright, and everything was in working order. The breakfast was better than expected with a wide variety of food including fresh strawberries and blueberries.

There was a lot of space and we appreciated the fridge and microwave in the room. They were short staffed but all of the staff that were there worked very hard to make our stay pleasant. The breakfast had a lot of options and was restocked as needed. The only recommendation I would make is to have more lighting in the room - it seemed kind of dark. It would also be nice to have a dresser or a table to set our things on in the room with the beds. The hot tub outside was nice to unwind after sightseeing.

- Molly56A (6/5): Mixed bag of good and not so good; ADA notes - This is such a mixed bag! Staff great, friendly, helpful. Lobby lovely. Great coffee, tea, and cookies. Nice breakfast area. Housekeeping not so much. Dust all over sill and chair. You could write on it! Stained rug throughout. Only a desk chair for a room for two. Shades do not pull down and drapes do not close. Clock not set to the correct time (2:12 am at 5:45 pm). ADA room adequate for wheelchair user, but if you are on canes or a walker, be aware that the ADA room we got is about as far from the elevator as you can get. No pool, just a spa—outside, no shade. And they are charging $240! Insane! Our next BW has similar amenities and charges half that?

- billw590 (8/5): Good location when visiting Lassen NP - Good location when visiting Lassen NP. Room was comfortable and a little above average for a Best Western. Breakfast buffet was superior to what you usually find in this class of accommodations. A bit difficult to get the room temp down to where we anted it, but that's not unusual.
- Chinghui (4/5): - Ants are everywhere, sink, bed, table, couch and even my luggage. Sink faucet is out of order and very hard to adjust hot and cold water. Body wash and hand wash bottles were empty so I had to call for the refill. WiFi is terrible- out of service most of the time. Air condition could not stop running even it already reached the temperature I set. It is the worst Best Western I have ever stayed.

We had an inside room which I liked - it was quiet and comfortable. I love the large bathroom counter. Service was very friendly and there are snacks and breakfast. Adjacent to gas station. We enjoyed popping over to the Timber Lodge for dinner up the street.

- valeriec284 (8/5): Good place in Chester, CA - We stayed in the Best Western Rose Quartz to visit Lassen Volcanic National Park. Our room was nice and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is very good. They kindly provided gluten free bread for my husband, who is on a gluten free diet. There are several good restaurants nearby in Chester, CA. This Best Western has a business center and exercise room. One complaint: the housekeeping service is poor. We requested fresh towels and a refill of shower gel one morning, only to came back at the end of the day to find that had not been done. Anything you need in your room, you’ll have to ask for at the front desk.

- john0105 (4/5): Disappointing Stay Despite Premium Price - We booked the most expensive 2-queen suite but were placed in the motel section across the parking lot. The room had a strong smell of Febreze, ants in the bathroom, exposed electrical wiring, and a leaking toilet that appeared to be seeping sewage at the base. Several light bulbs were burned out, the A/C controls didn’t work (we couldn’t turn off the fan), and there was no Wi-Fi. AT&T cell service was also unavailable. To make matters worse, no one was at the front desk in the morning, so we couldn’t report these issues. On the plus side, they did offer a gluten-free bagel at breakfast. Advice: If I had to stay here again, I’d call ahead to make sure we were placed in the main hotel building rather than the motel section—perhaps the experience is better there.
- John (4/5): - toilet overflowed. no one on site to fix it immediately. we left for the day. when we returned 7 hours later the toilet was fixed but the bathroom had not been cleaned!!! the phone had a flashing red light that could not be turned off. apparently that had been a problem for some days. with large numbers of people staying both nights the kitchen staff had trouble keeping the various food available for those having breakfast. i will not stay here again.
- ParisOneTimer (2/5): Not a great stay - Several things wrong with this 1 night stay. Got back to our room late after visiting family. Got ready for shower. No soap or shampoo in shower, no bathmat, and no rubber mat for slippery tub. Had to step out and grab the bottle of “energizing” scented hand soap to shower with. Used 2 washcloths as a mat. Smelled horribly of coconut after that. No didn’t call the front desk because it was 10:30 at night and needed to get to sleep. Housekeeping needs QC.

- 711anetal (10/5): Te best of the best! I love this hotel! - The best of the best! I absolutely love this hotel! I stayed with my two young kids and a small dog, and everything was perfect. The staff was incredibly accommodating, the service was outstanding, and the ambiance was stunning. We felt so welcome, and every detail exceeded my expectations. Can’t wait to return!

- Adrian (4/5): - The room that I was given had poor lighting, stains on the carpet, and a grimy looking bathroom with a towel that had a ripped hole in it. The hot tub was tiny as well as the area for it. It was also out of service but the staff failed to inform me that it was out of service.

- momopepper (10/5): Nice stay - Probably your best lodging choice in the area. Friendly staff. Clean and decent size room. Will be good for families, couples, solo travelers. Excellent selections of breakfast items offered which definitely exceeded our expectations as compared to places that offer “free” breakfast. Good base for visiting nearby Lassen National Park.

- Francine (8/5): - The hotel was in the business section of small town Chester. We wished the hotel surroundings were more forest-like. Also, although the room was nice, the bed's sheet corner would not stay on the mattress and the towels were quite flimsy. The breakfast was good and the complementary afternoon cookies were appreciated.

- Lyndon (8/5): - Loved this stay. We were in a row of rooms directly across the parking lot from the main 2-level hotel. Parking was directly in front of the room's door, extremely convenient. Grocery, gas and dining was literally across the street or kiddy-corner. Staff was great, provided extra pillows as requested.

They only had booked one of my two nights I requested, but they comped me the second night after Expediacalled them. 3 months later, somebody called me saying I owed them for my second night. They told me nobody will come to my room until after I check out. The place was almost empty on a 3-day weekend. Now, I see why. I'm disabled with a certified service dog, but they told me I'd have to go to the back of the property to walk him, even though they had a signed dog area closer.

- Kelli (10/5): - Our family really enjoyed our stay and hot breakfast after exploring Lassen Volcanic National Park. Our room was right above the lobby, but was so quiet, clean and comfy. So many options for breakfast that everyone was happy and full, ready for another day of exploring.
- Laura (10/5): - The staff at this hotel are amazing! We had a large room with Jacuzzi tub. It had a wonderful view of the Rogue River Bridge. The town is adorable and the people are very friendly!
- ROBERT (4/5): - Not worth the $311 charge. Room was in the old part of the motel. Minimal remodeling so room was OLD and VERY dated!. TV was broken so I could not change channels No drinking water in the room. Had to ask for towels. Breakfast was just OK. I will never stay at BW Properties again. I feel that we were taken advantage of to pay so much for a below-average room. I would sleep in my car before staying at a BW again!!!

- Melissa (4/5): - The room and bathroom were both spacious for our family of 5, however, the room was filthy and severely lacked appropriate attention - we opened the sofa bed to find the sheets from a prior stay still on the bed complete with old food crumbs that had fallen through the couch, there was a large cockroach running across the floor, and we found the old room keys from a prior guest that had been left behind. There was also a crack in the bathroom wall and the bathroom faucet handle repeatedly kept falling off. Despite having reserved the room for 5 guests, we still had to ask for extra towels, bedsheets, blanket and a pillow for the 5th guest after our arrival. The “complimentary” toiletries (shampoo and body wash) were completely empty, the vending machine was virtually empty with the exception of about 5 items, and the heating element in the hot tub was broken. On the positive side, the staff were all friendly, the ice machine was properly functioning, and they had a good selection available for the complimentary breakfast which the staff kept well-stocked.
