• Louis (8/5): I highly recommend it. - I highly recommend it. The hotel is located in a quiet setting. The staff is knowledgeable. The room is comfortable and clean, and the mattress is very comfortable. Heating/air conditioning is very quiet (a rarity) and easy to use. Good lighting and a comfortable reading chair. Large mini-fridge with freezer space. Breakfast is served at the table and consists of a single, very hearty dish. 2 eggs, choice of meat, roasted potatoes, toast, and various spreads. Photo The pillows were much too big for my taste; I slept uncomfortably. There was a single, thinner pillow that I hadn’t noticed, tucked away in the closet. The fridge in this room is located near the head of the bed; despite its soft hum, I had to sleep with earplugs.

It was quiet. The coffee was a delight first thing in the morning. The shower was refreshing and great pressure for a great comfort for the weary bones.

• Elizabeth (7/5): Overall, I would go back but request a room not in that particular hallway. - Barneys Pub and Grill had fantastic food, as well as the breakfast at O'Brians was good. The breakfast voucher was a little confusing as it seemed we were getting a deal but the voucher for $16 per person only got us the breakfast that was $15.99 - if we ordered anything else we were told the price would be added - so really the voucher was not necessary. I was not overly impressed with the amount of people leaving the pub and instead of going out the pub door, people vacated the building via the hotel hallway which passes rooms. My room was unfortunately on the corner for the back door where people were exiting. Unnecessary door slamming which was not by paying hotel guests and the rooms are too expensive for this noise.
• Trent (7/5): Best Wetaskiwin Has?! - Clean and friendly staff. Connected to a Grill/Pub is convenient. The mattress was just way to gooshy for our backs and honestly the price was way overpriced at nearly $200 CA/$160 USD for a very tiny room in a very old but updated property.

• Jenna (9/5): Excellent. - The staff were amazing and very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay and like the restaurant. We had a view of the Barney's Fountain, which was nice. The room was a little smaller, but I booked a king bed room and should have booked a queen or suite room as I had a busy 6year old with me. :)

• Sheldon (6/5): - Rooms are good, the lady who checked me in was phenomenal but the staff the next morning from both the restaurant and the front desk were definitely not happy to be at work in the morning and less than impressed to have to do their jobs. I booked 11 rooms direct with the hotel for the week after this booking and there was a couple errors, one guy had the wrong checkout date and there was no breakfast vouchers included when they were requested and the lady at the front desk was very rude about having to make any changes. Our company seems to like to use this place and they seem to think they are the only option in town when the lodge across the road is a far better choice.

• Jennifer (10/5): Great value, clean, and great staff - We recently stayed at the Wayside Inn to attend a family funeral. We were warmly greeted by Amanda at the front desk, and she gave us our keys and vouchers to the $5 breakfast (regular price is $16). The rooms, while not large, had everything we needed, including an iron/ironing board, hairdryer, a good-sized bar fridge, a built-in desk and chair, and a comfy chair and ottoman. My husband was pleased with the large good-quality TV and channel lineup, which included several sports stations, to his delight! The hotel has two restaurants: O'Briens for breakfast and early lunch, and Barney's Pub for lunch, dinner and beyond (loads of seating at the bar and in the large rooms, as well as a cute little patio - very pleasant staff, as well). I think the even-numbered rooms actually look out on the patio and fountain, while the others look out on the parking lot, which is quiet. The premises were very clean (saw the hall being vacuumed and walls wiped down every day during our 4-days stay), with extra ample elevators and a small but functional exercise room downstairs. The Wayside Inn is within easy walking distance of a Subways and a well-stocked Safeway for groceries (also houses a small Starbuck's for you coffee lovers - opens at 7 a.m.) and several other restaurants. We found all the staff to be very friendly and accommodating. This will definitely be our hotel of choice the next time we're in Wetaskiwin.

The unhoused hanging out at the back entrance doing drugs. Staff handled it quickly. But maybe better security (cameras) as this is the only door to use with dogs. It was also odd having the sink outside of the bathroom.

Hotel was booked full other wize we would have booked another room. Eco friendly is not a priority to me. I stayed for six nights for my mom’s funeral and having a clean, quiet, comfortable room to retreat to after emotional days made all the difference. The kindness displayed by every single staff person I encountered was exceptional. They obviously care about their work and that translates to our customer experience. I would definitely stay there again and have already recommended it to others.

For both business and pleasure this is a great spot. On the business side, there are numerous meeting rooms.. As well weddings can be accommodated here. There is good restaurant Obrian's which services breakfast and lunch, as well as a large English style pub Barney's which serves good food, late into the night. Overall good value for the dollar.

• swO6533WP (10/5): Weekend girls trip - Very clean, comfortable room. Check-in was a breeze. The food in both restaurants was very good and we had excellent service from the restaurant staff. Hotel staff in all areas were friendly, courteous, and respectful. They did an excellent job of looking after a group of 9 ladies.

I turned the heat up a smidge, but it didn’t seem to help. In the morning, I discovered extra blankets in the closet.

• Barb (10/5): Comfortable stay at this hotel! - We were in town 3 nights to visit my partner's brother, who recently bought a house a block behind the hotel. I'm not sure when this hotel had their last renovation, but everything looked brand new, clean, fresh, and modern. Both beds were a bit on the firm side, and we got a good sleep all three nights. The room air conditioning worked well and was quiet. There is a smart tv, so you can't find what you like. You can watch your own Netflix or Prime if you have your password. There was a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The toilet and shower are together in one room and sink vanity seperate, so good for getting ready if there's two of you. There is an extending lighted make-up mirror on the wall. There is a large rain shower but no wall shower, so you have to dart around that to turn on the shower, (knob all the way around for hot), if you dont want to wet your hair, but it's doable. We had hot water right away all 3 days. There is a restaurant and large pub, both had great food, you can get a breakfast coupon for $5 for meal value up to $16. The pub has many tvs and comfy seating areas if you dont want to sit at H the bar. The booths have their own tvs. There's 30 VLTs, Keno, and horse betting as well. Service was top-notch throughout the hotel. Will be back again. Nothing not to like.
