Joan (10/5): BW of WISE - This was my first time staying at Best Western of Wise, VA. The staff members I met were very nice. My room was comfortable, clean, well lit with a large window wall and easily adjustable blinds. Air conditioning kept the room at a pleasant temperature. The breakfast area offered a variety of hot foods (scrambled eggs, sausage gravy and biscuits, pancake making machine), and cold foods (cereal, yogurt, bread and bagels). My only complaint was that the pool was out of service (under reconstruction until January 2026). Also on Sunday, I had left a note for housekeeping for restock of coffee, hot cups, toilet paper. It was obvious that my room had no services that day.

Leslie (4/5): - Checkin was good. While walking to room we noticed it being remarkably warm. We entered our room and it was horribly warm. Immediately turned on air, but it will not stay running. It stops and hums. Its so warm we cant get comfortable. I went in to get a shower and turned the water to hot. Literally let it run for over 10 min. Cold!!! Told my husband to call the front desk and ask about water. He came in laughing and shaking his head. The phone doesnt work. Ughhh Went to shut off, and felt a temp change. The cold setting is the hot water. We used $103 dollars of my expedia money or I would definitely go down and complain I dont like to gripe, but thos room is a miserable hot box. Also walked down to mcdonals and came back through pool room. It was closed and was completely tore apart with boxes and working material. We have stayed here before & never had these issues. Probably our last stay sadly

The woman at the desk said that was fine…when we arrived we were made aware that we had been marked as a no show and our room was sold. They had no extra rooms nor did surrounding hotels so we had to travel even further for somewhere to stay. Definitely not a good experience especially when we booked this hotel days in advance.

The beds were comfortable and it was relatively clean, but my room had a very heavy smell of smoke and only one wash cloth. Overall- about what I expected for the price.

Our TV wouldn't work so he came in to help, once that was corrected I turned around & there was a cockroach walking across the pillow. We picked up our stuff & left the hotel. Had to find another place at 1:30AM & then had to pay double. So pretty much a terrible experience.

Verified traveler (8/5): Awesome staff. - This was a one night stay... front desk lady awesome - 10 stars. When our 1st room had a major issue, she made sure our next room was good. The only complaint is the a/c unit.... it had a musty smell and still was humid in the room.

We also chose this one as it was calling for storms / rain all weekend and I was travelling with my grandkids and they had an indoor pool. The pool was out of service. Markay (6/5): Easy to find and get in and out of - This was a small stop for 5 hour to catch up on sleep on a long road trip. They had breakfast ready at 5:30AM which was great. It was just a very basic hotel and a bit rusty. Needs some love. Nothing special with check in or the stay itself. Not a bad spot for a quick night. Wouldn't book it for more than 1 day, but again, not bad for a quick stay.

Verified traveler (4/5): So so stay - When we arrived to check in on 27 June 2024 at 730 PM, we were told we did not have a reservation. I pulled up my email to show that the room was booked and paid for. Apparently, the employee was on the wrong day😳. The shower’s faucet was stripped; the handle went in EVERY direction. The water was scalding hot or super cold. It took 15 minutes messing around with the faucet to get warm water in order to shower. We checked out at 0730 AM on 28 June 2024 and employee DID NOT give me a receipt. All my years of traveling and staying at hotels, I have ALWAYS got a receipt; well not today.

Victor (6/5): summary of my night - for it to cost me 120+ there are a couple things to point out. no drinking cups, had to drink out of ice bucket.' no coffee or coffee cups. had coffee maker. no extra blanket for bed, had to leave heat up to stay warm no lotion, needed some for my arm. who ever heard of 15x15 pillows.. the bed was lets say not what I expected the room itself was nice and what was expected

We appreciated the small fridge and microwave provided. TV worked well. Pillow were comfortable. The hotel was being renovated so there was dust everywhere and plugs hanging out of the wall is some common areas. Staff were pleasant but not overly friendly. Ice machine on our floor was broken. Overall we were pleased with our stay. Once the renovations are complete this place will most likely be top notch! Just remember, no matter how nice the hotel is, customer service is what brings people back!

Tiffany the front desk manager, Taylor W, and Candice were so eager to assist me and were kind, courteous, thoughtful and available any time I called the front desk. They were so personable also. When i needed to stay a few extra nights they made sure my reservation was ready to go!! They are the best. I will stay here from now on because of their service. Thanks to them all.

Verified traveler (6/5): I don’t recommend this BW - A disappointing visit to this site. The amenities listed were not in the room. : clock radio with alarm, microwave, Re fridge. There was heavy dust on the top of the headboard. These problems were taken to the front desk at checkout. The response was,”Did you call and request them?” These items were listed on the website as amenities and they weren’t there. I didn’t need them but it is not my responsibility! They should be in the room. The swimming pool and exercise room were not functioning.

Cory (8/5): - The hotel was convenient for us as we traveled. Our room was clean and comfortable. It is an older building but is relatively good condition.
Deborah (8/5): - Friendly and helpful staff. Basic but clean accommodations. Linens were threadbare but still usable. Mattresses were lumpy. Complimentary breakfast was very basic but adequate. Pool was closed for repairs. Lobby needs some lounge chairs.

Verified traveler (4/5): Spend a few extra dollars and go elsewhere!! - The overall condition of the hotel was quite poor. The rooms reeked of smoke, there were burn holes in the carpet, the curtains had holes in them. My family was in town for a funeral and we rented several rooms. After returning from the memorial service, my brother-in-law arrived back to his room to find another patron was now assigned to his room and all of his stuff was missing. The front desk claimed that there was no record of him even staying there and said they didn’t know where his belongings were. My niece tried the “find my iPad” feature from her phone and they could literally hear their missing devices alerting from behind the front desk. The staff claimed they had no idea where the items were yet they were stashed just feet away. It is a very sketchy area and the employees are even sketchier. Do not leave any items of value in your room if you decide to stay here and if you desire cleanliness, you’d be better off finding another hotel.
Patti (8/5): - You need to put the refrigerator/microwave on a little platform so it's not so low. Shield on the heating system so it doesn't blow the curtains around. And put a round Shower curtain rod up so you have more room in the shower.
David (10/5): - like: clean, quiet, good desk service dislike: loose tub spout, things in the room worn, BUT they were clean
Mike (4/5): - I made my reservation online 12 days before my stay and reserved a NON-SMOKING room. When I arrived I was informed at checkin that my room had been switched to SMOKING. The stench in the room was terrible. I’ve used this hotel several times in the past, but next time in the area I’ll be staying somewhere else.
Seth (8/5): - Staff was friendly altho they did not replace our sheets , took our towels, and then later they left a trash bag of new towels outside of our room. Sheets had holes in them. AC , fridge , and tv all worked so that was a positive.

Brittney (4/5): - Didn't like the fact that online it said it had a pool, but the pool was unauthorized. The bedroom was supposed to have a refrigerator and microwave well there was none... There was to much moisture in the room I was staying in, and there was mold in the bathroom. The staff was friendly loved them, but I feel that I should get some of my money back since I paid for something that was not there. And technically I only stayed one night

Verified traveler (4/5): Not a good place to stay - We had 3 rooms and all rooms were bad. There was pieces of broken glass on the chair in the room. The odor in the rooms were bad. The bathroom was not clean including toilets and no trashcan in the bathroom either. The breakfast was one of the worst we've seen in terms of quality, service, variety, etc.
Jennifer (4/5): - Carpet was sticky and not clean. Water pressure was awful. Ice machines didn’t work. Staff was pleasant but not overly helpful. Breakfast was watery eggs and rubbery sausage. Our room was clean but felt dirty because of the carpet being gross. The tv remotes were gross. There was a knocking on wall that went on all day and night. It was extremely annoying. Other guests were very loud so we didn’t get a lot of sleep. Overall It wasn’t a great stay. We stayed at this property because it was the only room available. And I would stay again if it was the only room available.
Michael (2/5): - This property is a run down smoking hotel . When I got home the next day to unpack, my entire bag & clothes smelt like I was a smoker. Their was a sweat shirt behind the dresser. The tub was filty & patched up as if a large hole behind it.
Brian (4/5): - The hotel is in a good location and there are lots of restaurants, shops, grocery stores, etc. around, and a nice short trip to downtown. The staff was very friendly. However, the property is in rough shape itself, and in my mind was not up to par with a typical Best Western. we had issues with the TV, one of our two rooms had AC issues, the tiles in our bathroom actually rocked because the grout was cracked, the bathroom ceiling was something like 6.5ft tall, the sink was burnt and stained, the pillows were really small and flat, the bed was not very comfortable, etc. The real punch in the gut is that the pool was closed on top of all of this. I often select best western because they have a quality bar that I've grown accustomed to being pretty decent hotels, but this one had me questioning that assumption, and may have me skipping BWs in the future.
