- Jeremy (7/5): Decent place to stay, don't count on breakfast. - Speedy check in. Reasonably clean in room and common areas. Breakfast: hot food was barely warm, waffles were off (we debated on whether it was the syrup, butter, the or waffles themselves).

- Leslie (1/5): Save yourself and drive to the next town, it’s only 20 mins away. - That I got to leave This place is not run with any sense of hospitality. The owner/manager openly seems to hate his job, his staff, and the guests. It shows everywhere. When we asked where we could go for breakfast instead of eating the hotel breakfast, he literally said: “I don’t eat that shit either.” That pretty much tells you everything about how the place is run. If the person running the hotel admits the food is bad, that’s a serious problem. The conditions were honestly gross. The milk at breakfast was sour. I poured it on my Cheerios and had to spit it out immediately. Absolutely disgusting. The rooms were not maintained at all. • The toilet was broken. • There’s barely any light in the rooms. • The mirrors looked like they had been “fixed” with Sharpie. • The washcloths were yellow and looked old and dirty. • The luggage trolley didn’t even work. My friend tried to shower and said it was terrible, and honestly the bathroom felt so unclean I didn’t even want to attempt it. The whole place feels neglected. There’s clearly no maintenance and no care put into the property. More than that, it feels like the people running it simply don’t care. Hotels only work when someone takes pride in the place and in the people staying there. That is not happening here. Overall the experience was gross, uncomfortable, and disappointing. I would absolutely not stay here again.

The day time clerk is nasty and the owner said a lot of people complain about him but he is old so I dou t anything will change. We are thi king of driving into the quad cities for the next visit just to avoid him. Every time we go we have to deal with him

Had difficulty getting out of room because the BROKEN DOOR HANDLE WAS LAYING ON THE SINK! You read correctly, the broken door handle was left laying on the counter. Obviously staff was aware as the bed was made.

- TANISHA (1/5): - Our room was a suite. One bed we had to take the top sheet off it as it looked like someone blew their nose on it. There were dead bugs in the livingroom area, and our room had a horrible smell. It was either a chemical from flooring being redone or very strong bug killer. I was charged 3 times for two rooms we only stayed a night in. I spoke with the front desk that night, the next morning after we left and even called corporate. There were 5 people in the suite and we all woke up with headaches and sore throats. They had no other rooms to move us too and the other hotels around were sold out as well. Very bad experience!!

I called to confirm my early check in like 4 times at least and thank goodness I called the day I was due to check in because even though I was reassured every time it would be fine it was not my room was not ready. Bless that sweet man in the glasses who saved my day 🙏 made this trip so great it was my cousins wedding and I was stressed That the manager confirmed i would have early check in and it wasn't ready

- MS (7/5): - Location was great. Room was clean. I'm not a messy person so the room stayed clean! I didn't have much time to spend in the room because I was out with family most of the time. Everyone at the hotel was pleasant. I didn't have time to use the pool myself, but I heard from family members that the water was pretty cold. The breakfast was okay, but I prefer healthier items, protein items, instead of so many carbs. The coffee machine is okay, but the cup size available to use was actually too small. Everyone's coffee overflowed! There wasn't enough light in the room by the desk area when I wanted to work at my computer. Also, the desk table was more like a leftover dining table and the desk chair was so low compared to the table that I was having to reach up at an odd position to type on my computer.

Room was spacious and modern appliances. Very nice room for breakfast with an adequate amount of food choices. Tv is difficult to navigate, and internet connection had to be done by the desk attendant.

- Tsq (7/5): Austere inside and out. - Facility was very clean and all fixtures and equipment (elevator) all working well. HVAC worked well. Bed was comfortable. Pillows a bit hard though. When we first entered our room on a very warm day, HVAC was shut down and the room very very warm. It took well over an hour to get it cooled down so we could sweating. Room layout very dated with bath layout inadequate for a couple to use with any comfort. Lighting at vanity, which was in the room, was too intense with no dimming control. Light on and anyone in bed received all the light as well. When we asked for towels to go to the pool, we did get them but they had to mark it down. Don't know if it's the stall or the customers they were afraid would steal a towel. We stayed two nights and initially were given just 2 towels for the second night. Inadequate for warm weather and a swimming I no pool. Ambiance of the morning breakfast area lacking in any sense of hospitality or attempt for comfort. Food choices minimal compared to other motels but those available ok Ice and beverage machine on 1st floor only. Don't get me started re: the tv. Crazy to try to figure it out and then not much when you do. Morning manager questionable at best as to his overall responses toward a friendly helpful attitude. There was no attempt whatsoever to make the site pleasant. Stuck between two parking lots with semi trucks. Felt a bit like an old Motel 6. Overall we felt as though it was there for the management and not the "guests".

- Robson (10/5): Convenient and clean. - I needed a last-minute place to stay and this was great. I spent the next day at Bishop Hill, not far down the road (and worth some poking around for people who like history and/or crafts). If I remember correctly, there wasn't a freezer compartment in the room fridge. I depend on those to re-freeze the cooler packs in my food storage in the car. But there was a convenient ice machine (for many reasons, I prefer the cooler packs, but ice works).

- Cathe (2/5): - The property was empty with 2 cars in the lot when we showed up. We had been traveling all and had driven in from Chicago. The guy at the desk, Dave immediately starts in on “why does everybody come early! Check in is 3:00! ( it was 1:30) I was inquiring about a larger room ( shows online) Dave refused and said I had to take it up with the 3rd party I had booked through. My 17 year old had to leave the lobby because he was so mad at how Dave was treating me. So we went to the room , small, went back wanting to add another room. Dave started in chastising me as he “already explained , you have to contact the 3rd party “ my son finally got it through his head we wanted a second room. Then when I made coffee in the room, it stuck to the side of the cup and had a film on it. We were her for an event that o my some of us were going to , so I went down to the desk the next morning inquiring on paying for a late check out. Dave was again at the desk. Refused to inquire of management, just stated that he could let me stay in the room til 12:30 SHARP. I wonder if his boss will be happy about turning away a 1/2 rack rate ($ 75) for an extra 3 hrs with a mostly empty hotel. So I asked if I could sit in the lobby or pool area until about 2-3. Nope, that’s loitering . Needed to be off the property within 15-20 minutes of checking out . I have traveled extensively and never met anyone working in the hospitality industry so rude. The pool was about 80 degrees and unusable.

- Lauren (2/5): - This was the nastiest hotel I have ever stayed in, and the “breakfast” was also disgusting. I do not recommend this place at all. I killed at least 3 insects in the room, and found so much dust and filth behind the nightstands.

The first one we got there was mold all over the bathroom sink and the faucet was dripping. So they moved us to another room.. The second room was dark and dingy, and the hotel is due for a massive update as it's very outdated and everything needs to be replaced, including the beds. The water faucet is noisy and the drain was plugged so it took forever for the water to drain out. Not sure why I was charged $139 for something that should've been at least 10. I don't recommend this place at all

- amykE8401NT (4/5): We will drive to the next town in the future - Upon check in, I wanted to use a Best Western gift card and was told it wasn't possible with our room type. We arrived at our room and there was a bag of trash sitting outside of the room across the hall - it remained there until well into the next day. The room itself was clean enough, although a little dark. The closet door stuck open and the shower head sprayed as much water onto the wall as it did down into the shower. The bath tub had some stains and scratches which makes a person wonder about the overall cleanliness of the hotel. We took the kids swimming, but the pool area was also very dark. We asked about the underwater lights in the pool and were told they no longer work. At bedtime we realized that the bed pillows are not standard sized - they were half the size of a normal pillow. The breakfast was awful. Th options were extremely limited. The waffle maker produced undercooked waffles, the kids couldn't even finish them. The "scrambled eggs" were absolutely inedible. The coffee maker wasn't working when we first got there. I asked for help at the front desk since the breakfast attendant was nowhere to be found and the man at the front desk couldn't even be bothered to get out of his chair. We skipped the breakfast completely the second day. We have stayed at this location years ago and were very satisfied with our stay at that time. Unfortunately it has declined to the point I think we will find a different place to stay next time we're in town.

No gluten free alternatives but that's whatever. Trash cans in parking lot were overflowing. Parking lot looked trashy in general. Decent price. Good location.

- Alma (8/5): Very good - Breakfast was the same as every other motel which isn't something that we enjoy. Location was close to the intersate that we were travelling on so that was good. It was very quiet which we liked and the heating /air conditioning was very quiet.

- Sarah (5/5): Comfy bed but probably won’t be back to this location - The beds were comfortable! And nice hot shower! The men there weren’t the friendliest. Almost seemed like we were more of a pain being there than anything. The pool was freezing!! Kids complained but still swam, but my husband or myself couldn’t handle how cold it was. Was super disappointed in that. They were having the roof redone so it was a little noisy when we showed up and it wasn’t mentioned at all when we booked the reservation, and when checking in they didn’t say hey sorry bout that or anything. Just kinda thought that was an instant negative in our stay.
- sgrepp (6/5): Fine for the night - The rooms were clean and comfortable. Indoor pool looked nice, but we didn't have any time to give it a try. The breakfast selection was kind of disappointing and was much more limited than previous Best Westerns we had stayed at on this trip.
- Roland (10/5): - It was right off I-80, place was nice as checked above with a great restaurant literally next door. A minor problem, not to detract from all the good features, but bathroom sink was slow to drain and there was no bathroom counter at all.
- Alexa (6/5): - Room was huge - this was nice. Beds were fine (I read several reviews that beds were really uncomfortable). Pillows were lumpy, which I read so I brought my own. Room smelled old and musty. All of our belongings came back with this smell. Could not get the room cool enough to be comfortable. Bathroom had hair everywhere - floor, toilet, shower. Grime and gunk along floor and toilet - just not well cleaned. Could hear the pool area and people outside at the entrance from our room (we were on the 2nd floor). Yes, I could have complained to have it all fixed but it was late and we just needed a place to sleep. Will likely avoid staying here in the future.

- Sharon (6/5): probably would not stay here again - the location was good and close to restaurant for dinner the room was fine for just staying the night. the breakfast was not as stated the food was not available when we came down food containers for eggs potatoes and just a few sausage (which were not tasty and very greasy were empty and could not find staff to fill them. and front desk did not know where person was .. luckily could make a waffle and then get on the road. the front desk person when checked in was very hard to understand
- Watrous (5/5): Very basic and underwhelming for the price - Right near the highway and close to several dinning options. The hotel was small which was nice. In regards to the room, king size bed was extremely uncomfortable and both me and my husband woke up with bad back pain. The closet door was all jacked up. The satellite TV was going in and out so no point in trying to watch anything. The pillows were tiny square pillows. The sink constantly dripped. The hotel in itself is outdated for the price. The people working at the location were either lacking customer service skills or didn't speak English at all. Overall it was ok to deal with but for the price I feel it could have been a lot better.

- Patricia (10/5): Easy access, good location, great place for a road trip stop over. - I've often traveled with pets so stayed right off the highway and never ventured into town. Got great recommendations on the Genneseo Brewery and went into downtown. The hotel was good, clean and comfortable. A great place to stop for the night!
